Anyone coming to join me?

OP posts:
lilibet · 28/10/2008 11:26

Heron is pregnant? That's wonderful news

when?

lilibet · 28/10/2008 11:29

Just had a look down the thread - so many positives - wonderful!!!

Ali4cotswolds · 28/10/2008 11:32

would love to join the group ..just turned 41 and trying to persuade Dh that we should go for it as having a no 3 is a fab idea .. DD is 8 and DS is 6. Any good suggestions of how i can persuade him?

Tabitha8 · 28/10/2008 17:56

(Managed to get rid of that extra number 8).
Welcome new ladies and many congrats to Lilibet. I'm 43 and now pg for the 4th time in 11 months (still only 6 weeks past conception). Getting ever nearer to the scary point where I tend to miscarry, so trying to keep my mind together. If only we could have portable scanning machines at home so we could have a daily peek. . I like all these little witchey faces; can't wait to see the Christmas ones. Perhaps we could have a nativity scene and a Santa?

Juicylucytoo · 28/10/2008 21:10

Lilibet - what great news!!

A friend reminded me yesterday (over 2 bottles of wine ) that I took royal jelly last time - I got pregnant 2 months into taking it, so will be spending my wine allowance on Royal Jelly vials now I'm back on the wagon.

roquefortlover · 29/10/2008 14:13

Welcome to new people and congrats to Liibet - Sod's Law indeed.

JLtoo, sorry AF got you - hope the royal jelly does the trick!

I am now 4+5 (the curse of finding out early - grr) but having some spotting very like previous mcs started so not hopeful. Nothing I can do but wait I guess...

Tabitha8 · 29/10/2008 15:43

Roque, the waiting game is pure agony. I really sympathise. It's awful. Trouble is, it's so important, that there could never be anything that we could do to take our minds off it . We can put men on the moon but no one can tell us how our LOs are doing.

Juicylucytoo · 29/10/2008 15:44

Fingers crossed RFL - I got spotting with my mmc and with my pg which went full term, so try not to worry too much x

Juicylucytoo · 29/10/2008 15:47

Welcome Ali4cotswolds - good luck with the persuading. No ideas. We're still trying for no.2 so no need to persuade DH yet.

It always seems to be the men who want to stop at 2, funny. A couple of my friends are in that position.

Tabitha8 · 29/10/2008 15:53

Ali4, you've just made me think that when I told DH over a year ago that I'd like to try for a baby, I don't think I ever asked him what he thought. Oops. . I just sort of told him and that was that. He didn't object, but I expect he was listening to footie on the radio at the time.

rowingboat · 30/10/2008 17:48

Hi all,
just checking in to see how you all are. Welcome Ali, not sure what to suggest as a means of persuasion, but can think of lots of things not to mention - nappies, sleep-deprivation etc... not very helpful really.
Went to a cloth nappy chat today as a volunteer and met several pg ladies - bless, they were all due quite soon (first babies) and I wanted to give them all hugs. Did not have one negative feeling, very suprised and pleased that it all went so smoothly.
It's day 21 for us and there are lots of coughs and colds floating around, suspicious slightly sore throat for me and very chesty cough for DS. It's too cold!!
Anyone doing anything interesting for Halloween?

fruitbowl · 30/10/2008 21:33

Hi everyone

Thanks FF and Rowing for your moral support. Feeling more positive in last few days. Getting ready for family halloween / bonfire party on sat.

Congrats Lillibet - a nice shock to have though!! Sending sticky vibes to Roque & Tabitha (even though it sounds wrong that, but you know what I mean!)

Welcome Aquarius - sorry to hear about your MCs. Must have been so sad for you. I too feel very despondent about the chances of getting pg since being given grim stats by a fertility specialist but I think all of us here know that it CAN be done and it's a great place for support, wherever you're at physically & emotionally. You sound in great physical shape- good luck.

Sorry if missed anyone out. I think it would be nice to do a new list including BFP's coz there;s quite a few now. What do you preggy ladies think? (wow it feels good to say that on this thread!!)

Off to think about pumpkin type decorations ... x

fruitbowl · 30/10/2008 21:35

BTW welcome Ali I thought at first you were asking about ways of persuading DH to BD with you! Sadly I'd be no good there either as my woo-ing these days consists of waving a box of pre-seed and a ovulation chart - soooo sexy!

rowingboat · 30/10/2008 21:39

What's wrong with that Fruit!
Don't forget the note pad and metronome and I think a cold bath or shower is good for sperm production, so plenty of those for the blokes and you will be preggo in no time.

FertilityFiend · 30/10/2008 22:10

lol Rowing and Fruitbowl - DH is already in a complete state of shock over my daily shag demands at the moment (pos opk and day 15 today ) I think a cold shower would just about finish him off!

Roque - how are you today? Sorry to hear about the spotting, fingers crossed that all is well.

Congrats on your pg Tabitha - hope all continues to go well for you

Hi Ali4

I think a roll call would be a good idea, being quite new to the thread I get a bit confused about who's who and where everyone's up to - though I think I've just about got my head around all the posters whose names begin with 'R' now, got v confused to begin with!!

rowingboat · 30/10/2008 23:40

Oh sorry, I forgot to tell you about having to change your MN name to one beginning with 'r' for this thread.

christie1 · 31/10/2008 00:58

I think women are being sold a bill of goods on this pregnancy after 40 thing. I had one baby at 41 and another at 44 (she is now 4 months and lovely and wonderful and perfectly healthy). Yes, there is a bigger risk of miscarriage (I had 2 ) but if you make it to a healthy pregnancy, things tend to go ok. As to persuading, never give up. Men always say no.

cece · 31/10/2008 08:06

Yes DH said no to me! Then after two umplanned pg and 2 mc he actually agreed to try properly. I am now 11-12 weeks - not sure of dates at mo. Have my scan on 5th Nov.

Wow lilibet, that is fab news!

RFL - hope the spotting stops soon, what a worry.

DS birthday yesterday. He was 5! How did that happen, doesn't seem yesterday that he was a baby!?

Curlylox · 31/10/2008 11:30

Ok after my last post on here saying trying to convince my DH to having our last DC......he smiled and said maybe! Yay for me still got to work on him though ;)
Good luck for those of you TTC and Congratulations for those who have :0

FertilityFiend · 03/11/2008 10:55

That's encouraging news Christie, big congrats!

It's gone a bit quiet, how is everyone today?

Well the madness of the 2WW beckons, am 3 dpo now. Not sure whether I'm hopeful this month or not, I thought we had done more BDing than usual around the right time, but looking at FF it's about the same. Annoyingly didn't manage to do it on Ov day, but did the night before so I guess that's a good thing.

Did get +ve opk this month, though I reckon you deffo have to test twice a day as I only got one proper positive (around 11am) - by 5pm it had faded quite a bit to read negative again, so if I had tested only at 5pm on consecutive days I wouldn't have got a positive at all.

Obsessed, moi

cece · 03/11/2008 12:37

I agree you do need to test twice a day. The month I got pg this time I had poistive results on three days! Although the third day was morning only and the first day was evening...

I also took 50 mg of Vitamin b6 during the 2ww as well. Not sure if that is useful to anyone or not!

rhetorician · 03/11/2008 13:46

hello all, time for me to come out of hiding...

ff I think we are about the same cycle wise - I think I ov'd yesterday, am on CD14 now, so technically 1DPO (wail, wail, I have no symptoms!!!), but Fertility Friend has yet to give me a red line to confirm. I have a cold (which allegedly is good in the world of TTC mythology), and am trying to be sensible. Like you, I had a great deal of hassle with OPKs as I think my LH surge tended to happen overnight and it was very easy to miss it. Not everyone can pinpoint them either.

Beautiful day here and I want to go and dig manure into my veg beds (I have an allotment), but instead I have to sit here and think about pronouns in Shakespeare (don't ask, please)

rhetorician · 03/11/2008 13:48

ps cece I can't believe that you are approaching the 12 week mark; will be thinking of you on Guy Fawkes day -

sue1967 · 03/11/2008 13:52

HI IM SUE 41 NOW GOT 5 PLUS KIDS YOUNGEST ONE KIERAN 2 YRS OLD ,BEEN TRY NEARLY A YR NOW HAD MISCARAIGE IN MARCH 08 9 WKS PREGNANT ,HAD D& C HAD I PERIOD THEN NONE FOR 3 MONTHS DOCTORS SAY START MENAPAUSE ,ANYWAY IM GO TO KEEP TRY ,WISH ME LUCK I FEEL I WILL BE NEEDING IT BUT I DONT GIVE UP THAT EASILY ,SUE

cece · 03/11/2008 14:18

rhet - go and dig your manure, can't you think about the pronouns while you do it!?

Yep, got 12 week scan on Weds. Starting to build up to getting some bad news (always the optimist!). I want to be prepared really just in case. No reason to think anything is wrong at all but then isn't that what a mmc is? I am somewhere between 12 weeks and 11+ 2 weeks, depending if you go by my dates or the 8 week scan.
