Hi all.

Needing some extra support this time round as have just had a MC. We are trying again straight away. But I've a feeling it's going to take ages. Got pregnant first month trying last 2 times. I have 1 DC- 11 months.

I want some people to join this thread who are ready to hold hands and help each other through the TTC.

Good luck to all.

Does anyone else suffer from brown cervical mucous since miscarriage? For the past 2 months coming up to ovulation I have loads of brown stringy mucuos (sorry for the graphic detail...) Before miscarriage was always 'normal' ie white cervical mucous. I've googled and apparently the brown colour is a sign of old blood, but my mc was 3 months ago so surely shouldn't still have old blown in my system. Just wish my body would get back to normal, so bloody frusrating!

Neeko · 16/05/2009 15:06

Hi engelbart. That hasn't happened to me and i'm sure it's just your body settling down but if you're worried think about seeing your doctor or phoning your EPU for advice.
Hope all of you are having a good weekend.

engelbart · 16/05/2009 18:14

Hello Neeko, I think its my body still settling down too. Don't have any pain, no smell etc so not an infection (I hope) and only seems to happen when I'm ovulating. I just wish my body would get back to normal! Checked my clearblue ovultation monitor and I'm approaching peak fertility which has reassure me a bit, at least my body is still ovulating...

How is everyone else doing?

Neeko · 16/05/2009 20:12

engelbart - obviously I'm hoping you're pg by next month, but if not and the mucus comes again I'd definitely get checked out.
My DH came home on Fri and we've managed to do the deed twice since then . I'm hoping for a temp rise tomorrow and then I'll be officially on the 2ww (hopefully for the last time ever!)

jardins · 17/05/2009 09:44

Dear all, guess what? I did a test last night at around 3.30am - at CD 29 - AND IT WAS BFP!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't going to test this week-end but my cycles are usually no longer than 28 days. Also I was so tired and emotional yesterday and have been having regular bouts of nausea and sore breasts too.

I am so HAPPY girls. Although I cannot ignore the fear that I feel after my mc two months ago. I guess it's a much quieter joy.

How is everybody out there?

HappyBump · 17/05/2009 12:13

Wow!! Congratulations Jardins. Fabulous news.
I have about a week to wait until I can test ... or not.

jasmaxxy · 17/05/2009 17:44

Hi everyone, so happy to have found this thread, i've been a member of 'knicker checkers for a few months' then had the dreaded mc in early april, now on CD12, hello again tattifer better luck with me this time....I cant believe how similar all of our stories are, and worries and everthing...including the non performing DH, so gld its not just me, we we right in the middle friday evening and he just stopped....could not believe it! he thought i was putting too much presure on him!! I only spoke to him again this morning...because needs must! Finally, I am 43, and have x2 dd's and x1 ds, and x2 mc, and i too wonder if i dont have any viable eggs left, any thoughts anyone??

boodleboot · 17/05/2009 18:00

YEY WOOOOHOOOOOO....some great news there jardins.....brilliant.....one down and well, erm, quite a few to go but hey WE WILL GET THERE....

welcome jasmaxxy

i am in a very good mood today as i have discovered some stringy mucus and know no [thanks to you guys....NEVER TMI on this thread ha]that this may mean that i am ovulating AND it is 'wax on' day....

luckywinner · 17/05/2009 19:03

Boodle, get thee to your inseminator, pronto.

I had a temp rise today although think it might be a little unreliable as ds woke me up a lot!

This is a quick post but will be back to say hello to you jasmaxxy later.

Neeko · 17/05/2009 20:09

Congrats jardins Lovely news It's understandable that you feel a bit wobbly but we'll all be here to hold your hand.

Welcome to jasmaxxy

Boodleboot Hope your waxing's going well

luckywinner · 17/05/2009 21:52

Sorry meant to say huge congrats jardins. I am so pleased for you. And like Neeko said, we are here to hold your hand.

Jasmaxxy, if it makes you feel any better I am 34 and have had 2 mc. When did you have your mc? Its horrible when you are in this position as you worry about any little thing that could have contributed to a mc.

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend.

Thandeka · 18/05/2009 09:36

Brill news Jardins!

HappyBump · 18/05/2009 10:44

I'm trying to put on my [brave face]. This afternoon I am meeting up with a mum who is due in the middle of August. She had her first DS about the same time as me. I don't meet up with her very regularly (although she is lovely) so I hadn't told her I was pregnant then mc.

When I bumped into someone else at a new playgroup last week who is due on "my" due date who had her first about a week before me (I'd met her few times previously during her last pregnancy). I felt very sad and teary I almost left the playgroup. I am hoping that it all goes okay this afternoon.

On a brighter note I am also secretly hoping my teariness is an early symptom of pregnancy ... that am my elevated sense of smell ... no no I am not going too crazy trying to symptom spot.

Hope everyone else is doing okay.

jasmaxxy the exact same thing happened to my DH in the middle of s*x. I don't know why they don't realise how much pressure it is on us as well ... My DH has promised to pull up his socks for the next month (although he is also hoping that I get a BFP so he's off the hook!)

jasmaxxy · 18/05/2009 11:13

luckywinnerhappybump I had mmc in oct 2007, and then this one late march early april, so early days, but i feel manic. Its normally DH complaining and putting the pressure on, and now its me, he's even said that 'its' aching and he doesnt feel well! Charming. I just keep thinking because of my age I'm running out of time, and this really stresses me out.

jardins · 18/05/2009 11:38

Thank you to everybody for their supportive, positive words.

Thandeka, I'm with you all the way, first, for TTC and second, for your job decisions. I dunno if I went on about this in a past post but I gave up teaching last June BEFORE it wore me down too much. My anxiety levels were, I think, way too high. How are you today?

Dear HappyBump I feel for you; I remember after my mc end of March walking past two heavily pregnant mums at school (one is onto her fifth!) and feeling .... pained. Your symptoms sound encouraging. Tiredness and sore breasts did not kick in until 3 days ago. I have been tearful and emotional for quite a while now and I had regular bouts of nausea, which I put down to my sore throat. Now I understand why my virus took so long to clear up: my body's been doing other things.

Neeko · 18/05/2009 12:35

Jardins I'm a teacher so I'm really interested to know what you do now that you're out of it.

Summer2008 · 18/05/2009 12:49

Hi All,

What a nice supportive threat to see.

I am in the same position as you all. Had MMC at 9 weeks in Feb and on my first real cycle since then. I am using clear blue digital ovulation kits and on CD18 and no positive yet.

Anyone else had a similar expirience?

Congrats Jardins!!!

luckywinner · 18/05/2009 14:54

Jardins Neeko that's really interesting to hear you are a teacher as I was one when I had my first mc. I had to give it up afterwards as I just couldn't handle the stress and the way I was feeling about the mc. I was teaching nursery and there were far too many babies and pregnancy around for me to deal with.

Jas I completely understand how you feel about being manic. I don't feel like that this time but I did when I had my first one. Partyly because I had had a termination 5 years before the mc and I felt like after I had had the mc I had blown my only chance to get pregnant. I think it is only natural to put this type of pressure on yourself after a mc. You look for reasons to blame yourself.

HappyBump I am really keeping my fingers crossed for you that you do get a bfp. It is horrid when people announce pregnancies all around you.

Summer I am on exactly the same cd day as you! I thought I had had a temp rise but it was a false alarm. I haven't seen the digital ovulation kits. Is it any good? I am trying to keep it low key from dh as he will get himself in a tizz. Lots of luck for you this month though.

luckywinner · 18/05/2009 14:57

ps Bubble any sign of AF?

Summer2008 · 18/05/2009 16:09

luckywinner - i know how you feel, i am keeping low key from dh also. He is not one for pressure.

I am finding the digitals ok, every day i have had a negative and they remove the stress of is there a line or isnt there.

Its my first time of using anything like this and the only reason was to see what was happening with my cycle since the MC.

They are quite expensive but you can get them from Ebay for around £10.

Still waiting for my positive though!!!

Inspirachion · 18/05/2009 17:50

After my mc in october I am on month 7 of round 2 ttc #1

Just been looking back over my charts and i'd say my cycles were up the swanney for at least 3 months after the mc with ovulation on days 20, 30 then not at all! Ran off to the doctor in panic and she sent me for scan and blood tests - which were fine. Now seemed to have got back in sync. The more recent 3 cycles have all shown ovulaiton at around day 15 so I'm hoping my body is all recovered. I'm 38 next month and it would have been my due date next month too - desparately trying not to feel the time pessure!

Did have to hide tears in the office the other day when someone spotted a woman eating ginger biscuits , put 2 and 2 togther and outed her unannounced pregnancy. Sooooo wish I was in the same boat!

jardins · 18/05/2009 18:14

All these teachers ey? Luckywinner, yep, I know what you mean. I used to teach adults (in company training) which was generally great although the working hours were terrible. In Paris (I was DOS) we were sending yound newly qualified teachers out on 30 plus hrs a week of teaching + travel time. After a few years of school teaching I felt worn out: it was the noise factor which did me in the most and the fact one has to seduce the kids into working so much. Generally the pupils give back as much as you give but the lengths you have to go to to make them want to work. Crikey.

Neeko I'm living in France and very fortunate to be bilingual (I have my parents to thank for that) so I do translation work. I am also completing a Phd (and suspect I will be 'completing' it this time next year to). I also get paid for writing articles on my Phd subject.

What would you like to do Neeko? And you Thandeka? Any ideas?

I'll be honest, this TTC lark has been taking up an awful lot of my brain space these past few months, especially with the mc in March.

Neeko · 18/05/2009 21:44

TBH Jardins I'd like to be a SAHM as I have a DD 2.7. However, we moved house in October and now have a much bigger mortgage so it's just not possible. Most days I enjoy my job but I teach English so the marking takes over your life. My m/c in March has taught me that I need to find a better work/life balance. Still it's only 7 weeks til my summer hols!
Know what you mean about your head being full. TTC is all-consuming, isn't it?
Lucky what do you do now?
Hope everyone else is doing ok.

amyboo · 19/05/2009 08:03

Can I come in and join? I had a mmc about 3 weeks ago - scan at 13 weeks, baby had died around 12 weeks - after a perfectly fine 10 week scan. That baby would have been #1 for us. sigh We've been told to wait 1 month before ttc again. So, almost at the end of my wait (I hope!). Anyway, I've been lurking a bit here seeing how everyone's getting on, and I just thought I'd pop in and say hello. It's nice to know there are people in the same boat as me and dh.

Bubblebell1 · 19/05/2009 08:12
