A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.

Well ladies, I thought I'd better start us a new thread

May it bring us all good luck, see us through happier times, and at least two new bundles of joy

BeckyBendyLegs · 31/10/2009 13:59

I'm fine - two weeks to go today!

Happy Hallowe'en everyone

BeckyBendyLegs · 02/11/2009 10:52

DH has finally uploaded photos but there is only one of me with bump and that is me dressed as Mr Blobby. I've put it on my profile if you feel brave enough to have a look. I look AWFUL!!!

I've asked DH to take some photos of me before this baby arrives otherwise we will have no evidence, hardly, that I was ever pregnant!

I've started maternity leave today so have been overn cleaning and packed my bag ready just in case (although I don't think it'll happen just yet).

Hope everyone is ok

poppy27 · 02/11/2009 21:02

Wow becky you look fabby cannot believe you are due in 2 weks - time seems to have flown by since you first became pg! You must be sooo excited

nandos so glad things are going well for you and you are enjoying being a mummy so much. It really is such a special time when they are beginning to develop their own little personalities and giving you smiles - happy days

mbm hope you had a good time in Wales!

We had a brill time in disneyland and everything worked out in the end. Disney agreed to honour the booking and said they would claim the money from their insurance co. Our hotel was beautiful and the weather stayed dry and sunny (only one drizzly wet day). We only had 2 traumas. Firstly on the return flight we were all split up and when I asked a lady travelling on her own if she would mind swapping so I could be next to ds, she refused and said "absolutely not" there was "no way" she was giving up an aisle seat for a middle one! Luckily a young German man came aboard and was only to happy to swap so ds wouldn't be on his own! I was quite uspet by this point and totally shocked one woman wouldn't help another esp. when the flight was at night and ds was tired and upset at being away from me Some peeps eh!

Then when we arrived home we discovered that he had left his precious seal soft toy in France. Cue much crying and me phoning hotel in the morn to check lost property (nothing) then searching on ebay to find a similar seal (which I did) Seal is like a mega comfort blanket so it was v upsetting!

Also the night we left ds had sore ear so we ended up at hosp at midnight (we were leaving at 3am) seeing a dr and getting antibiotics Oh the joys!!!

Since we have been home my friend who was v ill with suspected stroke has been diagnosed with brain tumour. Just waiting on biopsy results now. Have been out of my mind with worry and doing lots of praying and positive thinking. She is such a lovely person and this has been such a shock for everyone.

xxxx

BeckyBendyLegs · 03/11/2009 12:11

Poppy sounds like you had a lovely time. Grrr at that awful woman! Some people are just so selfish and unfeeling. And your poor DS losling his seal and then being poorly.

Oh Poppy your poor friend. My thoughts are with you and her family. Big hugs to you.

Hello everyone else xxx

poppy27 · 06/11/2009 19:04

OMG we slipped off page!!

Can't chat tonight as have got to go and bake for ds's anchor boy coffee morning tomorrow

Hope you are all well. We are off to organised firework display tomorrow night. Should be good if a little cold!!

monkeybumsmum · 06/11/2009 21:47

Hello all

Happy Baking Poppy! What are you making? Hope you have a fab time at the fireworks, oooh that should be lovely! Have some tomato soup and hot dogs for me please, yum yum
By the way, so pleased to hear you had a great time in Disneyland - is it really good and what you were expecting? I can't wait til ds is old enought to appreciate it. That woman though on the flight, she sounded absolutely horrible. Some people are just unbelievable

Becky How are you doing? Hope you're not getting too fed up now, you've not got long to go... Is everything ready now? Have you got a room for the baby or will he/she go in with you for a while? Bet you can't believe that you will have your little one there before too much longer. Just in case things start happening soon, good luck for the labour, and I hope it all goes really well. Can't wait to hear the news

Nandos Hope all is well with you and your lovely boy? Are you still in Singapore? How's he sleeping now? Hope that all is going well and you've managed to spend some time with dh - is he back in the UK now?

Things fine here but not had much chance to come on MN Was in UK all last week, then my dad came back with us to look after ds as it's his half term this week and I've had to work. The days seem to be just flying by, but hopefully things'll start calming down next week and we'll get back to normal...
AF started today, which is fine. Was completely expecting it as have now lost hope that anything's going to happen before this laparoscopy, and goodness knows when that's going to be. I just have to stay calm, wait, and trust that things should hopefully happen afterwards. If not, then am going to seriously consider going down the IVF route if it's offered to us. Hopefully it won't come to that though.

Anyway, must go to bed now as am up early in the morning to take dad out and about, and to blow up lots of helium balloons for a friends childrens b'day party... DS is going to be so excited when he sees them! For the first time he decided himself what to buy his friends - for the little girl (almost 3) he was adamant he wanted to get her sweeties and a cow Couldn't find a cow but am hoping a rabbit puzzle will pass muster with him when she opens it tomorrow...

Night all, lots of love and I will be on more often in future, promise!

i feel like a single mother without dh around..well good side is i dont need to worry abt contraception
btw has the specialist told u to consider any other options apart from ivf?
re ds friend's bday hope you have a fun day tmr

take care all

BeckyBendyLegs · 09/11/2009 11:21

Hello! Still here, five days to go until due date. I've just been cleaning DH's and my car out (must be nesting). You wouldn't believe what I found in there - my car was home to two snails!!!!

mbm the baby doesn't have a room yet, he or she will be with us. In our old house DS2 was with us for 2 years (yikes!) because we didn't have a room for him - he then went in bunk bed with DS1 in DS1's room. At least in this house we have space just need to organise something! Organisation is not my strong point.

DS1's birthday is next week. Actually I'd better go and wrap his present just in case I run out of time. He had a birthday tea / party on Saturday, a week early, which he enjoyed very much.

Better go wrap! More later

BeckyBendyLegs · 10/11/2009 12:58

Boo! Maternity leave is soooo boring... no news yet. Just thought I'd check in and say hello to everyone

monkeybumsmum · 10/11/2009 16:04

Hello

If you're bored you'll have to come on here more often and you can tell us what you've been doing - I hope you've been relaxing while you have the chance

OP posts:
BeckyBendyLegs · 12/11/2009 08:23

Hello! Still here. Trying to relax...it is hard though as things like cars, cupboards, etc need cleaning.

I've got DS1's cold so I've had a horrible night of heartburn and coughing. Blaaaa.

How is everyone else?

poppy27 · 12/11/2009 12:13

Hi becky poor you feeling yuck at this late stage hope you get well soon it time for the birth

Hi nandos good to hear from you and glad all is going well. It is such a shame your dh has to travel so much, it must be difficult for you being on your own with a wee baby. Must be lovely when he returns.

I just had some terrible news last night. My friend who has been ill has been told the tumour on her brain is malignant and they can't operate. She has to begin radiotherapy in the next few weeks so can only pray that helps.

Am off to get hair cut now. Fringe really bad after I trimmed it myself (oops) before going to disney as I didn't have time for hairdressers. Am having a virgin vie make up party tomorrow but tbh not really in mood now. House needs tidied etc and I just don't have the will

Also just phoned gran to see if she needs anything to find out my cousin who had baby 3 months ago is making a rare appearance and my gran told her I would come out to see baby as well Feel really bad as just don't have any time for that cousin at all (not got anything in common and thats being nice!) and at the moment also feel baby envy (which is also not v nice)but can't really say that to gran!!! Told her I was busy etc. and if I can manage I may pop in but just honestly think that would be the topper on a really bad day! (feel really nasty now)

Anyway bitching over! Better be off to hairdressers

mbm hope you are doing ok.

poppy xx

anywayz i dont want to get too emotional..will stop here or now.

hope everyone is ok.

BeckyBendyLegs · 19/11/2009 13:14

Hello guys

Sorry to take so long to send you a message. I've been in baby fug / chaos since Saturday.

Toby Henry was born at 3.55pm on Saturday (seems ages ago now!) after a 5 1/2 hour labour (my longest yet)! He was born back-to-back so it hurt more than my previous two but I puffed like a mad thing on the gas and air and managed ok with a bit of screaming and 'I can't do this' etc. We were in hospital for two days and came out Monday and I've been feeding him with mixed results - oooh you should see my poor nipples right now. We've been topping him up with formula though to help as he is sooo hungry. He sleeps ok, not brilliant, so in a bit of a zombie state right now and poor DH is suffering! The DSs are too and the house is a total tip!!!

I hope you are all well I will see if I can find the photos DH took as I think they are here somewhere...

poppy27 · 19/11/2009 20:14

Oh becky lovely to hear from you and so glad all is going well - chaos only to be expected right now but then we usually have a degree of chaos anyway!!

Hope the feeding improves for you soon (I remember those sore nipples!!)it's quite stressful when it doesn't go smoothly.

Looking forward to seeing pics of your beautiful baby boy.

Look after yourselves

Love poppy xxxx

BeckyBendyLegs · 21/11/2009 09:09

nandos · 21/11/2009 15:08

hope u n baby r doing well.
congrats to your family..your two boys must be really excited to have another brother

sorry didnt get to post earlier cos' down with fever.. bad weather here.
also a bit of bad news..mom got a lump near her breast n had been checked n did x-ray. doc thinks its cancerous but not confirmed till they take it out n analyze it.
will update more when she gets appt with doc for surgery.

take care all..

BeckyBendyLegs · 21/11/2009 15:46

Feeding not going well ... but had same problems before - I've been in total floods about it for days but I just can't do the feeding anymore. It hurts like hell and he's not happy.

Nandos oh my huge hug to you. When will your mum get an operation to test the lump?

monkeybumsmum · 24/11/2009 20:15

Just a really quick one from me - I had my laparoscopy on Friday, so am feeling very sore still and not really able to do anything.

Becky he's just gorgeous! Please try not to get too upset re the feeding, I know just how difficult it can be You must do whatever you must do, and really, the most important thing is that he's getting fed. It doesn't matter how. Big hugs to you x

Nandos So sorry to hear about your mum, when's the operation to take it out? My goodness me I hope she's okay and the doctor has it wrong. Am sending you a big hug too. How's your little star doing?

Poppy Lots of love to you too - how are things going? Did you see your cousin? Don't blame you if you didn't....

Right, have to go as can't stand up for too long... Op went well but never realised how painful it was going to be.
Will be back soon!
