SparklyRainbow welcome, you and I care on the same cycle day.

chance welcome, hope you have a short stay here!

Curly and Claire hope you both had good birthday's

kkas would love a hot choccie! Mmmmmm

As for me, this month seems to be going so slow! We only TTC casually last month, so this month is the 1st that we've really gone for it. I think I'm about 3/4 or 5dpo (don't temp so not actually 100% sure when I OV'd but had + OPK on CD 14)nothing to report, just that I'm finding the 2WW hard going!

Kaloki · 06/01/2010 11:31

Lots of new people! Welcome everyone!

pixiestix · 06/01/2010 12:39

Welcome Chance and Sparkly!

Belated birthday wishes to Curly and Claire. I can't believe that you are on your second trimester Curly - that has flown by!

Sorry AF is imminent Calyx It never gets any easier, does it.

I hit peak on my monitor today so am about to ovulate any second now
I feel pretty bleak though this month, no idea why. As if all this is a bit pointless because its never going to happen for me. Seven cycles is quite a long time to keep getting your hopes up so I suppose its natural, and you never know, I might get a lovely surprise this month! But at the minute I could really do with a duvet day to hide from the world Not the best mood to accost DH in!

Evening all,

Welcome Chance and Sparkly, lovely to have you join the gang.

Calyx to hear that AF is on its way. Hopefully cycle 8 will be your lucky cycle! In the meantime, kkas has some hot chocolate on offer - so go indulge yourself!

Good luck to all those of us in and around the BDing zone. It can be difficult to pin point the best time (and I really relate to your point about not getting worn out too soon kkas!) but keep going and remember, its supposed to be fun!

Chin up Pixie. Hope you manage to accost your DH. It's cold outside - just the right conditions for an early bedtime . Fingers crossed you get one of our first BFPs of the new year.

WhiteRoses sounds like santa was good to you! Its frustrating that TTC isn't more of an exact science.

Kaloki I echo WhiteRoses' question - are you planning to go to the docs? Also, WhiteRoses, do you have any plans to talk to the docs about your irregular cycles?

Heres hoping for more BFPs soon. Good luck to all

There's nothing wrong with you WhiteRoses - I like your long posts!

If you're getting EWCM and are pretty confident that you are ovulating, then you are right to not be concerned at this early stage. I think you're right, it is probably too early to go to the GP, they would probably just tell you to wait and see anyway. Which is the best course of action. Its early days for you yet and you've bags of time.

If there's one thing I've learnt over the past few months, its that conception is an art (and a dark one at that!) not a science and sometimes we just have to be patient. Not always easy...

sparklyrainbow · 06/01/2010 20:17

Thank you for the nice welcome

Thought that when I added myself Hobnob, I think I ov'd weekend just gone but tbh don't really know for sure so just waiting now. Time really seems to slow down in the 2WW doesn't it!

Fingers crossed for everyone...

Kaloki · 06/01/2010 20:31

I'm waiting to see what happens this cycle. Got so much to do right now, I just don't have time. (Moving house tomorrow - as long as the snow doesn't cause more problems)

If my period appears early I will go right away, otherwise I'm waiting till I'm on around day 35 of this cycle to go to GP. Unless of course I get a BFP, though I'm not expecting to this month. I think I OV'd the other day, so we shall see what happens. I'm praying that AF turns up on day 28 like it used to!

Kaloki · 06/01/2010 20:32

Also, good luck to everyone for the next week or so, I shall be thinking of you, but may be going a while without the net while we switch over.

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 06/01/2010 20:45

Good luck with the house move Kaloki. Fingers crossed you'll be nesting in your new nest before long!

chancewouldbeafinething · 06/01/2010 21:29

Cheers for the warm welcome all
Hope that everyone avoided the cold weather and stayed in instead.
I am trying not to imagine any signs that this cycle might be the one...had a good chat to my sister today who told me that she never had any signs of being pregnant or morning sickness in either of her pregnancies.....so patience is apparently the answer for now

Hobnob76 · 06/01/2010 21:36

Sparkly not sure when I OV'd exactly either but it was prob the same weekend as you. Yep I swear it does go slower! I spend ages waiting to try, don't know which is worse, waiting to try or waiting in the 2WW!

kaloki hope the move goes well

bunnygirl80 · 06/01/2010 22:06

Good luck with the move kaloki Whiteroses Don't worry about your long posts, I love the way you always find something to say to everybody here. Sounds like santa was very generous to you. I got a dressing gown and some games for my Wii. Unfortunately my Wii is on a boat somewhere between the UK and Oz so I won't be able to play them until March.......patience is a virtue I suppose. If only I could apply that thinking to TTC!

Welcome chancewouldbeafinething I've noticed that most of the people who get BFPs seem to be the ones saying that for once they have no symptoms-so perhaps we should all be "lack of symptom spotting". Certainly none of my RL friends with children ever had any symptoms.

I think my DH is finally getting excited about TTC (although he has been excited about the extra bd all along!). I was really hungry all day yesterday and he kept asking me if I thought I was eating for two. And he keeps stroking my tummy, which he never ever does! It's quite sweet but will have to put a stop to it next week as his parents are staying with us, and don't want them to know what we're up to (thankfully they're here during 2ww/AF rather than BD time as the walls here are thin )

mumnerves · 06/01/2010 22:32

Hi all
Firstly welcome chancewouldbeafinething and good luck with the move kaloki

Thanks for all the lovely thoughts ladies but af last night and really horribly too

Also one of my best friends txted me to tell me she was expecting #4 which just ended up in me being really upset all day. (to be fair she doesn't know we are ttc) I just felt like such a failure and so useless. Never thought TTC would make me so irrational and such a jealous person!

bunnygirl80 I agree with you, I was symptom spotting so much that I practically convinced myself I was pregnant. Really need to chill myself out and stop looking for it. It's just so hard though!

So glad I've got DH who just let me cry on his shoulder when I got home.

Ah well, try again eh? I've already downed 2 glasses of Baileys and now feel a bit better

whiteroses I don't say much, but I love your long posts

Hi Everyone, I'm new to MOMSNET, could I join this thread? Me and My DH are married a year and in the last few months have started trying for a baby.. few things didn't go well during the key days the first 2 months but hopefully going forward!

I'm really excited today as I've had a lot of problems with cysts and have been told I may have problems so I did an ovulation test yesterday that came up positive. I can't believe I actually ovulated! We had BD straight away but not sure if anyone has advice on how often in that phase we should do it? As it was the first time I've taken an ovulation test I'm not sure if i've just started or ended my ovulation time.. I'm always 28 days cycle..

So excited and so nervous!

mumnerves · 07/01/2010 20:17

Welcome newcastle16! Everyone here is so friendly, I've only just joined myself

whiteroses Thanks for the lovely supportive pep talk, I needed one! I know what you mean about the 'reasons'. I'm visiting my parents next month and have been planning for the last 3 months how I'd break the news to them! It's mad!! I've started temping this month though and at least will find out a bit more about my cycle. I was very good today and didn't burst out crying or had a tantrum when someone asked me if we wanted kids I also wanted to say what a fantastic person you are doing a job like that! Well done you! will be keeping my fingers crossed for your BFP later this month!

WorrisomeHeart · 07/01/2010 20:35

Hi all - just a really quick one as DH is angling for a go at the laptop (and as it's his, I guess I SHOULD share...)

Mumnerves So sorry to hear about AF, I was hoping you would be our first BFP of 2010. Sounds like your DH and the Baileys are helping! I know exactly what you mean about your friend though - I had dinner with a friend I've had since I was tiny about a month ago. She knows we're TTCing and guess what - no cocktails for her because lo and behold she's preggo... first time trying... she's so not been trying that she wasn't even taking folic acid (ooh listen to the judgemental one! I hear you all say ) She was initially quite sensitive to the fact that we've been trying for ages with naught to show for it, but then later on in the evening went on to say how boring her life would be for the next 9 months and how lucky I was to be able to drink/eat kidneys/sky dive etc. Which TBH I was a bit taken aback by and felt like saying 'let's swap hmmmm?'
Blergh, sorry that turned into a bit of a rant. It's hard to keep a supportive smile on your face when you're up against that type of thing is (I think) where I was going with that! Will move on now...

Kaloki - best of luck with the move and I really hope that the snow doesn't cause too much havoc!

bunnygirl lol at the thin walls...

Must go now, as DH is threatening to withhold BD privileges if I don't stop 'wittering away to those crazy-baby-ladies' (his words not mine!!)

Welcome to all the newbies! Stay warm everyone!

chalky3 · 07/01/2010 21:26

Hi everyone, thought I should make an appearance as I've been absent for a little while. Hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year and you're all bearing up well in this freezing weather, at least we are having a proper winter for a change rather than the usual cold rain.

Been reading everyone's posts to get up to date with what's happening with everyone. Sorry to those who have recently had the arrival of AF, drinking Bailey's does seem the best thing to do in the circumstances mumsnerves! Shame there's not been any BFPs in 2010 yet but it's early days.

AF could make an appearance for me anytime in the next couple of weeks judging by my last two cycle lengths. Managing to keep the symptom spotting under control and pretty much resigned to no BFP this month. I've started following a friends advice of not planning my life around possibly getting pregnant, it's no fun missing out on nights out and other stuff because of something which may or may not happen soon. Does make planning holidays later in the year a bit tricky though!

Good luck to everyone for 2010

pixiestix · 07/01/2010 21:53

Lol Worrisome! I am loving the idea of us all as the crazy baby ladies! Can't wait until we all really are - not just the crazy TTC ladies that we are at the moment

Mumnerves - good to know its not just me who wants to throw a great big tantrum sometimes! Thank god for this thread so we don't go totally mad and snap at people!

OP posts:
chancewouldbeafinething · 07/01/2010 22:55

Whiteroses hope you enjoyed the day back at work. Sounds like a good idea to get some OPKs just to put your mind at ease. Can't hurt right?

Bunnygirl - novel idea, maybe we should all spend the 2ww trying not to find symptoms Good luck with the visit from the in-laws...mine arrive this w/end also, at least i wont be tempted to try and take a test while they are here!

mumnerves Sorry to hear you had a bad day, always hard to be positive esp when no one knows you're ttc. Just remember it will be you one day!

Good luck to all travelling in the snow tomorrow

bunnygirl80 · 08/01/2010 06:31

pmsl at crazy baby ladies!! It's better than being a crazy cat lady I suppose.

chance my in-laws will be here for ages so if no AF I will be testing while they're here. would probably tell them straight away if it was a bfp anyway as it would be a shame to wait until they're 10000 miles away again and announce the news via skype.

whiteroses it seems like we've been waiting forever for our stuff. It had to wait at the docks for ages to get on a boat so it's been delayed. The weather here is sunny and hot, although it hasn't got up to 36degrees since a couple of weeks ago. It's too warm to do anything when it's that hot so we just end up stuck indoors!

I think I've finally got a job sorted, but it's going to involve being away from home for 3 days every 2 weeks - will be annoyed if this coincides with bd time each month but it's a great opportunity so will have to cross that bridge when we come to it.

Calyx · 08/01/2010 07:21

Morning all, sorry I've not been on, just updating stats to reflect my new cycle, hope I haven't messed anyone's up. Feel awful with AF, sinus face head cold and my poor MIL fell on the ice hitting her head on NY eve and was in hospital with a blood clot for 4 days, she's okay now just weak and dizzy etc. I'm 'on call' to go over there this weekend as she can't get out of the house (stairs down to the front door and too much ice out anyway) so hoping this cold goes away.

Hiya Newcastle, if you give us your statistics we can add you to the list
