Hi all.

Needing some extra support this time round as have just had a MC. We are trying again straight away. But I've a feeling it's going to take ages. Got pregnant first month trying last 2 times. I have 1 DC- 11 months.

I want some people to join this thread who are ready to hold hands and help each other through the TTC.

Good luck to all.

Why did I do it?

Do what I hear you ask.

Take a pregnancy test - a BFN.

Honestly, sometimes my stupidity amazes me. I mean what the hell did I think was going to happen. DH and I have only been trying 2 weeks, I have PCOS and I don't think I'm anywhere near due a period.

So again I ask why did I do it, especially as I'm now sitting here miserable, thinking it's never going to happen and almost ready to give up.

I'll tell you why I did it, because I'M CONVINCED I'M PREGNANT .

Why am I convinced, I don't really know considering it took us about 2-2 1/2 years to conceive last time, but the lower abdominal cramping might be a good place to start.

It's entirely possible I am pregnant, given that last time I knew as soon as I'd conceived. It might be that I tested wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too early.

This is not my fault. I want to be pregnant. I am doing everything I can to get pregnant including having sex every other day, taking metformin and prenatal vitamins, trying to follow a healthy diet and abstaining from caffiene. It is not my fault I have PCOS, it's not something I asked for. It is out of my hands that DS goes to nursery in November, I have to go back to work and even if by some miracle I did get pregnant the baby would not be born soon enough to stop DS going. Idealy another baby would have been conceived sooner to stop there being such an age gap, but that wasn't possible.

It is not my fault, I'm doing everything I can. It's just so bloody annoying.

On the plus side DS is taking a nap.

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied · 18/08/2009 12:23

Em- I think 15th-19th August. Have you been bd'ing? Fingers crossed for you and sorry to hear of your MC.

MrsRigby- poor you, you're having a horrible time and it is so easy to end up thinking about TTC all the time. I took about 10 tests when I got pregnant this time. At first they were BFNs, then I convinced myself I could see a very faint line if I left the test a while. Then DP agreed he could see it, and finally I started getting proper BFPs, then carried on taking the tests until they said 3+ weeks. It's easy done. Also, this goes to show that BFNs do eventually turn into BFPs- so don't stop hoping. If you FEEL pregnant, there's a good chance you are. When you go on maternity leave, you can take DS out of nursery- and a little time in nursery until then will help him to learn social skills, though I know it's not very nice for you to go through.

Sorry if I waffled, just wanted to make you feel a little better about it all. xXx

stressyheady · 18/08/2009 12:31

Oh MrsR Don't get down just yet you never know. I'm with you on the age gap thing - that's one of my worst worries but their's FA I can do about it I'm looking at a 4 year gap at least now and it make me v considering that I wasted a good 18 months not ttc because dh didnt want to {angry]

I've POAS 4 times this month and got BFNs - what a waste of money. AF not here yet but dont' feel pg either so she must be on her way. I POAS at least (and am not lying) 16 times with last pg that went tits up but only once with ds - hmm

Welcome em your cycle may be longer this time round as it may take some time to adjust so ? maybe worth getting some ov sticks

becky78 · 18/08/2009 19:41

Evening All, hope everyone is well. Thought I would update the list now we are on a new page so we can keep track.

Em, welcome to the thread and sorry to hear your news, I've added you in based on your post but if I've got any of the details wrong feel free to update. I think we are in sync as 1st day of last AF for me was 5th August and I have 28 day cycle and my m/c was early June.

trixel hope the bd'ing's going well, surely it must be your month this time

Bd time for me too but having a good go this month and heading towards the dreaded tww.

cheepz now your bug is gone any symptoms for you this month? when will you be testing?

Good evening all

Sorry I've been a bit quiet - been trying not to think about it all too much.

Welcome Em - sorry that you're here. I'm sure you'll find everyone really friendly.

Thanks for putting me on the list - have updated my details. Tested today - BFP - but my cycles vary quite a lot and I've no idea what's been going on since the MC. So I guess we'll see.

Correction - that should have read BFN - hmmmnnn... a bit of wishful typing?!

Cheepz · 19/08/2009 16:56

i will not test, i will not test i will not test

i don't think it is going to be this month, i had no idea about dates, we only did the bd a couple of times over a period where I may have been ov (but not any real science other than a sense of it at some ewcm) and i am not going to test until i see AF because I will not subject myself to the sinking feeling and then misery that is trying desparately to see a line there that isn't there. My boobs arnt sore or big, I don;t have cramps, I am not spotty, I don't feel sick, so not alllowing a shred of optimism that this month we have done it

testing even when you don't think you are still leads to such crushing disappointment i would rather leave it and wait for AF if I am right or for some more signs or symptoms if I am wrong - if i am wrong the later i test the less time i have to worry

i am being totally rational about it because i don't think I will be able to be emotional about it like last time with ds and before the mc because its different now - more new things to worry about so the less i know the better. my diet is good, i keep myself fit and i don't drink so its not like i could inadvertanly damage a baby if i was so thats it - no testing for me, not today, not tomorrow, not on the weekend, not next week - as since i am first cycle post mc could easily be 6 weeks since mc before AF arrives.

I've missed you all in the last few days. Been too busy with work to post - but it feels so good to return to the world of people who understand my obsession interest in dates/testing/anything to do with TCC in general!

Sorry for the AFs where they've appeared. Hope boodle comes back from camping with a nice surprise for us all. I wonder if she read that thread about sex in tents before she went

meita - you definitely win the prize for the most puzzling cycle. You are going to end up a charting queen!

Hoping for a more positive month. I bought a Clearblue monitor and it says I'm coming up to ovulate - so told DH this week is the week

thefatladyscreams · 19/08/2009 18:02

Sorry, forgot to say welcome to em and vivclicquot

stressyheady · 19/08/2009 20:05

...hello? Cooey? AF? are you there? Anyone seen an Auntie F wondering around looking lost? Mine seems to have forgotten to visit.

And, NO, it's not because I'm pg (did ANOTHER test this a.m. - what a dingbat). She just seems to be taking a REALLY long time to get here which is v frustrating as I just want to get back to trying again.

Good for you cheepz for not testing. Unless you're 80% sure, late, boobs are on fire and you could chunder all day it's not worth testing for the level of dissapointment it brings. I've done loads of tests this month even though I know I'm not pg and I still cry each time I finish staring at the stick having talked myself out of the "I'm sure I can see a line" mentality. I'm v to admit that I've even taken the things apart before just to get a closer look at the strip!!! OMG.

No pressure boodle but we're counting on you for good news this month .

Get bonking TFLS !!

thefatladyscreams · 19/08/2009 20:17

Oh stressy. I do wish AF had gone AWOL for you for the right reasons.... but your post did make me laugh. I hadn't thought of dissecting a stick yet - will bear it mind for future reference

zayja · 20/08/2009 14:41

Hi Ladies,
Hope today finds you all well. Also am eagerly anticipating some BFPs!

I just finished my grapefruit juice and am sipping on "Woman's Moon Cycle" tea. Also purchased vitamin B6 and Maca - supposed to make dh and I fertile and frisky, of course dh won't take it Was going to buy the Clearblue monitor but was when I saw the price - $200 and $60 for the sticks, guess I'm sticking with the cheapies!

Just wanted to say that I feel your frustration on the post-mc cycle. It took AF 6w to return for me - now I still haven't ovulated - argh!

Well, with all my teas and supplements, fingers crossed it happens this month - at LEAST ov!

Happy dreaming, BD, and TWW to you all!

VivClicquot · 20/08/2009 21:13

Hi ladies

Hope you're all well. Have realised that if I'm back into a normal-ish cycle, then I'm going to be ovulating next Thursday ... and on Friday, I head to Krakow on my hen do! So am not counting on anything happening this month, but at the very least, we can get some good practice in next week.

Good luck to everyone testing over the next few days.

stressyheady · 20/08/2009 21:21

Where the blazes is my AF? I know my stats say 28-34 but the 34 was a one off ages ago it's usually more like 30.

If AF not coming then I want a BFP!! (didn't test today - am making progress)

I think she's coming - am getting all the warning signs and even went for preventative measures this a.m as had a meeting to go to and couldn't face the would-have-been-typical gush mid speech!! When preventative measure removed (why can't I just say tampon?!) bugger all there - felt dry as a bone (sorry tmi )

WTF is going on????!!!

Went to docs yesterday for unrelated reasons but mentioned ttc she just said they won't do anything for a year if don't fall because I fell first time with ds.

Ah...am moaning again - sorry.

Am defo out for this month (barring a scientifically impossible miracle) - ladies on TWW - it's over to you.

MrsRigby · 20/08/2009 21:34

Evening everyone

Just thought I'd post and tell you I'm still alive.

DH wants to go away for a week next week, so for the past day or so my times been taken up searching for self catering accommodation as I don't really think you can stay in a hotel (which is what he wanted to do) with a 9 month old.

I feel like I've missed loads, god knows what it's going to feel like when I can't access a computer next week - there'll propably be a ton of BFP by then (hopefully I'll be one of them). I'm switching back and forwards between definately being pregnant and accepting that all hope for this month is gone.

Jules2008 · 20/08/2009 21:49

I just wanted to sound, what I hope, is an encouraging note. I'm at the other end of your journey. I already had DS of 2 when I MC 18 months ago. I was beyond distraught - just wanted to die. Cried for weeks especially at the sight of babies. After 3 months was ready to try. We did it at every opportunity in a rather joyless way and I followed every scientific/quasi scientific suggestion at how to get pregnant (to regain control I think). Nothing happened for months; I tested constantly! Doctor diagnosed me with stress and suggested we stopped trying. DH took me to NYC ... little bit of genuine steamy passion and I came back pregnant (unplanned meant I accidentally drank a lot in early weeks but that is another story ...). Apparently, this sort of pattern is very common.

Happy ending is my DS now aged 9 months. From the bottom of my heart, I wish you all the very best of luck ladies! You wouldn't believe how many of us others have been what you are going through - you are not alone - be strong. XXX.

MrsRigby · 20/08/2009 21:55

Jules2008 thank you so much for that. I'm almost in tears. I really identified with you on everything you said.

thefatladyscreams · 20/08/2009 22:35

Great story jules, lovely to hear a positive outcome. I've heard that holidays can often do the trick. So make sure you book that cottage MrsR

Vent away stressy. This AF sounds like a real wind up merchant.

VivClicquot - bad luck re the timing but your hen do sounds fantastic. At least you can knock back a few without worrying.

zayja - sounds like you've been busy shopping! I thinks it's really common to not ovulate in the first cycle (don't think I did) - I try and think of it as my body putting all its energy into healing itself so I've got the best shot next time (lame but it was all I could come up with ).

Cheepz · 20/08/2009 23:17

jules2008 bless you

stressy r u on cycle 0 or 1? am assuming there has been one af since mc hence cycle 1 - might be that its going to take a couple of months to settle hope not for you but maybe

mrsr you're not allowed to go anywhere - whose going to keep us all giggling

so i have no symptoms = not for being pg and not for af ... i am in some purgatory of post mc cycle 0 vagueness whihc means i have not a clue as to whether i can be expecting af in a couple of days or a couple of weeks. as a result I am off to buy a skinny top to wear out to dinner with dh tomorrow night and plan to enjoy a glass of wine and some romance!

applesaretheonlyfruit · 21/08/2009 10:08

Hi everyone,

I am on the other post mc ttc without waiting thread and have a question that some of you may be able to help me with..

I had a ERPC on 20 July after mmc at 8wks, having seen hb at 7wks. Think I caught the ov, but I think I should be due AF today. Had very very light bleeding, a whisper really, on Mon, Tues, Weds, Thurs this week. Now nothing.. where is AF, shouldn't it have arrived by now?? This is driving me a bit crazy, because before ERPC I was very regular.. did this happen to others??
