MamaMaiasaura · 16/01/2009 23:09

Hi just wondered if people ttc on Clomid wanted to join this thread unless i have been stupid and missed one.

We are due to fertility clinic on 22nd and expect to go on clomid again.

We have 2 dc. Ds1 is nearly 9 and was concieved without fertility help. THis was a big surprise as have PCOS and was told would never conceive naturally.

Ds2 was conceived after 1 course of clomid 50mg. My day 21 test was awful and still no period after 45ish day. Was put on progesterone to induce bleed. Didnt happen as was pregnant.

Was also on metformin but not currently, waiting for all clear next week. I have dodgy lft generally on medication and also bfing.

Ds2 is 1 now and still breastfeeding. Hoping this will not hinder any treatment as really want to continue this too. I am now 33 so fertility decreasing too.

I dont have a cd currently as all up the shoot so waiting to see what happens really.

Hey Alfie - Glad its not been too bad last night.

Mensa - sounds pretty promising to me!

Awen- you ok too?

MamaMaiasaura · 21/01/2009 22:32

Alfie - glad you had a better night. Clomid does funny things. I hated being on the pill.

Pink - Am ok here, just been busy again.. Nervous over tomorrow.

Mensa - With the cycle longer thing, I didnt ov till late with clomid (my day 21 were a complete wash out) so ended up taking progesterone and when no period (sorry i hate using AF) i ended up testing and got bfp. Think it was cd50 odd in the end. Really should find old thread.

Well ladies I m 7DPO and my boobs are KILLING ME! Awen did you experience this? It started about 5/6 DPO and is ridiculous today I am pretty sure Its not pg relted as temps went up to roughly 37.11 on 4dpo and have been falling since then. Crap symptoms are not fair when you are not even pregnant!!

Alfiemax · 22/01/2009 17:14

Hiya Ladies,

Ooooh I really hope that this this month sees the long awaited BFP's. I'm really excited for once!!

Well I'm so far pleased to say that apart from that first night and a headache at work today that I've been fine (touch wood). Erm in fact I've been feeling really happy, upbeat, not my usual self at all. I know that may sound daft but I really am a miserable bitch as a rule. Do you think it's the hormones? Also another question as it's bugging me a bit. Obviously I know you get side effects while taking C but at what points in the cycle do you also notice them? Like will I know when I ov that I've took C? Will the later half of cycle be different? Will my period be different? I know lots of Q's and everyone is different but I'm just feeling so un-clomidy to what I have been expecting! I think I might be going mad actually, because I dont want to feel rough but I want to know it's doing it's job and the less side effects, the less I'm likely to believe it's working. I hope I'm not waffling too much lol. Just confused as to what my point is?

How are you all anyway??

Pinkmook are you feeling posistive? I hope so and I hope you get your BFP. GL XX

Awen is your appt tomorrow?? If so, all the luck in the world hun.

Mensa anything happening your end yet?? Fingers crossed.

XX

pinkmook · 22/01/2009 17:36

Alfiemx you sound exactly ike me! I am usually quite crabby but was surprisingly chirpy on clomid! All those questions you asked I would like to know the answer to as well as its my first cycle of clomid!

Now we need awen!

xx

MamaMaiasaura · 22/01/2009 21:32

pink - i was symptom spotting the whole time. It is so confusing and so many side effects are similar to symptoms. I just 'knew' i had to do a test, was in tears early sunday morning and hadnt slept the night before. Dp was not amused and reluctantly bought one, which was + I only had one cycle on 50mg.

Alfie - totally get the whole chirpy and excited feeling. About the symptoms. Cop out but they vary so much from one to another and if like me you are really irregualr anyway it is hard to compare to what would be a 'normal' cycle.

Mensa - you ok?

Ok...... had appointment today (though ds2 tried to thwart us at every opportunity ) and it went brilliantly. I am picking up my prescription on Monday. Am starting straight off on provera 7 days then start clomid on cd2 (100 mg). No metformin due to recent study which is supported by lancet so no longer licenced apparantly. Could have gone on it but i get funny lfts so intead she upped the clomid. She was going to up it when i was last on it as my cd21 results were awful. I have to have scan cd10 for follicle tracking i think. She going to try us like this for 4 months and then review. I am sooo excited and already worked out if we fall straight away would be due in November (how sad am i ). THe consultant was also very pleased to see ds2 and was showing him off as one of thier successes, he loved in, inbetween destroying her yucca plant. lol

Mensa reject - where are you? Did af get you or are you lucky!?

Thats great news awen - gingers crossed for you

MamaMaiasaura · 24/01/2009 21:48

Pinkmook - how are you doing?

Alfie - are the side effects any less now?

Mensa? You ok? Hope you get your bfp.

Any of you been as sad as me and worked out what the edd would be if all works as it should? I am obsessed i think.

Alfiemax · 25/01/2009 20:58

Hi Ladies,

Sorry I haven't been on for a few days. I dont seem to have had the time. Dont know what I have been doing though lol.

Hows everyone been?? Good hope.

Awen - I had already worked out my dues date if I got pg this month before christmas came around lol. Would be around 20th October. I dont think it's sad to be like that. Some women plan it on purpose to be due a cerail time. If only we could be that lucky eh!

Well I'm just waiting to ov now. Have some EWCM and niggles and I'm CD9 so still quite early to be expecting to ov. I'm a teeny bit scared that I'll be in agony when I do ov as the pain is bad enough without clomid :S
The only thing I have noticed different to normal is my cm (tmi) it's alot different to normal. That must be the estrogen thingy?? I might have to do a bit more research on this clomid.

Have any of you got folicle tracking scans? Or bloods? I haven't. They are leaving me to it and said they'll see me around cycle 3.

Oh well, back to work tomorrow. These weekends just go too quick lol.

Take Care girls. I can feel the BFP's waiting around the corner.

MamaMaiasaura · 26/01/2009 22:55

Alfie - Clomid can make the CM less sperm friendly which is a pain. I have a tracking scan on CD10 and ov test CD21. Started provera today Due date should be around 20th Nov if all goes to plan lol

Not on much at ds2 is poorly (croup i think)

HELLO LADIES!!! I was on birth control pills for 6 years exactly. I went off for 6 months and then my hubby and I started ttc. Nothing happend and my obygn gave me 4 month script of Clomid 50mg.Nothing happend. Then tried with two months naturally. NOTHING. Now I got another 4 month script for clomid 100mg. This is my first month on the 100mg. I was ovulating every month on day 12, but this month for some strange reason I ovulated on day 15. What does everyone else think??

stac14 · 27/01/2009 14:12

Hi all,
Just thought I would come on and say hi. My dp and I have been ttc for nealry a year when the dcos discovered I have pcos, after lots of blood tests he has put me on 50mg clomid, finished my last dose bout 16 days ago. I had mood swings and hot flushes on the clomid but have read that the side effects calm down each time you take it, not sure itf its true. Hope you dont mind me adding to your thread. XXX

pinkmook · 27/01/2009 18:33

hey girls, just got back from my initial consultation with a private fertility clinic. Was in there for 2 hours, got spend 1 hour with the consultant going through evrything and asking q's, dh had a sperm test with results done there and then (amazing - takes months for same thing on nhs) and basically we are going to have to go for ivf with icsi as DH's sperm are knackered LOL! I am going to egg share so process takes a couple of weeks longer, but omg I cant believe we are moving on. Consultant said for me to stop taking clomid as its not going to work (DH has 100% anti sperm antibodies -ASA - this is from having had a vasectomy - now reversed - his body has seen his own sperm as a foreign body and developed anti bodies which bind to the sperm preventing them from swimming - so at 100% he said its highly unlikey to happen) The nhs consultant told me that the ASA test they did was fine ! Ha! How wrong can you be!

So ladies I am no longer on the clomid train but I will keep checking on you guys hope you dont mind me posting here! Lots of love and luck to you all PM xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Alfiemax · 27/01/2009 20:47

Evening everyone,

Wow so much to catch up on. LOL

Firstly Pinkmook I'm sorry to hear about DH's SA but.... fantastic that you got the doc to listen and actually give you the much wanted results and advice. I really hope that icsi/iui works for you, and please do make sure you keep in touch hun. Good Luck and dont be a starnger.

Awen Sorry your DS isn't well, it's horrible when you cant do anything for them On a lighter note though, you'll be joining us with the night sweats and dry as a bone syndrome too now then? Heehee. How long do you have to wait after taking the provera before taking C? Oooh I bet you cant wait.

Welcome Brandybaby and Stac14 hope we are not all here too long, in the nicest way possible. With regards to the clomid making you ov later than normal, I think that's what's meant to happen as it's supposed to lengthen your cycle. With the side effects, touch wood I only had a bad night the first night and then a couple of small headaches but have been fine other than that. I'm not sure if you start all over again with side effects each cycle or whether your body just gets more used to it.

I must be about to ov as the pains are more often and worse but still not constant as they would normally so it's a bit hit and miss at the moment as to whether I'm ov now or in the next few days. I guess if we just bonk loads I get a better chance. Drinking gallons of green tea at the min to try and keep the stuff flowing (tmi). But lo and behold I'll ov perfect but be as dry as a **.

We bought a little Yorkie today. She's not ready till Sunday but we have put a deposit down, She's such a gorgeous little bundle of fluff. We already have ona and I think they are a brilliant breed. Cant wait to cuddle up with her.

Phew take a breath love!!

Anyways I hope all is well and I'm still feeling really positive about it girls. I think this is ggoing to be a lucky thread.

And....... End!!

BrandyBaby · 28/01/2009 05:50

HI Alfiemax !!!

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN ON CLOMID? AND WHAT DOSE ARE YOU TAKING? THE 4 MONTHS I WAS ON CLOMID 50MG... I WAS SO SICK ALL THE TIME! HOT FLASHES, SWEATING, HEADACHES, VOMITING, DIZZINESS. THEN THIS MONTH WAS THE FIRST TIME ON CLOMID 100MG... AND I HAD NO SIDE EFFETS AT ALL!

BABY DUST TO ALL!!!!

stac14 · 28/01/2009 10:29

Hi all,
I'm supposed to be ovulating at the moment but I haven't had any pains but my cm is clear and stringy (hope am not sharing too much lol) also a lot of people have mentioned that they are getting sore boobs and pregnancy like symptoms, what part of the cycle does this happen?
Baby dust to us all **

Alfiemax · 28/01/2009 18:31

Hi All,

Brandybaby - This is only my first month and I was dreading all the side effects after what I had heard/read. But it took me by surprise really. I have my own theories about clommid but I wont share them at the moment incase I'm wrong lol. I'll see what happens this cycle. So what CD are you on hun??

Stac14 - No such thing as sharing too much, that's what we're all here for. I wouldn't want to share this info in real life but I don't mind sharing my inner most CM on here lol. As ofr the sore boobs I have heard it can be one of the main side effects of clomid. All of my other cycles I have had mega sore boobs from jsut when I'm about to ov up until period comes. But again I'm about to ov (I hope) and no sore boobies. My theories are swimming about my head again. I wouldn't worry about not having any pains though hun. The CM sounds good though. Best get shagging lol.

Awen - Are you ok?? Hope so.

Pinkmook - Hope you're ok too.

I'm begining to wish I had bought some opk's for this clomid larky. I haven't used them for a couple of years as I pretty much know when ov but it's pissing me off a bit because the pains keep coming and going and I'm like 'am I?' 'aren't i?'. TBH I'm not one for having much sex and the less I know about when I'm ov the more sex we have to have. I know that sounds awful but I have zero libido so when we do do it I want to enjoy it not because we are on a mission. CM seems up and down too, and like I said no sire boobs so I really don't know whats happening at the moment. Ok granted I dont want to be in agony with cramps but just some sort of obvious sign would be nice. I have got a CB monitor upstairs. Ooooh actually I think I have 1 or 2 sticks left from that. I can read those without having to use the monitor. I'll do that in the morning then.

Ark at me going on again. I shall let you all know if I get a pos stick tomorrow. I'll be all sexed out at this rate.

Take Care girlies. XXXX

Alfiemax · 28/01/2009 18:34

Apologies for my abismal spelling. I type fast without reading what I'm typing

stac14 · 28/01/2009 19:13

Hiya Alfiemax

We have been getting it on lol. I haven't been using ovulation sticks either but this is my first round of clomid an not due at the gynecologist till 9th Feb. Not too worried about the lack of pain, I never had sore boobs before so presuming that I may not get it now.
How many rounds of clomid have you had?

Hows everyone else?
XXXX

Alfiemax · 28/01/2009 19:58

Hi Stac14

Well when I had my last appt with the cons I saw his understudy, and according to her the cons 'doesn't muck about with 50mg' so she gave me 6 months of 100mg. I felt that this was too much so have started myself with 50mg. I'll do this for next cycle as well and maybe cycle 3 & 4 until I'm used to it. Hopefully I wont even need it that long. But also by doing it that way I'll get a couple of extra cycles on it if things don't go to plan.

How about you? I'm also not having any folicle tracking or bloods done. They just said to wait for an appt in the post for around cycle 3. I'm not too worried about that because so far I've felt well on them. But it would have been nice to know whether I have ripe eggs ready to go.

stac14 · 28/01/2009 20:05

Hi alfiemax
I got bloods took on day 10 and have to get them again on friday so the gp can check if I have ovulated, think he is being over cautious as I havent seen the consultant yet. If you dont mind me asking what have you been diagnosed as? I have pcos which I never knew I had till I came off the pill last April, gp was quick to respond because I had always been regular even when not on the pill, my DP and I have a ds each from previous relationships so we presumed we would fall quickly but at least it is getting sorted now. Just feels like an endless cycle of times and dates lol xxx

BrandyBaby · 29/01/2009 00:08

Alfiemax,

My cycles are 29 or 30 days.

I was taking clomid 50mg on days 5-9.(ovulated on day 12)

But this month im taking clomid 100mg on days 3-7.(ovulated on day 15)

I use ovulation predictor kits every month.

What about you??? and tell me what some of your theories?

AttilaTheMeerkat · 29/01/2009 09:22

Please do not use OPK's whilst taking clomid as it could give misleading readings. Clomid encourages more LH hormone to be produced; the kit will likely read this level.

Also the usual max time on clomid is six months after which time other treatments should be tried.

Almeida · 29/01/2009 10:12

Can you take clomid whilst bf?

Alfiemax · 29/01/2009 19:03

Hiya Ladies,

I have been 'diagnosed' with unexplained infertility. I seem to be ov'ing ok on my own. The only thing different for me is the fact that my luteal phase and cycles are short. Sometimes my luteal has been as short as 7 days which is crap. We have been TTC for over 5 years now and this really is our last resort because we can't afford private treatment. My normalish cycle length would be around 24 days at the most and I would normally ov anywhere between day 9 and 13 but most of the time day 11-12. They sayd that your luteal phase never alters but that's a load of shite because I know 100% mine does. Also for me normally I would class CD1 as the day any bleeding starts, whether it's spotting or at 10 O'Clock at night because as far as I'm concerned I'm out of the running. On that note, by my count I am CD14 today and finally ov'ing YAY!!!! So I know for sire that the C has lengthened the 1st half of my cycle which is great. I seem to be having lots of watery CM which normally I get before ov then it disappears at the crucial time. I'm not liking the pain so much though. It's not the level of pain but it's where it is because it's all around my stomach and kidney area. This is how it was when I had that ruptured cyst. Sooooo.... some bonking tonight where I'll no doubt want to cry out in pain, then it'll be on to the 2WW which will probably seem like a 2 year wait lol.

God I'm glad I'm not speaking this as I'd be out of breath.

I really do wish everyone luck for this cycle.

I shall have another think about my theories and fill you in soon.
