Hi Rhet - I remember doing pronouns in Shakespeare. Trying to remember, something about familiar and polite usages of you thee thou something like that. I'm quite intrigued now though.
How's the manure? Are you planting stuff for next year?
Cece good news first trimester out of the way - that's good news isn't it!
Sue welcome! I don't know if I read this correctly, but did you write you had five plus kids, I can imagine I would lose count after five as well. You don't sound as if you have any problems conceiving, best of luck with TTC.
I can't remember what day this is, think it may be 24 or something, must check FF. We only bd'd once around the critical time, just didn't really happen, so not really very hopeful. It has been so busy here that I haven't had much time to think about TTC.
I would just like a baby and not have to do all this blooming stuff: counting, checking CM, taking herbal remedies and taking forever.
The good news is I am feeling not depressed and much much better. I think the b6 has helped actually so top tip Cece.

rhetorician · 04/11/2008 09:17

hi rowing you're spot on about the pronouns - I'm impressed! It's some stuff about the sonnets and the use of 'thou' to express both intimacy and contempt. Giving a paper on it the weekend I find out if this cycle has worked or not. Do I measure out my life in pee sticks? Oh yes. There are plenty of pregnant charts on FF where clearly there wasn't much BDing, so I wouldn't count yourself out of the game just yet...

Just got the allotment in the summer, so am trying to get everything ready for planting in the spring. It's hard work, but I really love being out there. I'd happily spend every day digging! It's very good for the muscle tone too.

I know exactly how you feel I hate all the counting, checking, temping, obsessing (e.g. now I am waiting for FF to 'tell' me that I've ovulated, temp gone down slightly this am, so I'm now having conniptions and convincing myself that I haven't ovulated and that it's all hopeless - this is rubbish of course, I had plenty of ewcm, have a cold and so of course my temps are off). Ah yes, that parenthetical ramble really suggests that the balance of my mind is slightly disturbed.

Anyway, best get my act together and go and teach some students.

rowingboat · 04/11/2008 10:35

My mum used to have an allotment and grew some lovely veggies. She had us to look after so could only go up once a week or twice at most. She used to complain because there were some old, retired blokes who would go every day and she said they complained that her patch wasn't tidy enough.
I liked your parenthetical ramble and am very impressed with your interesting choice of adjective.
It's day 26 for us, just checked in and FF has given me a few VIP days. I never seem to use any of the features whenever this happens. Can anyone tell me what I should use/check on the VIP version?

rhetorician · 04/11/2008 11:02

I only get up there once or twice a week at best, but it's odd - there are hardly any allotments available in Dublin (where I live, obviously) but most of them seem quite neglected. But there is a strong old bloke factor - they can't quite believe that a mere girl (which gratifyingly is what I must seem to them, despite my own sense of being over the hill, at least ttc wise) can put in stakes, or dig beds.

Conniptions, is it? I think it's probably a real Dublin word - meaning panic, irrationality, and all round lunacy - so entirely appropriate in the circumstances!

Tabitha8 · 04/11/2008 12:34

Thinking of you for tomorrow, Cece. Hope all goes well.
It is pointless trying not to worry, so I am rewarding myself for the more worried I feel. One choc chip muffin for worrying at level three and two choc chip muffins for worrying at level five. I find myself worrying about things that ordinarily wouldn't have concerned me, just to up the rating. Worrying has now become a very positive experience.

rowingboat · 04/11/2008 21:23

You go Tabitha - that is a such a good approach to something bothersome like worrying.
Yes second the good luck Cece, it will be a great experience though.
Rhet, I was admiring your daring use of parenthetical.
Conniptions (spell checker underlines in red) my mother uses, not sure where she got it from, but she was born in the East End of London, so a real melting pot.

heron22 · 05/11/2008 10:31

hi cece, all the best with your 12 week scan

i have been lurking as usual

rhetorician · 05/11/2008 12:05

just wanted to post a good luck message for cece - thinking of you.

rowing yes, parenthetical, such a lovely word, somehow. Conniptions not bad either (I think it really means 'hysterical overreaction' which describes the TTC emotional roller coaster quite nicely)

Stunned by Obama's win. In a good way.

rowingboat · 05/11/2008 13:38

I am glad they have a democrat, but secretly wanted Hilary Clinton to get in. Didn't get much of an opportunity to watch anything as DS has had a horrible attack of herpes, his whole mouth is filled with sores. He keeps going to bed, but wants me to go and sit with him and read or cuddle him. And we bought a cat from the cat home yesterday - DP immediately developed an allergic reaction, so not sure what is going to happen.
We do have alternative homes if this doesn't work out, but he is a lovely ginger cat, only one year old and very inquisitive.
Even I have a slight reaction when I have stroked him and then touched my face or eyes, but I'm sure I will be fine.
Not very good night for fireworks is it! What a surprise!

cece · 05/11/2008 16:23

Hi I am back from the hosptial and all is well. Baby has now been dated as 12+2 weeks so spot on for my dates.

Tabitha8 · 05/11/2008 17:32

Cece. So pleased to hear your news. Was he wiggling about? Our hospital sell DVDs as well as the ultrasound photos.

cece · 05/11/2008 17:34

Yep had her/his legs crossed and waving hands about. Wouldn't turn around though to give a back view. Just as well I didn't get the nuchal done as I don't think he/she would have been very cooperative

rhetorician · 05/11/2008 18:13

cece that's such great news - I am delighted to hear that all is well

rowingboat · 06/11/2008 15:53

Hi all,
just getting ready to go to work - yawn! That's great news Cece, it sounds very exciting and lovely. He/she was waving at her/his Mummy!
How's everyone?
This is day 27 I think, must check.

roquefortlover · 06/11/2008 16:35

Hello all! Not caught up on everything but congratulations cece - fab fab news.

Well, after a week of spotting I started having bad cramps last night and full on red bleeding all day today so at least I now know where I am. I have had a bad feeling about this one tbh so not surprised to mc and in a way it's almost a relief to know ( sorry if that sounds callous).

We had always planned to take a couple of months off ttc between now and the New year as the timing next year would be very bad, so at least i don't feel we are "losing" any time. We will still do that and then rethink - I am not sure any more that we will carry on, at the moment I feel like pg inevitably=mc not baby so we might just decide to be content with our lovely 3 dcs.

Will lurk for a bit...

cece · 06/11/2008 16:37

oh roque I am so sorry to hear this. I think you are very wise to give yourself some time. We had to wait a few months after our last mc (not through choice), and at the time it was not good, but looking back I can see it was a 'good thing'.

rhetorician · 06/11/2008 18:36

roque I am so sorry to hear your news. Now that you have a break from ttc I think it will probably become obvious to you whether you want to continue or not. I think it is a very good idea to step back and consider where to go from here, and only you and your family can decide what the right thing is for you. But I am terribly sad for you.

Tabitha8 · 06/11/2008 19:18

Roque, my thoughts are with you.

Juicylucytoo · 06/11/2008 21:33

RFL

fruitbowl · 06/11/2008 22:52

Roque - so so sorry. How far along are you again? If it is def a MC I hope it's not too painful and upsetting for you. Sounds like you're being philosophical but do come here for support if you need won't you? I know completely what you mean about feeling relieved because you had negative feelings about the pg.

Look after yourself & come back soon x

Congrats cece. I'm so so chuffed for you. What a relief. Great news for us old duffers eh!!

Hi to everyone else x

rowingboat · 07/11/2008 00:37

Roque, I'm sorry to hear about the mc, it is sad, see how you feel after your break.
Lurk away though!
We have missed your cave-matured character.
How is the new job, have you started yet?

xserialshopper · 07/11/2008 18:59

Ahhh roque so sorry to hear your sad new

OP posts:
xserialshopper · 07/11/2008 18:59

I am actually 3 days late - but I know I'm not preggi (Clearblue digital was negative) plus have been feeling slight cramps every now and then. So AF has gone missing. Has anyone seen her by any chance?

Cece I'm glad your scan went well

Heron are you ready to pop yet?

OP posts:
cece · 08/11/2008 11:19

xserial - don't give up hope yet. I was 3 or 4 days late before I got a bfp.

FertilityFiend · 08/11/2008 11:46

Oh Roque that is very sad news, I'm so sorry

Rowing - re your FF VIP question, the feature I use most is Chart Overlay in the Analysis section (you can overlay your current chart with some of your previous ones to see if this month is any different). I also enter symptoms as well as temps on my chart - not sure but I think that may be a VIP feature. It's worth having an explore with the features - but then again I find it only fuels my obsession so maybe that's not such a good idea

Tabitha - am liking your style re the muffin worry-ometer

Cece - that's fab news re the scan, what a relief, so pleased for you

8 dpo here now, temps are nothing remarkable so far. Had a dip on day 6 but too early for an implantation dip I think. had a glob of thick yellow ewcm, then white ewcm yesterday, has gone now though. It got my hopes up a bit as I'm pretty sure I haven't had anything similar in the luteal phase before - however googling it didn't come up with anything much.

One thing I do feel compelled to remark upon, my skin and hair are SO much better this month. I have upped both the EPO and Agnus Castus dosages this month, but am inclined to think it's the EPO as I it's something I used to take but hadn't been taking it much over the last few months, and my skin was noticeably worse when I wasn't taking it.

Sorry for the drivelling on, hope everyone can find a bit of cheer on this soggy wet weekend. (Think my cheer's going to be emanating from a Chinese takeaway and X Factor tonight...)
