Hi all.

Needing some extra support this time round as have just had a MC. We are trying again straight away. But I've a feeling it's going to take ages. Got pregnant first month trying last 2 times. I have 1 DC- 11 months.

I want some people to join this thread who are ready to hold hands and help each other through the TTC.

Good luck to all.

Afternoon all. Thanks for the warm welcomes. Am going crazy waiting for my body to get over the mc and back to normal. Keep having spotting on and off and making me crazy as ready to move on. Cheers to the poster who mentioned amazon- ordered the cheap ovulation and preg tests they have an while slightly less convenient (need to wee in a cup), much, much cheaper and arrived next day! Tired of investing in clearblue anymore.

amyboo · 22/07/2009 16:00

How long is it since your mc oremstango? It took me 12 days to stop bleeding completely after my ERPC, and 29 days for af to return. Hope things get back to normal for you soon.

More symptom spotting from me today. I'm sure I'm imagining them though, so am (vainly) trying not to get my hopes up again after the crushing disappointment of last month.

stressyheady · 22/07/2009 18:14

Welcome back Becky hope all is well. You're right we need some BFPs.

Sorry to hear no line yet Boodle but am keeping fingers crossed for you - you never know could just be down to the test, time of day, amount you've had to drink and it's still early days? So know what you're saying re weight gain. I was large to large before MMC and am now massive having comfort eaten my way through early pg and then getting over it.

fingers crossed amyboo when will you test?

AF FINALLY here - never thought I'd be so pleased to see her. Is totally not like previous AFs but was told to expect that (v heavy) but am pleased things still seem to be working down there so have warned DH that I'll be pestering him soon.

How sad is this - have been asked to do something on what will be CD 14 which means spending night away from DH and am seriously considering saying no so that I can be home for BD on what's supposed to be the best day!! OMG talk about putting life on hold...

luckywinner · 23/07/2009 19:53

Just thought I would let you all know that my news is not good news I am afraid. My baby died between last thursday and this thursday. They saw a cyst on the umbilical cord and think maybe that's what caused it.

I am going in tomorrow to have an erpc. I just couldn't face waiting however many weeks for it to happen, which happened to me last time.

I am sad, but also relieved. Relieved that I didn't have to make any horrible decisions.

I am going to slink away from this thread a bit while I try to sort out my head a bit. But I am def going to keep checking up on all you lovely ladies.

boodleboot · 23/07/2009 20:06

ah bollocks. bollocks for you lucky....i am so sorry this has happened to you again. No words, just lots of love and sympathy.

hope to see you soon. please bookmark us.

becky78 · 23/07/2009 20:42

oh lucky, I can't imagine how you are feeling having this happen again. I'm so sorry but please come back when you are feeling up to it

hey stressy I know exactly how you feel as you are about 2 weeks behind me! today is CD14 for me and DH is out at a leaving do for work but managed to fit in BD yesterday, the day before and hopefully tomorrow so fingers crossed for this month.

boodle - have you tested again with your clear blue test or are you holding off until AF is due? Did you say she was due at the weekend?

boodleboot · 23/07/2009 21:31

hi bec...yeah AF due sat if my cycle is 28 day like i think it is...have been very hormonal, boobs def sore, cheapie test doen this mornin still says zilch tho. will test with digital on sat morning....would love to be PG but have been really ill last two days with a really gross skin infection all over head eyes and bits down below.....seriously gross. cream and antibiotics helping finally but still feel like total minger...i will understand if not 'stuck' this month but be pretty and

how about you? any news?

oh and YES Sarah frickin Beeney must be the most fertile woman i have ever seen....is it in her contract that she wil only film when full of arms and legs????

becky78 · 23/07/2009 21:51

No news yet as I'm in the ttc bit so trying to follow your shag plan but can't quite keep up with you!! Will be starting the 2ww soon so you guys make it go quicker when your testing days come around in between - I think I would be almost (but not quite!) as excited when you all get bfp's as when I do

stressyheady · 23/07/2009 21:52

Oh Lucky am SO SO sorry . Think you've made right decision with ERPC. I do hope you recover physically quickly and that, in time, your emotions heal too. It's such a completely shit time.

Please look after yourself and come back when you feel up to it. Will be thinking of you and keeping fingers crossed for future.

Big virtual hugs. xx

amyboo · 24/07/2009 07:50

Lucky I'm so sorry this has happened to you again. Hope the ERPC isn't too much of a horrible emotional experience for you.

I'm on CD28 and am slowly losing my mind I think. I have a list of potential symptoms a mile long, but as they can all also be explained by something else I'm trying (and failing) not to get my hopes up. I nearly caved and went to the pharmacy opposite my office this morning to buy a test. But I figured that if I'm pregnant, I'll still be pregnant tomorrow and I can buy a cheaper test in the supermarket; and that if I'm not pregnant then I'll just be wasting ?14 on a pointless test.

Sorry to hear you've not been feeling great the last few days boodle. I'll cross my fingers for you at the same time as I cross them for me.

Good luck with the shag plan becky and enjoy ;)

amyboo · 25/07/2009 10:39

BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No sign of af this morning, and I'm normally as regular as anything, so I bought a test this morning, and voilà! Am now sh*t scared that the pregnancy test is lying to me.

Still keeping my fingers crossed for you boodle

boodleboot · 25/07/2009 19:28

that is awesome news amy!!!!!!!!!!!!

i am soooo jealous - i had another BFN this morning. no signs of AF tho so bit confused...maybe i got my cycle length wrong....will test again each morning til SHE arrives....

the test isn't lying and i will pray your bean sticks good and tight. nice one hunny....xxxxx

what news from the rest of you ladies??

amyboo · 26/07/2009 09:20

Ah thanks boodle. Sorry to hear you've still got no signs... I'm keeping my fingers crossed though, as af not being here yet is definitely a good sign!

x

boodleboot · 26/07/2009 12:04

BFN.....again on a cheapie....not doing my last digital as cannot face it saying NOT PREGNANT again....

still dont feel any preg symptoms so sure AF on her way....feel tearful and bit grey....can't believe it isn't happening again this month....thats three months now...

bollocks.

Trixel · 26/07/2009 12:22

hi girls,
can't believe it's been so long since i last spoke to you! been on my jollies, and swamped with work. lovely to see some newbies here, a big welcome to you.
amy, that's such brilliant news!!!! i'm so pleased for you, hurray!
boodle, sorry about the bfns, it is indeed bollocks with a capital B. your time will come though, promise promise promise.
i'm now in that feckin 2ww having given it quite a good go this month. although nothing like the boodle shag plan i'm afraid! don't have the stamina for that! we bd'd day 10, 11, 13 & 14 - those were the important ones anyway. days 10 and 11 were high on my fertility monitor and 13 & 14 were peak, so i'm hoping we may be on a winner.
but who knows!!!!?!?
lucky i am so gutted for you. so so sad. stay with us though. i have found that the thread slips off my "I'm on" section, but found it on my "I'm watching" eventually. was worried i might not be able to find you again! so as boodle says - bookmark / "watch" us and let us know how you're getting on.
boodle - just seen, you were due yesterday weren't you? has af not arrived? have you been doing "early" tests, or is there a chance they havent been sensitive enough?
xx

boodleboot · 26/07/2009 15:42

naah. AF has just arrived...well the blood tinged CM so shes def on way. crapola.

the thought of all that BD again fills me with horror....three cycles past erpc now....really thought i would have fallen by now. never considered it would take a while...would it be totally unreasonable to consider buying clomid of the t'internet????

welcome back trix.

amyboo · 26/07/2009 18:50

Oh Bollocks for you with a huge capital B boodle. I really hoped we'd both be lucky this month, as we seem to have been on the same timetable up to now.

I wouldn't go down the clomid route just yet personally. Last month I definitely didn't have what I would call a "normal" period, so I really feel it took a couple of months to recover from the ERPC. Perhaps your body is still recovering?

Fingers crossed for you on the 2ww trixel

Trixel · 26/07/2009 19:14

Is an erpc what i know as a d&c or are they different?
I never had anything like that. With my mmc they were keen that it all came out on its own, then scanned. And the early (6w) mc was the same actually.
Even Pip, the baby we had to terminate at 21wks as unviable, was without that. They gave me a tablet orally, then vaginally and that brought it all on.
Do they tend to do d&cs, or erpcs in your areas?
Feck feck feck about af Boodle. What a royal cowbag.

luckywinner · 26/07/2009 21:29

Amyboo yippee yippee yippee I am so so pleased for you. Boodle that is crap. Truly crap. Please don't despair, it will happen. But I want it to happen for you quickly so you don't have to feel so terrible when it doesn't.
Stressy Thank you for thinking of me. You're right it is so friggin crap it has happened again. Physically I feel completely out of it, emotionally I feel all over the place.
Trixel Don't worry I have the thread bookmarked, I won't lose you lovely lot, I am just not sure how much use I am to you all. An erpc is apparently different to a d&c, more the tools they use I think.

My beautiful ds, 4, keeps giving me kisses and telling me he will look after me while I am poorly. But he definitely knows something is up. We snuggled on the sofa and watched the motorbike racing on the tv and he sobbed when Valentino Rossi crashed his bike. He is a sensitive soul but not that sensitive.

lots of love to you all and here is a lorry load of super strong baby dust for you Amyboo.

Cheepz · 26/07/2009 21:36

hi all, just having / had mc - 1st one, have one ds from straightforward pregnancy so this is all new territory for me. perhaps you can guide me through? no idea what to do next, see a doctor, get checked out - I was 5 + 2 so very early days still and then what will happen to my cycle, when will be back to normal cycle, when should start ttc again, how long to wait etc

cant believe am back to the beginning again...

Trixel · 26/07/2009 22:19

oh cheepz, sorry to hear that. glad you're here on one hand, but not why you're here.
we had a mc at about your stage last december, and we had a half-hearted attempt at trying before i'd had a period. but without knowing when you ovulate it's a bit tricky. they do tend to say wait until after a period, but from what i've gathered that's mainly for dating the pregnancy rather than anything else. if the pregnancy was further on they may want you to let your body recover for a cycle, but i think you're probably okay to try whenever you're ready to. there is some anecdotal evidence that we are more fertile after a mc, but that could of course be codswallop.
i did find, though, that my first af after that mc came pretty much on cue at around 28-30 days. same with our mmc at 12 wks, come to think of it.
lucky - i'm so glad you've got your ds making you feel better with love and kisses. they make it all seem so much better don't they. bless him.

Cheepz · 26/07/2009 22:24

thanks trixel
my cycles normally very regular 27 or 28 days and use persona so will be able to get fairly clear dates / times from next AF

didn't realise you could get pregnant after mc but before next AF, i think we will just do what comes naturally and let nature take its course

am trying to hold on to the notion that the chances are it was not a viable pregnancy and better to find out sooner than later, but had been trying for 4 months and 37 next month so was hoping to beat the birthday so is dissapointing and hugging ds at bedtime made me feel both lucky to have a healthy bub and sad to think that we will have to wait a little longer for another

had been pretty excited, not looking forward to work tomorrow, will be hard to concentrate...

thanks for support and info though x

Trixel · 26/07/2009 22:34

the old adage of "these things happen for a reason" gets wheeled out, and is irritating because it doesnt take account of emotions at all - but it is frustratingly true much of the time. my mum had a number of early miscarriages before she went on to have my sister and then the rest of us (5 of us little blighters!), and she always maintains her womb was just getting ready. i don't think that theory holds up scientifically myself () but i guess the sentiment's there.
something wasnt right this time, but next time i'm sure it'll be fine.
how old's your ds?

thefatladyscreams · 26/07/2009 22:50

amyboo - that's fantastic! Has the news sunk in yet?

trixel - I'm intrigued by the references to boodle's shag plan! Hope your version has done the trick for you.

boodle Sorry about this month - sending you a virtual glass/bottle of wine. Not worrying about swine flu and having a glass of wine seem to be the main consolations to not being pregnant that I can find at the moment!

cheepz - sorry you're in this boat. I m/c a week ago and share your questions about next ovulation etc. Interesting what you said trixel about your cycle returning to normal quite quickly. Does anyone have any idea on when you ovulate following a m/c?

lucky - hope you're doing OK if you pop back in.

amyboo · 27/07/2009 08:30

Hello cheepz - sorry you're having to join this thread. I think it's worth getting a doctor's appointment, just to check everything has gone iyswim.

lucky my heart really goes out to you. It must be such an emotional time for you. Thank you so much for the super strong baby dust. I really hope this one sticks.

The news hasn't really sunk in yet. Just rung my gynae to get an appointment and he's on holidays till 9th August, after which I'm on holidays. So, I'm going to get an appointment with the emergency doctor he's left as a contact. Otherwise I'd be nearly 8 weeks by the time I saw someone, and I think I'd be going crazy with worry by then!

Hope you don't mind me hanging around here for a while. I can't possibly jinx things by joining any antenatal threads.
