Katlonka WOW CONGRATULATIONS, it's nice to see the graduate list getting longer and the TTC getting smaller

Lisylou1980 · 27/04/2009 13:46

I know what you mean mummycat, I dont know how i'm feeling at the mo, feels different to usual but dont know if i'm just getting my hopes up!!! i think its worse being on clomid as you are in a routine and no whats coming and when. I just wish more of us would be on that graduate list but at least it is growing!!! Sorry to hear your AF is on the way too
xx

stac14 · 27/04/2009 14:27

This is the info I found regarding Robitussin

With the EPO you take it from AF to Ov.....dont take it after you get positive OPK
Dosage 1500-3000mg a day...you can buy them in different size capsules-poundland sell them 500mg which means you take 6 a day-but it would be easier to take 2 capsules each meal time but depending where you get them from you can buy them in 1000mg+1500mg capsules from boots etc

With The robitussin you have to be careful which one you take-if you take the wrong one it will DRY up CM...and you dont want that!!
The one you need is

www.boots.com/shop/product_enlarge.jsp?productid=1046557&classificationid=1052010&slmRe fer=000&imageid=1

Its VERY important that you buy the red bottle as its the only one that will do the job right, its the only one ive found with 100% Guaiphenesin

Hope this is what your looking for mummycat this month I have been taking evening primrose oil caps, one per day since cd 1, I will stop them in the next couple of days as you shouldnt take them after positive opk xx

tetleytea · 27/04/2009 14:39

CONGRATULATIONS Katlonka! What great news!

Best wishes for the next 9 months and beyond

Westkazza · 27/04/2009 20:23

Congrats Katlonka. Brill news.

I fainted at work today!! very embarassing but I think it was just down to hormones drugs, stress etc.

The problem is I had to tell the paramedics about the situation and my boss was there. Have real concerns now as he is aware. I know he will be sympathetic but I worry that I will be treated differently. ANybody else had this issuse? all advice would be greatly recived.

xx

Lisylou1980 · 27/04/2009 20:40

Oh god hope your feeling better now westkazza. I havent told my boss anything about ttc i had hell for months after having 8 weeks off on the sick after a messed up endometriosis op i aint gonna be telling her nothing if i can help it!!!
stil not feeling much different. Still gonna be good thou and wait til weds/thurs to do a test if af doesnt appear xx

BlueMoomin · 27/04/2009 20:51

Hi everyone ... would you mind if I joined you?

We are ttc #2 and have been for almost 2 years ... this is cycle 18 of actively trying and cycle 4 of 50mg clomid. I'm finding things a bit tough at the mo if I'm honest.

All tests appear normal and the clomid has been prescribed for unexplined secondary infertility.

AF seems to have disappeared to almost nothing whilst on the clomid ... has anyone else had this and should I be worried? I seem to have gone down from 5 days bleed to 2 days if I'm lucky!

Hope there are lots of Clomid BFPs from here soon...

mummycat1 · 27/04/2009 21:40

Thanks Stac will be off to boots tomorrow morning. Let me know how the evening primrose oil works. Have you try the Robittusiythingy before?

Hello Bluemoomin we all understand how low TTC makes you feel. This is also my 18th month of trying after a horrid MC. My AF is also reduced by the Clomid - that is probably the best side effect it has! Chin up and enjoy the chat on here. What CD are you?

WestKazza have you ever fainted before? That sounds pretty dramatic. I had to tell my boss when I was going for the lap. Didn't say what it was for but guess it was pretty obvious especially after my traumatic MC. Everyone at work knew about that as I had to have quite a few weeks off and I didn't want them to think I was skiving and I wanted them to know that I was fragile. Now I just keep my mouth shut. I think that people forget quite quickly. It isn't as big a deal for you as it is for them. You are thinking about it pretty much 24/7 - they aren't

stac14 · 27/04/2009 22:28

Hey Westkazza are you ok? I don't really talk to anyone about the ttc except you guys and DP to be honest I am too scared of people treating me differently or constantly going on cos I haven't fell pregnant yet. If boss seems to change I would suggest chatting to him to explain everything is ok from your end.

mummycat I haven't tried the cough mixture yet but if the evening primrose oil doesnt work I will add it in next month

Welcome to the thread bluemoomin I agree with the others ttc is stressfull but you have come to the right place to vent, chat or get advice

xxxx

islegrin · 28/04/2009 00:03

katlokna congrats again!! I love hearing good news, it gives me hope that it might happen for me.

westkazza how awful for you - I know you didn't mean for your boss to find out that way. Don't overthink it too much, ttc is part of LIFE, and even though you work for them, you aren't supposed to give up your life. I hope you feel more comfortable, or even chat a bit with your boss to clear the air.

I was so hoping to see our dear Clure had finally started CD1 ... what's the news? I'm sure your legs must be getting tired of that rain dance by now! Will your doc let you start clomid again without AF? (you know, some times threats do work with that witch!)

I'm in the tww - total limbo, or maybe suspended animation is a better way to put it. Actually I'm keeping my expectations low to nil, that way I don't get my hopes crushed. (I know it sounds bad, but it's not really bad, so don't worry about me. ) I'm fine. I'm just looking ahead to when I can start my next cycle, in about 10 days. Protocol will change yet again, thinking of replacing the menopur with gonal-f this time in addition to the clomid or letrozole.

sgibbo is your DH back from fishing trip tonight for a bit of romantic fun?!! I hope so. My Dh has a terrible cold, and asked for mercy last night, I relented, but only for a day or so.

I've been feeling a lot of twinges, almost feels as if ovulating once a day from each side over the past 3-4 days - I know that's not what it is... but it does have me a bit distracted.

Love and babydust to all!!! We need a few more graduates ladies, we've all been studying hard, for too long!

mummycat1 · 28/04/2009 08:28

Hello All, AF came in the night so I'm CD1 again and will start round 5 of Clomid tomorrow. I expect I will have a scan on CD14 this time as CD13 (when I usually have it) will be a Sunday this time. I'm relieved that I won't have to go a a Fri or get bloods done then either as I work on Thurs and Fri and I am not very good at fielding the why were you late this morning and are you ok? questions! Feel fed up as usual. Very down on myself. But, I did ovulate on my own on a Clomid free month and the OPKs detected that exactly. So I should take heart from that I know.

Islegrin I get the little twinges in my ovaries on Clomid fairly constantly from just before OV till AF. It does make you wonder what's going on in there. I wish I could have low to nil hope, but I always think that it is going to work! Just wish I could get away from my body whilst on 2WW! lol

Clure how are you doing? Thinking of you

AttilaTheMeerkat · 28/04/2009 09:26

Hi BlueMoomin,

Welcome to this thread. Am very sorry to read of your situation. Secondary subfertility can be very hard as well to deal with.

Would ask what tests have been done on both of you during the last six months as any result beyond that time period should be discounted.

I can give you a list of tests which can be missed - do you honestly feel you've been adequately investigated as a couple?. Sometimes a couple can be given an "unexplained subfertility" diagnosis simply because not enough tests have been done. "Unexplained" is no real diagnosis either - it means that they have failed to find out what is wrong.

Clomid as you are no doubt aware is often prescribed to women with ovulation problems - do they suspect polycystic ovaries for instance?.

When do you next see the gynae?.

mummycat1 · 28/04/2009 12:42

Hello - just taken my first two teaspoons full of Robitussin. Am going to take two teaspoons three times a day - got the red one - thanks Stac. It tastes surprisingly nice. Did some googling and it is the one that bored housewives get addicted to! Lots of threads came up on google asking how much it takes to get you high!!

Will keep you posted - anyone with any anecdotes please share xx

Lisylou1980 · 28/04/2009 13:37

Hi all
Well still waiting no signs of AF!!! Getting inpatient want to do test but at same time i dont!!! What shall i do ? x

stac14 · 28/04/2009 14:39

Hey mummycat I saw them too, just as well we can only take it for a certain amount of time each month lol

Just a quick question, do you all get kind of down around a week or so after the clomid? I have felt crap for the past couple of days just wondering if its just me. Well it's DS 10th birthday tomorrow and I feel quite old, its scary also makes me think is the gap 2 big but theres 10 years between me and my sis and DP and his sis so I'm sure it will be fine

Hey lisylou When did you last test? I may have asked you this already but my dementia is kicking in lol

Has anyone heard from clure? She doesnt seem to have been on, hope your ok if you see this message xxx

sgibbo · 28/04/2009 16:36

islegrin DH was back on Saturday - almost perfect timing for OV! The best part was he didn't know what CD it was so BD for FUN!!!! Forgot what that was like!!!

Have you found anyways to keep yourself occupied during the TWW?

westkazza I had to tell my boss a while ago and i was quiet suprised when he was very supportive (his sister had been through something similar) I would have a chat with him i'm sure everything will be Ok

islegrin · 28/04/2009 17:53

sgibbo - yay for fun sex! I'll have my fingers crossed for you! That would be so funny if on your month off of clomid, you actually became pg, I hear it happens!!!

mummycat - thanks for the note on the twinges. I'll just blame it on the drugs and try not to worry about it. (ectopic fears tend to crop up every once in a while)

LOL at bored housewives on cough medicine...

Lisylou1980 · 28/04/2009 18:16

hi stac done one last thursd which was cd 27 now on cd 32. Afs so far on clomid have been 28 days, 35 days and last one was 32 days!! its driving me mad.

fruitbowl · 28/04/2009 21:51

Hi all

Yeah!!! CONGRATULATIONS Katlonka! How exciting!

Hi Tetley (waves from over 40s thread)

WestK - wow. Hope you're OK now, must have been a bit scarey.

Hi BlueM - it's so tough this lark isn't it? I noticed my AF was v light (made me paranoid that there was not enough lining for implantation as I've had a few CP's in the past) but the scan showed quite a healthy lining last month and still the AF was light so gawd knows what the light flow is about? It's not just you though!

MummyC Really sorry AF got you. It's balls isn't it? I think I'm up to about 2 years now - doesn't it take it out of you? So do you get scanned every month then? Funny about getting high on the cough med!

I've started the cough med and grapefruit juice but can't see any EWCM - I only took 2 doses though. Maybe not enough. What's Eve prim meant to do?

Soz my CD was a day out so re-doing:

hi all,

sorry I'm still here. Had a busy few days, DH was away and I was trying to get bathroom painted and deal with a gas leak in the kitchen. On top of that still trying to contact consultant. Having not luck and feeling extremely annoyed that he/his secretary hasn't got back despite leaving numerous emails and phone messages.
Anyway will try again tomorrow and failing that will get an appointment to see GP.
As you've gathered still no AF for me

I was just reading your posts and feel touched that lots of you (stac, mummycat, islegrin [smile} ) were thinking of me. Thanks guys.

Congratulations Katlonka thats fab news.

mummycat stac sorry you both feeling bit down

One bit of good news we heard today that we have a place in our first choice of primany school for our gorgeous DD who starts in September. Oh my god, I can't believe it, I so don't want her to go, will miss her. But I reckon she'll love it!!

Loads of babydust to you all xxxxxxx

Lisylou1980 · 29/04/2009 00:12

Hi Clure, sorry hear no AF and no luck with consultant. Good ews aout your DD thou, i was like that last year with my daughter i was so pleased she got into the school i wanted her too especially as its not the closest one to us. They look so grown up in there uniform its quite emotional so tissues Well end of cd32 and still no signs of AF i hope and hope its good news. Still gonna wait til friday for testing.
babydust all and hope everyone else ok xx

amelied · 29/04/2009 10:16

Congrats Katlonka.

Sorry been missing in action. Have caught up with the thread now.

I was laughing at the cough medicine comments. I went to Boots and asked for two bottles of Robitussin. The assistant then asked why I want two and I had to make up a feeble excuse on the spot. She said she would have to ask if she could sell me two! Then I had a lecture from the pharmasist about the misuse of medication . I now buy them from seperate chemists in a furtive manner. Maybe should be using comedy false nose and 'tache ...

Off to the hospital this afternoon for my six monthly chat with fertility consultant, to find out what the hell to do with me. On round #3 of Clomid and have a further 3 months perscribed. Also havent had my AMH test results back - have this bad feeling that they are keeping them to break the bad news to me today.

Fingers crossed for me girls...

mummycat1 · 29/04/2009 11:35

Lisy hang on in there till Cd36 I think and good luck.

stac yes to the feeling down and no 10 years isn't too big a gap. It will be nice that you can be at home with baby whilst he is at school. They will love each other anyway just because they are siblings.

sgibbo I did a list on the last thread for what to do to keep you busy on the 2ww. See if you can find it - or start another list and we'll all add stuff to it.

Fruitbowl I do get scanned evry month and they have been giving me an ovitrelle shot to release the eggs as the follicles were really mature but hadn't released yet for the last 4 months. Eve Primrose is also for EWCM as is green tea. You have to have loads of robitussin and green tea and grapefruit juice if you want to get EWCM - I haven't noticed much difference from grapefruit juice and green tea so am trying the robitussin, but failing this I have some preseed at the ready!

Clure Yes you will definitely need plenty of tissues when DD starts school, but it soon passes. Keep talking to us xx

amelied I was surprised that the lady in Boots sold me two bottles no questions asked. I may also go to another chemist though if I run out! What is your opinion of Robitussin? Does it work for you? Sorry to be ignorant but what is an AMH test? Will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Well, I have a delightful AF headache! So feeling pretty naff, but still working hard as coursework marks have to be sent off tomorrow and I am being observed on Friday!

At the weekend, when I had PMT, I attacked the kitchen and threw out half of the cupboards so that we can now all have dinner round a table instead of in front of the TV. I feel so much happier for that!

Have decided to join a local organic gardening group to keep me busy. Just itching to get out there and DD loves it too so I guess that's what we'll be doing this afternoon as well as making some scrummy chocolate cake bars - my little AF treat

stac14 · 29/04/2009 11:41

Hi clure
Really sorry you havent got AF yet, hope you get hold of consultant soon

amelied that made me laugh about have to wear a false beard and tache to get cough medicine, maybe they are worried there are thousands of addicted housewives out there, let us know how you get on today

fruitbowl The evening primrose oil is also supposed to make a difference with cm, with all of these things it says the usual about needing a while to kick in

lisylou how are you feeling? fingers crossed your the next graduate

Hope everyone else is well!!! XXX
