A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.

Well ladies, I thought I'd better start us a new thread

May it bring us all good luck, see us through happier times, and at least two new bundles of joy

mbm huuuuggge hug from me. I'm so very sorry it didn't happen this time. It will happen. I know it. I feel it in my waters. I just know it.

Nandos sounds like your period to me too. I'm due on 14 November. I look like I might topple over now as I have relatively thin legs and arms and this big bowling ball for a belly.

Hope everyone is ok

monkeybumsmum · 13/09/2009 11:47

Becky You're just so lovely, thank you. It does really help to have someone say that. Am starting to get seriously disheartened...

Dad just cooking yummy brunch so must dash, but hello to all, hope you're having lovely days!

Hi all

Sorry not been on last wk, v busy time. Was away last weekend with girlguides. Good fun and although weather not brill we were v lucky it didn't really rain. We were staying in huge converted stables which have been bought by girlguiding in Edinburgh and are v secluded in the middle of a huge country park. We went pond dipping with a park ranger who was v knowledgeable and made it really good fun and did lots of cooking, crafts and walking etc. Was knackered on Sun night so decided to have a lovely bath which ds decided to join me with . He was sitting behind me pouring water over my hair and asked "mummy, see the light bits in your hair, are they the ones you bought from the hairdresser!" just glad it wasn't the greys he was talking about!

MBM I take vit B Complex. Not sure about taking it with pg vitamins as well, I just take that and folic acid. Am considering adding some more vits to the mix as I really feel I need to "up my game"!!!
Hope you had a good time in the Uk. Please don't feel worried about things. It will happen for you. I just feel so strongly that it will. I keep telling myself that as well but I do understand how hard it is when it seems to be happening so easily for everyone else. I read in one of my "books" that things happen when the time is right.

becky wow you really don't have too much longer to go now at all. Can't wait to see pics of minibendy.

nandos good to hear from you but sorry you have been apart from your dh for so long. That must be really hard for both of you. Hope the nxt 2 wks go quickly for you. Take care of yourselves.

nandos · 13/09/2009 13:42

Hi everyone..

just a quick post from me cos' baby's unwell.. hes got running nose n cough..

MBM, sorry to hear abt AF ..like Becky said, im sure it will happen too.

Baby has started to cry ..got to go will try to continue later..

nandos · 15/09/2009 08:38

Helloo..

Just an update from me..
we went to see doc yesterday and was only given a nose drop cos' baby's too small to take any meds. hes still sneezing n coughing a lot though
anywayz good news is that dh is coming over tmr from london hopefully..
btw the 'discharge' that i was having few days back was really my period..am a bit shocked it came early. well i thought as long as milk is still produced i wasnt going to have period although stopped bf when hes a month old due to work..
am really starting to think i am a bad mom who cares more for herself than own child and thats why baby got sick...
got to go n clean up my room b4 dh arrives tmr..
hope all of u have a nice day..take care

monkeybumsmum · 16/09/2009 08:27

Oh Nandos You mustn't think that, babies get sick, regardless of circumstances. My ds had plenty of colds etc when he was small, as I think did most of my friends' babies. It's almost impossible to escape from germs like that, unless of course you locked yourself in a room somewhere and never went out It sounds like you are doing brilliantly, managing to juggle a little baby and work.
My ds was only ever given nose drops when he was small too - it's something they don't tend to do in the UK I don't think. I didn't find that they ever really helped ds but maybe it'll be different for your ds. Have you got a sucker thing to help get the snot out? DS HATED it, but before he was able to blow his nose it did help a little. Horrible to use though as they just scream

Right, have got a day off today and am off into Brussels shopping, yay!!!!! Have got a 20 euro voucher that needs to be used by Saturday so am off to buy a cat food tin, big spender that I am Might get tempted by some other things too though... Meeting friend for lunch, and ds is v excited as he loves her kids!

Hope you are all okay, what are you all up to?
Lots of love xxx

Poppy Thanks for what you said in your post. It is so difficult when it's happening for other people all around isn't it. Three of my very good friends are pg, and although I am so happy for them I am also just so envious I think you're right though, things do happen at the right time, and if I never manage to have another lo then maybe it's for the right reasons, whatever they may be.

Thanks for info re vits - I popped into Boots at the airport but they guy there said he couldn't give me any as it wasn't a dispensing chemist - will try to have a look in town today but not sure how to explain what I need in French

Hee hee re your ds in the bath, v cute!

Right, must go!

BeckyBendyLegs · 18/09/2009 08:16

Hello all! Nandos poor your litle DS - I remember DS1 had gastric flu when he was 11 weeks old and just shy of the age allowed for any Calpol or any medicine. It was so hard because he was feeling so rotten (I know because I caught it next). They do get better though, although it is hard to see them suffering when they are so little, isn't it?

I've got a stinky cold myself. Sniff, sniff.

mbm so funny buying a cat food tin with your voucher!

I've got to take the DSs to the dentist today and DS2 loves going but DS1 HATES it with a 'run away and hide' reaction. I couldn't even get him to open his mouth last time. Oh dear.

Did I tell you guys I'm going to an 80s icon theme party this weekend. Guess what I am going as? Mr Blobby. I have sewn some yellow spots on my pink Isabella Oliver maternity dress and will wear pink tights and bow tie. I am going to paint my arms with yellow spots and pink too. Sad, eh? Sexy? Not in the slightest.

monkeybumsmum · 18/09/2009 15:14

Just got in from work so only a quicky, but woohoo Becky you are going to look fab!!!!! What a brill idea!

Okay, this has to be the bump picture that you post on here - make sure you take a camera with you, and have a wonderful time if I don't get chance to post again!

Love to everyone else xxx

ps Good luck at the dentist too Becky and hope you feel better soon x

Hello! We're back. I was paddling in the sea this morning...

Had a great time. I danced my little feet off to Wham, Madonna, Dead or Alive, Madness, etc. I looked a right state though as Mr Blobby. There were about 3 Madonnas there, 1 Toyah Wilcox, 1 Mrs Thatcher, a Rambo, Don Johnson, Kylie and Jason and DH was a blues brother. It was fun.

We got back though to pick up the DSs from the 'in-laws and DS1 is poorly. He was feverish and shivery and was sick on the way home So now I am in mummy worry mode. I'm sure he's ok, he's been asleep for 3 hours now, but I know I will worry until he's better.

mbm I have photos but I look so huge and I need DH to put them on the computer.

poppy27 · 22/09/2009 14:38

becky sounds like you had a fab time - that is sooo my favourite era
Hope your ds is feeling better now. It is such a worry when they are sick and feverish. My overactive mind goes into worry overdrive. Sending (((hugs)))
Can't wait to see those pics

mbm and nandos hope you are both ok.

Have had a very busy wk and on Sunday afternoon I was at our district Centenary birthday party for Girlguiding. We were very lucky as it was a dry and sometimes sunny afternoon. Our local foorball stadium let us have their grounds and there were lots of girls there. We had all sorts of activities for them and then we had a catwalk with some of the girls modelling uniforms from the past! They were sooo cute, esp the wee brownies who are only 7. All in all, lots of work but good fun.

Yest took ds ten pin bowling with dh and my dad. Of course I had the lowest score much to ds's delight!

Our big news is that my lovely parents are sending us and my brother to eurodisney in Oct. Ds is very excited (like his mum) and is now counting the weeks! We are going to be staying in the Newport Bay hotel which seems to be very close to the parks and looks lovely

Anyway must go and wash ds's school uniforms for tomorrow.

nandos · 26/09/2009 17:26

hi everyone,

Poppy, glad u had a geat time with pin bowling..i havent had the chance to play that ever since i got pregnant till now
and how exciting..eurodisney ..i love it very much
MBM and Becky, hope u two are doing fine..
am going off to sleep now..have a bad cough and feeling a bit sickly atm...

take care..

BeckyBendyLegs · 26/09/2009 18:04

Nandos poor you. I hope you are ok.

Poppy Eurodisney lucky you guys!!!! I've been to Tokyo Disneyland and loved it but I'm sure it's smaller than Eurodisney.

No news here. Feel huge. Belly big. Indigestion. Waddling everywhere. Seven weeks to go.

monkeybumsmum · 26/09/2009 18:26

Seven weeks Becky Oh my goodness me how time flies! Have you got everything ready? Were your ds' on time?? Wonder when this little one will be ready to come out!

Poppy Yay, Eurodisney! That's not too far away from us! (Well, a few hours, but closer to us than you are now!) Hope you have a fab time, I can't wait till ds is a little older so we can take him - he'll love it!

Nandos Poor you, hope you start to feel better soon. It's tough being ill with a newborn. Make sure you look after yourself, and take a bit of time out when you can.

M2O Not sure if you're lurking or not, but if so then hello!!! Hope you're doing okay...

Had a lovely day today - ds and I have been picking walnuts off our tree and trying to dodge the little funny coloured spiders that seem intent on protecting their nuts! I hate spiders DS loved it though, but wasn't too keen on the walnuts once I cracked a few open. They're quite bitter, not sure if I'm s'posed to roast them or something to make them a bit more palatable? Anyone know?

Had my last procedure on Wednesday which was awful - very traumatic. My tummy has still not recovered and our chess has been disturbed as have been in too much discomfort. Think I should have ovulated on Thursday, but still not (according to Clearblue Monitor) so think Wednesday's knocked it all out of kilter. Get results next Wednesday so am starting to get bit nervous. Can't decide whether I want something fixable to be wrong, or whether it's better he says everything's normal - will just have to carry on in limbo land if that's the case. They seem quite proactive over here, and part of the tests they've done are normally done before starting IVF, therefore saving themselves time if we end up going down that route. Fingers crossed it won't come to that...

Have a great Sunday all!

ps anyone watching the X Factor??? Am a bit obsessed

OP posts:
BeckyBendyLegs · 01/10/2009 19:59

Boo! Thought I'd pop my head around the door to say hello.

Had my 34 week check today. All ok. Getting closer!

mbm poor you going through a traumatic procedure. I hope you are recovered now. Have you had the results? Or is it next week Wednesday? I'm sending you good luck vibes

I have been watching a bit of X factor here and there but DH HATES it with a passion!

monkeybumsmum · 01/10/2009 21:42

Hi all,

Off to bed but just wanted to say well done Becky on a good check up! You must be getting so excited now!
You're so sweet to remember my results too - yes, had them yesterday - to cut a long story short I have cysts on my right ovary, am borderline for Lupus anticoagulant (think that's thick blood???) and the specialist would be 'very surprised' if I don't have endometriosis. Have to have a laparoscopy to hopefully get any endo out (if it's there, am still sceptical) and he'll burst cysts at same time. Waiting list is 6 months so am feeling rather disheartened and can't really see the point of ttc if a) it's not going to work anyway and b) I could possibly have dodgy eggs which could mean another mc...
Trying not to think too much about it. Am convinced this month is out too - he gave me an internal and pushed on my ovaries - it hurt sooo much I almost shot off the table! Had bit of brown blood after, at 2DPO don't think it's a good sign

Anyway, sorry for such a me post - hope you are all okay???

Just off to bed, but wanted to wish you Happy Birthday for tomorrow Poppy (I hope I've got it right )
Hope you have a lovely day - are you and dh going to do anything in the evening?
Lots of love x

PS Hello to all!

BeckyBendyLegs · 06/10/2009 18:30

Boo! Was it your birthday Poppy? Happy belated birthday! I hope you had a lovely day

I haven't been up to much, except waddling around.

mbm that internal sounds painful - poor you. I hope that they can sort your endo if you have it out and cysts. I haven't heard of Lupus anticoagulant. I really, really want it to work out for you though so even if you have to wait a bit longer, keep optimistic, keep smiling, keep hopeful I really want it to work out for you, m2o and Poppy and we'll keep supporting each other no matter what xxxx

poppy27 · 08/10/2009 14:20

Hi all!!!

Yes you were right MBM it was my birthday on Monday - what a good memory you have
Had a nice day. Got lovely flowers, money, chocs, jewellery and smelly things almost worth turning 37 for

Really sorry to hear about your apt. MBM that sounds rough. The Lupus thing is what I tested positive for at the rc mc clinic and "if" I manage to get pg again will need to inject heparin and take asprin during pg But on the positive side (if there is one)I feel at least any further pg can be helped a little.
Hopefully you will be treated before the 6 months and they can remove any cysts and endo and allow you ttc with peace of mind. It will work out for you - I just know it will.

We have been having a huge nightmare which began last wed morning. We heard on the Tues night that the travel agency which we booked eurodisney with had gone into liquidation and all that was on the shop window were numbers to call for help. So I have spent the last week and a half phoning Abta and disneylad paris to try and find out where we stand. No definate answers yet BUT have managed to print out e tickets for flights and yest got sent tickets for airport to resort transfers along with a letter about hol. Am still waiting on Eurodisney getting back to me to confirm things. Poor ds knows nothing about this as don't want to disappoint him if we don't have to but I have been having migraines and my arthriris has been awful with the stress of it all.

On a good note, off to see an amateur pantomime tonight with my girlguides. Taking ds and his pal as well. It was brill last year so hoping this will be really good too.

Love Poppy xx

BeckyBendyLegs · 09/10/2009 19:20

Oh Poppy that is awful for you. I hope that it is all going to be ok. Sorry to hear it has been making your poorly with all the stress.

I hope you have a good time at the pantomime

Not much news here - 5 weeks to go. DS2 says he isn't feeling very well but the miracles of calpol and he seems fine at the moment. DS1 really enjoying school and explaining to me what a 'triangular based prism' is today.

It is truly autumn now, we have the heating on.

Poppy we are the same age now. Although I will be 38 in December. I still feel about 22 though!

monkeybumsmum · 10/10/2009 11:41

Hi girls, v quick one from me as doubled up with period pains so off to bed in a min when I put chickenpox riddled ds down for nap.

Oh Poppy what a nightmare, poor you. I really hope you get things sorted out veery soon, and manage to lower your stress levels. When are you supposed to be going? It's always the kind of thing you dread happening when you book things isn't it. How very unlucky to actually have it happen Sounds like you are on top of the situation though... Was the pantomime good?

Becky What's your actual due date? You're going to have to get dh trained up on mumsnet so he can come and let us know when lo's been born! We shall be desperate to hear that you are both ok!

Nandos and m2o hello to you both - how are you doing?

Must go as need to lie down. Happy weekend all x

OP posts:
BeckyBendyLegs · 12/10/2009 18:49

My due date is 14th November. If you send me your email / mobile via facebook I'll add it to the list I'll give him to text / email to everyone when the time comes.

monkeybumsmum · 12/10/2009 19:48

Hey Becky bring 'em over here and they're bound to catch it Shall send you number asap...

Must go and feed dogs - dh has cooked and is almost ready, yay!

Hi ladies

Hope you are all well. We have finally got our hol sorted and are off to Disneyland Paris on Thur morn (crack of dawn!)
It's taken many emails/faxes/phone calls etc to get to this point and will only fully believe it when I am sitting on plane.
Ds is high with excitement now which is lovely. Dh and Db are not good travellers so they are quite anxious at the mo

Took ds to cinema today to see disney UP. It was fantastic. Think I may have liked it more than ds. We had our 3D glasses on and our sweets really got me in a disney mood!

Only trauma we have had was that last week my good friend was taken to hosp with a suspected massive stroke. She was home alone and had called dh/dd's but no reply and was going to lie down as she felt so bad but ended up calling 999 which saved her life as she needed resusitaion in a&e and dr's say if she had gone for a lie down on her own that would prob have been the end. Family were told to prepare for worst BUT thankfully next morn she began to recover and now a week later is lots better. She has had tests galore, CAT scans etc and nothing showed up until today they found clots on her lungs and are now testing to see if that is what caused the collapse. It has been a nightmare but I am so relieved she is improving as she is such a lovely, lovely person.

On that cheery note.....

Speak soon and take care
xxxx

nandos · 21/10/2009 07:27
