Hamsterlover Whoopeeee you got a BFP on my birthday as well! I've got a lucky birthday you know

My hubby's now cooking pork medallions in a cider/cream sauce with fresh green beans and potatoes. I love being married to a chef.

Whiteroses thanks for asking after MIL, she's LOVELY and I was really really worried about her. She sounds okay, she lives an hour away and the roads were so bad that she told me not to come over; she has her other son with her at the house so she's not on her own. She's only 72 and a young one at that; she was a headteacher and has experience teaching SN kids too, she still travels around the country doing consultancy work and she's also mad keen on her gardening so does stuff with other gardens too. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she gets back to full health (she whiplashed herself last christmas falling off the loft ladder (!!) and her neck's sore again now, plus she's started feeling low back pain with leg pain so the physio was going to visit her at the house today). We sent her some homemade paper flowers made out of my niece's handprints, cut out and stapled onto straws with 'leaves' and stuff, today. She's going to love them!

Hello to Capricorn and anyone else who is new! I'll be back when I've read all the posts properly to catch up.

xxx

sparklyrainbow · 11/01/2010 20:29

Yay, congrats WhiteRoses and hamsterlover and Happy Birthday Calyx, sounds like you're being spoilt!

Hello Capricorn and Newcastle as well (I'm quite new too!)

This thread is looking rosy at the moment, fingers crossed it pays off for some more of us...

I've had some possible symptoms but most are accountable for sadly, did enough BD around the correct time so really should be pregnant IMO but am still playing the waiting game . How about you Hobnob?

fudgecat · 11/01/2010 20:41

Hi everyone

Can i join you please? You seem to be getting results, two BFP's in one day is great news!!!

Anyway a bit about me...

Myself and DP have decided to TTC for our 1st and this is our third cycle of trying and i have just started the 2WW... Our 1st cycle ended in either a CP or a very early MC, im not sure which it tho, i got a BFP then 4 days after AF was due she arrived. I didnt bother going to the docs and just put it down to "one of those things"

Im still trying to get my head around becoming a parent as i still dont feel "grown-up" enough (im 32 btw!) i hope guess its normal to feel like this? My DP made me smile yesterday in the supermarket by pointing at the pregnancy tests and asking if we needed any

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 11/01/2010 21:53

Forgot to mention earlier, welcome to capricorn and congratualations to hamsterlover! Two in one day is fab. i hope we've hit a fertile spot this month. Fingers crossed for all of those coming up to testing.

Also, welcome to fudgecat. I don't think its unusual to not feel grown up enough. We've been at this TTC lark for ages and I sometimes wonder if I'm ready to be a Mum. It's pretty scary, life-changing stuuf, I think it wouldn't be odd if we weren't a bit apprehensive.

Quick update from me. DH goes to give his sample at the andrology clinic tomorrow and I have to drop my swab sample off at the GPs and then the first round of testing is done and we start the 2ww. When I go to the GP I'll make an appointment for the end of the month, so we can get our results and talk about the next steps. I think the next stage will be a referal to the fertility clinic for more tests for me and then a discussion of possible treatment options. Not that we will need it, we are going to do this all by ourselves come February!

I'm feeling quite optimistic, there is obviously lots of babydust on this thread at the moment.

chalky3 · 11/01/2010 21:58

Congratulations hamster and whiteroses, love the extra long post, that's the excitement for you!

Welcome to the madness capricorn, it's a good day to join us!

Happy birthday calyx, it's DH's birthday too so he's been getting spoiled as well. Hope you've had a good day!

Hope things start to pick up for you soon kkas.

Feeling really weird today - bloated, dizzy, nauseous, tired. Feels like extreme premenstrual symptoms so I think I'm in for a nasty one this month. With any luck this means my cycles are returning to 'normal' after the first few months being quite erratic and not as painful as pre-pill AFs.

Todays BFPs have really cheered me up, there's hope for us all yet!

WOOHOO!!!! IM BACK IN THE GAME! FIIIIIIIIINALLY got a proper period after FOUR LONG MONTHS! Its amazing what stress can do to a girl eh?! Now that the 'stressor' i was experiencing is gone...i can relax and baby dance till the cows come home!! WOOOOOHOO!

Congratulations to all those who got the BFP. (yes i realise im the only one cheering for AF, but I needed it!)

Good luck girls!!!

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 11/01/2010 23:03

Ooops, not sure what gremlin in my laptop got me sending the same post 3 times. Sorry.

Congratualtions homebound on your AF!! (there's something I didn't expect to be saying on this thread.

bunnygirl80 · 11/01/2010 23:12

The in laws have gone to the beach for a couple of hours so am sneaking on here quickly!

Massive congratulations to whiteroses and hamster. I can't believe we got 2 BFPs in one day.

Whiteroses if I were you I would tell my manager at work asap about being pg. Your job isn't like a desk job where being pg doesn't change things. I know when I was working on hospital wards we were expected to let them know asap so that duties could be changed to avoid having to lift patients etc.

I know what you mean about being heavily pregnant and the heat. If I don't get a BFP in the next couple of months we might take a break from TTC as I don't think I could face a January/February baby in this climate.

Homebound well done on getting AF! (it's not often we say that here) Hopefully your cycles will settle down again now.

I think AFs due in 2 days (going by when I think I ov'd) but I've got no signs of it, and I normally start to get nausea/cramps about 3 days before. My temps are still up as well, and they usually drop pretty sharply after 8dpo. I'm really hoping this is a good sign, although I am not in anyway symptom spotting......yeah right

Ozziegirly · 12/01/2010 00:08

WHOOOOOOO congratulations Whiteroses and hamsterlover that really is brilliant news!

Welcome to all the new TTCers as well, this is a really great, friendly thread.

No real news from me. Am 8 weeks today, have my scan in 2 weeks. Feel fine. Bit fat as I am eating like a woman crazed and not doing as much in the gym, but no sickness so far. Still think at the scan they will tell me I have imagined the whole thing.

Good luck with anyone coming up to testing soon xx

wow, congratulations WhiteRoses and hamsterlover - two in a day, at this rate I fully expect to be pregnant next month!

chalky3 · 12/01/2010 10:50

Welcome fudgecat yorkshire I did wonder what was going on with your posts!

homebund, congratulations on AF !

I was so convinced AF was on it's way until yesterdays extreme symptoms, now I'm not sure what I think. Also have REALLY sore breasts but they always get sore before AF. It's funny how the symptoms for both AF and pregnancy are so similar and interpreting them depends on which way you look at it. 2 BFPs in one day is changing my perspective, not sure I can hold off testing until the weekend now but don't want the dissapointment of a BFN!

whiteroses how did you get on telling your boss? Glad your family were so happy for you.

hamster, have you told anyone yet?

hamsterlover · 12/01/2010 11:23

Thanks guys - still can't believe it really! Same as whiteroses I am still expecting AF to come.

Told Dh when he got in from work last night -got him to close his eyes and held the test in front of him. He opened his eyes and there was a moment of shock followed by wow! one very happy man . We have decided not to tell anyone for the time being, not even parents. We are going to enjoy just us knowing for a while but will tell parents/sisters in a few weeks.
Calyx you will have to have a birthday every month!

Realise that I have been a bit insensitive, and hope that I haven't upset anyone, sorry if I have.

Symptoms have been a really sore stomach - woke up last sun night because of it and it continued on and off throughout the week, in the day and night. It wasn't cramping just really sore, and sometimes it hurt down my leg as well. Had sore boobs but they ussually get sore before af anyway but thy were sore on top as well as at the sides!

So, 2010 is off to a good start - must be lots of baby dust around and I fully expect that everyone will have BFPs by the end of the year

kkas · 12/01/2010 12:05

first of all - no need for apologies whiteroses and hamster (if that one was aimed at me). i am so so so pleased for you guys (i echo mumnerves that although i sometimes feel down about people in RL getting BFPs, i am always so happy for you guys!) think it's cuz we're all in it together supporting each other. anyway, i was not offended at all and am sorry if i brought any damper on your perfect days! btw i loved how you guys told your DHs and can't wait to hear how you get on with the pgs.

aly thanks for your message. i think you're right about getting to know your cycle. that is helping me to feel that i am still being proactive even if it's not in all the areas that are normally used for baby-making! and we still do have good sex when there isn't as much pressure even if it's not as often or at the times that i would like. i have to just let go and accept that one of these times it will all come together. not sure what to say about the bicycling issue, although i'm sure it's good for your DH to be active so maybe it's not all that bad?

welcome fudgecat sorry to hear about your MMC/CP. hope you find the support you need in this journey and that some of the babydust rubs off on you soon! i've added you to our list, but not sure which cycle day you are on or UCL. let us know and we'll add you properly.

yorkshire thanks for keeping us informed about your tests. can't wait to hear how you get on.

homebound congrats on AF. i assume you were Day 1 yesterday, but let me know if your update has gone off a bit.

Oops WhiteRoses, I crossed posts with you yesterday so was helpfully () giving you advice on who to tell when you had decided already Hope that it went well with your boss today. I felt really emotional when you were talking about telling your mum. I don't think my mum is going to be very pleased at all, for a number of reasons, if and when I finally get pg, and I am a bit envious of your lovely relationship. LOL at her asking if you had "any news" - Mum's just seem to have a sixth sense, don't they!
Oh, and your sisters comment about the watermelon made my eyes water!

Welcome fudgecat and capricorn - cap, your doctors sound like they are really on the ball. Thats really encouraging.

Homebound - hooray for AF! Welcome back to the bottom of the list

Kkas - am for your dilemma. Counselling might really help, but at the same time its an awful and awkward thing to bring up. Am hoping for your sake that your DH just miraculously relaxes over the next few months.

Calyx - Happy birthday for yesterday! In all the excitement I forgot to say!

Yorks - good luck with your samples! Although obviously you are probably knocked up already!!

I know this is a bit mad, considering that Im not even pg, but I found myself thinking yesterday how weird it will be to be on a new thread with new people when it finally does happen. I'm really hoping that some of you guys get your BFP when I do so that we can all be on the same thread together! Should be the last of my worries considering that I seem to be a barren old hag, but its so nice to have friendly faces around! And the last few months, people have always got their BFP's in a group!

Calyx · 12/01/2010 14:48

Hi everyone We've been sent home from work today at lunchtime as the health centre where I work has lost power and heat! So I (a physio) was trying to assess one lady with hip pain, in her jeans as it was too cold to strip - not happening, poor lady! Thank heavens we could cancel the afternoon patients and just go home. So now I get to come onto MN without DH hogging the computer yay!

I was going to scroll up and say hello to each person but you know what, it's just tooooo long. I'm going to try and keep updated from now on. I really hope no-one minds.

Well it's day 6 of my new cycle and AF is almost gone thank heavens. Pre-season friendlies can commence again (love that phrase and so does DH! Well done hobnob!) and my sore sinuses are going away too so things are looking better. I was really feeling low for a while.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, I did have a nice day

Whiteroses my niece is 4 at the end of this month. She's my Dsis's wee one and is GORGEOUS. It was my Dsis's idea to do the flowers and I was stunned and amazed at how gorgeous they were. I sent them through the post yesterday to MIL who is really going to love them. She is feeling quite a lot better but still headachy and weak/fatigued, although says she is better every day. Phew I'm so pleased.

Hope everyone is keeping warm and having a good day

CurlyCasper · 12/01/2010 15:50

Hi all, just a quickie to say massive congrats to white and hamster. I'm delighted for you and wish you both happy, healthy pregnancies (she says from her sinusitis sick bed at 13 weeks gone...well, didn't have morning sickness so shouldn't grumble !)

fulhamgirl · 12/01/2010 15:56

Aww congratultions guys with the BFP'S!!

Just to let you know all went well with the second scan and im having a little girl !! Now the dreaded wait!! Bet it goes so slow lol!!

Good luck all

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

pixiestix · 12/01/2010 15:57

Awwww, Fulham, a girl!!! How lovely!!!!

OP posts:
kkas · 12/01/2010 16:21

fulham i had a feeling it was a girl for you for some reason! am so excited and i bet the scan was magical

homebound · 12/01/2010 16:37

You know, I never thought Id be so happy to have AF, but you guys are amazing understanding why I needed it so badly....

Congrats Fulham! So happy for you I cant even say!

Loving reading everyone's stories as couldnt bear to come on when AF wouldnt show her ugly face, so glad to be back!

chalky3 · 12/01/2010 18:52

homebound it must have been torture waiting for AF for so long, it's hard enough having a 2 week window when AF could appear, I don't know how you managed!

fulham congrats on the news about a little girl. She will be here before you know it!

Hope you're feeling better soon curly pixie I'm sure you're no a 'barren old hag'! You're on cycle 7, there's still hope yet though I know how you feel!
