Hi All,

This is a difficult time for most women (and men) I think.

Certainly for me, I've waited a long time to get to this stage , having not met Mr Right until the age of 31. Now 34 and got married 2 months ago and now want to complete the family!

So, just started "trying" for a baby and due to my impatient nature, have already started using Ovulation Kits. (Probably not a good idea). I also did the Female Fertility Test and that seemed to have a good result aswell.

I was on Dianette for 8 years and came off of it 3 years ago. My cycles became regular again but every 5 weeks instead of 4. I had previously come off of the pill for 6 months and my cycles were regular, so I guess all this is a good sign.

Anyone else had similar experiences and fallen pregnant quickly? I know everyone's different but any good news stories help move us all along!! .

xx

Hi can i join in? I have just joined the website in my lunch break today and am already keeping my fingers crossed for crunchynutter! My DH and i started TTC (get me getting a handle on the acronyms already!!) in March this year, nothing yet but i am ever hopeful.

Its funny but i just assumed it would happen straight away, even though i know of loads of people who took a long time. And i am 35 so no spring chick baby-wise! It is one of those things where it seems that everyone in the world around me is PG (and all happening the first month of TTC).

I have just had a laparoscopy and have been told that save for a tiny bit of Endo i have perfectly healthy ovaries and should have no reason to have any probs. So wish me luck!

crunchynutter · 14/07/2008 15:54

ok ladies- i picked up a test after work )(have raced home!) They have sold out of first response though so i had to buy a cheap Boots own... thing is i'm worried that maybe (if im lucky and am actually pregnant
) it wont pick it up in early days? it says to use any time but that some ppl get results better in the mornings so do you think i should wait? theres two in the pack so i could test now and in the morning but i dont want to be upset all night if its negative i have to go back to work at 5.30 for an awards evening so i dont want to miserable- i really want to know tho!

do any of you know if the cheaper tests are as good in early stages?? xx

betty76 · 14/07/2008 19:30

Hi, im tryin to conceive. any tips

Bonifacio · 15/07/2008 04:46

OMG Cruncy! Just checked in after a mad weekend and your talking of testing!! Hope the test went ok! Or if your waiting till this morning - good luck!! ANd let us know asap!!

Bonifacio · 15/07/2008 04:47

Oh and Flirty! Get well soon!!!

DawnAS · 15/07/2008 09:50

Hey Ladies,

Hope you're all Ok. Well, what I thought was implantation bleeding (since I'm still 8 days before AF), the cramping definitely feels like AF cramps so I'm guessing no PG this month .

Go for it Crunchy, why don't you do a test?! At least one of us on our thread should be - ha ha!!

Hope all are well. I'm in Uxbridge for meetings all day today so probably won't be back on line now until tomorrow.

I'm going to buy a thermometer and start temping I think - don't hold a lot of faith in OPK kits. On the plus side, I had a long chat with my Mum yesterday and her cycles used to vary between 40 and 45 days each time and she had 5 of us easily!! She temped!!

Well, some progress with me i think. I had my final injection 6 weeks ago tody and yesterday evening i got some mild period pain cramping and what i assume is this EWCM i keep seeing people talking about! So i am assuming that means i am ovulating now. Tempting to dive in and start trying now but i have to wait until the meds are totally out of my system as there is high risk for the baby otherwise. But at least it looks as though my cycle is returning and with a bit of look i will have a period soon and can then officially start trying. I'd better go and find out which days your meant to get jiggy and all that as i am totally clueless!!!

bluestarlavender · 15/07/2008 14:28

Hi everyone,

Crunchy - have you done the test yet??? Or are you waiting.

I'm getting fed up of this TTC malarky, already and it's only cycle 1.

Anyhow, back to do some work...

BSL x

DawnAS · 16/07/2008 14:14

Hey all,

Come on Crunchy, what's the verdict.

So, still no AF for me, but still cramps. I'm keeping everything crossed now that it was an Implantation Bleed.

And asking a really silly question, but if it is an Implantation Bleed, does that mean that it's highly unlikely that the pregnancy could be Ectopic? Just trying to relieve myself of something else to worry about?!!

Hey BSL how are you today? Other than cramps and a pounding headache , I'm fine!!

B how are you in the lovely Philippines today?!!

Hi Summerbird and Betty.

Where's Flirty today?!!

I'm here!! Fear not, Dawn!
Just been so busy with work - SO inconvenient!! Plus DH is workign form home today which is limiting my MN time!?

So I'm about 5 or 6 days off the arrival of Af and for I think the first time in my life, I am quite excited at her getting here. I know this month was a write-off on the conception front, so I'm very excited about the next few months - feeling curiously positive. (This is unheard of an someone who has worried about infertility for the last decade! )

I've ordered some 2 for 1 OV tests from Boots and and am temping away on my excel chart (I hear the laughing, ladies, and I just don't care!! )

Hiya Fairy - welcome to our gang!

Crunchy - what's the result?

Bonifacio - howdee! I've signed up to start yoga inspired by you. First class next month. I will be useless and everyone else will doubtless be contortionists from Cirque du Soleil! Still...I'll give it a go... Must do more exercise before I'm PG and fat!

Dawn - how's the symptom diary coming along? Hope it's one of those big desk diaries so you can fit everything in!
You'll be asking for a copy of my spreadsheet next!

Bluestar - don't be fed up...I've a good feeling for the next few months for us! Just think and extra month or two means it'll be a late spring/Summer baby...then when it's school age it'll be less likely to piss with rain at birthday parties! Ever the optimist...

FlirtyThirty · 16/07/2008 15:54

Oh, and welcome Summerbird! Stick with us and you'll be PG in no time! x

DawnAS · 16/07/2008 16:00

Hey Flirty,

Well I'm certainly keeping my diary up to date - who knows, I may only need it for this month . In my dreams.....

There's lots of BFPs flying around on other threads so it's about time one of us got one!! I'm certainly working on it anyway...

Oh well, back to the grind stone...

Im sorry ladies! I'm still here but unfortunately its just me and no babies i was very sad (and a little confused although my dear hubby thinks he can explain all of my aches and pains very logically!) like dawn said before though, it is early days so i'm trying really hard not to be disappointed- infact i made a plan! I break up (For 6 weeks friday so i am going to start a healthy/babyfriendly diet and start swimming and yoga to lose this extra half a stone and im sure i wont be half as tired so we can get in even more baby making practise!

I was hoping my little ones were already here but i have cheered myself up with my baby health plan!

How is everybody else? Anybody had a good week?? xx

summerbird · 16/07/2008 17:03

Thanks Flirty, you made me laugh out loud at that one, i thought it was my DH who would get me PG but no it seems you all have the power!!

Crunchynutter - sorry to hear that, i had a false alarm 3 months ago, we had the next 5 years mapped out by the time AF finally arrived. Onwards and upwards for a summer baby next year. I am liking your plan!

Off home now for some BD!!

DawnAS · 16/07/2008 17:08

Hey Crunchy,

Don't worry, as we said, it is only the first month. It will happen for all of us I'm sure!!

I've still got a week to go and it's killing me!! I want to know - RIGHT NOW - if I'm pregnant. But I guess I'm just going to have to be patient. I'm refusing to test before my AF date!!

I don't normally suffer with being bloated, but this afternoon my tummy just feels fat!! You know when you get that feeling that you can't even suck your belly in, well that's what it feels like - don't know if that's classed as bloated or not...

thanks Dawn- i am going to try really hard to be healthy and positive and am just accepting that this will take longer than i had hoped! xx

crunchynutter · 16/07/2008 17:18

LOL a summer baby would fit with work so nicely too!! fingers crossed everyone then! we should get there soon- we deserve it!

FlirtyThirty · 16/07/2008 17:21

I'm also on a swimming, yoga, pre-pregnancy get-fit program! If this doesn't give me the kick up the ass I need to get my clothes to fit, nothing will! Want to be looking super dooper for those baby pics!

Hi all. This is me and DHs first ttc attempt for DC1. I have a bit of a weird question for you all....

Since we have decided to ttc (this is our first month trying), DH has practically needed me to force him to do the deed!! He says that though he really likes the idea of ttc, it is scaring him stiff! (or NOT as the case may be !!

Is anyone else having a keen but terrified DP who seems to have got stage fright??

Kalikaroo · 16/07/2008 17:37

PS - I've just signed up for fertilityfriend.com which was suggested to me on another thread. It seems a really good way to chart everything. Can highly recommend it!

crunchynutter · 16/07/2008 18:03

aww thanks! I saw something about fertiltiy friend and presumed it was a drug lol- you have made everything clearer! I shall look at that now! My hubby has a lower sex drive then me if im honest- i am happy to, erm, do the deed twice a day but he says he needs to 'build his reserves' lol. ive just got used to him now and settle for every few days! hes very affectionate, cuddles and massages feet/cooks meals etc! I dont think ive seen any changes since we agreed to try though... he wants to keep things natural so we are carrying on as normal but without contraceptives. Sorry if thats not much help i guess men are just very different to us ladies!

crunchynutter · 16/07/2008 18:10

Hey flirty you will have to help motivate me! I am far too happy cuddling my husband and eating chocolate for the gym at the moment so it is going to take a lot of willpower! I am hoping that a healthy me will make healthy babies though so its something i need to do! xx

Kalikaroo · 16/07/2008 18:11

Hi Crunchy. I think my DH has a bit of a lower sex drive than me, but we're usually fairly in tune with each other and we've found a happy medium. I think he's just a bit scared at the mo' and things will probably go back to normal once he's got used to the idea.

We're just trying to be natural too, to begin with. If nothing much happens in the next few months, we'll try to be a bit more accurate about it!

Fertilityfriend has been pretty useful for me because my cycles are all over the place. I have been recording the date when my periods start since I came off the pill 2 years ago, and it allows you to input those dates into the calendar and will calculate possible fertile times from them. I don't know if I will start recording my temperature etc yet - seems a bit to serious!

crunchynutter · 16/07/2008 18:15

i have just signed up! i am still waiting for my period though after stopping the injection so i dont suppose it will be much help just yet! its nice to feel you are a little in control though isn't it? I am a bit worried bout the whole temperature stuff too! it does seem very scary! I do want to hurry my body up though and really dont know what to do! xx
