grinningbee · 13/07/2009 10:49

Congrats to the BFP's since I last peeked in here!

I suppose I should be pleased that AF reared her head, as it's the first distinguishable one since dd was born. Mind you, with bf'ing I wasn't expecting it so soon...

So anyway, for the record I can now say:

Grinningbee TTC#2 Cycle 2 UCL32 CD3

I did have to ask DH the other day if he thought we could cope with 2, but I'm sure we'll find a way if we're lucky!

Trying4Baby1 · 13/07/2009 22:14

Hi there, just signed up so this is my first posting. We haven't been trying for long but we've put off children for years as it's 'never been the right time' and just thought to hell with it we want a baby now. I just hope it doesn't take too long as I'm really impatient and I'll end up driving my DH up the wall.

cangaroo · 14/07/2009 02:53

Oh my god!

I am about three days late for period, had done a test about three days ago, negative, and have horrible stomach cramps so have been assuming that we weren't lucky for this month. But I have also had some strange symptoms like being so tired that thought someone had drugged my coffee, sudden aversion to chocolate..

Anyway, due to lateness of period, thought that I would do a test this evening, and came back positive!

I am such a bundle of emotions that haven't been able to sleep. Have mainly been really worried about horrid stomach cramps. But have looked them up and have been informed that they are implantation pains, and one of the most common early signs of pregancy.

Am completely unable to sleep now. Moral of this story is probably 'don't do pregnancy test last thing at night'!

Ladylou83 · 14/07/2009 07:16

Congratulations Cangaroo. That is fantastic news!!!!

TeaFan · 14/07/2009 08:55

Congratulations cangaroo! Am lol at your not being able to sleep, maybe that is why they say you should use FMU!?!?

Welcome Trying4Baby1 I have added you to the passenger list, good luck for this cycle

Lots of changes so apologies for any mistakes!

TeaFan · 14/07/2009 09:01

Could I ask for some advice from ladies using OPKs or CBFM please? My cycle has been varying from 29 - 34 days, can I ask how many days before AF arrives you tend to OV? Most websites say AF arrives 10-16 days after OV, is this true in your experience?

skihorse · 14/07/2009 09:10

Congrats cangaroo!

teafan I OV exactly 14 days before AF and I know this via CM, not fancy charts!

TeaFan · 14/07/2009 09:31

Thanks Ski

I had EWCM on day 15/16 of my last cycle but AF didn't arrive until day 35 which made me doubt myself but I suppose if I didn't OV until day 17 then an 18 day LP isn't unheard of. Does EWCM happen before, during or after OV? Clearly I know nothing

Have read loads of websites but they should bow down to the wisdom of MNers! Would rather hear it from the ladies that know through personal experience

thehuntress · 14/07/2009 09:48

Hi ladies

Can I jump on the bus?

thehuntress TTC#2 Cycle 1 UCL 28 CD 15

I think we timed it right over the weekend as I showed all signs of OV. I've felt slightly nauseous the last couple of days and have had funny tummy (IYKWIM), but it's too early to tell these things, right?

I'm 37 and last time it was so easy (took us two months) but I'm five years older now so very scared we will have trouble this time.

Is anyone else frightened about getting pregnant now because of swine flu? I'm trying not to be paranoid, but pregnancy now would mean being in the early months of pregnancy during a swine flu epidemic this winter.

idealcamel · 14/07/2009 09:50

Huge congrats, canga! TeaFan Not really sure myself about the timing of EWCM. It just happens somewhere around ovulation and when it goes away, then you've ovulated.

I'm currently weeing on a stick for 8 days a month having bought a Persona, but it's entirely possible for that, OPKs and CBFM to miss your lh surge. If I don't get pregnant this month, contemplating junking the attempt to know when I'm ovulating and just bonking every other day from CD7 until my next period arrives. At least that would take my mind off things...

idealcamel · 14/07/2009 09:53

Hey, huntress. Come join the other crazy 2WW symptom-spotters!

I know what you mean about swine flu, but frankly I'd be so happy to be pregnant at this stage that I'll worry about epidemics later on. Although it's slightly worrying, I'm not prepared to panic yet.

sweetkitty · 14/07/2009 11:55

congratulations cangaroo

My MIL died yesterday very sudden still in state of shock really she was only 61, poor DP and it's his birthday today and DD3's first one tomorrow.

As for TTC kind of on the back foot, would be nice to have something positive soon though, will test week on Friday x

cangaroo · 14/07/2009 13:25

Thanks everyone

Best of luck to you all, hope that you all have good news soon and meanwhile enjoy your lovely BDing

sweetkitty, so sorry to hear your terrible news. Fingers crossed that good news comes your way x

FanjolinaJolie · 14/07/2009 13:36

Tea fan - yes, it's true you will ovulate approx 12-16 days before AF arives. This is called the Luteal Phase. Most GP's will tell you it's 14 days but it varies from woman to woman but is generally within 12-16 days, although you can have a luteal phase of less than 12 days (mine is 11 or 12 days). Although your cycle may vary on length from month to month the luteal phase will almost always be the same + or - one day.

Keep an eye out for signs of fertile cervical mucus (looks like stretchy raw egg white) as this is an indicator that ovulation is approaching.

TTC #3!

FanjolinaJolie · 14/07/2009 13:43

Tea Fan - EWCM can be present for up to a week. I know from years of temping/charting that I ovulate six days after I see the first signs of EWCM. So I have about six days of it, and it gets more and more watery towards ovulation - this watery/stretchy CM is the most fertile. You'll probably have two days where you feel wet/slippery at your 'entrance' sorry if TMI then you'll ovulate and the EWCM dries up and disappears within the next 12 hours.

Bettymum · 14/07/2009 16:48

Congrats cangaroo!!
Sorry about your news sweetkitty

Beanmum · 14/07/2009 20:23

Yay canga!! This bus is picking up momentum now

So sorry about your MIL, sweetkitty, that's terrible.

Welcome to all the newbies.

I'm trying hard to stay away from the pee sticks, ignoring the bonza boobs and queasiness - luckily work's completely manic and we're moving house, which helps. Ho hum

liahgen · 14/07/2009 22:13

ok, am off the March bus, mostly lurked this month, am getting very down about this whole thing and didn't want to put bad negative vibes into the mix, (she says doing just that, )

Liahgen TTC#6, Cycle 6 UCL 26 day 1 (bugger)

Will someone add me please.

Thanks muchly

sweetkitty sorry to hear your MIL, very sad news.

Congrats to all the BFP's already and to all AF's or negs

Please let this be a Lucky bus

Thanks for all your OV advice ladies esp the bit about the LP always being the same length regardless of the length of my cycle, v helpful.

Sorry to hear your news sweetkitty, I hope you and your family are doing okay. Hopefully a BFP won't be far away and will bring you all some comfort.

thanks ladies

CD18 here had a bit of what could be EWCM but surely too late, my cycles always were 27 days that's too short although I have a funny feeling I conceived DD2 CD17 or 18 and thought it was too late, maybe we should BD tonight just incase?
