I've decided to start the new thread

Anyone coming to join me?

OP posts:
rhetorician · 13/10/2008 11:23

xserial that's a great plan - keep the old gang together, eh?

herbaceous · 13/10/2008 12:26

Hi yall. Congrats to all the positive ladies. How remarkable.

Not sure my Brighton bonking marathon has paid dividends - only CD25, but can hear auntie flo's ancient red old banger coming down the road. And, embarrassingly, what I thought was implantation bleeding was in fact me cutting my ladygarden in a bike accident that morning!

Had my appointment at the IVF clinic last week, and as soon as she arrives, I've got to start the cycle! GULP. I had been hoping to be one of the many ladies your hear about who get pg just before they start IVF, but I fear not. Everything seems pretty standard for this time of t'month.

I'm really down about having to do IVf, for some reason. I suppose it feels like last chance saloon...

rowingboat · 13/10/2008 15:35

Herb - ulp! That sounds very uncomfortable.
I'm not sure why, but I feel quite positive about the IVF. I can't see myself getting pg any other way, the tubes must be quite bad because everything else is fine.
We are getting our money this week so can set up an initial appointment, but still haven't decided between Poland and Hungary.
Having a fed-up day today, it's day 4 and I feel really hormonal and poo!
Fingers crossed for everyone waiting.

daisy5 · 13/10/2008 21:05

herb - that seems really unfair after your gold medal effort on the coast but maybe there is something in the pipeline?!

A friend of mine had no luck conceiving over the years then had two beautiful children by IVF. I don't envy you but it certainly increases the chances - but I guess you know much more than me about it.
Hugs - Daisy

Juicylucytoo · 14/10/2008 13:05

Herb - ouch! Sorry about AF. What a bummer. All fingers crossed for IVF.

On the 2WW here. But was a bit rubbish. After much Bd'ing upto and including day 15 (OV day), was then rubbish and didn't manage it atall on day 16 and 17. DH and I both too knackered. DS seems to know when to play up at night to avoid his parents having any fun

No optimistic, but we shall see...

rowingboat · 14/10/2008 14:32

Juicy, that sounds good - what you managed. Even the most rubbish of sperm should live for a day or two so that covers you up to day 17 I should think.
Every chance. It's horrid when you start to feel grumpy about missed days isn't it. Makes it all pressurised and poo!
Last month was nice because we did the every other day thing and it was easier to manage and less stressy. It didn't work, but neither has every day.
This month I don't even feel like we are TTC because we are thinking so much about the logistics of the IVF and getting organised.
Probably will though! Difficult to break the habit after a year and a half.

herbaceous · 14/10/2008 14:57

Juicy - AF hasn't actually arrived, but I have a headache, feel sick and am in the WORST MOOD, so she can't be far away. I don't usually get PMT, but I've had it for about a week now. I lay in bed this morning bawling my eyes out, with my cat peering quizzically into my face.

rhetorician · 14/10/2008 16:12

Hi all - it's gone a bit quiet on here there's that many BFPs! I am on CD22 (9DPO) and have no symptoms at all. What this means I don't know - nothing probably. Pouring with rain and taxes (for me) just been raised in the miserable budget (don't panic, it's the Irish budget) so probably won't be able to afford ridiculous holiday if the baby plan goes south...

Tabitha88 · 14/10/2008 18:14

All quiet with me at the moment, I'm pleased to report. Half my blood test results are back (not sure which half and didn't know they were going to be in halves). Anyway, the person I spoke to didn't know what they meant so is going to let me know. I thought a simple "negative" or "positive" would've been sensible. Aren't I the silly one? Is anyone else just starting the Aspirin approach?

rowingboat · 14/10/2008 19:18

Oh dear Herb! I know how you feel. For some reason this has been a really tense AF feeling like staying in bed all the time.
You never know, it's when you least expect it that you get pg.
Rhet, I'm still here, and can't really imagine leaving. I was thinking today how I would be cross if the IVF worked and you guys weren't pg. You wouldn't be able to get rid of me.
Off for my dinner now - cottage pie courtesy of DP - deeeelicious.

Juicylucytoo · 14/10/2008 22:32

Well there's still hope then Herb. Let's not sing a dirge until the fat lady has rocked up(or something like that)

Here, also feel like crying, but just because among RL friends all close friends who had baby same time as me first time, now up the duff. Depressed and unoptimistic. pooh.

rhetorician · 15/10/2008 00:34

juicy - I know how you feel, but I guess we just have to keep at it. rowing I can't really imagine you leaving either - and all our BFPs seem quite keen to stay. I love having them around and don't want them to migrate to other threads. V. late, must go to bed

rowingboat · 15/10/2008 11:14

So that's it then. If anyone dares to leave this thread we will find them and bring them back! [manic laughter]
Sorry, that sounds a bit Norman Bates, but you have to stay and let us know how you are doing.
Juicy, I'm just coming out of the waaaah, part of AF - this is day 5 I think, or 6??? I totally sympathise with you and the pg friends. I keep telling myself this is not a competition and there isn't one winner and everyone else goes home empty handed.
Big Hug to you!

roquefortlover · 15/10/2008 11:49

Hi everyone, haven't been on for a while but completely agree that we should all stick around here whatever stage we are at - this thread is great!

Well, I have decided to apply for the job I mentioned a while back so am spending the TWW doing that. Excellent displacement activity!!

If I get an interview it will be next Friday which is also when AF is due - so if I am really lucky will get BFP and job . Am pretty sure I'm not pg this month though - classic PMT signs. Still, maybe Sod' Law will wreak its magic

to all our lovely BFP ladies - hope you are all doing well.

rhet and herb fingers crossed no AF for you yet...

juicy we too were a bit rubbish BDing this month - we did 8,10,12 and then nothing till 15. Not sure when I ov'ed due to messing up ov monitor by weeing on it randomly when hungover but think it was around CD12. Problem is that if we start on CD8 DH has sort of had enough by CD14 and tends to be a bit "not again" about it all (as do i if I'm honest). We shall see!

rowing sorry about rubbish AF - onwards, onwards (or whatever that is in Czech/Hungarian!)

And hi to curly

rhetorician · 15/10/2008 14:48

ah yes, the waiting game. Good to hear from everyone though. Off to lecture to the hordes and will try not to fling myself around the podium too violently.

Hugs to all

Tabitha88 · 15/10/2008 17:24

Hi all. My blood test results are all clear, so no clotting issues with me. However, the consultant says I need to keep taking the Aspirin. I'm seeing him again on Friday. Can't wait to see his dear little face peering at me, wondering how to get rid of me this time . Not sure what to ask him. Trouble is, the Aspirin is making me ill - a usual side effect. So, even if it enables Little Tab to be a sticky Tab, the pair of us are going to starve to death.
Good luck to all those going for a BFP this month and I hope that all those with a BFP are feeling better than I am. (We need a "feeling sick" emoticon. The green one looks suitable.)

Juicylucytoo · 15/10/2008 21:33

Rowing...all together one two three SOBBBBBB!!! And breath

You're absolutely right. It's not a competition and I just want to stress I don't get down when someone on the thread gets a BFP. Just the opposite. That gives me hope.

Feel more philosophical today. Just have to try harder

RFL - know how you feel. After Bding 4 days in a row (with 16mth old DS waking nightly at regular intevals) DH and I were absolutely knackered and had zero desire for more. Think will try every other day next month otherwise we'll never make it through.

Fingers still crossed for Rhet and Herb.

Bit pooped, so off to bed x

Juicylucytoo · 15/10/2008 21:36

Tab - Have you tried ginger biscuits? May help. It's great when Sugar is suddenly good for you

Juicylucytoo · 16/10/2008 15:23

Oh dear, have killed thread

roquefortlover · 16/10/2008 15:25

No you haven't ! I am just feeling a bit bleurgh today - DD has been sent home with stomach bug and am wondering if I am getting it too. That plus the PMT - lovely...

rhetorician · 16/10/2008 15:54

juicy you'd have to try a lot harder than that to kill us lot off! Just been busy, which is a good thing as it is distracting me from thinking about the fact that I am now on CD 25 and if anything is going to happen it already has, IYSWIM. I have absolutely zero sphamtoms (and ladies, please don't tell me that that too, is a symptom).

rowingboat · 16/10/2008 18:22

No not killed the thread, I'm here still. Having a terrible time though, my hormones seem to be all over the place and ever since the PMS started I have been getting more and more depressed. Still have energy, but I can feel this horrible feeling, as if something bad has happened, but I don't know what it is. It's really annoying me!!! I wish it would just bgger ff. I feel as if my hormones are on the wonk.
We are still going to TTC this month, but hope to have an appointment sorted out for November. Probably Hungary, but still could end up in Poland.
Can you guys help us decide pleeeease???
I think I need a pros and cons list.
We are almost there with the passports. I am ready to go, but DS has to have his photos signed by someone in a position of authority who has known him for two years - he is only three! I should ask his bank manager or perhaps his accountant. It's ridiculous, he only started nursery a year ago.
OK enough with the misery!
Tab, I really like the thought of a little tab with a little face. That's so sweet.
Rhet, that's absolutely true, no symptoms are quite common for pregnancy and not pregnancy. I hooope this is your month. You will have to think about reducing the crowd surfing incidents though.
Roque I have been wondering where you were - in a cave maturing or somewhere much nicer and less damp.

Tabitha88 · 16/10/2008 19:03

Ginger biscuits? Yum, yum. On my shopping list already!
Re the Aspirin, I was reading on the net last night that the 75mg Enteric coated pills only give the patient a 50mg dose (not sure how that works). So, another spanner in the works! All together now, SCREEAAMMM!!!
I've now bought some plain 75mg Aspirins, but these were an over-the-counter job at Boots. There must be something dodgy about them. Anyway, for anyone else having a dabble, it might be worth considering what type you're taking. I might mention it to my dear consultant tomorrow. It'll take his mind off things for a bit whilst I deliver the double whammy of asking if I may have another scan in 2 or 3 weeks' time (to see if I still have a Little Tab) and asking why I'm still on the Aspirin. Life's a riot .

daisy5 · 16/10/2008 20:55

Tab - how unlikely and unfair is that!!!!!

I am lurking around - just got letter from hospital re:scan and when I rang it turned out they were referring to the 12 week scan and not the early scan that my doctor requested especially. How c**p! Thank goodness I have a private one booked as a backup just in case.

Oh how I wish I had a private consultant at times like this.

How is it going? rhet on CD25 and herb roque and rowing PMS afflicted you think? I feel like I've had PMS for the past three weeks so here's hoping it's an extra long PMS in store for you too.

rowing - have you been to Poland or Hungary before? Is it Budapest or Warsaw (Krakow?). Did you say you are going to make a little holiday of it? I've been to both countries - I really like a lot of Eastern Europe - I once cycled through Romania. I guess you decide based on other people's feedback of the IVF clinics do you?

daisy5 · 16/10/2008 20:58

and juicy - well done on the bding front.

Remember that old saying of my parents generation 'lie back and think of the Queen' (meaning you were doing your bit for the country by procreating). Nowadays that might come across as very camp!!!!
