Welcome DrewsGirl this is the BEST thread so well done for finding us! I've been trying for 8 months and I know it may sound awful of me, but I'm feeling comforted that it's not just 'old' people like me (38) that can take a while to conceive. If you tell us the following we can put you on 'the list' and you can see if you have anyone on the same day as you in the cycle, it's good when you know others are at the same stage and can come on and commiserate/share symptoms/rant/laugh:
TTC#1 (as you're a first time frolicker!) Cycle 8 (or whatever, however many months you have been trying) UCL = usual cycle length (days between 'AF'(aunt flo arrives) or period starting and the next one starting) and then CD or cycle day (however many days it's been since AF arrived this cycle).
And best of luck! This is a LUCKY thread and there have been a lot of BFP's (or Big Fat Positives on the pregnancy tests!) recently, I'm very proud that there were two on my birthday!
CurlyCasper oooooh huge sympathy for your sinusitis, isn't it the most HORRIBLE thing you can get?! I always get really moody and depressed when my face is sore. I hope you feel much much better soon. Excellent about having no morning sickness!
Fulhamgirl Wow a girl! Awwwwwww! Any names or are you going to keep them to yourself until she's arrived? I would be so excited. Good for you!
Homebound I missed you before, I'm sorry, it's brilliant that AF did decide to show up, I really feel for you having to wait as long as that. I would have been going up the wall. Shiny new cycle! Fingers crossed that AF stays away for the RIGHT reason this month
Pixiestix I know exactly what you mean when you say you feel like a 'barren old hag' and I was calling myself that when AF arrived last week. DH was looking worried and I know he is starting to wonder if it's 'him' because he's 42 and really knew how to party when he was younger. I'm now cycle 8 but my twin took 3 YEARS to get pg when she and her husband were trying, and she started at 31 or 32. But on the other side - 7 and 8 months isn't really that long in the grand scheme of things. And we can enjoy long lie ins, doing nothing when we want to, sleeping unbroken nights etc etc etc. In fact sometimes I wonder if I will be able to adjust to having to look after a tiny baby/toddler/schoolchild/teenager when I've been able to be selfish old me for so long. But I wanna! Race you to a BFP
Capricorn76 I've just spent some time reading up the thread and noticed about your single tube and your hospital bookings. That's brilliant they're behind you. My RL friend had very similar issues to yours (and also a colostomy bag due to bowel issues poor thing), BUT she got PG on her third IVF and she's now very heavily pg with twins Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
I think I would LOVE twins and I am one but my mum keeps saying 'no you wouldn't' with a huge laugh...!
Chalky did you test? did you? Oooooh I'm keeping my eye on you! I know what you mean about AF and pg symptoms being the EXACT SAME it is very frustrating. CD33 looks promising, have you had many longer cycles? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you too
Hamsterlover Awww I had a big grin when I was reading how you told your DH. I hope the sore tummy and leg doesn't last too long. It's good to know your booby pain was different from your usual booby pain something to check for on my next 2WW!
Oh Sevans big huge hugs and I don't care if the MN hug police come and get me. What a horrible horrible thing for you. I'm really glad you're out of hospital and as others have said, I hope you just recover quickly and feel ready to come back to TTC as soon as possible. Get into your biggest, fluffiest pyjamas, and dressing gown and fuzzy slippers, bring the duvet onto the sofa, get some funny movies on the TV and get yourself back to full health. I'm sending you good vibes to get back to normal soon.
Evilgiraffe sounds like implantation bleed to me - perfect timing for it anyway and only a small amount. I'm hoping for you too! Also I LOVE your name
Whiteroses if you started a First Time Frolickers Graduates thread I would go on and stalk you because I love your posts. And I love how you conceived on a movie-romantic love fest with DH instead of a quickie 'chore' type shag such as I've been making DH do around the usual time of the cycle! Honestly sometimes it's (TMI alert...) just like 'can you come over here a minute babes... hmmmm let's see... rrrrowr' and then 2 mins later I'm lying on my back with my knees to my chest for 20 minutes thinking 'okay. swim! swim for your lives!'
My time off was excellent BUT of course I'll have to re-book all the patients that I couldn't see this afternoon... and my diary is full for another week (busy with the ice and falls and my normal patients/waiting list etc) so it's going to be more hassle than happiness! Didn't stop me going to bed for an hour at 4pm just because I could and because it was FREEZING though
WorrisomeHeart heee heee good luck with the BD
Fudgecat it is good to come on here and bare all the worries, laughs etc about TTC isn't it. A few of my colleagues at work know (two of them are pg with their second babies and getting bigger every day, I just couldn't keep it quiet as they would keep talking about it, it slipped out that I was TTC and I really wish it hadn't as they KEEP ASKING how it's going grrrrr), my mum and sister know, and DH's mum knows. But I wouldn't tell them the stuff that we can talk about here - symptoms and all that. DH's mum is all excited and she sent me a letter 2 weeks ago, all that was in it was a newspaper clipping about how to up your fertility levels - stop smoking, eat healthy, have acupuncture and stuff! And when I saw her at Christmas she asked 'so what are you doing about TTC then'.... and realised what she said and actually blushed! I think she meant have we been to see the doctor or anything but it did come out quite funny
I've rambled on for far too long now. I hope I haven't missed anyone. It's such a fast thread! Lots of luck to everyone
