I've decided to start the new thread

Anyone coming to join me?

Hi rowingboat.

I just wish women would be more sensitive to others. The same very women who act insensitively were the ones complaining about others doing the same very thing. So, I'm quite baffled.

Anyways, the jealousy is understandeable. Just remember most women have a story to tell, and have been through difficulties conceiving. Some day your story will be told.

xserialshopper · 23/08/2008 19:16

Hi Herbs. Sooo sorry that af turned up what a bummer.

Thanks Saree for the yoghurt and banana diet plan - I'm thinking of doing it

I've just been lurking, not really posting much. I'm due to have my tubes checked out and cleared on wednesday. How do I feel? I feel like it's never going to happen. I'm going to get out all my ds baby stuff, have a good cry, and give it all away to charity.

saree1113 · 24/08/2008 05:38

hi, xserial...nooo, why?

I understand where your doubts are coming from but what our doubtful mind may try telling us is not always the 'reality'.

I know I'm new here and don't know your story, but I figure if you're going to go that route why not just continue to monitor your ovulation and have sex on what you know to be your fertile days but do it with the mindset that you're done with TTC. I don't know if this will make sense but .....

Have your tubes been diagnosed with blockage? I ask cause you write that you will have them cleared that day?

rowingboat · 24/08/2008 11:56

Hi X-serial, are you feeling nervous about the op itself or just worried that it won't make a difference?
I bet somewhere at the back of your mind you think there is a chance, otherwise you wouldn't be having the operation at all. Have you looked at some of the threads on MN about tubal unblocking, there are some really positive tales.
I hope it all goes very smoothly and with the minimum of discomfort and am very hopeful for you.

saree1113 · 24/08/2008 23:22

Yes, Vitex is very good for increasing the porgesterone.

I use pregnancy prep in the luteal phase which contains Vitex. I have a perfect 14 day LP cause of it and it can work for you too.

Other supplements that can help are Fertility Blend, Vitanica's Vitex which can be bought at www.vitaminlife.com

saree1113 · 25/08/2008 04:32

x-serial, tubal unblocking really does work. I've read enough positive stories too.

May I ask how were you diagnosed with blocked tubes? Through HSG or ultrasound? Did you have pain?

rowingboat · 25/08/2008 14:46

Hi Saree, I have had an HSG and have one definite blocked tube.
How long have you been TTC? Do you have any LOs already?

saree1113 · 26/08/2008 00:39

hi 'rowing'.

Is the doctor sure that your tube didn't spasm and just appear blocked. That happens more often than we read.

Figuring out how long I've been TTC is a job in itself. The baby dancing sex has not always been consistent or as much as it should have been. I had a few messed up cycles from taking Vitex in the follie stage too. But it's definetely been over one year.

LOs is 'littel ones'? This will be my first. Maybe I'll go for number two. We shall see. Yea, actually I'll keep going until I am like 52 and meno, ha!

saree1113 · 26/08/2008 00:40

May I ask how long you've been TTC? and everyone here?

saree1113 · 26/08/2008 05:39

I found this online:

Quote:

As a reaction to this test, the tubes may sometimes tense up and falsely appear blocked. Therefore, definite results can only be achieved if the examination occurs normally. If there are abnormalities in an HSG, a visual operation will usually be carried out subsequently in order to confirm or refute the results.

Amongst the possible side-effects are:

Cramp (comparable to menstrual pain)
Vaginal blood-loss (generally short-term)
Light-headed feeling or sometimes fainting for a short time (so-called vasovaginal collapse)
Very rarely, complications may arise:

Allergic reaction to the colorant
Infection
Sometimes antibiotics are prescribed to avoid infections resulting from the procedure. You may also be advised to take a painkiller (such as ibuprofen) before hand, which will limit any discomfort. One favourable ?side effect ? is that there are indications that an HSG actually increases fertility in some cases, especially if HSG oil is used instead of the water solution. According to experts, HSG may flush out the fallopian tubes, possibly straighten the tubes, stimulate the cilia in the tubes or improve the cervical mucus. Doctors are currently investigating this in closer detail.

Hello all!

Back from our weekend away. Relaxing but weather not too good. Been trying to be good. I am aiming for about 1300 calories per day but tend to be a little over...

Especially as we went out for a meal two nights while we were away! With wine

xserial - wow didn't realise your op was so soon... Good luck with it.

saree - hello, you know an awful lot about ttc! I am impressed.

rowingboat · 26/08/2008 11:55

Hi Cece, welcome back! It sounds as if you had a good time. 1300 calories, I would faint on that. I would personally go for 1500, slow loss, but you feel better. I used to do meal replacements at lunch time to lose weight - required little thought, but it was bars not drinks. I tried those slimfast bars the other day and they are groooo!
Saree, I am aware of the phenomenon, but it's quite difficult to say whether that was the case. I have requested a second opinion and another HSG, so just waiting to hear about that.

saree1113 · 27/08/2008 21:53

Hi, cece nice to meet you, we deserve a splurge now and then! Good for you.

..and thank you.

saree1113 · 27/08/2008 21:54

Oh, good 'rowing', keep us updated.

Oh and I came across this: www.squidoo.com/blocked-fallopian-tubes

It sounds like it's for real, what do you all think?

cece · 27/08/2008 22:19

Hi everyone,

Think I have lost about 6lbs this week but not 100% sure as I am using tesco value bathroom scales and last week I used the hospital scales (or rather the nurse did).

Not feeling so hungry these past few days so must be getting used to it.

I have been very virtuous today and labelled all of DS's new school uniform. Then realised he needs a PE t shirt...
[sigh] Only got DD's uniform to do.... There is loads of it as she has a proper shirt and tie for her winter uniform.

rowingboat · 28/08/2008 00:00

Cece - well done you! I think I may need to join you, DP had his birthday on Monday and it's been a cake/choccie frenzy ever since, plus visitors with cake over the past couple of weeks. My tum is a bit too big.
Also very industrious - the labels. Our nursery requested labels on DS's clothing, but I haven't bothered. I think school will be diff because they all wear the same stuff.
I remember coming home with other people's coats. Thinks...'this blazer is a bit tight'.
Saree I had a look at various alternative treatments such as massage, mayan abdominal massage and other bits and bobs. I'm not sure whether they work or not and it's a lot to spend.
I think I have the money sorted for IVF, hopefully one or two courses dependent upon cost, but almost certainly overseas.
So I need to work on that, whilst continuing TTC. Have been in touch with a chap in Hungary, who seems very helpful, but not much info on his clinic. I would get a two week holiday out of it as well, in Hungary, but at a rubbish time of year. Hmm, perhaps I should go somewhere warm, there's another clinic in Cyprus. [thoughtful face]

xserialshopper · 28/08/2008 16:21

It would be Cyprus for me Rowing - can't stand the cold

Well, I'm back. Feeling woozy still from the general anaesthetic. Consultant said that my right tube has been unblocked and everything is fine. He thinks he's going to see me in 3 months time, but little does he know that I booked an appointment for Sept 8th way back in April. He said I can start ttc straightaway but I think I'll wait a couple of days at least

Hi everyone else. How you doing?

Heron, hows things? Do you still lurk here??

Hows work Herbs?

rowingboat · 28/08/2008 17:20

Xserial - hi welcome back. We've missed you!
Good news it's clear, fantastic. Now go make that baby!! Do you feel OK? Was it painful?
Tell us about what happened!!!
I know, where is everyone?
It's day 15 for us and I did an OPK on day 12 which looked positive. I don't know what's going on, we managed to bd 10,11,12,13 and then it all went pete tong timing wise.
Tried to temp, but didn't manage a one, just can't do it, can't remember. At all!

xserialshopper · 28/08/2008 18:59

Hi Rowing. Thanks for the 'welcome back'. I think everyone else is on holiday.

I went into hospital yesterday feeling a bit aprehensive. I requested that my general anaesthetic be given by face mask, so what do they do? give me straightaway by needle! Fell asleep and woke up nearly 3 hours later - the actual procedure only lasted approx 20mins. I didn't have any pain afterwards, just felt (and still feel) tired and a bit 'off'. I have got some stitches by my tummy button and another small one about 6cms down from that. They're dissolvable stitches so should come out in the shower. The woman opposite me said she felt pain after her op plus the one 3 beds down from me was in terrible pain and kept on asking for more painkillers. I think (not 100% sure) that the pain kicks in when they have removed something from your tube.

So I'm now a woman with unblocked tubes - yeah!

Plus it's only cd11 for me, and I don't normally ov until cd16. So I'm gonna rest up and start the bd on Sunday (hopefully).

OP posts:
cece · 28/08/2008 21:06

rowingboat - impressive amount of BD ing this month . I think Cyprus sounds nicer too, and don't they all speak English out there?

xserialshopper - pleased your tube is now unblocked - and hope you now get some luck.

I think I had a positive OV test today and lots of CM so will keep DH busy.

rowingboat · 28/08/2008 21:41

You go Cece! Your DH will run away. 'I need some rest.'
Xserial - I remember on another thread, there was a lady who mentioned something which kept the tube open. Can't remember what it was.
Very hopeful for us all!
Can someone help me to do temping? I just can't seem to remember, are there any top tips??

cece · 28/08/2008 21:46

No top tips I just roll over and pop it in my mouth before I get up...

I do keep it on bedside table along with a notebook and pen. Apart from that not sure how I remember because I am not renowned for remembering things!

I think it does help that my two are older (7 and 4) so get themselves up and can even sort out a bit of breakfast for themselves, if necessary. So most mornings I don't get woken by a child jumping on me or crying to be got out of it's cot. Usually the TV being switched on very loudly downstairs...

rowingboat · 28/08/2008 22:06

Cece, that sounds lovely, children making breakfast for themselves. Is it very messy?
I think it is the fact that DS generally wakes up before me and then wakes me up by staring into my face and breathing heavily. Luckily, I am used to it, otherwise it could be quite alarming. If I could just wake up and lie there for a minute I'm sure I would remember.
Are you off to play your Marvin Gaye collection to get your DH in the mood?

cece · 28/08/2008 23:47

LOL - Marvin Gaye - LOL - in the mood for vomiting !?

Should really go to bed I suppose

rowingboat · 29/08/2008 20:01

Not a Marvin fan then?
Sorry, I think I logged off just after that last post, was frightened by the way time on the computer passes so quickly.
It's like 'IT CANT BE THAT TIME ALREADY!'
I'm just packing up today, as we are zooming off to the east coast of Scotland tomorrow - not sure if there is broadband!?!NOOOO!
Will try to talk and hear Rhet and Roque's news when they get back. I can't remember if Roque is away for two weeks.
