V/good - . I am in awe of you y'know, how are you managing to think about anything else - you are doing marvellously.

Lola Totally agree with EVERYTHING Georgie said so won't bore you with the same. Stop being mad and crossing bridges before you get to them lady!

Scully GREAT GREAT NEWS !!!!!! Would say you can relax now but from experience know that is probably out of the question for some time.

FruitynNutty · 05/01/2009 14:47

Good one Georgie and to the point too hahahaha.
Not sure about the spelling though missus! I could be the thread's resident pendant

C'mon lucky thread! We all need to have graduated before this one runs out - no pressure *

Do you wanna go and fetch the list or should I?
I'd quite like to have some Fertility Friend charts on the first page so we can all refer and nosey at them once in a while. I'm not sure if anyone is charting at the moment though

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 05/01/2009 15:54

Fruity. Slap wrist accepted. Am usually so good at grammer as well. Don't suppose I can change it now? Do have other things on my mind!

Look, will prove it to you:

If your name's not down, you're not coming in'!

TeeHee Am adopting the world famous 'head in the sand' approach at the moment. All goes great til 4am when the dark thoughts creep back in.

Yuck!!! My kitten just sneezed in my face!!!! first day back at work today, tried to put on a pair of trousers I wore two weeks ago before end of term and couldn't do them up!!! I ended up in a pair of maternity ones! not even 10 weeks yet!! am I imagining it?? I suppose I have been pg before but only for 10 weeks, would this pg really count as a 2nd pg then??

scully gr8 news about scan!!

Fruity thanks for helping me find the thread!

Georgie good luck for tomorrow!!!thinking of you! I shall check mn at work to see how you got on. What time is the apt? ((( )))

cricri · 05/01/2009 18:32

Found you all! Great title Georgie
Scullay Fantastic news I'm so pleased for you - you can put out your maternity clothes now I know you won't relax entirely, but this is one major hurdle over. Hopefully the ms is on it's way out too.
Georgie Hope you manage to sleep tonight and will be keeping everything crossed for a good result for you tomorrow.
Kate I agree with the advice already given, just do the best you can and if things have to slide at home then so be it. Can imagine it must be hard to face being in court when you feel like crap and might need to run to the loo at any moment Try to take things one step at a time and avoid thinking about the worst case scenario (easier said than done I know!)
Bella No you're not imagining it I got one of those belt extender things for my trousers to tide me over until the maternity ones fitted. And yes this pg does count as your 2nd one, I always found it quite strange seeing that in my notes. Not sure what you can do about the needles - I don't like having blood taken but I'm fine if I don't look. Would recommend a doula too, like Fruity Fruity Have you any option for your birth? Are you still hoping for a VBAC or do you have to have an elcs?
Sparkly Hope the first day back at school went OK.
Teehee Your bump looks very neat! Ignore insensitive comments - people don't know what they're talking about!
Mollie and Ei, hope you're both OK.
All OK here, except Elise has had screaming fits for the past 2 evenings which go on for about half an hour and are very draining for all of us I think it's just a phase but it's horrible. She's been really unsettled all day today so I think it could be another difficult evening Fortunately she sleeps OK once we've got her off at around 11pm so that's something. We were supposed to start a baby massage class today but the class was cancelled due to the terrible road conditions.
Hope everybody else is OK - Mibbes how is the feeding going? Emmsy good to see you again. Hope work gives you an answer soon so that you know what you're dealing with. Fingers crossed they agree to you being off for another year.

FruitynNutty · 05/01/2009 19:18

Bugger, just wrote a long post and pressed 'X' on the tab

I was saying how tired I am after my 1t day back working.

Also my midwife appointment went well. Although I wanted to book some growth scans as I'm so nervous because of DS's size. Fortunately Button's size is spot on but then again they do all their major growing in the last few weeks so I'm not convinced this one will stay "spot on"
I know the scans are so unaccurate but at least they could hazard a guess. I would just like to prepare myself if I'm going to have another 9/10 pounder.

Bella I can't remember if you told me about your previous preg or not. I think you did, I vaguely remember When was it?
Yes this one definitely counts as your 2nd preg. I was in maternity jeans very early on - 8/9 weeks. I got very bloated to begin with. Got a pic of me with a big belly at about 7.5 weeks!
cricri could Elise be starting to teeth? Not unheard of that early.
Yes I'm very much hoping for a VBAC. My c-section went so well but I'd rather go through a natural labour this time with as little interference as possible - easier said than done though!
Georgie Be thinking of you xx

FruitynNutty · 05/01/2009 19:20

I meant "inaccurate"

cricri · 05/01/2009 20:05

Fruity Funny you should say that about teething as she's got a red rash on one cheek, seems to be dribbling more than normal and has been putting her hands in her mouth so it could very well be her teeth starting to trouble her. Difficult to actually see into her mouth at the moment - I suppose I could just put my finger in and have a feel? If it is that then I'll give her some Calpol. Touch wood she seems to have settled and is fast asleep in the sling at the moment

Molliemooma · 05/01/2009 20:12

Hello
Georgie All the luck in the world for tomorrow! I will be thinking of you all day as I have been for the last few days. Hope Mollie's eye is looking better
Scully Hurray for your scan and results, you can start to relax a little now then, hopefully MS will pack its bags and leave for good shortly
Emmsy Work - Like you said you just want to know what the answer is so you can plan, I can't believe (well actually I can ) that they won't get their arses in gear and get it sorted. There's nothing worse either when you don't like the people you work with, I'm really lucky as everyone in our office is lovely. Its pants, the cost of childcare and the lack of help and support especially in the current climate, it sounds like Australia has a much better system Scully do you fancy some lodgers??
Sparkly When is your GP appt? How did the first day back go?
Fruity I love the name BTW I like the hyphernated version Jack Arthur Broughton-Harris sounds dead posh I've decided I shall offer you my spare room for Jack when he is born, you can come and visit whenever you want
TeeHee What a superbly neat little bump! Can't believe something so lovley is you causing you such a pain in the arse (literally) Gorgeous blind as well!
Kate Only 7 sleeps til you see you bean
CriCri Hope the baby massage class does the trick with the screaming fits
Mibbes How are you and Evan?
Bella Wow, am impressed at your need for maternity clothes already Glad to hear there has been no more bleeding

I'm feeling a bit blue at the moment, it's approaching the anniversary of the first m/c and it's all I've been thinking about, not sure DH understands, especially as I just cried yesterday for no reason Bless him, I sent him to the pub in the end. But I'm feeling a litle brighter today

I text EI today to make sure she's OK and she will be on later

SparklyPseudonym · 05/01/2009 21:14

Evening ladies,
Have been working solidly since I got in but it was worth it because I've planned this week and next week so I won't have too much to do. Today was an INSET day so I finished at 2 which was nice.
Great new thread. Am glad to see the back of the last one with the pg and m/c - am hoping the new thread bring us all lots of luck and sees some more of our beautiful cyber niece/nephews being born and behaving themselves.
Georgie I love the thread title . Let's hope it works!! How are you feeling about tomorrow? What time is your appointment? I'll be in a meeting until 5 but I'll log on as soon as I get in to check up on you. We're all here whatever happens. Sending you so much love and luckxxxxxx
Scully CONGRATULATIONS!!! How does it feel? Am so happy for you. Are you going to upload your pics so we can all have a peek?
Lola Don't spend too much time worrying about the things that might never happen. Just try and take it as it comes AND get more sleep missy or you won't be doing yourself any favours. Hope the MS isn't too bad. When is your scan? xx
Bella Did you have a m/c before? It would be classes as a second pregnancy, I think? I was in maternity trousers at 10 weeks when I had my m/c. I felt so uncomfortable in normal trousers. I thin Fruity was the same? You'll have a lovely bump before you know it.
Cricri Do you think E is unsettled because of colic? My DD suffered a little bit and I didn't find infacol very useful. My friend had some drops which she put on her (.)(.)s though which helped but was quite pricey. I could find out what it was for you if you think that may be the problem. Or could it be the jabs? Hope you're ok anyway and that E settles better tonight.
Mollie Am sorry to hear that you're feeling down at the moment. You know where I am if you want a chat. Sending you so much love and support. xxxx

Hello to everyone else.

Fruity I agree about the charts - I love nosing at them. Will bring them across when I get the chance.

FruitynNutty · 05/01/2009 21:34

I meant to say teehee I love my Bugaboo. I can't wait to get it out the loft. I only wish I could trade my old Frog in for a Chameleon. They are extremely over priced but what isn't these days? You deserve one, go and get one
Sparkly Is it Colief Drops you're talking about? I had them for DS and they were pricey but really good. I actually got them free because my friend had a load of them prescribed for her DS and he didnt need them all so I pinched them
cricri You probably won't feel her teeth coming in yet, teething can last forever. Sounds like it could be teething related though. Is she having loose nappies?
Mollie Thanks for the offer
I'm sorry you're feeling down at the moment (((())))

HerNameWasLola · 05/01/2009 21:34

Found you all

Georgie bless you, I know exactly what you mean about not wanting to jinx things, but there's no way starting a new thread can hurt. I know you know this, and I also know you'd be saying exactly the same thing to me if I was in your position I'll be thinking of you all day tomorrow. I think your appt is at about 3.30? Sending you tons of love xx

Scully I'm so pleased for you! Great that it went well, I really hope you can start to relax a bit now. Am I right in thinking your last 2 mc's were pre nuchal?

Bella I'm sorry to hear you've been pg before, I had no idea

Teehee thank you so much for your text earlier. And I know your advice is good, am trying very hard. Latest worry is that Beanie will know how worried I am about work and will think I don't want him/her and it'll all go wrong. Didn't say it was a sensible worry though did I!?!

Mollie glad to hear you're having a better day, anniversaries suck You're allowed to cry all day once in a while, you obviously needed it. Things can only get better my love! At least they'd better bloody had, or I'll get very cross! Sending big hugs xx

fruity glad to hear the mw app went well, fingers crossed for the VBAC xx

Ei Where are yoooooooooooooooou???

Cricri I can't believe Elise might be teething already!! That must make bf fun!!

Hello to everyone else

teeheelaydee · 05/01/2009 22:30

Georgie Much love to you for tomorrow. I think head in sand approach is best atm as you can't do anything just now. I am sending every possible positive thought that there is good news.

Lola You know I'm amazed that any of us manage to operate normally at all with all the worries that come with this whole malarky. You may be worrying about work and focusing on that but at the same time you want this baby so much and have had to be strong to get this far so it will pick up on that as well. I don't think it will be in any douby what your priority is or how wanted it is. You will make the right decisions for your Bean - you will just know how far to push yourself, trust yourself.

Bella lol at kitten sneeze I had no idea you had been pg before - I admire how calm you have been, particularly with some bleeding.

Fruity Thanks for the Bugaboo comfort. I know you've tried and tested a few different ones so glad to know you still love yours. My mum has offered to buy a pram but I have told her to just contribute as couldn't get one if she was paying for the lot - bet she'll still be dreadfully disapproving though! Hope your second day back is a bit less taxing.

Cricri A new day, a new challenge hey! That would be a little cruel of mother nature to give you teething so soon but sure you will cope brilliantly. Interested to hear how the baby massage goes as well. Was it weather that made the roads bad - we had a tiny sprinkle of snow but nothing serious.

Mollie Anniversaries are not just confined to one day either are they and new year can be both hopeful and depressing at the same time. You WILL get there you know. Oh- and DH/DP's - much as they do their best and we love them I honestly think they don't understand and never can. It's just a girl thing. I've started to knit 3 pairs of booties (smaller than usual) which I am going to frame and hang in the nursery to remember our little ones but I've only just felt ready to do it, so these things take time, more than we maybe expect them to.

We have booked our NCT ante-natal classes and I have got some info about a 6 week pregnancy yoga class that starts next week. I am hoping the breathing a relaxation techniques will come in handy.

scully · 05/01/2009 23:03

Love the new thread ladies Thank you for your good wishes, I am feeling slightly more relaxed, hasn't really sunk in yet to be honest, I was almost expecting bad news yesterday, sounds so negative but I think it was just a way of preparing myself.
I have a definite bump now and am wearing maternity trousers/shorts. Am trying to avoid maternity shirts for another week or two as they really accentuate your shape and we aren't in any hurry to tell anyone yet. I work in a team of all women so should be interesting to see if any of them pick up on it when I go back tomorrow.
I have a load of scan photos but need to get dh to scan them, but as that's at work not sure if he can do that and not be noticed (we work at same place).
I had forgotten you were considering a vbac Fruity, I had one with dd2, and recommend them. I will be trying for another one with dc3. My c/s went well but my main reason for avoiding another c/s is the recovery time and the no driving for 6wks. Mind you, dd1 was 6lb7 and dd2 was 7lb6 so I don't know anything about pushing out a 9lb or bigger baby I am only 5ft though so am thankful my babies were in proportion to my size.
I had also thought of colic or teething Cricri, dd2 got 2 teeth through at 5mths, in fact all her teeth came through 2 at a time. Or she might not have a specific reason, she might just be grumpy this week
Anniversaries are crap aren't they Mollie, hope this week isn't too bad for you. Love your comment to Teehee about piles being a 'pain in the ass'
Anyone else's pelvic floor all but disappeared? I know what I need to do but it's remembering to do it. Having hayfever lately isn't helping, I'm really disliking sneezing lately
Lola, you're right, my 2 m/c were at 12wks and 10wks, so before I had had any scans. Am glad I had a scan at 8wks this time, couldn't have waited until 13wks to find out. Have you found any foods that help with the nausea? I've only just been able to drink tea again, have been off it for weeks. Keep snacks with you so your blood sugar doesn't drop suddenly, especially travelling around the place, nothing like being on a train that's not moving, and you're desperate to eat......
9am here and it's hot already, getting up to 30deg or so today, ugh. dd's are arguing already, can see me being shouty mummy today if they don't improve. Maybe I'll just lock them outside and they can bounce on the trampoline until they sort exhaust themselves out

BellaHarry · 06/01/2009 10:50

CriCri what is Doula?? I ignored it in fruity's post as I didn't understand . I hope Elise cheers up soon, do you think she might be teething as others have suggested?

Fruity I can completely understand your nerves re. a large baby, DS was a whopper wasn't he! Beautiful though! I remember how waddly you were towards the end of your pg last time. As for my pg i definitely remember telling you in Rocket Bar in Putney circa 2003/4 over a cocktail.

Mollie Sorry you've been down hun, cry as much as you need to I swear by a good blub, it's healthy.

Sparkly, Lola, Teehee my first pg was an unfortunate encounter with an older boy when I was a young naive girl; whilst I wanted to continue the pg I was strongly encourged not to and at 10 weeks I'm ashamed to say, I had a termination. It plays on my mind a lot these days as I didn't feel I deserved to fall pg again, real Catholic guilt over the whole thing.

FruitynNutty · 06/01/2009 13:33

ah yes,Bella I remember now. Please don't feel guilty about it. It was the right thing for you to do then.
BTW this is a Doula and this is the lovely lady I was talking about who is training
Scully I can't work out if my pelvic floor is going or it's just (TMI!!) loads of CM . I've usually got a very strong pelvic floor. Ah well it all comes with the territory doesn't it. I don't think I had any trouble whilst preg with DS. Perhaps Tena Lady will do the trick for you

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 06/01/2009 18:35

Ladies. GOOD NEWS. Just got back from FMC and the detailed scan didn't show any soft markers for Downs. The nuchal fold is still a little high, but my new adjusted score is 1 in 786.

We're taking this with open arms. We've also decided that the risk of CVS outweighs the benefits so we're not going ahead with it.

The increased nuchal MIGHT be due to a cardiac abnormality (but heart looks good at the mo, so fingers crossed it's not) so we've agreed to go for detailed echocardiogram at 20 week scan. Or it could just be that the baby has a slightly larger nuchal and everything will be ok.

It's been a hellish week. Just so so so pleased that we've come out the other side.

Will be resuming 'normal service' (ie not such self centred posts) tomorrow. But for now, just want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all your love and support. Enough of the snivelling from me. let's concentrate on someone else for a while!!!

OP posts:
Molliemooma · 06/01/2009 18:37

Hooray Hooray Hooray I am so over the moon for you Georgie I bet you can't describe the relief!
I am truly happy for you and DH
Did they get the same measurements as the original babybond figures?

FruitynNutty · 06/01/2009 18:52

Like I said before georgie what a huge relief!
You'll get a good night's sleep tonight
Have you got any pictures of your scan for us to coo over? now that all's well?

SparklyPseudonym · 06/01/2009 19:25

Woohoo Georgie. Let's hope this is the start of a lucky thread. Am so pleased for you. I hope that the rest of your pregnancy sails by beautifully. xxxx
Hi to everyone else.

teeheelaydee · 06/01/2009 19:45

Georgie I am so relieved for you and utterly delighted. I bet you feel elated and knackered all at the same time. It is such fantastic news, thank goodness you got a second opinion. Did they get different measurements?

BellaHarry · 06/01/2009 20:06

Georgie that's fantastic news!!! What a relief! x

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 06/01/2009 20:09

Funnily enough, the nuchal fold was bigger (2.8mm rather than 2.4mm) but Pickle had grown so much in last 2 weeks that it cancelled out the nuchal growth iyswim. Bloods slightly worse, but PAPP-A better as had risen. Which is good. If it had dropped, then alram bells would have gone off.

FMC put all the data from the scan (heart, lungs, brain, crown/rump measurement etc) into their machine and it spits out a more detailed risk number than the one I got at Babybond.

Will try and work out how to scan the scan pics. if not, then you might have to make do with dodgy digital pic of the scan!

Right. This is honestly the last post about me. .

My turn to dish out the TLC to those that need it. xxx
