Hi everyone. I am starting up a new thread since our old one was reaching the 1000 post limit.

Here is a link to the old thread.

Hi ladies, hope everyone is doing OK,

clairebear I know what you mean about bd TTC and doing it because you want to rather then have to because of timing! this cycle is med free for us so hoping not to symptom spot etc and get back into the wanting to rather then having to bd!

fruitbowl · 19/04/2009 00:51

Gosh yeah Clairbear! I was wondering the other day when me n DH would ever get back to it simply for pleasure. It's taken most of the enjoyment out of it for us for some time sadly if I'm honest . Much of the time we'd rather go to sleep!!

Anyone got any tips about which cough medicines are good for the old CM??

Hi to all x

islegrin · 19/04/2009 03:31

fruitbowl I think it only matters that it is guaifenesin, not really which brand name. I'm not sure about in the UK, but here they had me on Mucinex, the 12 hour kind. Beware TMI: it does change the way you smell.

Welcome millymolly and other newbies to this thread.

Wonder how Brandybaby and Westkazza are doing?

Not much to report here yet. The Letrozole seems to be working, have headaches still (or they could just be headaches) but my hot flashes are greatly reduced vs. clomid. TMI alert: I also have much better CM again, I didn't realize on clomid the last two months that it was completely missing. While I was a little unsure when the doc recommended it, now I think it was a good move, but will know for sure on Tuesday when the scan reveals the lining thickness.

The doc & nurse also wanted me to give the menopur shot in the muscle this time, but I was too chicken. Last night I put on my big pants and did it, gave the shot to myself in the arm, even pulled it back for bubbles. Didn't hurt that much, but it was scary with that big of a needle. But I did it! (small victory for a silly 37 year old) So I will attempt that again tonight.

Yesterday I was talking to a friend, who was telling me that I make my work too much of my life. She said she was very pleased when DH and I bought a house (last fall), because she thinks I need to settle down, have babies and focus on my personal life a little more. I was so tempted to tell her... but I just SMILED and told her that I agree.

Westkazza · 19/04/2009 11:58

Hello All, not been on for a few days as been mega busy. Had some rubbish news on Fri. DH got his results back and they were worst than the first ones. Spoke to GP and was told that any chance of Clomid working was slim because we now both have problems. Asked about IVF but GP said we would have to go through 5 more months of Clomid before we could be considered

Back on provera and feel shocking headaches really bad this time. Hope everyone else is ok? xx

Lisylou1980 · 19/04/2009 16:53

HI all
Well party was ok apart from being sick after every pint and half!!! Very unusual for me and i can normally drink alot!!!! Gonna ring up Tuesday for my resualts so will keep you updated. Hows every one else doing??

mummycat1 · 19/04/2009 18:29

That's really rotten Westkazza and doesn't really make logical sense! He has told you that Clomid won't work, but that you have to take it for 5 months more! Ridiculous! Can you speak to your FC about this instead of GP? Good luck x

Lisylou all that sickness sounds pretty extreme! When can you do an early test?

Stac you're sounding chirpy. Fingers crossed that you ov this month. Are you using cough medicine? Have they upped your dose?

Clure I'm wishing so hard that your AF will eventually come. If it doesn't will you take the Clomid without it like Stac nearly did?

Clairebear Sgibbo and Fruitbowl I think sex definitely gets a little dull when you are TTC. I find Preseed helps as you can make it quick and easy! DH and I have also been winding each other up and telling each other rude stuff so there was a good build up and that helped too.

Well I thought that a clomid free month would mean that I didn't get depressed, but I have been feeling blue today and playing MC through my head a lot Must pull myself together!! Am not liking myself too much and feeling podgy too. Will try to go for mini run when DD is in bed to cheer me up.

stac14 · 19/04/2009 18:36

Hi fruitbowl The cough medicine you can use can be bought from boots and its called robitussin - I found this online regarding it also remember grapefruit juice helps too
Dosage 1500-3000mg a day...you can buy them in different size capsules-poundland sell them 500mg which means you take 6 a day-but it would be easier to take 2 capsules each meal time but depending where you get them from you can buy them in 1000mg+1500mg capsules from boots etc

With The robitussin you have to be careful which one you take-if you take the wrong one it will DRY up CM...and you dont want that!!
The one you need is

www.boots.com/shop/product_enlarge.jsp?productid=1046557&classificationid=1052010&slmRe fer=000&imageid=1

Its VERY important that you buy the red bottle as its the only one that will do the job right, its the only one ive found with 100% Guaiphenesin...ive copied the link from Boots as everyone has a boots store!!! AND the bonus is...at the moment they have 20% off...so get ya butts down there and stock up, you will prob need 2-3 bottles per cycle
You follow the recommended dose on the bottle...you can take it for a week before ovulation, until the day of ovulation and then stop!!

How are the rest of you ladies? I started clomid last night and felt really nervous, I suppose its because its not worked at all yet and I dont mean getting me pg just thats its not even made me ovulate.

clure any af yet? If not are you phoning your consultant about it?
xxx

Clure · 19/04/2009 18:52

stac hi, glad you started clomid, think you bound to be nervous. yes i'm going to try to phone consultant tomorrow.

Hello rest of you xx

stac14 · 19/04/2009 19:17

clure how are you feeling? x

Clure · 19/04/2009 20:11

stac I'm fine really, just wondering why no af after provera. Hopefully can get some advice tomorrow. I'm back at school tomorrow so will have to try to find a slot in the day to phone consultant!
How are you doing stac, have you had any side effects yet?

Hi mummycat how are you feeling now. Did the run help to lift your spirits a bit? It always helps me

xxx

stac14 · 19/04/2009 20:38

Hey mummycat
They have kept me on 100mg even though I didnt ov last month which is a bit of a pain but I am better doing what he says. I think I would have to have started the cough medicine already so I will drink grapefruit juice and take evening primrose oil caps till I am due to ov. Hope you can manage to get your run and feel a bit better

clure I felt really sick today but not sure if that was because I didnt sleep well, going to get an early night as I have an assessment to start tomorrow and some paperwork to ferry around. It must be a nightmare trying to work things round classes, some of the clinics stay open a bit later. Let me know how you get on and apparantly it can take up to 14 days after provera (if your unlucky like us)

westkazza I agree with everyone else you should ask for a second opinion it seems like such a hassle for you to stay on clomid for 5 months if they have other plans to help you

Clairebear Sgibbo and Fruitbowl it is hard trying to keep bding fun for DP and I we try not to stick to bedtime even if its a quickie you still manage to get the stuff you need (tmi lol) and as mummycat says try some rude texts, notes or calls it lightens the mood a bit so to speak

xxxx

fruitbowl · 19/04/2009 21:11

Hi all. Thanks everyone for the tips - esp Stac - wow! I appreciate it.

Big day tomorrow as DD starts school!

Meanwhile I have a college essay to be avoiding erm doing x

Clure · 19/04/2009 22:14

stac thanks for that, knowing that it can take up to 14 days gives me a bit of extra time. hope you get a good nights sleep - amazing how much better you can feel after one!

fruitbowl oh wow to DD starting school, thats a biggie. My DD starts school in september and I'm dredding it

westkazza agree with getting another opinion. Sounds like you having a rough time.

xx

stac14 · 19/04/2009 22:24

Hey fruitbowl big day tomorrow, my ds is back to school tomorrow after the hols I will be glad of the peace he wont lol. I've got an essay due too, just hope I can remember what I am doing

Hey clure I'm sure everything will be fine and you will have af if not your consultant may tell you to go ahead with the clomid like mine did.

Well I am signing off for the evening ladies, cramps getting the better of me.

stac14 · 20/04/2009 09:47

Hey millymolly
I got hot flushes with provera but think stomach pains are common as your body is preparing for AF. I took 12 days to come on after it but most people are less. I'm fine thanks on CD4 3rd day of clomid but feeling ok. How are you other than hot flushes and sore stomachs? xxx

Lisylou1980 · 20/04/2009 10:17

Hi all
Well def cant get results till tomorrow as my gynys secretart isnt in the office until tomorrow afternoon
Mummycat i'm on cd 24 and my cycles are anything between 27 and 35 days so not sure when i can do an early test. I think i've got it into my head that i'm never going to get pg now i know its negative thinking but thats just how i'm feeling.
Hows everyone else doing
xx

stac14 · 20/04/2009 11:01

Hey lisylou
You sound like your down at the mo, this ttc is a nightmare but the end result will be worth it, just try to stay positve. Let us know how your results go. It seems like ages away for my bloods lol hope you feel better chick (the clomid makes me feel quite down so maybe its a mixture of that and the stress of ttc)xxx

Hi all. Had my last Clomid tablet on Saturday (thought it was Sunday but realised when I got up that there were no more to take) so am just waiting for ovulation now. I Ovulate naturally anyway as far as the tests can tell, so hopefully yhis 50mg of clomid will give me some kind of help.

My side effects were pretty much non -existant, am guessing that is normal on 50 mg?

My OH kept asking me when the pills end as I was actually a bit hyper towards the end.

should I expect symptoms in the next week?

Alfiemax · 20/04/2009 18:17

Hiya Ladies,

Hope everyone is ok.

Just a quick update for now. By some miracle I am CD25 today and no AF as of yet, but the day still has some time. Only 12DPO though but normally have a short luteal phase anyway. I'm not getting my hopes up, but glad mother nature has given me a reasonable break from bleeding this month. Have also resisted the urge to test until officially late, which is good for me.

I'll be back to update soon.

Love to all. BabyDust To Everyone ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ *

islegrin · 20/04/2009 18:42

stac it's so great to see you at CD4, now we just have to get clure and millymolly on the top of the list again. C'mon AF!!! Can we do a little rain dance?! Hoping for progress for you all!

Finished menopur injections last night, scan tomorrow! Fingers crossed for big, juicy follies on the RIGHT side. Guess we'll be going for IUI #3 on Thurs or Friday if things work out. DH asked me last night, when he gets to "do his thing"! ha ha, I love that man!

Westkazza · 20/04/2009 19:14

Hi All. I have updated the list with my CD. Thanks for all the advice about second ops etc. Not sure what to do to be honest.certainly gonna use this time to get fit and healthy though. I think I'm ok DH isn't so great. Oh well onwards and upwards.

Hi islegrin
Think I was about to do an AF dance last week, was sure I would have to take clomid without it. How are you?

clure Did you speak to your consultant?

Westkazza I'm trying the healthy eating, more exercise too as I think it will help me ttc. Are you going for a second op?

Alfiemax Sounds promising that you are on CD25, did you take the clomid this month? What dosage?

Beanieb You might get cramps and hot flushes again I'm sure you will be fine though fingers crossed for you

How is everyone else? XXX

MamaMaiasaura · 20/04/2009 22:01

Fruitbowl - how was dd's first day at school? Bet she was tired out

Stac - Glad you got your AF and that you were able to start the clomid with peace of mind

Clure - hang in there it might just take a while to arrive.

CD29 here. Dont think it has worked again given the scans i had. Still been bding regularly in the hope we may catch a late egg. Not yet heard back from FC but have appointment on 7th May. Going away at weekend so will call her when back if not AF for provera so at least get ball rolling for next plan of action. Ds1 back at school today.
