Claire, I am thinking positive thoughts for you, it would be so lovely if you had good news soon!

I wish it was a bank holiday here (Oz is rubbish for days off!!). All the decorating/ going away/ chilling out sounds so lovely.

Thanks for the advice IM, I read the same about pre-seed basically just being 'not as bad' at killing sperm, rather than actively helping. Have decided to leave it for this month and think about trying next month if no luck. I am pleased to report that there is EWCM this morning (how is that?! Before all this TTC that thought would never have even entered my head!). I was starting think there would be none this month, so am relieved. However, like Sky, I am starting to think that maybe I have a LPD too. Cycles of 25 days the past 2 times, and if I am not ovulating until day 15 or so, that makes LP less than 10 days. Hmmmm. Should have more of an idea with the temping I've started this month.

Sky, how are you feeling about what the doctor said? I'm wondering whether it's due to coming off the pill, or if I've always had a short luteal phase.

Ozziegirly · 29/08/2009 02:50

sky really sorry to hear that AF caught you. Let us know how you get on at the Drs. I also have heard that Agnus Castus (also known as Vitex) can assist with lengthening your cycle - it makes the body more receptive to the hormones I think. I'm taking it because apparently it can also help if you've been on the pill for years, like I have, as your bosy is out of the habit of making or responding to the right hormones.

I"ll let you know if the Evening Primrose Oil makes any difference - I don't seem to have very much CM at all, let alone EWCM so I thought that's something I can concentrate on improving!

Mind you, I went out for a drink with a girl from work last night who has been through years of IVF and has had an early menopause so it kind of puts things into perspective when I"ve only been trying for 3 months.

claire good luck this weekend, am sending wishes and hopes in your direction!

Ozziegirly · 29/08/2009 02:51

THat's "body", not "bosy"!

mumandlovingit · 29/08/2009 07:32

i still havent got my af and its now day 36.preg tests are negative though and we havent started trying yet so im not pregnant.going mental waiting for it.

does anyone know if im likely to ovulate if for some reason my body has missed the period this month? or am i going to have to wait until ive had a period to actually start trying and being able to conceive?

stressed and stressed

good luck to everyone else who is trying

CurlyCasper · 29/08/2009 07:45

mum sorry to hear you are stressing. I waited for periods so I could get to know cycle length etc. But to be honest my signs are so bad I don't know if/when I'm ovulating. So we're just going at it anyway!
You don't need to wait for period to start trying - cause you never know what's happening in there! Enjoy the sex and you might just get a surprise.

Are you just off the pill? (sorry, should just read back on the thread, but have started typing now). My first AF after pill came at day 34, and my next at day 29/30.
Don't think you'll have "missed" a period - probably just a long cycle this time. I take it you want to start perfectly-timed trying on your next cycle?

mumandlovingit · 29/08/2009 09:11

thank you curlycasper no, havent been on the pill for years.i cant have the combined pill as my mum had a dvt and i get migraines.im too much of a risk of strokes.i dont get on well on progesterone only and they inserted a copper coil november.i bled constantly on it till i basically forced them to remove it in April and have used condoms since.it was too low apparently and thats why i bled all the time. ive been regular 27/28 days since then though, may june and july and have now suddenly gone weird.no accidents with condoms so vry very unlikely im pregnant.

i think we will just have to try and see and when the peiod comes it comes. it will make it awkward working out dates though but as long as i know when we started having unprotected sex it shouldnt be too hard i suppose.we didnt start until my period was due.

ideally we want to know which days are my most fertile roughly to give us the best chance.wait and see i suppose.not doing temps or ov sticks or anything.dont know alot about them.good luck with your trying

CurlyCasper · 29/08/2009 09:44

mum they say stress can mess up your cycles, so maybe that's why you've gone from regular to a long one - because you've started preparing for trying. I hope your period comes soon, so you can push ahead with all the facts dates in front of you.

Temps and sticks seem to work really for some people, Just not me so far! Good luck

ozzie thanks for offering to share EPO and AC info - that would be really helpful.

mumandlovingit · 29/08/2009 13:14

curlycasper thanks maybe if i try to put the subject out of my head and relax for a few days it might happen. never had it before though even when had alot on with the kids, work etc.nothing i can do about it i suppose but wait.

good luck to everyone else who is trying.

claireinthecommunity · 29/08/2009 13:59

Just a quick post from me, bank holidays for us are usually very busy workwise - goes with the territory in our line of work! Hope the rest of you relax and enjoy your time off

I'm still getting AF type aches and cramping, not sure when I'm going to test but I'll try and hold out as long as possible...

Thanks so much for all the good luck and fingers crossed messages - it really does mean a lot to me

CurlyCasper · 29/08/2009 18:52

Hope it's a happy and profitable weekend claire!

Trying4Baby1 · 29/08/2009 18:53

Hiya all

Thanks claireinthecommunity for re-adding me as a graduate to the list. I was actually a bit disappointed when it was left off so quickly after my BFP after staring at the graduates lists on other pages I was posting on . But I completely understand if some people are upset when they see the list every time they post. Glad to see I'm not the only one on there now too!

Hope everyone's well! I haven't really had many symptoms so hoping everythings well but got ages to wait before I get my general medical background first midwife appointment never mind the first scan. I see there's quite a few people on there 2WW, well the waiting doesn't get any easier once you get a BFP!

claireinthecommunity you have to post when you test! I tested at CD28 so I have my fingers crossed that you get a BFP!!!

bluesnowfalcon · 29/08/2009 21:36

Hi all - been really busy today decorating the conservatory that we've just built so now trying hard to catch up!

Hope all have a good weekend x

CJ2007 · 30/08/2009 22:04

Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday weekend. Sending good luck to those testing in the next few days, it would be lovely to see some more bfp's on here!
I'm officially back to cd1 after af finally caught up with me
looking forward now to next month!
Happy bd'ing everyone!!

ImmaterialGirl · 31/08/2009 08:40

Morning all

CJ Hope you had a good evening with lots of wine and ice cream... It's hard sometimes, but it will happen for all of us!

Claire fingers crossed for you, any news?

mum sorry you're feeling stressed, hope the long weekend is helping!

trying4 good to hear from you! I'm sorry you were left off so soon, I don't think it was intentional, just a cut-and-paste error I'm sure! Do let us know how things go at your appointments. How exciting!

And hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday!

kkas · 01/09/2009 09:06

Morning guys - back to reality this morning after a nice restful, productive weekend.

claire any news?

trying glad you're still checking in. sorry you were left off and I am sure it was not intentional!

blues thanks for updating the list. any symptoms to report? are you testing anytime soon?

Nothing really here to report. Definitely in TWW now, although I'm not holding my breath too much this month.

BTW - does anyone know whether you are suppose to start counting from the first day off your pill or the first day of the withdrawal bleed in your first cycle off pill? Think I should have actually started counting from first day off pill? Which means I would actually be Day 22. Or does no one know the answer to that and that is why the doctors get so frustrated when you get pg the first cycle off your pill? Just starting to think that maybe I am further along in my cycle than I originally thought given some of the physical signs I've been seeing.

bluesnowfalcon · 01/09/2009 09:15

kkas I think if I remember right I started counting from the first day of withdrawal bleed and had a wait of 32 days!

Symptoms - been feeling a bit sicky for the last 3 days but only on and off mainly at night which is odd. Got slightly sore nips this morning too but that could be AF on the way?

pepperonipizza · 01/09/2009 09:22

Hi all,

Any news?

Kkas I'm afraid I can't help, must be pretty tricky to work out days and dates until the first period after stopping the pill.

I am getting frustrated trying to work out whether I have ovulated yet or not - the first month of temping has me confused! I think it may have only just happened (and fingers crossed, the temp shift will be seen tomorrow). That means it's a lot later than I thought, and if my cycle is 25 days again, also means my luteal phase is very, very short. Aggghhhh! I just want to know that I am definately ovulating and everything's 'working' in there! Oh, it's so annoying not being able to control it at all, I'm such an organiser in RL!

Okay, rant over. Hope you are all easing in gently after the bank holiday. Any news Claire?

claireinthecommunity · 01/09/2009 10:59

Morning all

CD2 for me I'm afraid, AF arrived yesterday evening and it is here with a vengeance! I could feel it coming on on Sunday which made me really miserable, but I'm feeling ok about it now. After all the aches and cramping that I was getting last week I'd pretty much convinced myself I must be PG, fatal mistake I know, so feeling AF's arrival really hit me for six. My own fault - shouldn't over analyze.

mum sorry you were feeling so stressed, how are you today?

Good to see you back Trying, so the waiting just continues does it?!! Looking forward to hearing all your news as and when you get any

Sorry to hear AF got you too CJ blue all the best to you for a positive outcome this cycle, unless sevans gets a big surprise you're our next hope for a BFP! (no pressure there then )

kkas, the same as blue, I too started counting from the first day of my withdrawal bleed. My first cycle lasted for 29 days the second 30 and the third 29 again, so pretty much back to normal regular cycles straight away for me. Periods have also been heavier but shorter than when I was on the pill.

pepper, I completely understand (and I'm sure the rest of us do too) your annoyance at not being able to control the TTC process, it is incredibly frustrating. I suppose all we can do is arm ourselves with as much knowledge as to what our bodies are doing as possible, whether that be through charting CM/temperatures/using OPK kits/BDing everyday/every other day and hoping for the best Having the support from everyone here has been helping me through.

I'll re update the list:

Sevans TTC#1 cycle 1 UCL? CD68
bluesnowfalcon TTC#1 cycle 2 UCL30 CD25
kkas TTC#1 cycle 1 UCL? CD20
Curlycasper TTC#1 Cycle1 UCL? CD19

Graduates:

Kaystar BFP 27Aug

bluesnowfalcon · 01/09/2009 11:15

claire I'll remember that when I'm POAS! Am trying hard not to symptom spot and trying to forget which day I'm on so I don't test early!

Wish me luck with that then lol

ImmaterialGirl · 01/09/2009 14:38

claire sorry you're starting over again -it's really hard isn't it?

Hope you managed to enjoy some of the holiday after all.

I'm currently away at a conference, but think I might be about to ov (noticed EWCM for the first time today) and am actually seriously considering going home two days early tomorrow (supposed to stay until Friday). But then I think I'm being crazy and should just stay -it's just one month after all and it's a big conference.

Hmm, not sure what to do

sevans · 01/09/2009 14:53

Yay Kaystar!!! It is great to see that we had a graduate while I was gone! Wishing everyone luck for more BFPs!!!

claireinthecommunity · 01/09/2009 15:27

Yes good luck blue

Immaterial it is hard isn't it, it completely takes you over and you find it difficult to think about much else. Is the conference important workwise - will you get an opportunity to go to another? You will get next month to TTC (not as black and white as that though is it?!!)

We were busy workwise over the holiday, good thing really, kept my mind off things. Today I'm having a curl up on the sofa day with treats and my laptop! - hubby's going out to get me a bottle of red for tonight! I'm allowing myself a few drinks when I get (and during) my period, a bit of a consolation prize

Hi sevans how are things with you?

sky27 · 01/09/2009 21:00

Evening ladies! I had a wonderful weekend away. So busy, didn't think about ttc once! It was just what I needed.

I hope everyone is well and feeling positive

Ozziegirly · 02/09/2009 00:24

claire sorry it didn't happen for you this month. Good idea re the wine!

I've started doing OPKs for the first time this month. I did my first one yesterday (CD8) and it was negative. This is good as I had this feeling that I ovulated really early. Fingers crossed it works and I learn a bit more about my body.

I've also been mainlining grapefruit juice, evening primrose oil and drinking loads of water plus a couple of green teas a day - but still no sign of the elusive EWCM.....

pepperoni have a google search for Agnus Castus - it's mentioned in lengthening the luteal phase.
