Hello lovely well-wishers.

well, baby is fine. 12-week scan pic now on my profile. Unfortunately the docs have deemed mum to be medically difficult and are forcing me to have a consultant-led labour and birth. But at least that means i get good drugs

Hi Ful glad to hear things are moving along quickly for you too.

To everyone else, happy thoughts and good wishes as always - boy you Frolickers chat a lot! (I know, i've got a cheek!) You are so hard to keep up with

kkas · 08/01/2010 12:32

fulham glad to see you found us. I was really starting to miss you. good luck at the scan. can't believe you're nearly halfway there and will be finding out the sex soon. so exciting!!!

curly love the pic. so nice to hear that you will be well looked after leading up to the birth and get good drugs! bet it was a lovely experience having the scan.

Fulham - so good to hear from you!! Time has flown by, I can't believe you are on the verge of finding out the sex of your baby! Harry and Lily are fab names btw!

Curly - that pic made me go all wobbly! Not a little jelly baby anymore!

OP posts:
Kaloki · 08/01/2010 18:29

Hey everyone. Just a quick one to say it'll be longer than a week till I'm back, having serious housing problems right now (no heating, gas leak to name a few) and can only get online through my mobile. Will try and get on to see how you're all doing as much as I can. Good luck everyone!

addie81 · 08/01/2010 23:01

hi everyone, hope you are surviving the freezing weather. for once Scotland is not the coldest place in the UK which makes me very smug to live up here for a change! I have my pre-seed, which was delivered yesterday, and I am waiting for "taking charge of your fertility" and " zita west's guide to getting pregnant" to arrive from amazon, hopefully in plenty of time for me to learn any new tips before the crucial time of the month! fingers crossed for an early january BFP for someone soon. thanks for the pregnant girls for giving their updates - its lovely to know that it actually can happen! xdx

Hobnob76 · 08/01/2010 23:20

mumnerves sorry AF got you Its difficult to be happy when someone you know announces their BFP whilst you're TTC, my friend announced hers recently, so I know how you feel

Thanks WhiteRoses nice to know someone else at the same stage

Newcastle16 welcome!

Calyx sorry to hear AF came, hope MIL gets better soon, also hope you get rid of the cold soon too!

Zippys hope you find the books useful, what have you ordered ?

addie hope you learn lots from your books, pass any tips this way please!

As for me, not much to report. Had a horrendous headache for much of today, along with a bit of backache and twisty pains in my tummy, but I'm not going to symptom spot honest!

mumnerves · 08/01/2010 23:33

Thanks all you crazy baby ladies for your lovely words You may all be crazy but all amazingly supportive

calyx sorry to hear about AF and hope MIL feels better soon!

Thank you also to those of you who got your BFP, and encouraging words, I'm feeling more positive today and at least you're all proof it can happen to us!

Hobnob76 Good luck, hope you get a BFP!

Can't wait to see the first BFP of the year! Good luck everyone testing this weekend!

chalky3 · 09/01/2010 10:22

Hi curly and fulham, great to hear how you're getting on reminds us all that there is light at the end of the TTC tunnel!

Good luck with your house problems Kaloki.

Sorry to hear about AF and your MIL calyx, hope you're both feeling better soon.

I'm AF symptom spotting now, when did I start being so negative about the whole TTC thing?! It just feels like it's never going to happen for us. I guess this is why mumsnet is great, reminds us all that we are not alone.

mumsnerves I know how it feels, seems like everyone I know is pregnant at the moment. It never used to bother me that much when people said to us that we should have children but after several months of TTC I feel like shouting 'we're trying, give us a chance!'. It does make me wonder how many couples we know in RL who are going through the same thing but don't let on, just like us.

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 09/01/2010 11:25

Morning all,

Hi curly and fulham, great to hear how you're getting on. Thanks fordropping in and letting us know that some of uus do actually go on to have BFPs!

Hope your house problems are soon sorted Kaloki, this is a bad time of year for teh gas to be off - I hope you're not too cold.

Sorry to hear about AF calyx, really sympathise about cycle 8 - feels like its going on for ever. But some of us just take a bit longer but we will get there (witness Ozziegirly last month ). I hope you're both feeling better soon and that January is your month.

addie hope the books help. I borrowed Zita West's book off a friend and its been really good. It focuses onoptimising your chances of natural conception, but the second half of the book looks at possible problems and assisted conception, which I have found really helpful. (My friend never got that far - she got pregnant on cycle three - grrr). I think being informed helps. Also, there are lots of small things you can do to try and maximise your body's chances, which can make you feel like you are a like more in control of the process.

Chalky - I know what you mean about "I feel like shouting 'we're trying, give us a chance!'". I am often tempted to respond, "we would but I'm a barren old hag", which I hope isn't the case, but it would at least shut people up!

I am gearing up for BDing action over the next week or so. It is becoming something of a chore now. Thankfully DH seems to be consistantly up for it , so its only me who needs to dredge up the enthusiasm. I don't think charting helps me in this respect as I tend to look at the chart and think, ooh, we haven't done it for three days, we'll have to do it tonight. This was so much more fun when it was unscheduled and optional...

Muser · 09/01/2010 11:59

Hello everyone. I've been a bit quiet as I don't really have anything to report. Don't think I'm going to be graduating this month, just hanging on for next month.

Pidgin · 09/01/2010 15:46

hello everyone, can I join in please?

Officially speaking we are not really trying to conceive but 'not preventing pregnancy' - i.e. I am working on not going crazy planning everything and instead we will just go with the flow and see what happens... but I think that still counts as first-time frolicking, right?

So excited finally to be adding my stats to one of these lists... I don't have the confidence that I can update the list without messing it up, so could someone add me, please:

Pidgin TTC#1 cycle 1 UCL29-30 CD10

Thank you!

PS - CurlyCasper, delighted to hear things are going so well for you, congratulations!

Pidgin · 09/01/2010 15:47

and hello to other former waiting to TTCers too!

mumnerves · 09/01/2010 19:21

Welcome Pidgin!

Chalky I know what you mean, my mum and MIL are pestering us and I just feel like screaming ffs, just mind your own business! The one thing I do know is that I will never ever ask anyone if they want children again!
I'm also gearing up for BD again, just started temping this month and got some Ovulations tests so we'll have a smaller window soon and that will hopefully take the pressure off having to bd over 7-10 days

bunnygirl80 · 10/01/2010 03:52

Hi everyone. Not much time to post as in-laws here and don't want them seeing me on MN! Very little to report at the moment - AF due today but no sign, but was expecting long cycle as I ov'd late. Will test next Saturday I think.

Will try and check thread properly when I get a chance!

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 10/01/2010 13:05

Welcome pidgin. Taking the view that you are NPP rather than TTC is a pretty good one i think. That's what we did initially and its made the fact that it seems to be taking us a while so much easier as for the first few months I wasn't particularly trying, we just thought we'd see what happens. Good luck and I hope you hang on to your laid back approach.

Hooray!!!! our internet is back on Lots to catch up with!

Welcome to all the newbies

Lovely to hear from you fulham, glad everything is going so well. And Curly, your scan is fantastic

Kaloki, hope things get sorted for you soon, we've had a few short lived power cuts here, but, nothing as serious as yours sounds.

Thankyou for all the birthday wishes for last Monday - Whiteroses, they are diamond solitaires, set in 18ct white gold - perfect

I'm in the DTD stage and trying to get as much in as possible without it feeling like too much of a chore - I know how you feel Yorkshire, luckily like yours, my DH is always up for it

Sorry I haven't replied to everyone - so much to catch up with, but, at least I can keep up to date from now on.

chalky3 · 10/01/2010 19:02

Think AF is on the way as I have all the symptoms. If there's no sign by next Saturday I'll be joining you in testing bunny. It's DH's birthday next week and we have a night out with friends planned then so I will want to know whether it's safe to drink or not (as well as if I'm pregnant, of course!) Not sure how I would disguise it if there was a BFP but I guess that is one concern none of us would mind having! Really don't think it's something I'll need to worry about this month though.

Welcome back claireinthecommunity! mumsnerves, I've stopped asking others whether they want babies too. A work colleague suggested that we should start a family today, guess she didn't have any difficulty TTC her two!

kkas · 11/01/2010 11:19

hi guys - back to BD drama for me. DH still having his confidence issues and it is really hard for me not to get emotional about it. just finding it very difficult at the moment and i know it is affecting our relationship. not really sure what to do as when i took the pressure off for a few months, although we didn't have these issues as much, we just didn't really have sex either. either way it means no chance of getting pg. very today. am thinking maybe we need counseling/sex therapy and was looking at the relate website today. has anyone been through this before? do you think it's worth suggesting to DH or is that just likely to make matters worse?
