Ha! I see I have rendered you all dumb with my superior culinary skills. Ok you can all stop feeling inferior, this is not Masterchef

If it helps, the torte was more like rocky road, the butterscotch cake was so sweet it made all my teeth drop out, but the muffins were bang on.

Appear to be having an attempt at AF today . Nowt to speak of but prob roughly about right considering I started miscarrying on May 24th (even though it lasted till the following Thurs), which is 28 days ago. So we'll see...

skihorse · 22/06/2009 08:23

Oh dear, my POAS was "inconclusive". I got my dates mixed up and I'm actually due on tomorrow, but OH convinced me to test this morning and I figured it wouldn't hurt being as it was only a day early.

Bear in mind the tests I've got are not early-response ones. There was a faint, faint line but OH saw it too. I know they say "a line is a line", but I'm not buying it until it flashes, goes "beep beep beep" and does the can-can across the bathroom floor.

If I don't get my period tomorrow I'll test again Weds. On saying this - what are your bets for me in Boots tonight buying a digital?

If I am pregnant, I put this down to my bulk purchase of tampons last month.

laurielou · 22/06/2009 08:34

Argh, ski how exciting / confusing!! Fingers crossed for you, keep us posted.

Sorry for the other BFN's over the weekend too.

I'm on CD31 today, so AF due any day. Not all that regular - last few months have been 29 / 30 / 32 days, with the random 36 day thrown in to keep me on my toes.

My skin is HORRENDOUS & I feel a bit nauseous. Could be AF due, could be stress before a hectic work week could be...........

One of my work colleagues knew another was PG as she usually had beautiful skin then suddenly developed teenage spots.

Think I may have let the cat out of the TTC bag with RL friends. Went out for girly dinner Fri night & as usual subject turned to kids. They both surprised me by saying they weren't sure whether they agreed with IVF. They also constantly tell me & DP to just get on with having a baby.

So playing devils advocate I asked what they would say if I said DP & I couldn't have children, would they still be anti-IVF. I was just trying to bring a close human element to the topic (not that I've really thought about it myself). They laughed & agreed they'd tell me to do everything I could.

They dropped me home at midnight. They live within walking distance of me & didn't get in until 1am. Talking. Paranoid? Moi? No, I've known them both 30+ years so know full well everything I said was being analysed & over-analysed again. Buggar! Thought I was being soooooooo clever.

Off to loo to check gusset / shiney forehead spot, x

triggerhappybaby · 22/06/2009 08:38

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee skiarse

When you come back from the chemist later with your digital tester, you will let us know yes?

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee laurie everything crossed!!

VeryAnnieGertie · 22/06/2009 09:44

Ski - how thrilling! Give us a BFP to celebrate and we'll all beep and can-can across bathrooms throughout Northern Europe!

Babyfail for me this weekend - but actually it was a relief, am once again considering whether this is really a good thing to be sort-of stumbling into without being sure. Despite spending yesterday with a lovely and well behaved 6-week old. POAS on Friday night, waves of relief when negative, then of course the Flo started Sat monring. I should POAS more frequently, sure it encourages Flo to start... 42 days this cycle...

trug - impressive baking! - I made a choc mocha pudding which was very nice and lapped up by visitors.

VeryAnnieGertie · 22/06/2009 09:45

Ps Sarah - sorry about your BFN - hope you hit the Gin at the weekend.

Cosmosis · 22/06/2009 09:52

ski ski ski a line is a line is a line????? surely?!!!!!

laurie this also sounds exceedingly exiting

trug I hand over the baking crown with pleasure. have to report back though that the cheesecake was utterly fabulous, everyone said so and I drank plenty of the fizzy vino so it was all good.

skihorse · 22/06/2009 10:00

I'm driving myself potty here - whilst a line is a line is a line, I am 35 and 5 months - ergo my eggs have not been viable since January.

Add to which, do NOT EVER EVER EVER go to www.peeonastick.com and start confusing yourself over evaporation lines vs. faint lines.

I searched this site and someone had said they got a faint line and immediately made OH pee on the other one in the box for a comparison - I wish I'd thought of that this morning!

Pros:
Skin still exceedingly clear
Cons:
Breasts still normal size and not sore to the touch (except when OH lay on me)

VeryAnnieGertie · 22/06/2009 10:02

Oh Ski - am still holding my breath for you!

triggerhappybaby · 22/06/2009 10:03

A curse on your muffin trays

laurielou · 22/06/2009 10:31

What? Really? I hadn't seriously thought about my preidcament sounding exciting. But I suppose its not over until the AF lady sings.

Bollocks!!!! I suppose I really could be PG.

OK, back now. VAG - of course you should stumble into it without thinking, isn't that what we're all doing?

ski there's a website called peeonastic.com? I think confused.com is more what I need (And I'm not talking car insurance).

You peed on a digital stick yet? C'mon, what's the latest?

skihorse · 22/06/2009 10:58

laurielou The latest is that I'm driving myself potty this end.

I'm one of those who says a line is a line, but I just daren't believe it.

wildfig · 22/06/2009 11:05

Ski go and get a digital weestick FFS. We need to know!!

And laurie spots are always good. Fingers crossed!

laurielou · 22/06/2009 11:07

predicament

Oh ski I've always gone by the mantra a line is a line. Can you get a more sensitive one so you know for sure?

wildfig · 22/06/2009 11:09

Laurie have you tested? You're not really doing this properly unless you're spending £30 every month in Tesco's on pregnancy tests that 'you're not going to use until you're actually late this time'. Get to the shops, please.

wildfig · 22/06/2009 11:10

PS obviously Tesco's is emporium of the devil, boo hiss, organic Fairtrade pregnancy tests only for me, thanks, etc.

skihorse · 22/06/2009 11:12

I'm going to swing by boots after work and pick a more sensitive test up.

Reasons for being pregnant:

  1. Mass buying of tampons
  2. This will fuck up my ski season
  3. Can nearly fit in to the pair of jeans I bought in the US in March.
skihorse · 22/06/2009 11:14

PS We nearly need a new thread for the mid-30s gals - we've talked a LOT about gin & cats!

skihorse · 22/06/2009 11:15

PPS Wither Fairtrade organic piss-sticks, it's Kath Kidson piss-sticks here.

Cosmosis · 22/06/2009 11:19

You are right, we do. In fact I was pondering new thread titles yesterday while out for my run.

ski it's becuase you got that talking to from the patronising fertility doc. See, it does help when you stick it up the right hole.

triggerhappybaby · 22/06/2009 11:20

Oh Lord pregski how in the name of all things holy are we supposed to wait till you finish work. God but you're selfish

triggerhappybaby · 22/06/2009 11:21
Cosmosis · 22/06/2009 11:23

But it would be good to start the new thread on a positive note.

(see what I did there???)

wildfig · 22/06/2009 11:26

yes. That would really stick it to the Daily Mail. Come on, laurie, kindly make it a double.

laurielou · 22/06/2009 11:27

How strange that we're all on the same wavelength, was ALSO thinking about the etiquette to starting a new thread.

Me tested? Hell no. I'm not officially late yet thanks to crazy AF. To follow ski reasons to be PG thread:

  1. I bought an OV thermometer thingy to start this month;
  2. Boobs strained at an otherwise well fitting blouse;
  3. I'm starting to resemble the elephant man with my skin - its usually OK;
  4. First Class shenanigans to Thailand (OK, think I could still wedge my PG lard arse into one of those seats)
  5. I'm bricking it!

What time do you finish work ski?
