Hi everbody.

Just thought I'd let you all know how I'm doing. Am currently 9+4 so it's still sticking in there! Keep your fingers crossed for me though. Am going to have my first scan on tuesday then am booked in to have CVS the following monday. Feeling very nervous about having the test and just hoping that all will be well with the baby.

Don't give up hope Gem. You conceived before and there may be another good egg left! Fingers crossed too for Cece.

Welcome and good luck to all the newbies. For those of you who don't know me, I was 45 in August and conceived this little bean in July, having had an early m/c in May. Had dd3 when I was 43. She was first baby for DH. I was married before and had dd and ds in my twenties and dd2 in my early thirties.

Just telling you all this as I notice lots of you are mere striplings in your early forties and I don't want any of you to feel (or be made to feel) too old to be TTC!

Will keep you updated with my progress. Still finding it hard to relax and enjoy the pregnancy as there is a long way to go.

KiwiKat · 12/09/2008 13:14

Thanks for sharing your good news, Ladymac. It means there's hope for me yet! Am very much liking being considered a stripling ... Keep us up to date with your bean's progress.

xserialshopper · 12/09/2008 15:01

Sorry KiwiKat I don't have any idea why af is stopping and starting. Have you tried vitamin B6, 50mg to see if this will help with the stopping and starting (just a stab in the dark I'm afraid)?

I missed you as well gem2mum. I understand what you mean about despondancy. I think taking clomid can make you feel down. That said, I've got 20 clomid tablets left. I'm going to take 5 this cycle, starting tomorrow, 5 in October and up the dosage (self medicating emoticon) to 100mg and finish them off in November. If nothing has happened by end December I'm clearing out my ds baby clothes and toys and kinda giving up. I'm going to talk to my dh about it so that the grieving process can be done together.

Hi everyone again. Yes, isn't it a nightmare when you think you have the symptoms and then AF bloody turns up! Happened to me last month. I got over excited on cycle day 32 when AF hadn't turned up and was watching what I was eating, not lifting, drinking etc all to no bloody avail the next day. Humph!!

Back to the drawing board then eh? Fingers xd for everyone and esp you cece with your faint line, I hope is growing stronger soon?

x

fruitbowl · 12/09/2008 20:52

Sorry, posted before I read this page - doh!

Thanks for the general encouragement ladymac and fingers and toes crossed for your scan.

Ahhh xerial - I've thought so many times about how long I can keep DD's baby things too before admitting it's time to stop. Painful isn't it? I've even got a few baby boy clothes from a table top sale I helped organise - felt a bit psycho taking them home but still have them.

How do you make the decision to stop trying? Such a hard question... Thinking of you all x

cece · 13/09/2008 07:09

Morning all,

another faint BFP this morning. It appeared at the 5 min mark or just before. My main concern is that the line should be getting darker by now shouldn't it? and appearing sooner? With DS and DD the line appeared almost straight away and was dark like the control line. PG tests are the work of the devil - ahhhhhh.

And I know I should use a digital.... but what if it says not pregnant???

As for baby stuff - my loft is full boys and girls stuff!

rowingboat · 13/09/2008 08:55

Cece, it could just be the hormones are not very strong yet, if the line is still there that is a good thing. Maybe you should hold off testing for a few days, don't let it control you! Fight back!
I'm sending you stickies!
I wish I had a loft, I have loads of clothes under the bed in storage boxes, and all over the place in the bedroom. Can't decide whether to keep them, Ebay them or give them to a charity shop in a giant bag. We had far too many clothes in the first place, some still has tags on.
Hi Fruitbowl, it is difficult to know when to stop TTCing naturally. I think for me it's going to be after the IVF and any frozen embryo transfers (if we have any). We will definitely move to adoption then. I won't stop until we have at least one more little one.

roquefortlover · 13/09/2008 11:35

hello everyone, hope you are enjoying the weekend.

cece, how many days late are you?As rowing says perhaps it is just too early - maybe leave it 2 or 3 days and test again? It's so hard isn't it - i always say i will wait till AF is a week late to test but never manage it!

Lovely to hear from lady mac - so nice to have positive stories.

gem2mum, great to see you again - I'm like you, i often lurk when I'm feeling low but then when i come back here it always makes me feel better! Hope it's the same for you.

xserail, does it feel good - in an odd way - to have decided on a clear timetable? Sometimes it's the uncertainty of it all that's so difficult. We haven't kept any baby stuff - we thought we had stopped at 2, threw it all out, went for 3, said we'd stop at 3, threw it all out, now going for 4 . Oh well, good excuse for shopping if I do get pg!!

rowing, I really admire your determination! You will get there!

Hellos to kiwi and fruitbowl too, sorry if I've missed anyone. Right, must go now before dh comes back and finds me MNetting!

gem2mum · 13/09/2008 12:06

Hi all

xserial, well let me tell you that I hung on to all of DS toys and baby stuff for years and years, waiting for Mr Right to appear then finally gave up and got rid of it only to find myself pg 10 months later . Then I had to go and buy it all again!! So maybe drawing a line like that allows you to relax then it just happens?
As for when to give up, my time is near. Will just wait a few more months although DP would have us try into our 50s

Cece, what day are you? Surely its still good to have a faint line. Something is happening and you cant blame it on the soap now!

Ladymac good luck with the scan and CVS.

gem2mum · 13/09/2008 12:10

Hi Roquefort

laughing at your dh finding you on mumsnet. I always have to do my mumsnetting furtively cos DP seems to think its a waste of time, especially when I complain that I dont have any time

cece · 13/09/2008 12:42

LOL I have to be furtive about mumsnet usage too! DH can get quite annoyed!

Well I think AF was due anyday since Monday 8th Sept, but I have been quite irregular and it has been hard to predict lately. Probably to be on the safe side af was due on Weds 10th. So about 3 days late. However I have been known to go upto 36 days in the odd cycle. I think I am about 15 or 16 dpo.

I have spoken to DH now and I think I will wait till Monday to do my digital test. Then I can phone the consultant's secretary to sort out my first scan if it is a BFP.

rowingboat · 13/09/2008 19:55

Cece - have everything crossed for you.
Thanks for the encouragement Roque!
Ladymac, hope it all goes swimmingly.
Gem where are you in your cycle?
I'm sooo tired tonight, about to put the LO to bed. Talk later.

rowingboat · 14/09/2008 10:51

Hello everyone. Whatcha doing?

jassara · 14/09/2008 11:48

Hi everyone. Got the house to myself for a few hours Yeah! DH of on his regular Sunday round of golf, kids at MIL...so sod the house work, MN is more important!!

Rowing, I gave away all of DS1's clothes, toys etc when we moved house. We had been ttc for a while and I'd lost heart, so it was a good excuse to get rid of it. But.....5 weeks after moving in our new house..BFP! Had to buy everything all over again!

Ladymac, wishing you all the best for Tues!

Cece, hope you get the right words on your digital test tomorrow! It's so frustrating when the line is faint...I feel like getting a felt tip and drawing it on just to make me feel better

Hi to everyone else, hope you're all having a relaxing Sunday!

Well I'm on CD17 me thinks, and I already feel like AF is on her way. Think I'll have a short cycle this month because OV was very early. Hope OV'ing that early isn't a sign of the dreaded 'M' word starting!

rowingboat · 14/09/2008 11:53

jassara now that's cheating - the felt tip! LOL! If only that worked.
Yes, best of luck tomorrow Cece!
Jassara, that is a short cycle. Has it been irregular since the MC?

jassara · 14/09/2008 12:06

I have had one cycle that lasted 21 days, but that was after DS1 was born. I recon this cycle will be 21 days as I have a 12 LP and I ov,d on CD10. My cycles have been erratic since the MC but I have had 2 in a short space of time.

I'm gonna admit that....I pee'd on a spare Persona stick last night. What the hell I though it would show, I do not know! I think I was bored or I am a POAS addict....

cece · 15/09/2008 12:36

The digital said pregnant so guess I am!

jassara · 15/09/2008 13:01

Congratulations Cece!!!I bet it was nerve racking waiting for the words to appear!

cece · 15/09/2008 13:21

Yep, they took 58 seconds! Not that I was counting

roquefortlover · 15/09/2008 13:42

cece, hooray! So pleased for you !

cece · 15/09/2008 13:52

I phoned the clinic to book my booking in appointment and there are none available! So midwife is supposed to be phong me. It is the same one that dealt with me last time, so I am hoping she will do a home visit

xserialshopper · 15/09/2008 14:26

CONGRATULATIONS CECE

I was just thinking of you and thought to myself, let me just pop on mn and see if cece has posted So glad I did

OP posts:
