Hi Ladies,

Thought I would pop back and say hello...

I dont recognise some names on here, so many of you probably wont know or remember me! lol

Wee update,

My CBFM is all packed away (not for gd reasons) so dont get 2 excited... lol

My journey TTC has not been an easy ride! After many tears, tantrums and tests DP and I have been told me need ICSI (a form of IVF) We have been on the waiting list now for 7 months, but still have a very long wait to go! The joys of NHS waiting lists!

Hope u are all hanging in there!

Hello again another one reporting back in with no success, if somebody would be so kind as to put me back to CD2 and onto cycle 25 that would be most helpful.

Seems this hasn't been the greatest week ever for results, however maybe that means we're just about to have several BFPs all at once! Who's up for testing this week?

So one month down and the CBFM is doing exactly what I'd hoped and at least letting me know that I appear to at least occasionally ovulate!

In other news I've now got a date to see the fertility consultant - need to really focus on making sure BMI acceptable by then for all options to be available. (Have just got back from a week of boot camp in the lakes and have lost 11.5lb so goal definately within reach!)

NewMember interesting to hear you're going down the icsi route, from reading that seemed to be for when DHs swimmers were on the undermotivated side which we think is part of our problems... if not too nosy a question is that how come you've been suggested to go there?

Best wishes and positive energy to all!

flyingcat - what an amazing result from your bootcamp! I too am needing to reduce my BMI as on NHS fertility testing (though bizarrely it was ok now got worse, stress I guess!) All the best.

Nanny01 · 25/04/2010 15:01

Now peaks ofr highs for me this month feel really down. Hoping to go back to the gym next week as my youngest is at nursery now and I am braving the doctors to asl them to look at my left ankle which still isn't right after a nasty fall last summer. Wish me luck

Nanny01 · 25/04/2010 15:02

I ment to say no peaks or highs

Medee · 25/04/2010 17:05

what will happen if I don't give my CBFM a stick?

Today is day 6 - which is the same day it asked for the first stick last cycle. Given my cycle length (and I am on the borderline for using this thing) 20 sticks later and I still might not have hit a peak. I didn't switch it on until after my FMU, so didn't do one today, but as I am just about to go away for a few days, would like to wait until day 11. What do you reckon, will it spontaneously combust?

NewMember · 25/04/2010 19:40

Hello FlyingCat,

Yea after about 14 months of trying very hard and with the help of the CBFM, things were just not happening for us!

We decided to seek medical advive and things went from there. The results have shown that DP has low spem and poor mobility.

ICSI is our hope basically, they say we have a very gd chance of it being positive as I am young and we are in gd health etc!

Have u had any tests?

hi girls. can i please join. we are ttc no#2, we used cbfm for our dd and although my cycles are long we got lucky the first month we used it. i know they say not to use it if you have pcos but i though id give it a go and we are so glad we did. im currently on cd19, 3 day of high so i assume ill have another 2 days of high at least, as im starting from scratch again. but what i want to know is why or how does it give you so many high days first month then says it will know for the following month and migh give you only 2. i dont understand this. does it ALWAYS give you 5 highs on first month of using, did anyone get less than that and go straight to peak. could i get more than 5 days of high. I JUST WANT A PEAK !!!
also....how often should we be bd when its on high?
sorry its so long.

Hi - I get between 2 and 4 high's each month, so each of us is different. Personally I bd once every two days when high, which is advice my fertility dr gave me. All the best !

BabyHoping · 26/04/2010 10:08

First high day for me today. I was really low, just like you Nanny wondering what was going on this month, but at least got my first high today... Let´s see how the other days go no now.

This month I decided to BD with less intensity and go for quality so I will only BD every two days. Anyone else doing this? It´s hard to have the monitor telling you its high and not BD...

Boba any news for you? I´ve had a specific time in my life when i was having lots of 42-46 day cycles and I was still ovulating. It´s just that ovulation was happening really late. If this is your case, I would try to remove any sources that can delay ovulation (alcohol, coffee, stress, even some sources mention too many meat intake...) and take some vitamins and folic acid (it seems it can also stimulate fertility). Also, if you expect your cycles to be always that long, you can "trick" the monitor and start counting day one only 4 or 5 days into the cycle. This will give you a few extra days after the 42 days. From what I understood, the reason why the monitor is only for cycles below 42 days is due to the fact that cycles longer than this are usually anovulatory cycles (what is not always the case).

Another question, having irregular and long cycles is that a reason to try Clomid? I was thinking about mentioning it to our doctor, as having longer cycles decreases our chances of conceiving when compared to a normal couple, but I´m not sure if he will take it seriously or just say we have to keep trying the normal way... i understand some doctors do not want to give it in the case you are ovulating as it might trigger multi-ovulation and twins... ;-)

BabyHoping · 26/04/2010 10:32

Keziah, I just saw your last message, so let me make you another question. If you BD every two days on the high, do you apply the same for the peak days or on these days do you BD everyday? I´m really interested on this topic as DH last month complained that we were doing so much (everyday for 8 days) that on the peak days he felt the volume that was coming out was much less. Did your doctor gave you any reasons also for the every two days?
Thank you!

Morning all, god I am still suffering my bday hangover .

Hello to newmember and taytotayto.

Thanks Lychees, had a lovely day and too lovely an evening apparently as still suffering the consequences!

flying Well done hun on all that weight loss, that's amazing!

babyhoping still no AF but the CBFM is still counting my CDs and has not blown up yet! I'm pretty sure I'm not ovulating but will find out for sure when I get my blood results but that's not until 7th May. I will try your trick next cycle, whenever that may be .

My GP did not want prescribe Clomid as it's not just twins/triplets it can cause but octuplets etc so he thought it better to leave to specialists, just the 9 month wait list for them though but at least I'll be on it.

How are you feeling now?

boba82 · 26/04/2010 11:43

Nanny Hope you're feeling a wee bit better hun, I've been really down this month too, no peaks for me either . It's like a TTC rollercoaster sometimes isn't it.

medee I've never denied it a stick so not sure. Take cover next time you turn it on!!

BabyHoping · 26/04/2010 12:06

Hi medee, I have skipped sticks on the monitor before for the same reason as you. When you don´t test, the monitor will go the next day and ask you for another stick, it´s just that it will not have info on that particular day and will use previous data.
I would say that by doing this you might miss the highs (the monitor needs to compare a low estrogen day which are ususally the days after AF), specially if you have an irregular cycle. Also, once the monitor "learns you, it will start asking for sticks later, right now mine starts asking me for sticks on day 9.

Another thing, I do not know if this helps, but in one of my cycles I was surprised with an earlier ovulation at day 14 (peaks 14 and 15) and the monitor did not identified any highs, don´t know if by lack of estrogen or by the surprise... ;-). Right now I don´t skip any sticks cause I prefer beeing on the safe side and not loose my chances... but I doubt that those first samples are important with big cycles

babybutterfly · 26/04/2010 12:39

Hi
I am so pleased to have found this thread, I am so completely frazzled by everything and just don't know what to do next. Having come off the pill just over 18months ago, and having endometriosis my periods are still really really erratic. Bought the CBFM and started using it at the beginning of my cycle this month. I had the longest period in the world (12days) and have used 20 sticks, not had a flicker of a high or peak day and now on day 26 it's flashing M. Does anyone have any advice? My stupid cycle can be 28 days flat upwards to 62 days, do I need to bite the bullet and go to the drs????

Medee · 26/04/2010 13:17

thanks BH

Pamsie · 26/04/2010 17:32

Hello BabyHoping,

Could you please update my stats? I'm now on day 11 and it's a high already!
Here's hoping this month is the one.

cupc4kes · 26/04/2010 20:10

Hi All

Not been on for ages so hello again but I didnt get my BFP so if you could change my stats please xxx
How weird is this though Im on day 19 and Im still getting highs but Ive been having highs since day 8 and no peak!! Has this happened to anyone else or is my monitor knackered? Someone said maybe Im pregnant and thats why it keeps showing highs but Ive done 2 tests and they were both BFN so someone please help xxxx

Keziahhopes · 26/04/2010 21:56

babyhoping - the fertility consultant said every other day, even with high on monitor -- only saw him in March. Reason being replenishment of semen, quality of semen and also the semen does live for up to 5 days.

It has certainly reduced our stress, and as had 18mths with no bfp am willing to follow fertility consultant's advice, especially as dh's just normal on semen analysis.

Will ask more when go in June, when will probably get test ordered for blocked fallopian tubes and go back in October!!

Cupcakes - I have had one month out of 8mths with CBFP with 23 high's! No bfp sadly for me, no reason could think of, and following month thankfully cycle went back to more normal. I wonder whether I didnt' ovulate or whether it was becasue I used up all my odd sticks rather than start a new packet.
