Hi just wondered if people ttc on Clomid wanted to join this thread unless i have been stupid and missed one.

We are due to fertility clinic on 22nd and expect to go on clomid again.

We have 2 dc. Ds1 is nearly 9 and was concieved without fertility help. THis was a big surprise as have PCOS and was told would never conceive naturally.

Ds2 was conceived after 1 course of clomid 50mg. My day 21 test was awful and still no period after 45ish day. Was put on progesterone to induce bleed. Didnt happen as was pregnant.

Was also on metformin but not currently, waiting for all clear next week. I have dodgy lft generally on medication and also bfing.

Ds2 is 1 now and still breastfeeding. Hoping this will not hinder any treatment as really want to continue this too. I am now 33 so fertility decreasing too.

I dont have a cd currently as all up the shoot so waiting to see what happens really.

Westkazza said about the meraguine thats why i put it lol
Yeah i aint too bad i hurt my back and neck.
I have my bloods on friday so i should get my results mon or tues not sure how it works wit the weekend as all mine worked out to be a tuesday so far and i get the results 2 days later. Pretty sure i did ovulate just depends now if it worked!!!

stac14 · 14/04/2009 19:59

Well BFN as suspected so will phone the consultant tomorrow to see what I have to do, think I am worrying for nothing but I'm sure awen told me before that the womb lining can be to thin for af as I haven't ov'd and this is my 3rd time bringing it on that sounds likely, what do you think? xxx

Westkazza · 14/04/2009 20:28

stac14 sorry to hear about BFN. You sound like you are in the same boat as me. I haven't ov'd since November and this will be my 2nd time of inducing AF. You also seem to being having GP nightmares. Mine is just a bit non-comital and they keep losing our results. DH had a test done on March the 3rd and they still can't find his results!!.

I haven't heard about the thin lining thingy before but I guess it kinda makes sense. I'm back to the docs tomorrow hopefully they will up the dose, but I have concerns as I had shocking side effects last time and that was just on 50mg.
I'm starting to think that my job is playing a part in all of this. I do crazy hours (I start at 4.30am some days and finish at 1am others). I think it is having a serious effect on the way my body functions. Also it is hard to find the right time to see DH for the magic to happen. Does anyone else do odd working hours I would love to know how you cope??? x

Clure · 14/04/2009 20:55

stac sorry for you, thats a crapper. I don't really know enough about the biology of it all to be able to answer your question. hopefully someone could shed some light? Still no af here either.

westkazza at GP losing results. What side effects did you get with clomid last time? It must be tough working those hours and I would guess that it may well have some effect on your body, I'm no expert though!

Last time I saw consultant he wanted to do repeat bloods for hormone screaning but I haven;t bothered. Hormones are all over the place, possible early meno, just taken provera, no idea where I am in cycle so why bother!! Is that naughty of me?

hello everyone else how are you all getting on?

clairebear88 · 14/04/2009 21:02

Hi all

I hope you had a great easter weekend. I did an early test on sat as couldnt help myself but got bfn. Then AF arrived bang on time yesterday so now on CD2 and back on the little tabs tonight. I had sort of convinced myself this month so hit me a bit hard yesterday. I think its coz I had good follicles and lining so everything is ok but just not happening.
Also just found out my job is at risk of redundancy so thats on my mind too.
Oh well thats enough from me

Good luck and good night
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

stac14 · 14/04/2009 21:35

Hi Clure I'm ok really as I didnt expect to be pregnant so just have to wait till af comes or consultant advises me otherwise lol

Hi westkazza I was in your position and was increased to 100mg the side effects were pretty much the same, the thing that gets me is the low moods other than that I managed ok, I'm sure you will be fine, just come on here and let it all out thats what we're here for lol

{{{HUGS}}}Clairebear Really sorry to hear af got you and about your job, hope you feel better soon, what dose of clomid are you on?

xxx

fruitbowl · 14/04/2009 21:35

Hi to everyone.

Sorry Clairbear & Stac about your BFNs . Sorry it didn't happen this time for you.

Hi BeanieB & clure (waves).

Sorry not to chat more but I have an urgent question for you all. I thought my period arrived yesterday and so was expecting to take my clomid today CD2. But now period has sort of stopped to just a brown wipe (TMI I Know). I did a routine pg test this am before this happened and it was negative but now AF has stopped I'm too worried to take the tablet just in case I might be pg. It is AROUND the time my period is due - perhaps 1 or 2 days earlier than expected.

I think I'll not take it tonight and then ring the fertility centre in the am. Whjat would you do? Any similar experiences??

Clure · 14/04/2009 21:50

Hi fruitbowl my consultant told me to take clomid even if a short period did arrive. Back in november I had a period a bit like the one you described. I'd still ring clinic and check though

Sorry to hear your news clairbear

fruitbowl · 14/04/2009 21:59

thanks Clure d'you think I could still take it starting day 3? Of course I'll ask them as well but they're not online at silly o-clock and you and me ARE!

How's u?

monkeybumsmum · 14/04/2009 22:16

Hi fruitbowl, I know that I haven't really a clue about Clomid, but my consultant did tell me to start taking it on CD3 until CD7, so maybe it would be okay if you start on day 3. Might be different over here though...

HTH's

Awen - totally understand the lurking, but we are here for you if you need to vent. We can take it I was just thinking today that it was April, 4 years ago that we got pg with an ectopic, my first and only BFP... I kept POAS just to prove it to myself and DH. It was a fun week or two until we found out it was ectopic. I can't wait to get another BFP, under different circumstances. Take care of yourself, or do something that will make you bust out laughing!

Fruitbowl I've always taken Clomid starting on CD3. With a BFN and a period, I'd say there's little chance you are pg and could hurt it by taking Clomid, but I'm not a doc. Best of luck, keep us posted.

islegrin · 14/04/2009 22:55

clarification: there is little chance you are pg and there is little chance you could hurt it, by taking clomid

fruitbowl · 14/04/2009 22:59

thanks girls! islegrin, I knew what you meant

boo1981 · 15/04/2009 10:09

hi i've never joined anything like this b4 but feel i need 2. im 28 and my dh is 36 we've been married 4yrs, i have a daughter who is 5 from a previous relationship. my husband does'nt have any children.been ttc for 3 1/5 yrs. i have pcos and my dh has low sperm count and low motility. i have started my first round of clomid of 50mg. im on day 20 had no real side effects apart from really sore boobs. i do normally ovulate. goin 4 blood test 2morrow 2 c if have. xxxx baby dust 2 every1

clairebear88 · 15/04/2009 11:25

Hiya all and Newbies

Thanx for all your support I love you all.

Stac - Im on 50mg and as it worked last month and had good follicles and lining my FC is keeping me on 50mg. If still not pregnant by next month I have got to book another int scan and a HCG shot to release the egg( not had an HCG before so can anyone advise ).
Fruitbowl - I think different docs say different days but CD2-6 is the most common. Its hard sometimes as AF normally arrives in the evening for me and is not full period so I do not class CD1 until next day. Other people may treat that as CD1 so I think as long as its day 2 or 3 you should be ok. Clomid does tamper with your period too so could be heavier/lighter, longer/shorter so its your judgement call really. If it shows a BFN I would take the clomid the next day
( personally ). Good luck

sgibbo · 15/04/2009 17:13

Hi Clairebear, i have the HCG shot it makes you ov 35hrs after the shot is given so best to BD before!

stac14 · 15/04/2009 17:39

Hi ladies
consultant has told me to go ahead and start clomid even though af isn't here yet, have any of you heard of this or done this? xxx

islegrin · 15/04/2009 18:18

stac no, I've never heard of that before. I'm interested to hear what happens. How are you liking the idea?

Clure · 15/04/2009 18:29

stac wow, didn't know you could do clomid without af. I will give mine a couple more days and contact consultant (or GP) How are you doing?

Hi everyone else x

Lisylou1980 · 15/04/2009 18:37

Hi all
Fruitbowl on my second round of clomid i have exactly the same as you and then it reappeared with just spotting for 2 further days then finaly it came properly. i started taking my clomid later that month think i done 5-9 instead of 2-6 because of this reason. worth making a phonecall and checking what they want you do do.
Stac that does seem a bit strange taking it without and AF.
No news here. Oh i'm on day 19 today not 18

stac14 · 15/04/2009 19:03

Hi ladies
I feel the same as you but a lady on another thread did this and fell pregnant and is now 24 weeks with twins so I think I will leave it till Monday just in case af arrives if not I will go for it. My boobs are aching (sorry tmi)so maybe it is on its way xxx

fruitbowl · 15/04/2009 19:32

Hi again and welcome Boo.

Thanks for your replies. In the event AF continued to er flow after her first go slow so i took the dose last night.

I def agree Clairbear about the clomid messing with the length and flow of your period, mine is def much lighter and shorter (now I'm worried it's coz I don't have nice thick lining - always worrying about sommat!)

How's everyone else?

stac14 · 15/04/2009 19:56

Sorry boo excuse my lack of manners, welcome to the thread added you to the list hope your bloods go well. I'm sure you will find support on hear the ladies are fab
