sky that's awful.
I do have a similar 'friend' who I'm very careful in what I say to as she has a tendacy to share with every one and news, good and not so good...
She's not some one I go to for tlc iykwim.
Sending you huge hugs.
Xxx

sky27 · 24/08/2009 20:30

Thanks CJ gratefully received. glad i'm not the only one!

claireinthecommunity · 24/08/2009 20:45

sky, the fact that she is broody but doesn't have a partner is her problem and shouldn't get in the way of you being broody and TTC. She sounds quite selfish and spoilt to me, do you find the relationship with her difficult in any other ways?

sky27 · 24/08/2009 20:52

Yeah, it's like having a teenager around she says stuff thats really hurtful (to everyone not just me) but doesn't realise. She's my oldest friend but sometimes I find it hard to defend her because of her attitude/behaviour

CurlyCasper · 24/08/2009 21:04

sorry she's being so shit sky. Hope you get PG soon and that she'll be happy for you x

claireinthecommunity · 24/08/2009 21:05

Oh sky I hope you get something from the relationship to make all the other things bearable. I suppose knowing that she is that way with others and not just you makes it a little easier, that she's not singling you out IYSWIM.

Have you thought about telling/explaining to her how she is making you feel?

It's not good that she's brought you to tears this evening, if she does it again come and tell us all about it and we can all have a good moan about her

sky27 · 24/08/2009 21:45

Thank you all for putting up with my moaning and being so supportive, it really, really helps. Guess i'm just super emotional tonight.

Good luck everyone Thanks for cheering me up

claireinthecommunity · 24/08/2009 21:49

Anytime sky, glad to have helped

Ozziegirly · 25/08/2009 03:00

Hello everyone - Immaterial, fulham, sorry to hear about AF this month. I am also CD1 today.

And this meant that my last cycle was only 26 days, I hope it doesn't get any shorter!

At lunch today I am going to buy an OPK and also start drinking grapefruit juice from this weekend. I just feel like we have been BD at the right time for three months now, and I wonder if I am ovulating earlier or later so need to feel like I am in a bit of control of the situation.

Curly, good luck to you and your trying.

sky your "friend" sounds like a bit of a cow actually. It's all very well wanting to have a baby yourself and even slightly resenting those who do get PG, but you can't openly wish someone not to be pregnant! That's just horrible.

mumandlovingit · 25/08/2009 06:55

morning everyone
im new to this section of mumsnet as our boys are 7 and 8 and we didnt have a computer when we were ttc them so apologies if i dont abbreviate alot and ask familiar questions.

we are now ttc from when i get my period, WHEN, that is.im always 27/28 days regular since i had my copper coil taken out April and now suddenly it's got haywire the month we want to ttc.im now on day 33.

ive done a test and its negative, id be suprised if it was positive as we've been so caredful previously.

ozziegirly-what is the grapefruit juice for? i was thinking of ovulation sticks but thought we'd try for a few months first and see what happens.family dont know we are trying and im already hiding the baby books and vitamins! i know dp's going to be walking around with a big grin on his face all the time once i get my period, with having the two boys already he wont have had that much sex in a month since before the kids! he's well prepared for the every other day during my fertile phase which could go through 2 weeks if i stay irregular just to make sure they're there ready and waiting.

good luck to everyone who's trying.hopefully we will have positive results soon.

bluesnowfalcon · 25/08/2009 07:42

Welcome mumandlovingit I'm fairly new too so it's good to see you here. Good luck with TTC and keep us up to date

Sky I'm really sorry to hear that your friend is being a cow to you that is not what you need. You need support and understanding not someone being thoughtless and mouthy. Hope she leaves soon so that you can get your life back on track. I guess that she has plus points too? My 2 best friends know we are TTC and are really supportive and understanding if AF arrives and I know they will be thrilled for us when it doesn't.

Hope you are feelin a bit better this morning and if not there is always chocolate and good thoughts from us!

Take care Sky.

pepperonipizza · 25/08/2009 08:12

Hi All,
I have been lurking on this thread for a while, but have only just jumped on the May bus. Hope it's okay to join in.

Fulham, I know exactly what you mean! We have only been TTC for 2 months and I already feel worried something's wrong! It's so silly. And Aly, as for people telling us not to stress, it is so annoying!! I know they mean well and (irritatingly!) they're right, but it doesn't help!!

Ozzie, I'm in Sydney, where are you? I used OPK last month and found them to be okay, but have been doing some reading and apparently even if you get positive on the OPK, it doesn't mean you are defintately ovulating. I have started temping this month, hopefully that will put my mind at rest a bit (I thought it might make me a bit obsessed, but actually I'm feeling much calmer and like I know what's going on a lot more because of it). Are you temping too?

Has anyone else recently stopped taking the pill? I stopped in May and it seems like each month it's getting more and more like my googling tells me it's supposed to be, in terms of cervical mucus, etc. (sorry if that's TMI for my first post here!!). Anyone else feel like that, or did you just go back to normal straight away? I've been on the pill for 14 years, I can't remember what it was like before!

bluesnowfalcon · 25/08/2009 08:27

Welcome pep

I came off the pill in July and think I'm still trying to get back to normal as first month I had a 33 day cycle.

Hope it happens for you and you get a BFP!

CurlyCasper · 25/08/2009 09:13

Morning

welcome pep. I came off the pill in June. Had a 34 day cycle, then a 29 day, now on the third. CM failed to follow a noticeable pattern, as did temps. Hopefully these will be clearer this month. Been going at it with DH anyway! - And don't worry about TMI. sometimes it's just necessary!

Sky hope you're feeling cheerier today. If not, I say we follow claire's plan and have a good bitch

ozzie thanks for the good luck - same to you

mumand we drink grapefruit juice to encourage increased CM production. It makes it easier to determine what type it is if there is more! And You need lots of the good quality stuff to help the little swimmers along. I started drinking this cycle.

Have a good Tuesday all. Any testers today?

kkas · 25/08/2009 09:24

Welcome pepperoni I took my last pill earlier this month and haven't had a proper AF yet. But I have been pretty damp in the knickers this month, so am hoping I have/will ovulate. Going to wait til after first proper AF to start temping/OPKing to keep track. Let us know how you get on with the temping.

Nice to have some Ozzies on here.... we won't mention the cricket :-P

Also - didn't we have a list some time ago? Not sure where it went... and also not sure how to update. Can anyone help?

Hi pepperoni - I'm in Adelaide (I am a Brit though so can celebrate the cricket!!). I lived in Sydney for a year though, loved it. Adelaide is a lot quieter and I'm still getting used to everyone knowing each other and trying to infiltrate groups of friends who have known each other forever

I"m similar to you - came off the pill in May after being on for 15 years. My cycles went back to being regular pretty much straight away, but I don't know if I'm ovulating as we have BD loads around the supposed fertile time and nothing has happened yet.....

I have been stupidly googling about my really light periods and lack of pregnancy and am now worrying about something being wrong -like my body has forgotten what it's supposed to be doing, but I don't know if that's right.

Everything I read links light periods with irregular periods - mine are just light but regular. I don't know if this means there is more or likely something wrong.

Sigh.

Beginning to look like I'll be moving to the end of the list soon - just don't feel like it has worked this month But then I did read that because of our age, we only had a 15% chance the first month anyway. Well, I'll know in a few more days.

Good luck everyone!

CJ2007 · 25/08/2009 20:31

Wishing every one good luck!
No news from me af hasn't got me yet but I think she's chasing did do a test but bfn...
Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone.

claireinthecommunity · 25/08/2009 21:30

Ozzie that's bad news, I really feel for you as this is also our 3rd month of trying. I'm thinking of upping my game if I get AF, I know you are already temping and I may start next month, if not PG. Not sure what to say about your light periods, mine have been heavy but fairly short, how were your periods pre pill? (if you can remember).

Welcome to pepperoni I also stopped taking the pill in May and my periods seem to have return back to normal straight away. First month was 29 days long second 30 and I'm currently on cycle day 24 of my third month of TTC. I've been following my cervical mucus each month, making notes in a diary and based on what I've read on here and by googling, my body seems to be doing what it should and when. Time will tell, my next period is due a week today...

Glad to hear you're feeling much better today sky.

Have a great time away sevans. Kaystar you mentioned your age affecting your chances of falling PG this month, how old are you?

I hope you're wrong CJ and that it was just too early to test.

For the last couple of days I've been getting very mild AF type pains and later today it turned into heavy AF type pains, I'm wondering if it could be implantation?. I also had some short sharp stabbing pains in that area last night in bed, trying not to get too carried away but can't help but think about what it could all mean!

mumandlovingit · 25/08/2009 22:07

thanks for your reply curlycasper.i keep losing the jist of the conversations as im at work most of the day and then got my two boys to spend time with and get to bed. i onlt get to come on early mornign or before i go to bed really.

i hope everything works out for you Sky your friend doesnt seem much of a friend to be honest. how long is she staying at yours?

we've only told a couple of people that we will be trying but havent exactly told them when so we dont get them asking every month about it. i dont think they would though, they're good like that.they've got alot of their own things going on so unless it comes up in conversation i dont think they'd ask.

still havent got my AF.dont know what is ggoing on.if i come on in the next few days my period will be anything between 27 and 35 ddays each month. luck dp will be getting it for around 10 days straight to make sure the fertile periods covered whenever it is that month!

does anyone know whether its best to do things every day or every other day? my friend said every other day to give it time to build the sperm up again. anyone got any views/info?

hope you're all having a good evening
xx

claireinthecommunity · 25/08/2009 22:24

Hi mumandlovingit, I'd heard about the every other day so that sperm can build up again too, that's what we're aiming for (pun not intended, but made myself giggle!)

Having a great evening, have just polished off treacle tart and custard
