Anyone ever complained about the efficiency of the NHS?
Had my GP check today for my now non-visible & no longer painful cheek issue (Hospital in 6 weeks so GP wanted to check if need to pull appt forward) and happened to ask about how the TTC is going as had discussed at previous appt that I am slightly crazy (under pressure was her term)
Told her about lack of AF and made the joke def not pg although keeping home testing in business!
She asked how long it had been... confirmed I don't think had a proper one since coming off pill - as we discussed this at last appt about the type of pill I had been on etc
She asked me to remind her when this was "oooh, last 1/4 2009 - erm, Sept/Oct?? I cant recall, I have it in the diary at home..." Truth = last 1/4 2009 - Dec... figured could hurt to have it on my notes in case of issue down the line.
She then completed a form and sent me down stairs for a blood test as it "wouldn't hurt to do this now, as today is blood day (day they have the vampire nurse at this site) rather than let you wait for another appointment next week just to do this then, saves us all time really"
On the one hand, very good service as I have been told to wait till 6/9 months before going to get checked out based on the pill I had been on being ?stronger? (and have been under fair amount of pressure) - on the other hand I went into this totally blind as I only needed to show my cheek is still slightly swollen but continuing to get back to normal.
I noted down what she was requesting, but no idea what they are for (as totally unprepared for this)
Does anyone know of a easy to understand website for a) decoding the blood test codes (what the letters stand for/what is being analysed) and b) website to explain what I should be expecting as "normal" results - as Dr said I would only need to go back if the results suggest things have not returned to normal yet, as may need to consider a "jump start"
Be grateful for any advice/direction re this.
On a another note think karma was at play, as I was wearing a fitted top - which I had to take off as sleeve did not roll past my elbow and had the ugliest bra on (a medieval contraption that is design for torture, and to hold everything where it should be as top unforgiving to natural movement)
Moral lesson - where good underware daily - not just when you are trying to get your own way at home
