I've decided to start the new thread

Anyone coming to join me?

sussexoldspot · 10/10/2008 18:45

Oh tabitha! Good luck to you and Little Tab! It was only a week or two ago that someone was saying we need a few BFPs on this thread!

Talking of which, I couldn't wait any longer, girls. Have just tested. BFP. Again. Heart leapt, then sank again. Just have to wait and see now.

Tabitha88 · 10/10/2008 18:52

Sussex, there are two choices now. Enjoy it or worry ourselves silly and not enjoy it. Easy choice, methinks.

sussexoldspot · 10/10/2008 19:16

Me too! Worry myself sill every day!

sussexoldspot · 10/10/2008 19:16

God knows what I meant just then. Am a bit befuddled ...

Juicylucytoo · 10/10/2008 19:59

Congrats Tab. Right attitude. Enjoy every second.

Hope you have a fab stress free pg.

Here we're bd'ing every day at the mo. (bloody exhausting )
That's the plan for this ov (day 15, which was yesterday). Did days 12, 13, 14, 15, and will do 16 and 17. May try different tack (every other day) next mth if no joy. Will start 2ww from tomorrow-ish.

Good luck everyone.

Exhausted of East London

Juicylucytoo · 10/10/2008 20:00

Sussex - have only just read your BFP too. Wicked

Oh how fab. Lots of BFP's. Bring em on

cece · 10/10/2008 20:14

Many congratulations to sussex and tabitha

Tabitha88 · 10/10/2008 21:09

Thanks, Cece. I expect the consultant was a bit surprised when he found out this morning. Especially as he'd told me not to TTC until I'd been taking the Aspirin for three months. Well, we are where we are, so it's too late now. I only hope he isn't too disappointed in me.

sussexoldspot · 10/10/2008 21:54

Thank you, cece and juicy - just trying not to get too excited.

Just been to Waitrose to get Aspirin

roquefortlover · 10/10/2008 22:25

sussex! tabitha! wow! Am as close to speechless as I ever get .
Meanwhile I am on CD 15 similar to juicy, managed to BD on CD 8, 10 and 12 but dh too tired last night, promised tonight but is now snoring on sofa ...grrr. Not sure when i ov'ed this month as CB monitor has been giving me highs since CD7 but no peak, and I am pretty sure from CM etc that I ov'ed around CD 11/12. I fear that the fact I got utterly drunk last Saturday night may have led me to cock up the weeing on a stick on Sunday a.m and thus missed it on the monitor . We shall see!

This is a very lucky thread atm, i shall have to frequent it more often...busy right now trying to decide whether to apply for a new job, Sod's Law dictates that if I do I will get pg so may be worth a try!

sussexoldspot · 10/10/2008 22:41

Ooh, roque, yes, go for that new job! I started a new one last Wednesday and love it, so sod's law has kicked in for me for the time being (she adds cautiously)

rhetorician · 11/10/2008 09:41

my goodness! I desert the thread for five minutes, come back and find it deluged with BFPs. Fantastic news for all - that's amazing. Of course I am worried now that all the BFPs for this month have been used up whilst also thinking that there's such good luck on here that I might be joining you soon (hopeful emoticon). But seriously, ladies, totally delighted for you.

rhetorician · 11/10/2008 09:51

also, I think this thread just proves that all those horrible horrible internet statistics about us erm, more mature ladies are total bollix. On the basis of the 10 or so of us who are regulars the number of BFPs suggests that the 95% of women's eggs are off line is nonsense. It's clearly that most over 40s just aren't trying. We might have to make a bit more effort (I think 3 cheers here for the heroic efforts of all of your DPs are in order), but by God we get results. I'm totally gobsmacked (but in a really good way )

Curlylox · 11/10/2008 10:18

Ok decided to stop lurking and join in. I am 41 and am feeling so broody but trying to convince my DH ttc for our last child. Good luck to you all.

rhetorician · 11/10/2008 10:30

welcome curly; you've come to the right place

xserialshopper · 11/10/2008 11:46

Congratulations Sussex and Tabitha Wonderful news. Fingers crossed for them to be stickies and ENJOY.

CD4 for me Rowing Our turn next month huh

Welcome Curly

sussexoldspot · 11/10/2008 13:46

Ooh, welcome curly! Good luck to you! Am quite new to these parts myself and this really is a great thread.

Don't worry rhet, if my past history is anything to go by, you'll probably get my space within two weeks (woe is me emoticon)

Catch you all later, have to go to Topps Tiles. Sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll all the way for me!

rhetorician · 11/10/2008 13:52

sussex - I'm sure that's not the case, and I don't really think that there's only a finite number of BFPs to go round! But you have to admit, we have been doing very well lately. I am glad to say that my days of tile shopping are over (although I suppose they will come around again)

sussexoldspot · 11/10/2008 15:53

I was only joking, really rhet. Am hoping that this time having a new job, as Roque says, will force Sod's Law into play. I have also tried to convince myself in the past that there were only a finite number of mcs to go round and that someone I knew having one somehow reduced my chances. What nonsense! My poor step cousin has just had one, I've just found out

There was a lovely, helpful, very young man in Topps Tiles. He was telling me that he and his girlfriend (also probably about 22 and impossibly nubile) had just got a puppy. This puppy has its own room (with underfloor heating) and he described to me its bedtime routine. Wow, I said, just like a toddler. "Ooooh, no" he said. "We're not going to start even thinking about kids for another 15 years at least". Grrrrrr.

rhetorician · 13/10/2008 09:52

morning all. I have piles of work, so I am clearly avoiding it by messing around here. On CD21 so heading into the really insane psychosis inducing part of the TWW. Not getting my hopes up as everything appears to be exactly the same as usual for this point in my cycle

daisy5 · 13/10/2008 10:14

Oh that is fabulous news sussexoldspot and tabitha. Congratulations. I felt like rhet come back after the weekend and there is a flood of BFP's. Must be those mists of mellow fruitfulness .

Let's all hold hands for the next few weeks. Are you going over to Knicker Checkers? I have been following it but they all seem to know each other well and mostly seem to be much further along or having babies. I was kinda interested in hanging out with others in the first trimester for a few weeks to get through this 'stressful' patch. What do you think?

Welcome curly.

daisy5 · 13/10/2008 10:21

Morning rhet. btw - what does TWW stand for - I can't find it on the acronym list. Has it been long that you've been trying or just recently started?

And rowing forgot to ask, what country are you thinking of going to? It was a toss up between Hungary or Czech Rep wasn't it?

herb - you had some promising signs didn't you - possible implantation bleed.

Now I really must go and do some work!!!

rhetorician · 13/10/2008 10:51

Two Week Wait, you know, the one that feels like a million years? And simultaneously makes you feel like you're wishing your life away. Well, this was cycle no. 6 of trying, but I my ov day wobbles about a bit, so I think at least 2 of those tries were badly timed. This one was OK I think. It's just very hard knowing that likely as not I'll be going through all of this again in another month's time.

But how are all the BFPs doing?

xserialshopper · 13/10/2008 10:53

Daisy5 why dont you start a Fabulous 40+ Knicker Checkers thread then when we all get out bfp we can come and join you?

rowingboat · 13/10/2008 11:17

Hi all,
that's great news with the bfps!!
Congratulations Sussex and Tabitha. Sticky sticky sticky vibes to you both!
Fab!
Sorry, it's been a bit manic here with family visits and work. After I got my AF I didn't bother checking in because it's that boring time of the month.
Have to go again, but will check in again later to update and catch up.
Hugs to all. I'm feeling emotional.
