Not in a rude way.

skihorse · 30/05/2009 19:46

uhuh trigger

Well everyone seems to be in fine spirits today - we've spent the day kayaking down the river and I'm burned to a crisp AND peed behind a bush - the glamour! Came back and got stuck in to the gin although have run out of tonic by 8:44pm on a bank holiday weekend. OH reminds me with have JD & coke still, thank the lord.

I also use bad dog punishment... we have a 3 year old Jackapoo who is the world's biggest face licker/snogger. As I'm always up in the morning first he has little defence - it takes about 5 seconds for her to get up two flights of stairs and approximately another 10 before I hear him grumbling. He's downstairs within 4 minutes. Bish bosh!

SkaterGrrrrl · 30/05/2009 21:12

Cava with a splash of elderflower cordial makes a good bellini too.

That's one good thing about so many of us missing the boat this month - cheers girls!

SkaterBoy and I just cooked home made lamb kebabs on the barbeque with baked spuds done in the coals and salad from our garden... washed down with lovely cider.

Welcome chegs, we are all very very good influences. Honest.

Hope your DH is having a good birthday, Sarah.

skihorse · 30/05/2009 21:16

cheggers welcome - as for living like a mormon - does your average 14 year old put the ciggies & booze to one side? No, she does not. She also lives on a diet of crunchy nut cornflakes, big-macs and chewing gum.

cheggers · 31/05/2009 00:12

you girls make me giggle.

that is all.

triggerhappybaby · 31/05/2009 11:02

I drank too much last night. And also I feel like someone has punched me in the twinkle. Perhaps it is everything contracting back into the appropriate shape and size. Am walking like John Wayne with constipation this morning

cheggers · 31/05/2009 15:08

ermm yeah so did i

had an accidental, longer than anticipated session down the pub. when i fall off wagons, i fall off them big style.

few days away from ovulating though so that's the last of that for this month. honest.

SarahAbroad · 31/05/2009 17:44

Me too, trigger & cheggers. But lunch today (friend's b-day), was my last glass of wine for the month too (ov is some time next week). Honest.

triggerhappybaby · 31/05/2009 18:16

Ovulation schmovulation

SkaterGrrrrl · 31/05/2009 19:37

So forgive me for being nosy but has anyone started doing that legs in the air thing after baby dancing to keep the swimmers in - you know, like Julianne Moore in the Big Lebowski trying to have The Dudes baby.

I think I should but I suspect DH will laugh at me.

Nocoffeenoworkee · 31/05/2009 20:49

I KNEW it, someone had to talk about baby making at some point amidst the drinking/drunk chat.

I'm not sure about the legs in the air thing, but having never conceived before (and with a small career shaped window to do so) I'll try pretty much anything to give those wee swimmers a head start. Apparently having a big fat orgasm helps too (contracting muscles etc) and DH will not be allowed to laugh at the prospect of that!

It looks like there's a small gathering of us OVing this week, interesting times ahead. Can I just say I'll be the very picture of frustrated/sober/impatient/symptom spotting during the 2ww. Have had quite a blast with the drinks cupboard over the last week so it's not all bad.

[gently returns gin bottle to cupboard, passes key to husband, removes soft drinks from dark, dusty boring cupboard; eyes up DH speculatively]

SkaterGrrrrl · 31/05/2009 22:39

It's definitely meant to help if the woman has an orgasm.... apparently it also helps if she has another one, um, afterwards.

At least that's what I tell SkaterBoy

cheggers · 31/05/2009 22:52

yes i always get my fair share

we also have all sorts of post coital pillow shenanigans with mr c shoving them under my bum.

he's good as gold though and doesn't laugh. even brings me a book or my internets to keep me entertained.

might not do any good, but at least you get to lol around in bed for another 45 minutes

laurielou · 01/06/2009 08:05

Morning ladies,

Just got back into work after a weekend away at a friend's wedding. Obviously romantic, beautiful blah blah & alchohol fuelled. Still feeling a bit blurry & groggy this morning. Thank goodness I'm not alone.

Have booked 3 weeks off work in Oct in preparation for a hol, but nothing booked as yet. Maybe I should to help along my pg mallarkey. I thought buying a ridiculously expensive slinky dress would ensure PG but to no avail.

New York is fab - very envious of you. Have had a variety of trips to the states from the sedate pretty drives around New England to the fantastically trashy Las Vegas - love the place. Enjoy yourself.

Anyway, I'd better try and focus my eyes in one direction & at least look like I'm doing some work.

Have a good day,
x

VeryAnnieMary · 01/06/2009 09:18

Morning, you lot! Hello cheggers! have also had boozy weekend despite ovulating...I think - well, to be honest it's all guesswork and I don't want to miss out on some bubbly on the offchance.....

Wish people would stop mentioning Boston on MN - it's my spiritual home, I miss Crate & Barrel on Boylston soooo badly, and strolling down Newbury, popping into that lovely coffee shop with the blue and white china. And don't get me started on trips to the ocean. Boo. Will have to -nag- persuade DH to agree to yet another trip...

triggerhappybaby · 01/06/2009 10:18

If it is your spiritual home VAM then you are almost a definite to conceive there. You can call the offspring Boston and be reminded of the place the whole time!! Job done!

Cosmosis · 01/06/2009 10:45

Oooh recipe for canteloupe bellinis required please! bought some prosecco at the w/end becuase it's our wedding anniversary tomorrow, bellinis would be a great plan!

Aussieng · 01/06/2009 10:53

Morning everyone, hello Cheggers sounds like everyone had fun in the sun this weekend.

Seem like a lot of us are going to be "working" hard this week.

Happy wedding anniversary Cosmo.

mmmmn... Prosecco with aperol..makes me think of Italy. I sooo need a holiday.

skihorse · 01/06/2009 12:36

I'm having a horrible time. Went to Body Pump this morning and have been finding a new route on google earth to take the horse this afternoon - but horreur d'horreur - the fecking supermarket is closed and I can't get any more tonic.

My A-game is being saved up for next weekend.

I'm very tempted to book a ski holiday to encourage conception.

Cosmosis · 01/06/2009 13:33

No tonic??? !! What is the world coming to??

I did the holiday one - we have a mtb holiday in Italy booked for September.

triggerhappybaby · 01/06/2009 13:56

Congrats Cos on your impending conception!!

Nocoffeenoworkee · 01/06/2009 20:21

Recipe for Canteloupe Bellini - 1 very ripe canteloupe melon (or whatever you can lay your grubby mitts on), juice of 1 lemon/lime, 1tbsp caster sugar, 1 bottle VERY cold prosecco. Pulverise the melon in a food processor (no seeds), add lemon juice and sugar to taste, fill a cocktail shaker with melon puree to half full, add prosecco to the top, shake. Serve in champers glasses, smile smugly.

Have already broken the no drinking rule - the chilled pinot grigio did for me.

Still, not quite OVing just yet so here's to the next glass in the sunshine ;-)

triggerhappybaby · 01/06/2009 20:24

Slainte

SkaterGrrrrl · 01/06/2009 21:01

There so should be a 'wondering-about-priorities-emoticon'.

Dude did you say 45 minutes with your legs in the air to keep the baby gravy present?

So that's what we're doing wrong, no wonder we're not pg!

Laurie book some flights! While you're at it order some nice new clothes online. That oughta settle it with the gods!

I heart Boston too, I walked the Freedom Trail recently...
