Hi everyone. I am starting up a new thread since our old one was reaching the 1000 post limit.

Here is a link to the old thread.

Hi all,
stac thanks for asking, Ileft message with consultant secretary. hoping they get back to me tomorrow, if not I'll ring again. Difficult as I'm teaching.

Alfie hi, good you back and on CD 25, fingers x for you

islegrin will join you in the rain dance

beanieb I didn't have any side effects last time I took 50mg clomid either

millymolly I got even worse flushes than I normally do when on the provera, they've subsided now

fruitbowl how's your DD day at school? How did you feel?

fruitbowl · 20/04/2009 23:44

Hi everyone. Thanks for nice messages. DD had fine time at school. It's only afternoons this week and it's a tiny school where she knows a few kids already so phew - started off well and I didn't blub!

Feeling bloody pessimistic if truth be known. I'm getting my head round the next 5 months on clomid not being successful. I have a less than 10% chance and I feel time's running out as I'm 41 next month. Also have a sneaking feeling that someone close to me will announce a pg soon and I'll have to be brave

Sorry to bring a downer on it all. I'm feeling I should try and let myself down gently as this is the end of the road for us if this doesn't work. Need to get on with our lives.

God. Sorry! Hope you nice ladies all feeling brighter! (swigs some gin and slopes off to bed) (metaphorically obviously) (although I do have some nice sloe gin in the cupboard...) x

islegrin · 21/04/2009 00:16

fruitbowl I hear slo gin is good over fresh fruit ~ it couldn't hurt! I can imagine what it would be like to be told that I have to try a futile medicine for 5 months - arggg! I'd be selling DH on ebay to raise money, or something. Can you convince them to give you the clomid + something else for these 5 months? That way you could possibly raise your chances a bit more? I mean, even with clomid, menopur, metformin, ovitrelle, estrogen patch, and crinome my chances last time were only 18%! (completely maddening)

I can hear the gin fizzing now... ahhhhh!

Lisylou1980 · 21/04/2009 15:54

Hi all
Well just rang my gyny and my 21 day blood results were 54 so i have ovulated this month and my levels are higher than last month. Feel a bit more positive, so we will wait and see if the weekend brings anything!!

Alfiemax · 21/04/2009 17:47

Hiya Ladies,

Hope everyone is ok.

Stac I haven't took any clomid since my first lot in January, I will be starting again this month (fingers crossed). Am now CD26 and absolutley pooping myself because I am now beginning to build my hopes up. And truth be told I did start bleeding the evening before so technically I could be CD27 (that's how I counted pre clomid). That hasn't happened in years, 7 to be precise. I really don't want to test though because I know it will be bfn followed by a heavy af. My tummy still feels weird and has done for nearly 2 weeks now. But surely that wouldn't be because I'm pg as it started when I ov'd and hasn't stopped.

What to do girls what to do?? Should I test in the morning if af hasn't shown? Should I wait until I get passed the CD28? Even though I haven't gone that long in such a long time.

I'm starting to go a bit loopy here. Never the less I'm looking forward to re-starting clomid if af does arrive.

Alfiemax · 21/04/2009 17:48

Forgot to say Lisy well done on your results mate. Onwards and upwards. How's your aches and pains been the last few days?? Gone I hope

XX

Clure · 21/04/2009 19:37

Alfie you test when you think the time is right.
fruitbowl I totally understand where you are coming from, I too feel that my time is running out quickly. I'm 41
lisy you sound really positive - well done
Hi stac hope you are doing ok
Hi islegrin awen

no af here but had a funny pain in side of tummy earlier - like ovulation pain. Mad!!

hello to you all and babydust

mummycat1 · 21/04/2009 19:42

Alfie I don't want to advise you on when to test as BFNs are so soul-destroying, but everything does sound good. Am wishing hard for you?

Lisy good results - roll on the weekend xx

Awen I'm glad you are back on - was worried after your previous message where you sounded so low. Baby dust to you

I'm 8DPO on a Clomid free month and have had funny achey feeling in womb area all afternoon. Don't want to read anything into it, but just want to say it as I feel like I'm going mad.

Have the busyiest maddest week going on which will culminate on Saturday with me taking four boys to the peak district at 7am so that they can do their practice expedition for D of E!!

xxx to all

islegrin · 21/04/2009 21:14

Well, I had my CD10 scan... and I feel like I want to cry, even though I suppose the results aren't that bad, it was not as good as I was hoping/expecting.

My left side tube is blocked, but on the left side there is 1 fol at 24mm. (big bummer, great size but wrong SIDE!!!)

Right side there is 1 fol at 14mm, doc says that at 15mm it's mature and can ovulate and make a baby. So I guess that's the one we're trying for this time.

IUI scheduled for Friday.

Waving hi to everyone! Babydust to all!!! I can't wait to hear some great news from you.

Lisylou1980 · 21/04/2009 21:14

Hi
Alfie My stomach is still feeling strange and like you it started at ovulation, you never know this could be our month, fingers, toes, legs and arms crossed!!! i';m dying to do an early test as i'm due anywhere from thursday longest cycle would take me to tuesday!!! i hate waiting. I really shouldnt get my hopes up but something feels different this month.
How's everyone

beanieb · 21/04/2009 22:19

I have a scan tomorrow to check I am not being over stimulated. No pains or any sign of ovulation (I ovulate anyway) but I am only on CD 8 and don't usually ovulate until about CD 12/13.

Not sure when is the 'right time' to start having sex but we're getting practice in now. Should we go every other day and then do a few days in a row?

stac14 · 21/04/2009 22:24

Hi everyone
I'm ok a bit down today but it wil be the clomid so not too worried. Cramps have been really bad and restless but only 2 more tablets and then its the wait for ovulation.

clure did you hear from consultant yet?

mummycat alfie lisylou keeping all crossed for you all this month

islegrin I know its not the biggest folicle on the right but it can still mature so thik positive

Awen have you still to get CD21 bloods done?

And now my doc said theres a chance i will need them again after being on no contraception for over a year. just waiting to see consultant so fingers crossed i will be joining you all soon. i now how stressfull it can be but try and keep a clear head xx

AttilaTheMeerkat · 22/04/2009 10:51

beanieb

Please forget all about this idea of "the right time".

Would say make love when you both feel like it and through the cycle as well (think the standard advice is two or three times a week throughout the cycle). Do not put undue pressure on yourselves by adopting any idea of timed intercourse - it is really not necessary and can instead place undue presuure on a relationship.

stac14 · 22/04/2009 10:55

Hi attila
How was your holiday? hope you had a great time.

Dani Its good to hear success stories, look forward to you joining us through the clomid journey

xx

beanieb · 22/04/2009 11:53

Hiya Atilla, no worries. We DO have sex at other times of the month, but being on clomid I naturally don't want to be too free and easy as it means there was little point taking the drug IMO.

We had sex last night, totally the 'wrong' time but very enjoyable. I just had a scan and have been told I will probably ovulate some time in the next three days so of course I will be wanting to have sex at some point during the next few days.

I am afraid that I have made sure that my OH will be around during the times I need him to be, and he has arranged his stag do to make sure he is here. Some planning is needed surely?

amazelucy · 22/04/2009 13:15

Hi All

I'm completely new to the site but have been trying to search online for some answers and really not getting very far!! And reading your threads have been really interesting so thought you may be able to help!

So apologies for any of my abbreviations or lack of them!

Basically my DH and I are now TTC. We tried for about 6 months last year then stopped when I got a new job. But in that time my periods were really irregular. So I went to the doctor, had blood tests and then a scan and got diagnosed with PCOS and prescribed Metformin which I?ve been taking ever since.

And I was then also straight back taking the pill up until 2 weeks ago, and we've decided to try again now. I went to my doctor who prescribed Clomid - I was quite shocked to be given it so easily and she didn?t give me a lot of information - so though I?m please she's helping I feel a bit in the dark. I was having periods whilst on the pill but didn?t know if they were "real" periods. But I took the Clomid on the first day of my period on Friday 17th for 5 days until yesterday.

I know that I should be ovulating in a few days time etc. But yesterday and today I?ve been suffering with cystitis - is this a common side effect??

I also feel really run down and headachy today - again is this common??

Sorry for the info overload! Any advice/help would be appreciated!

Thanks, Lucy

millymolly83 · 22/04/2009 13:29

hi stac am ok ye still geting really bad cramp. and bad hot flushes. one min am ON FIRE then am cold its so weird. so how are u geting on with clomid

stac14 · 22/04/2009 17:30

Hi amazelucy
Your gp seems on the ball, what monitoring are you getting? eg. day 10 scans or day 21 bloods? This ttc stuff is a minefield and like you I am pretty new to it all. Head aches are very common, you may feel run down due to the cystitus but I dont think clomid causes that. MAybe you just need to increase your fluids. What doseage of clomid are you on?

millymolly Sounds like you will come on quickly. I feel ok this is my 2nd time on 100mg last tablets tonight. Last month I was very weepy but feel ok now maybe my body is getting used to it.

Hi ladies, long time no blog!lol. I check in every few days, actually to see how you all are, just don't have a lot to say. I had my 3rd sonogram today, so far so good...the baby is a little bean and the heart is pumping good. I've been referred to a perinatal specialist along with my OBGYN due to my age and some thyroid/hbp issues I've had for the last few years...

I hope you all are very well, and I can't wait to see who the next graduate is!!

Baby Dust to everyone!!
