A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.

Well ladies, I thought I'd better start us a new thread

May it bring us all good luck, see us through happier times, and at least two new bundles of joy

Oh Nandos he is absolutely beautiful!!!! You must be so proud of him!
Lovely idea about the massage, I'd love one that long
How's everything going?

Sorry not been on - have been back in UK for a few days, and then was quite busy yesterday...

Becky How are you doing? You must have quite a bump now? Bump pics please How are the ds's and are they getting very excited about their new baby brother or sister? I hope so! Have you started to get things ready yet?

Poppy How are you? Did ds enjoy his birthday? Hope so! Are you still going to reiki - what exactly do they do?

No news here - am on CD40 now and no sign of AF. Yet. Am sure it''ll arrive at some point! It's a bit of a pain - I have an appointment on Thursday for my first 'procedure' at the hospital and becasue it involves x-rays I can't have it if there's any chance I might be pregnant, so am having to cancel it. It was perfectly timed to be in the first two weeks of my cycle, but my elusive AF has gone and buggered it up. Nevermind.

Off to get beans on toast for lunch now, yum!

nandos your baby is sooo gorgeous you must be evry proud of him. Hope everything is still going well and you are getting some rest

mbm CD40 thats really late! Have you done a test just to be on the safe side before you go to hosp. Maybe it will be good news

My ds had a brill birthday last wk, cannot believe he is 7! Also cannot now believe we have spent the last 5 years ttc a sibling! Very depressing.
We got him a new bike and a camera as he is obsessed with taking pics so he was delighted. He also got lots of lego city sets from various people as he loves lego and is excellent at following the instructions and building the sets. He done the policestation all by himself (proud mummy alert)!
We had his party on sat and there were 10 kids and as it was dry we had some outside games and some indoors and they all had a good time. Some of the kids in the street have made a "band" over the summer hols and they "played" at the end very entertaining!

My reiki is quiet healing where I lie on a bed and close my eyes, relax and the lady channels reiki healing into me. She also does angel healing which I have had and as she is a medium I have occasionally had messages from "the other side" at the end. For me personally I have found it very beneficial and over the past 4 months my cycle has gone from crazy to regular. Pmt symptoms have gone, spotting for over a wk before af has stopped and my cycle is longer. Last month it was 30 days and I only knew af had arrived when I felt a sharp pain in my stomach and back, went to the loo and it had came. Reiki lady also told me last time that she had been told that my fertility had returned. So for me that was good to hear. Hopefully now things may improve for us as ds keeps asking where his baby brother or sister is and today said "was it taking a long time to make in the baby factory"!!!!!

becky you really don't have long to go now at all. You must be starting to get excited now. (and tired!)

Our schools go back next tues so we have been busy buying school uniform etc. Oh the joys! Anyway must stop rambling as bathroom really need a good clean!

BeckyBendyLegs · 14/08/2009 08:33

Hello all!

I had some really good news this week. A friend of mine I went to Uni with has one daughter who is 5 and she's been TTCing for ages and had two MCs - she is 38 and was worrying about her age but she's now 13 weeks pregnant! So good things do happen!!!!!! I am so pleased for her. Her husband had told her he wanted to give up if nothing happened by October and I was really, really hoping that something would happen and it did! So you guys it will happen to you too, I just know it.

mbm CD40 is a long one - maybe???

Poppy good news that your Reiki lady says your fertility is back - and sounds like your cycle is proof of that. So sweet of your DS to ask about the baby factory

I am getting excited, scared, etc but practically we are not at all prepared. We have no names yet, no things, only the old stuff from the DSs. We need to go shopping

I do feel quite big. I will get DH to take a photo of me with my belly so I can put on here.

Nandos I hope you are glowing in new baby bliss

nandos · 17/08/2009 16:20

Hello everyone..
me been cleaning doing housework n bz with baby thats why havent come on for quite some time..

MBM, hope its good news since your late. Have u tested yet?

Becky, soon its going to be you having a baby cant wait to see your pics!

Poppy, thats nice to hear your fertility has come back
Relaxing does help sometimes..even the lady who massages me ask me to relax b4 she starts massaging me.

My tummy has become much flatter now and i asked mom if the stretch marks will go away and she said no! i feel so unsexy with all those tiger lines lol.
But one thing i realise is the reason why women wanna have more kids although sometimes birth can be so painful n traumatic is because of their baby's cutee face and it offsets everything else

anywayz i need to continue with the housework, still a lot to do..take care all

monkeybumsmum · 17/08/2009 20:32

Hello all

Nandos I am sooo impressed that you're managing to do housework so soon after having a baby! Don't worry about the stretchmarks - very soon you won't notice them, and after all they're there for the best reason in the world Do you have any more pics to put on?

Poppy So glad ds had a great birthday, it sounds like he was spoilt rotten which he surely deserves to be How cute re their band - are they any good? Maybe he's a musician in the making!
Your reiki really does sound amazing. You are very lucky to have found a good lady. You mentioned that you've had messages from the other side - do you find it upsetting? The guy that I had counselling from last autumn offered to help me 'communicate' with my lost little ones, and instantly I felt so uncomfortable and overwhelmed that I couldn't even speak for crying. I didn't take him up on his offer... Am sure it must be a different kind of experience for you though, your lady sounds great, whereas I think my guy, in that instance anyway, was just too too much.
5 years is a long time Poppy Let's hope you get some good news very soon.

Becky Bump pics please Am desperate to see your bump, it's so exciting! That's lovely re your friend, she must be very happy, but I suppose also still worrying at that stage. I hope that the rest of the pregnancy goes smoothly for her. Are you starting to feel tired now? It's so exciting thinking about going shopping for baby stuff! Can I come with you please

m2o Hope you're having a lovely holiday, looking forward to hearing from you when you get back!

AF finally arrived a few days ago - I had a 41 day cycle . They are getting longer each month! Have been for a mammoth blood test today (14 vials ) and have to go back again tomorrow for another blood test, then again on Friday for a scan, and then for the rescheduled appt that I had to miss next week. I may as well take up residency
On the plus side, we had a fab weekend on the Dutch coast, just dh, ds and I, and then we are off to the Belgian equivalent of Alton Towers next Monday, so I get to go on all the rides (Bet I chicken out though )
I invested (or rather persuaded my mum to invest) in a Clearblue Fertility Monitor while I was back in the UK, so maybe we'll have a bit more luck this month? Here's hoping anyway...
Off to find my book, make a cup of tea and get all snuggly in bed now Night all x

OP posts:
poppy27 · 18/08/2009 16:35

OMG mbm 14 vials of blood! that beats my 9 at the recurrent mc clinic! Hopefully after all these tests they can offer you some help or advice as a 41 day cycle is mammoth!

My reiki lady is v nice and the messages are not upsetting as I find it a great comfort to know that my family are looking over us. She works with the angels a lot and when she is finished my reiki she usually tells me all the places they directed her to send healing and light and unbelievably it is usuall the areas I am having most trouble with spooky! My dh done some building work for her and every time he was finished a batch of cement she would have tea and sandwiches sitting ready for him as "they" told her each time he finished. My friend went to her for a reading and she said she could see puppies and toilet rolls (friend breeds laboradors).

nandos I also ama amazed that you have time for housework! Don't expend all your energy on that Hope all is well and don't worry about the stretchmarks - wear them with pride!

becky can't wait to see bump pics hope you are well.

m2o hope you are enjoying school hols!

My ds went back to school today. Primary 3. He was not happy about going back although he seemed quite happy when I collected him. First day is always the worst
Unfortunately the new teacher made a mistake with the register and I got a text from the school saying call them as ds hadn't came to school today I watched him go in but was still worried. V apologetic when I phoned and went to class etc to check he was there (which he was) but it must have been v exciting for ds as it was the first thing he told me at hometime!

xx

poppy27 · 18/08/2009 17:24

Ps have finally uploaded some pics! Has only taken me a year!!!

monkeybumsmum · 18/08/2009 20:49

Poppy Yay!!! It's great to be able to see you finally, and you look as lovely as I thought you would Your ds is gorgeous, and looks v sweet, and your dh looks really nice too What a lovely family you have!
Your lady sounds fantastic, she really does. How does she know all these things? Am so impressed I feel like coming all the way to Scotland to see her! Was your friend freaked out?
That must've been scary re ds today at school, bet they felt silly having made that sort of mistake. Glad his first day back is over. When did he finish for the summer? It seems quite early to be going back? Maybe it's just us who go back late - ds starts at school in two weeks, the same day as I go back to work!

Had my appt with the genetic counsellor lady today, but am not really sure why I went Thought I was going for another blood test, but she said they included everything she wanted in the test yesterday which helps explain why they took so much! She was a nice lady though, and not in any rush, so took the time to explain lots about genetics to me, which was very interesting. It would've been a nice afternoon, were it not for the fact that ds wet himself on the way to the appointment (was a 10 minute walk from the car) and after changing him he then had a 'number 2' accident while in with this lady He's doing very well on the whole though, not even two and a half yet (4 days to go ) and already in pants! They look so cute when they're out of nappies don't they!

Right have to go, was at a friends for supper this evening with ds, and have hardly seen poor dh, who had to get his own supper

Night night x

OP posts:
BeckyBendyLegs · 19/08/2009 21:46

Poppy yeah! lovely to see your pictures and your DS (and your moggy and DH) look lovely

mbm please do come shopping with me - I'd love it! We haven't got anything yet except a moses basket from someone at DS1's school! Sorry your AF arrived - 41 days is a long cycle. 14 vials of blood! I hope they can help you your poor DS doing no.1s and 2s. My DS2 wee'd in his wellies yesterday (he had an accident and it ran down his leg straight into his wellie) and thinks that was brilliant! He kept going on about it today.

Nandos the stretch marks will fade - I have a few too.

My bump is too big. I tried on my favourite 'it's not maternity but it fits when I am pregnant' skirt on today and couldn't get the zip up.

BeckyBendyLegs · 26/08/2009 18:18

Boo everyone!

darls · 26/08/2009 20:54

Boo to you too

Was thinking about you all today, wondering how you're all doing? Becky has dh taken any pics yet

All fine here, but PIL's staying at the mo so not going to be able to spend much time on the computer for the next ten days. Had one of my procedures today - got pumped full of dye and had x-rays taken of my bladder. Had another one last week, where they found my right ovary is twice the size of my left one - they said they 'think' it's a functional cyst, and so I have to go back just after my AF next month to check if it's back to normal or not. I was v worried as the lady went out to get her supervisor, leaving me spread-legged on the bed

Better go, have a yummy pudding to eat!

Love to all, and hope to hear what you've been up to & how you are very soon! xxx

Oh mbm that test sounds awful. Hope you are feeling ok now!

My only bit of news is that I had a psychic dream last week which came true
You must all prob think I am bonkers by now

My dad has a cousin who lives quite a bit away who they keep in contact with and see occasionally. I had a dream about her and her dh last week and in the dream I ask after her daughter as she is pregnant. On mon my dad went to put flowers on my grans grave and something made him buy flowers and take them to cousins mil who stays near where gran is buried. Imagine his surprise when the lady tells him that her grandaughter (one I had dreamt of and havent seen for years and years) is 12 wks preg after years of infertility and 3 rounds of IVF! The hairs were standing up on my arms when my dm phoned to tell me Obv could be a coincidence but they are very random peeps for me to think of never mind dream of so like to think it was a (good) message!

monkeybumsmum · 29/08/2009 11:16

That's amazing Poppy - let's hope it happens again then it will be less of a coincidence We don't think you're bonkers at all, gifted maybe...

Am having a bit of a bad day today - is a year today since we went for our doomed 12 week scan I was okay when I woke up this morning, but now just feel on the verge of tears thinking about how much we wanted that baby and how it wasn't to be. Lots of my friends are pg, and I'm fed up of it not happening for us. You two must feel the same Poppy and m2o. Need to give myself a good shake I think, and try not to dwell on it. Just feel so sad though

Hope you're all okay xxx

OP posts:
poppy27 · 29/08/2009 23:18

Sending you (((((hugs))))) mbm life really sucks sometimes

I'm having a bit of an odd day today. Think I said before about my very young and unworked cousin who got pg this yr, well heard today that she had emergency section this morn due to high blood pressure. Baby boy born weighing 3lb. He was 4 wks early. Think they are doing ok but obv is a shock. I haven't seen her for over a yr as she doesn't really have much to do with family things and spends all her time with boyfriends fam. All v strange. But anyway glad they are both doing ok.

We spend afternoon at botanic gardens which ds loved esp. all th glass houses with tropical plants and carnivorous plants Off to bed now as ds has taekwondo comp at 9am tomorrow morn!!! Have had wine tonight which was v nice but prob a bad idea with the early start - oops!!

monkeybumsmum · 30/08/2009 10:50

Ooh gosh Poppy hope the little one is okay. A couple of my friends have had babies 4 weeks early, one was fine straight away, but one spent time in an incubator, but is fine now. It must be a scary time.
My DB's girlfriends brother's wife (!!!) had twin boys born on Thursday at 7 months Apparently she wasn't well, think she had a kidney infection, so they'd fought for a little while to stave off labour - had given her steroids etc for their lungs. Must've been horrible. Anyway, the boys are very small, same as your cousins actually, and are obviously in SCBU. One of their lungs had collapsed yesterday, but I haven't heard an update Was jealous as hell when I found out they were expecting, let alone having twins, but now am just willing them all on to be okay...

Am feeling sooo much brighter today, and thank you for the lovely hug Poppy I started using the Clearblue Fertility Monitor this month, and have had my first 'peak' today which means I should be ovulating today/tomorrow. Played chess last night and two nights before that, and dh is hopefully reserving some energy for tonight so am feeling really hopeful for once.
My cycles have been so all over the place I think I've been missing it, but at least we have a bit more of a chance this month!!! Is going to be a very long 2WW!

How did your ds do in the competition Poppy? Hope he did well and you weren't too bleary eyed this morning

Off to see how dh and ds are doing - dh is building decking in the garden!!

Have a lovely Sunday all!

OP posts:
poppy27 · 30/08/2009 13:27

Hi mbm feeling v bleary eyed this morn. Should deffo not have had the wine last night had a pounding head this morn and felt sick. The car journey was a nightmare!! But ds did ok and got a medal. His trouble is that I don't think he listens properly to what the instructors are telling them to do and then when it begins he turns round to see what the person nxt to him is doing which isn't much good for sparring Anyway have since had 2 rolls and a coffee and feel a million times better

I will be v interested to see how you get on with your monitor this month. I have been looking at them as well as I deffo think we need some extra help. Last month dh was very grumpy and tired and said he was sick of chess on demand. Think he is just generally fed up at the mo and ftc is just another pressure for him. We had a bit of a fall out as although I know where he is coming from I don't feel we have time to waste arguing as I will be 37 soon and I feel my window of chance is very very narrow now .

Anyway off to cheer up and do some ironing

monkeybumsmum · 30/08/2009 13:44

Me and dh felt like that too Poppy, just fed up of doing it, doing it some more, and not getting anywhere. I feel like we've been wasting time, and I don't want to spend any more time than necessary in this position.
The CBFM's are sooo expensive though - I actually persuaded my fab mum to buy mine as I just couldn't have got one otherwise. You never know, if this turns out to be our lucky month (fingers crossed) then I could lend you my monitor

Well done ds getting a medal Have you talked to him about listening harder? It must be difficult though, with adrenalin pumping round as he prepares to start... Bless him!
Poor you feeling sick too, but hope you enjoyed it last night!

It's our wedding anniversary on Thursday - we're going out to the cinema on Friday to celebrate. What style we have Is weird as last year we didn't celebrate at all as I was having the ERPC the next day. Can't believe it's been a year.

Have a nice relaxing arvo won't you. Am glad you're feeling better! I'd better go as I'm getting evils from my hardworking dh every time he passes through the kitchen on his way to cut wood

OP posts:
BeckyBendyLegs · 30/08/2009 19:00

Poppy wow at your dream. I don't think you are bonkers at all. I totally believe in the power of dreams and 'feelings' about things. Like when my mum didn't turn up for her surprise birthday outing with me and wasn't answering her phone. I should have been really worried that she was ok but I 'knew' she was fine, which she was (just dippy for forgetting about the day and having no credit on her phone!).

mbm your procedure sounds tough. Poor you. Good luck with the chess I hardly ever play chess at the moment. I'm just not in the mood and my bits are very sensative. It hurts afterwards. I think this is normal as I remember having this with DS2.

Poppy my DH got really fed up with chess on demand.

mbm big hug from me too for your anniversary of the 12 week scan. Those days are hard to go through. I remember so well when you had your scan.

Better go - bathtime for little boys!

monkeybumsmum · 05/09/2009 16:50

Hello!

Just a quick headpoke round the door as have a half hour with ds out with grandparents so must get stuff done...

How are you all?

Becky How's minibendylegs? Hope he or she is kicking away nice and strong

Poppy Meant to say in my last post, you should still have plenty of time, 37 isn't that old! A friend of mine had a baby a few months ago (after a mc) and she's 43...

Nandos How are you enjoying being a mummy? I hope you're not too tired...

m2o Are you back yet? How was your holiday?

Must go, but love to all!

OP posts:
BeckyBendyLegs · 06/09/2009 20:24

Poppy I will be just shy of 38 when 'minibendylegs' is born and today I went to a Christening when a friend, who is 40, whispered 'I'm seven weeks pregnant!' to me.

Minibendylegs is kicking like bonkers! Sometimes it really hurts. At the Christening today I couldn't stop myself going 'owwww!' during a particularly quiet bit when everyone was praying seriously. Ooops.

Hope everyone is well

I've just applied for my Health In Pregnancy grant - there is this strange thing where everyone who is pregnant in the UK now gets a present of £190 from the government. I have no idea why. I think I'm supposed to buy fruit and vegatables with it or something. I treat myself to a new winter coat after the baby is born! That'll keep me healthy post pregnancy - ie not cold!

monkeybumsmum · 06/09/2009 20:49

Wow that's great Becky £190! Shame they don't do anything like that here, not that I'm pg of course, but still...
Glad MiniBL is kicking away, and LOL re saying ow during a quiet bit
That's great about your friend Has she got kids already?

Hope you've all had a good weekend - mine has been v quiet. The PIL's went this morning, so is strangely quiet without them .
I'm not feeling great - can't figure out whether it could possibly be something (fingers crossed) or more likely, whether I'm just knackered from last week and starting back at school.
Am up again at half five tomorrow (half four with you, ow!) and will be doing that every day this week. I am soooo not an early bird Am wondering where on earth I'm going to find the energy!
AF is due on Sunday or Monday - the Clearblue Monitor has been fab and am so relieved that we have given ourselves the best chance this month as we got the timing right for once Am feeling a tiny bit sicky, with a heavy tummy and a bit of an achy lower back, oh, and boobs are agony. However, these are symptoms I've had over the last few months too, and haven't been pg any of those times. Is quite good really, as I can tell myself they mean nothing!

Have a good start to the week all - lots of love xxx

OP posts:
BeckyBendyLegs · 07/09/2009 13:04

mbm my fingers and toes are all crossed for you

My friend does have 4 children already - 3 from a previous marriage and one who is just 1 year old so she is probably quite fertile! I do think she is slightly bonkers going for number 5.

5.30am is early mbm. DH gets up then to go to work but I get up at about 7.15am on a school day and anytime from 7.30-9.00 on a non-school day depending on when the DSs descend on me!

nandos · 11/09/2009 23:06

Helloo..
Hope everyone is ok
Have been very bz lately with baby n work so couldnt come n post msgs on MN
btw baby doing fine and now started making funny noises as if wanting to talk

Becky when r u due? cant wait foryour big news..
MBM hope its this month that works fingers crossed.
Poppy hope you doing fine..dont give up yet k!

Btw need some opinion from you ladies..i just stopped my TMI alert** discharges from the time of birth which last for abt 1mth, which is nealy 3 weeks ago. Now started having brown, reddish discharge again is this my period or am i imagining it?
Been feeling bloated for a couple of days now..
anywayz dh been away for more than a mth now and only coming back in 2 weeks time missed him dearly. how i wish he could stay here longer..

monkeybumsmum · 12/09/2009 12:16

Hi all

Nandos Lovely to hear from you, and so glad the baby's doing well! Have you got any more photo's you could post?
WRT the discharge you're having, it does sound like your period. I'm not sure if you're breastfeeding or not, but if you're not then yes, it probably is AF. If you are exclusively breastfeeding then I think that delays the return of your periods - I remember I didn't get mine til ds was about 8 or 9 months. Hope that helps!
Poor you with dh being away so much, and poor dh too. It must be awful having to be away for so long at such a precious time Hope the next two weeks flies by for you

How are you Becky, Poppy and m2o? Hope you're all okay and having nice weekends!

Can't be on too long as I'm supposed to be packing - ds and I are going to UK for the night tonight, and are leaving for the airport in a few hours. Back tomorrow afternoon, so is definately classified as the proverbial flying visit!

Am feeling pretty gutted today, as AF started on Thursday night Have been using the Fertility Monitor, and therefore know exactly when I ovulated. Wish in a way I didn't know, coz have now realised I only have a 10 or 11 day luteal phase, so maybe that's why it's not working Am feeling very panicked, and have been in tears this morning, convinced that we're never going to get there.

Have read that Vit B6 can lengthen luteal phase - Poppy I think you take Vit B supplements don't you? Can you still take them with a pregnancy vitamin like Pregnacare? I looked at getting some a while ago, but it said on the packet not to take without consulting your doctor if you're trying to get pg, but am now desperate. Can pick some up at the airport on the way back tomorrow (there's a Boots thank god ) so will try and check MN tonight or tomorrow to see if you've seen this message!

Love to all xxx
