yerr i have herd of it summerbird but it isn't really somthing i can use. as DP doesn't like lube.

makingafamily · 14/04/2009 15:34

I've got a size 10mm follie!

heverhoney1 · 14/04/2009 15:50

Yeah for MAF!!!!!

heverhoney1 · 14/04/2009 15:57

Kay can I ask a bit of a rude question hon? do you have anything to distract you from TTC for a little bit. As all of us on here know it can be all consuming! TTC occupies every part of your brain for almost the whole time. The stress of TTC alone can mess your body up (Believe me I know!). Do you go to college or something? a little bit of a distraction could be good for you and it could help! also courses are also pretty adaptable for pregnant women.

makingafamily · 14/04/2009 16:04

Kay i think what Hever's said is really true. Its so hard to not let TTC take over your life

Kay4MattTTC · 14/04/2009 16:12

hey hever no i dont relly. but me and DP are doing are best to make TTC fun instead of stressfull. i do go to college, i study beauty therapy.

heverhoney1 · 14/04/2009 16:19

Cool - make sure you show DP just what spots to hit when you need a pregnancy rub down!!!

DawnAS · 14/04/2009 19:54

Evening all,

MAF, that's brilliant news hun - what's next on the agenda?

Hever, hello honey, how are you doing? Not long to go now!!

Summer, how's the summerbean today? Jelly is getting more active every day. Actually quite painful at times TBH but it's worth it!!

Kay, take the girls' advice hun, although I know it's easier said than done. Good on you for making it fun though!!

Big waves and babydust to everyone else!!

If any of the newbies want any pre-seed (mentioned earlier by Summer), I have some which I will happily send to you, so just let me know.

TakeLovingChances · 14/04/2009 21:00

Hi! I'm a total newbie, please be gentle on me.

Me and DH are TTC 1st baby. I came off the pill (logynon) at end of March. All I can think about is having a baby, I'm becoming a total baby bore and I'm not even preg yet!!!

Thanks summerbird for mentioning that lube, I'd never even thought that the type of lube one uses could influence conception

I'm watching what I eat carefully now, in preparation for getting preg, just hope it doesn't take too long. DH and I are both quite young (I'm 24, he's 29), both healthy and fit. But I know there are many other influencing factors involved.

Will keep you all updated

crunchynutter · 14/04/2009 21:14

Hi! Yep Dawn unfortunately i've been anaemic for years (which is why its the first thing that came into my head to be honest!) I'm not very good either as i tend to leave going for the blood tests until the anaemia is debilitating and i fear i was anaemic when i conceived anyway- I always wait until half terms for the tests you see as my doctors are so crap and i dont like to miss work i'm still not registered yet though. I went in again today to check- they're going to be really fed up with me! I just really want to get booked in for a scan. I am convinced the Feb bleed was implantation and have had several people looking at me and saying i look much further than 6 weeks- i think i am more 8-10 if i'm right about implantation so i really want to get in for a scan and make sure everything is okay. I've even had to buy support maternity bras today as non of mine fit me anymore .

Anyway, I am in work tomorrow doing a revision class with yr 11's- i'm trying to make it as fun but informative as possible (quiz's, drama mixed in with essay questions and marking criteria!) but they're the foundation kids and are bloody hard work and i just don't know how i'm going to hack the 4 long hours with them! I will be takaing my gingernut biscuits and lots of lemon and lime water!!

DawnAS · 15/04/2009 15:32

Hey all,

Crunchy, sorry about the anaemia hun, but they will manage it for you during your PG and make sure that you're well looked after so try not to worry. I hope that your day to day hasn't been too bad and you managed to control your MS!!

Welcome TakeLovingChances and what a lovely name you've chosen!! You've joined a lovely friendly thread that's been going for nearly a year now. I started the original one in June last year I believe. We're expecting our first thread baby from Flirty, although we haven't heard from her for a while. Next is Hever, followed by Summerbird and then a week later myself, I'm currently 32 weeks! We've had lots more BFPs on the thread in the last few weeks so there's definitely lots of good luck on here. Hope you find the support that you need on here hun!!

Vix, how did the test go hun? Have you got some good news for us? If not, how did it go at the docs? xx

This time last year, DH and I were on our flight to Riviera Maya in Mexico on our honeymoon. DH's BF worked for First Choice and managed to get on our flight so, even though he couldn't upgrade us, we got free bottles of champagne, free snacks, free upgrade of all the movies etc and the food from First Class, all the way!! The Pilot even made an announcement congratulating us on our wedding. On arrival in Mexico we were driven to our 5* All Inclusive Adults Only resort. It was soooo gorgeous...

Oh well, at least we have Butlins to look forward to for the next few years!!

Hope everyone is well. Off for Jelly's 32 week scan tomorrow and hoping that I've managed my GD well enough to reduce the chances of having to be induced in 6 weeks time. Off out tonight so this will be my last post for the day!! Catch up tomorrow, hopefully with a 32 week pic of our little girl!!

xxx

Vix67 · 15/04/2009 19:27

Hi all,

Crunchy hope your revision class went ok today??

Dawn aawww i am so jealous of your mexico holiday, sounds fab!! But im sure this year will be even better with you rlittle jelly bean due to arrive soon!! Good luck for the scan tomorrow hun xx

Well i did my test this morning and unfortunately was a BFN but had sort of got my head round it so no tears!!

My hosp appointment went well this afternoon, he done an antral follicle count of my ovaries, as my FSH was high he was concerned that I didnt have as many eggs as I should have. But he was happy with the outcome and he also ruled out PCOS. Which is good!! Only thing was a cyst on my ovary from the clomid so wont be able to do IUI next month , will have to wait until June.

But I am feeling positive today because September should hopefully come round quickly for my IVF and doctor has told me to be optimistic about the IVF as he said I have a god chance of it working first time!! Aaah i am so scared though cos i darent get excited incase i am letting myself in for a biiiigggg fall!!

Anyway hope all you ladies r having a nice night

speak soon xxxx

Vix67 · 15/04/2009 19:29

oops meant good chance not god chance ha ha xx

NewMember · 15/04/2009 19:42

Hi All,

I have just found this website, loving it already

I have been trying to conceive since Christmas time, my poor partner starting to run away from me!

Fingers crossed it will happen soon tho!

BubbaP · 15/04/2009 19:48

Hi girls!

Just a quick update from me as it's been a loooong day...

Been for my NHS scan today and all is fine with our little bean! They took all the measurements and confirmed the due date as 19th Oct.

But it was not a good hospital experience.... was there for almost 3 hours and the scan itself (the most important part) only lasted about 5 minutes. It felt totally rushed.

But the most important thing is that our bean is OK! We are so thrilled. So we'll be going public with our news now!

Hello to our newbies, TTCers and those with beans... big waves to you all!

*

crunchynutter · 16/04/2009 13:42

Aww BubbaP! Congratulations! I am very excited about a scan but am still waiting on the doctors- am starting to get a little annoyed now! might it be worth looking into another hospital? I do not want to got to the same hospital as my sister has her DC in due to bad experiences- you don't want to feel like this after the birth so you may as well find somewhere you like!

Vix September is not all that far away either so stay optimistic! eat well and enjoy everything you can now. I don't think the doctor would say there is a good chance though if he didn't believe it

DawnAS · 16/04/2009 17:00

Hi All,

Bubbap, that's brilliant news hun - you must be so relieved!! Soooo hearing you on the hospital situation!! We were there for 3 hours today too and were being seen for a total of 20 minutes AND my appointment was 9am!!!

Vix, totally second Crunchy... Make the most of eating whatever you want now - it's amazing how much you miss all the stuff you can't have, even when being PG is something that you desperately want!!

Sooooo, had the 32 week scan today at the hospital. Little Jelly is already 4lb 7oz at 32 weeks so at full-term she'll hopefully be between 8-9lbs, although of course all this is only an estimate. Her legs have put on a growth spurt in the last 4 weeks so they're now bang on average again, along with her head circumference. Her tummy is still slightly above average but not as much as her 28 week scan so the insulin is obviously working. She is no longer breech though so it looks like I won't get the C-Section after all.

A bit gutted really as it means that they will most likely induce me at 39-40 weeks (assuming that Jelly's size stays within average limits as she is at the moment), but they have confirmed that I will be unable to move around during the labour as I will have to stay on the insulin drip and have a heart monitor on Jelly permanently. So it's going to be a really crap labour. So when I get to 38 weeks, DH and I are going to try everything to bring her on ourselves so that I don't have to be induced...

If they do have to induce, the pain can be incredible right from the off, but it'll be too early for an epidural so I will have to resort to Gas and Air to start with - gutted about that too as didn't want that, until I can have an epidural. All crap crap crap, but I know I won't mind when I hold Jelly for the first time...

Got a scan pic of her sucking her thumb - bless her!! And she's got LOADS of hair! The Sonographer pointed it out....

Anyway, how are all the TTCers and the PG ladies feeling today?!

ME
xx

DawnAS · 16/04/2009 17:01

Newmember, sorry I missed you out hun - I didn't scroll down the page far enough!!

Welcome to one of the friendliest threads on MN!!!

So what stage are you at in your cycle at the moment?

xxx

NewMember · 16/04/2009 17:19

Hi DawnAS

Congratulations on your pregnancy

My partner and I have been trying to conceive since Christmas. I have recently bought the clearblue fertility monitor, this is my 1st cycle using it. The monitor gave me 2 high days and also 2 peak days - so i am praying this will be the lucky month.

I am now on day 14, my cycle normally lasts 28-29 days! So its now the 'two week wait' for us!

DawnAS · 16/04/2009 17:26

Oooh Newmember, how exciting!!

I was very very lucky (considering that I'm 34) as we conceived the first month of trying, but it was before I knew what I know now about temping, CM etc etc. Unfortunately we lost that little one at just 5 weeks, but 6 weeks later was PG again with this one. Now 32 weeks! That month I did OV Sticks and Temping. Only BDd three times that month aswell (poor DH...).

I know how lucky we were though, obviously DH had very good swimmers!!

We have all had loads of experience in temping and knicker-checking so if you've got any questions just go ahead and ask, although sounds like you're pretty clued up already. This is a very lucky thread aswell so sending loads of baby-dust your way!!

NewMember · 16/04/2009 17:29

Will keep you poseted

xx

DawnAS · 17/04/2009 14:31

Hi Newmember,

It's been a bit quiet on here for the last couple of days - but I'm sure it'll pick up come this evening!!

Yes, it's quite scary how quickly this PG has gone to be honest!! It hasn't been without it's difficulties though... We lost the first baby early, which was devestating. Then with this one we had a high-risk result for Downs following the nuchal scan and blood test at 12 weeks. We were devestated and very scared... So we opted for a CVS which can be done at 14 weeks but unfortunately they didn't get enough of the placenta during the procedure so we then had to wait another 4 weeks for an Amnio. The wait was horrendous!! But the hospital called us on New Years Eve to tell us that we'd got the all clear - I've never felt relief like it. They also told us that we were having a girl - it was just amazing - I was convinced it was a boy and would have been happy with either, but secretly had a preference for a girl...

After all that, we got through the 20 week scan where it showed that everything was where it should be. Then at 28 weeks I had to have a Glucose Tolerance Test which showed that I have gestational diabetes. So now I'm having to inject insulin into my legs four times a day aswell as testing my blood four times a day aswell.

So it's not been plain-sailing by any means. When I go into labour I have to be on an insulin drip and heart monitor the whole time so will be flat on my back and imobile - not too chuffed with that either... I'm sure all this is testing us because we were lucky enough to conceive so quickly...

So, be careful what you wish for!!

Anyway, I've waffled on for far too long. How's your week been?

xxx

heverhoney1 · 17/04/2009 14:47

Hey everyone. Dawn I keep meaning to ask - Are you SURE they wond give you an epi straight away. I know you normally have to be 4cm because that is the point of no return. But if they are inducing, I am sure, some people on here have said they prefer to hook you up straight away if thats what you want.

To everyone I know you are the "The woman who has been through EVERYTHING in her pregnancy" I am in awe of the strength you have shown throughout and any little thing I have been through is always well and truely put into perspective when I think of you! I really am VERY lucky.

makingafamily · 17/04/2009 15:29

Hi Ladies

Really Quick update! Will be back later to catch up on everyones news

Just got back from our 2nd scan on our first cycle of IUI (natural). Had first scan on CD 10 and had 3 follies with the biggest at 10mm and womb lining was 4.8mm went back today at CD 14 and was told i had "multiple" follicles with none of them above 10 mm and womb lining was 5.8mm. I was told previously that i have PCO not not PCOS, was told my FSH and LH were "ok". He wanted me to go back on Wednesday for a scan but has agreed for me to go back on Monday.

I came out in tears as i really thought i'd have a 17/18 mm follie and could have the trigger shot and iui tomorrow. I'm feeling calmer now
