Hi just wondered if people ttc on Clomid wanted to join this thread unless i have been stupid and missed one.

We are due to fertility clinic on 22nd and expect to go on clomid again.

We have 2 dc. Ds1 is nearly 9 and was concieved without fertility help. THis was a big surprise as have PCOS and was told would never conceive naturally.

Ds2 was conceived after 1 course of clomid 50mg. My day 21 test was awful and still no period after 45ish day. Was put on progesterone to induce bleed. Didnt happen as was pregnant.

Was also on metformin but not currently, waiting for all clear next week. I have dodgy lft generally on medication and also bfing.

Ds2 is 1 now and still breastfeeding. Hoping this will not hinder any treatment as really want to continue this too. I am now 33 so fertility decreasing too.

I dont have a cd currently as all up the shoot so waiting to see what happens really.

Alfiemax · 10/04/2009 21:10

Hiya Ladies,

Just thought I'd let you know I'm still here. Been having problems getting on MN and just got back from a short holiday. My af came even earlier than expected and was here by CD20. Am now CD15 of this cycle. Never got to take clomid again this month, cant even remember why but there was a rwason. But I am officially fit and healthy body weise. No more nasties and definatley taking the clomid when af comes this time (all being well where fate is concerned).

Hope evryone is ok and I see it's getting ever fuller in here. So glad that there are lots of other women on clomid as it can sometimes feel very lonely on the fertility front.

Good Luck to all those waiting to test. Lots and lots of BabyGlue for those with BFP's and tons of Babydust to everyone.

Hi everyone. I am feeling a bit today as I have had a small bit of spotting this morning which has now gone. I am on CD12 so not sure if this is due to Clomid/Ovulation/me being a bit abnormal (lol). Has anyone else had this?

ginstar · 11/04/2009 20:42

Hello Ladies,

Just wanted to say a big thank you for your replies to my first post here - I was in such a state after my first follicle tracking scan and I was so grateful to hear a bit of reassurance.

Wasn't sure quite how to add myself into the CD update list but I'm currently on CD13

I bought an ovulation indicator kit from boots earlier today which 'seemed' to read positive, so dh and I will be doing the do again later, fingers crossed !

Lots of babydust to everyone, and thanks again for the warm welcome

hi all. Sorry not been online but been feeling a No idea what is happening with my body or what happens next.

Hi ginstar - scan sounded very postive so good luck and hope this month works x

sgibbo - did you test today? x

sgibbo · 11/04/2009 23:17

Hi Awen tested today BFN, no AF yet still waiting, sort of expected it so i think it sunk in quicker

fruitbowl · 11/04/2009 23:20

Hi everyone

Been lurking for a while. Just coming to the end of my first clomid cycle and hoping that it has miraculously done the trick!

Katlokna like you I had light spotting mid cycle for the first time. I put mine down to an ovulation bleed (basically the fluid from when the follicle pops for the egg to be released) and sure enough, the nurse said my spotting day was when they thought I'd ovulated from my follicle tracking scan. Could this be what you had you think?

Anyone else get loads of migraines and bad moods??

Good luck to all. I've been forward and added me and ginstar to the stats.

Happy Easter

Sorry for missing you off the list fruitbowl we must have posted at the same time lol I have had lots of bad moods too feels like a rollercoaster of emotions

Awen {{{HUGS}}} you sound down chick, are you getting the mood swings from the clomid to?

Sgibbo Sorry about BFN, whats your next move?

ginstar I had found a website about using OPK's when you have PCOS and basically it says you can get a false reading so look for other signs of ovulation too and good luck

My AF still isn't here, has anyone else had this problem after taking provera?

Happy Easter Everyone and baby dust to us all!!! **

ginstar · 12/04/2009 08:48

Morning and Happy Easter !!

stac14 after I posted that last message I started checking about OPKs and PCOS and came across the same info, what a pain in the butt ! I'm hoping I still am/did ovulate as I had a really twingy pain which would tie in with which ovary had the larger follicle.

I took absolutely ages to bleed following provera too - my consultant said it would take 2-5 days but I didn't come on for 11 ! I thought it was never going to happen and we'd fallen at the first hurdle. Hopefully AF will arrive for you shortly !!

Have a lovely day everyone

g x

Clure · 12/04/2009 09:02

Hello all and Happy Easter

stac hi still no af here either. My boobs felt a bit tender but thats it really. how long will you give it before speaking to consultant. I have to say I hadn't considered the possibility of provera not working. Do you think they up the dose if 10mg doesn't work?

fruitbowl nice to see you back on. you must be close to wanting to test given your CD date? Rubbish about getting migraines, I had a small headache after beginning provera but nothing like a migraine - hug

ginstar yes I've read about being wary using OPK's with PCOS. A few of the ladies here have also said the same thing. I also can't use them this time round as my FSH levels are raised and so OPK's give me a false reading - that and the fact that periods have disappeared and I can't predict where I am in a cycle!! I was also interested to hear it took 11 days for your provera to bring on af. Like stac, I'm still waiting

sgibbo and awen hugs to you both

And to the rest of you ladies hope you have a lovely weekend

Lisylou1980 · 12/04/2009 09:27

Hi all
Happy Easter to you all
stac I dont no whether its coz i have endometriosis but i have little pains and aches in my stomach when i'm ovulating i've only really noticed it the last 2 cycles.
Well its just the waiting game for me now, got my 21 day bloods on friday and then god nos when my cycle will be due this month. I really really hate the waiting game weeks seems like years lol.
Well hope you have a good day all

bergs · 12/04/2009 10:20

Had two mc in last six months, I'm 35 yrs old. First mc was a mmc at 11 weeks, the second was 7wks, a couple of weeks ago. Should I be going for further advice and asking about other treatments? We've been trying for two years and still no baby, just these two mc. What advice has anyone got to someone in my position. Should I be pestering for other tests? or chlomid?

stac14 · 12/04/2009 12:51

Good afternoon ladies
Thanks for all your advice, 11 days ginstar that seems like ages lol felt a bit crampy today but not sure if I am imagining it.

Clure I was to take 2 10mg tablets a day which I did for about 4 of the 5 days, but given what ginstar has said maybe its a waiting game, I will give it till Tuesday as that will be 8 days since finished the provera and I will phone the docs.

lisylou its a waiting game isnt it? I always feel as if there is another date to get to before I can move on.

Welcome to the thread Berg sorry to hear about your losses. I haven't been through this so unfortunately I dont have any advice but I am sure there is someone on here that will be able to help. Were you on clomid to fall pregnant initially?

XXX

Clure · 12/04/2009 17:38

hello and welcome bergs so sorry to hear about your mc's. If you are able to fall pregnant naturally but suffer mc I would have thought that clomid would not be the route to go down- although with 2 mc's I would want to know if there was a physiological/biological reason that I couldn't maintain a pregnancy. However if (as stac asked) you needed clomid to conceive in the first place then thats really another set of questions for you to be asking.
Have you been referred to a consultant? If not then requesting this at your GP's would probably be your first port of call.
There are lots of lovely ladies on this thread who might be able to offer advice who have had experience of mc. Lots of luck to you

lisylou you sound a bit fed up with the waiting too! Know how you feel at the moment. I too am waiting for af (only 96 days!)

stac lets hope for af soon!

xxx

fruitbowl · 13/04/2009 00:05

Bergs you poor thing. MC is just awful. Thinking of you. What tests / treatments have you had so far?

katlokna · 13/04/2009 08:30

Hi everyone.

Thanks fruitbowl. I did a bit of investigation via Google and was hoping it was down to that.

Have been really excited since yesterday morning as I have been using a Clearblue Fertility Monitor for the first time this month and yesterday morning I got a 'Peak' which means will ov in next 24-36 hours apparently. Cue me practically assaulting my DH . This coincides with EWCM on saturday and sunday (sorry if TMI) and the spotting I had on saturday.

So hopefully have had a nice easter egg of my own.

beanieb · 13/04/2009 09:53

Hi there. Hope it's ok for me to add myself to your list? I have been waiting for period to come (or not to come) so I can start on my first round of clomid. Started spotting last night and so counting today as day one. Am taking first pill tomorrow and a bit scared.

Should I take it in the evening? Also is it worth me swapping my winter duvet for a summer one to cope with any hot flashes?

Sorry - more questions:
Has anyone else here been prescribed clomid even though you do ovulate? Has anyone been successful with clomid having already been ovulating?

stac14 · 13/04/2009 13:04

Hi Beanieb Welcome to the thread. I take the clomid at night to reduce side effects, a tip I picked up from a website when I was reading about it. Unfortunately I can't help regarding taking clomid if you already ovulate as I have polycystic ovaries and need clomid to help me ovulate, I'm sure someone else on here will help you out with this.

monkeybumsmum · 13/04/2009 13:48

Hi there,
I have been lurking for a little while on this thread, but after seeing your posts bergs and beanieb I thought I should finally introduce myself!

I have one ds (age 2) and before him had a chemical pregnancy. Since he was born, I have had 2 miscarriages (at 8 + 12 weeks) and what I think were 2 more chemical pregnancies over the last two months. Am starting to despair!
I'm under the care of an IVF consultant over here (Belgium), as my GP was worried about me and wanted me to see someone who knows what they're doing... This gynae has given me a prescription for Clomid, which I haven't yet started taking. His reason for doing this was because apparently it'll give me more of a chance each month to have a viable fertilisation. I don't feel ready to take it yet, and I was very confused when he suggested it, as like Clure I thought that it was just to be used for problems with ovulating.

We're going to see what happens over the next few months, and then probably start taking Clomid in the summer if needs be.

I'd love to hear of anyone else who is taking Clomid for similar reasons, as although the gynae is keen for me to take it I can't help but wonder whether this is the right route to go down...

beanieb · 13/04/2009 14:04

hiya monkeybumsmum

I've been prescribed Clomid for the same reason, to give me more of a chance. It's so hard, isn't it, when you know you can get pregnant and that you are ovulating but they give you Clomid anyway? Like you I have considered not taking it (mostly because of the side effects I might get) and seeing what happens if we just keep trying naturally. I don't have much confidence in the Clomid because I have been diagnosed with 'unexplained infertility' but feel there surely must be more they can do. Unfortunately because of my age I will have to pay for any more investigations or procedures although they did mention a post-coital test when I first got referred. Not sure if they will do this if I have no success on Clomid or if they will suggest moving on to IUI privately.

If you do decide to take it, maybe we can hold hands virtually

good luck and so sorry to hear about your Miscarriages.

I too am interested in hearing from other people in the same position as me and my OH.
