Hi All,

This is a difficult time for most women (and men) I think.

Certainly for me, I've waited a long time to get to this stage , having not met Mr Right until the age of 31. Now 34 and got married 2 months ago and now want to complete the family!

So, just started "trying" for a baby and due to my impatient nature, have already started using Ovulation Kits. (Probably not a good idea). I also did the Female Fertility Test and that seemed to have a good result aswell.

I was on Dianette for 8 years and came off of it 3 years ago. My cycles became regular again but every 5 weeks instead of 4. I had previously come off of the pill for 6 months and my cycles were regular, so I guess all this is a good sign.

Anyone else had similar experiences and fallen pregnant quickly? I know everyone's different but any good news stories help move us all along!! .

xx

Morning everyone,

What a completely useless week on all fronts.

Went for work drinks last night and was feeling so tired and couldn't really face drinking. Was actually quite pleased as thought this might be a good sign (even though i know its way too early for such signs) until I woke up this morning with sore throat and rotten cold.

To make matters worse, TTC this week has gone nowhere fast, one of us was either out or too tired. DH out again tonight so feel like we've totally missed our chance for this month.

Was trying to be quite relaxed about the whole thing but thinking next month might have to go for the more scientific approach if this is going to happen any time soon!

Bonifacio · 11/07/2008 11:34

Dawn I had my first class on Weds, and as painful as it may be I actually enjoy it! I'm really trying to lose a little weight (I'm 5ft 2 and 8st 4 which is in the healthy bracket but its the heaviest i've ever beein in my life) before we get pg as I want to get into a good routine that I will try to keep up while I am pg, because they say that you shouldn't start anything new while you are pg so i'm starting now! I really don't want to be one of those pg women who takes the "eating for two" part literally!! Plus being pg is hard work it won't hurt me to be in good shape for it! Not that i'm enjoying a single minute of it tho0ugh!! I'm trying to eat healthy too but f*ed that up last night by eating a whole tub of cookies and cream hagen daaz mmmmmmmmmm

So now I have got back from yoga....again, I am going to go and ged ready for a night on the beers (I haven't managed to give up drinking)

I used to have dogs in UK but since we moved here we never got any and it wouldn't be fair on them being 30 deg every day. I had boxers they were beautiful in the way only a mother could love!!

Linwin I mentioned to my DP last night that I didn't want to be all millitary about ttc and he actually laughed in my face donned a superhero voice and said "My name is Bonifacio and I have a mission to complete" then carried on laughing. I think we both know that I would make it millitary more so than him but was there any need for the voice!! I think its best to try and keep it light as long as possible otherwise they don't feel the intimate part anymore and just feel the babymaking part and don't look at you the same sexually anymore, thats my worry anyway!!

I'm actually looking forward to every other night maybe even every night!!!

crunchynutter · 11/07/2008 16:49

You guys are making me feel fat he doc said im fine but i weigh more than all of you!! i am taking the 'eating for three' thing literally though (twins) and have been practising for quite a while! i used to be very tiny and very healthy until moving in with my hubby... hmm i seem to eat more and more..

Cold sore is also definatley stress- i have had to stay up late most nights this week either collating coursework or writing reports and i have to do 3 after school visits for work experience next week too- really had a horrible week and babies have actually been quite far from my mind im sad to say.. right now all im thinking is chocolate and wine..

i shall start the gym, diet, and baby making process much better next week once i have broken up from the hell hole!! xx

DawnAS · 11/07/2008 17:50

Hey Crunchy,

I'm with you on the wine and choccy thing - although still don't have any wine in!!

Although I have just ordered a lush chinese takeaway for DH to pick up on his way home from work - yum yum!!

Anyway, after a conversation on another thread earlier, sounds like I'm a few days after OV now and no symptoms at all yet, so not very hopeful about getting a BFP this month - oh well - onwards and upwards!!

B, heard this morning (sorry guys back to names) that someone from one of the bands around at the time of Rolling Stones (I can see them - I just can't remember their name - the one that was on Coronation Street that time - the ones that have reformed) anyway, whatever! One of their wives has just given birth to twins and one of them is called Lily-Rose what about that name? I thought that sounded lovely and very similar to Emily Rose without the Horror Film theme!! Keep saying it to yourself and you'll start to like it I'm sure!!

I soooo need this weekend guys - yum yum - soooo need that Chinese too!!

Hi Linwin, forgot to say Hi to you!! Hope your day has improved.

Lots of alcohol - I'm sure that's good for colds!! Well, that's my cure and I'm sticking to it!!

Not looking forward to that when I finally get PG - can't take any cold remedies - yuck!! I will be a nightmare! My DH may move out of home!!

Linwin · 11/07/2008 21:37

Hi Dawn, my day has improved considerably thanks to my old pal Chianti and back to back episodes of friends. Although its the series where Rachael is pregnant so there is no escape anywhere!

Bonifacio I totally agree. I am trying very hard to shield my poor DH from the worst of my obsessive behaviour but (un)fortunately he knows me too well! In fairness though, if things were left to him we might have a hope around 2015.

I heard the funniest thing today which I thought I'd share with you all. Apparently if you are TTC, the best thing to do is to hang out with lots of pregnant ladies - apparently your body adopts the "herding" mentality so makes it more likely to conceive! Who comes up with these statistics?!!!

Bonifacio · 12/07/2008 11:14

Hmm not too sure Dawn about Lily Rose, I think two flowers is a little much, plus I was hoping for something a little longer like 3 sylables, having a very short name myself I hated that I never got a nickname or a shortening. I do like the name my DP suggested Jennifer, but I'd hate people to shorten it to Jenny!! I love Jen, but people would ultimately use Jenny. But please keep with the suggestions, I couldn't highlite Sadie in my baby name book as its not in it I think I will have to buy one of those 50,000 names ones instead of my mini one!! any excuse!!

Crunchy i'm confused, are you already pg?? Or are you expecting to get pg with twins? They run in my family too so its a high possibility and as much as I would manage at the time I just think that I would prefer one at a time so you can really relish in their baby ness Don't feel fat either! I'm no saint, i'm off out for a curry tonight and last nicght I got so drunk I fell asleep on the bathroom floor and spent the nigh smoking!! I felt so shitty all day that I didn't actually get out of bed until 4pm!!

But OMG I can't believe I almost forgot to tell you! I met a woman while out tonight who read palms! She read mine and it looks as though I will only have one child! I've always wanted a really large family so was really really upset, do you believe that kind of thing or is trusting what a few lines on my hand say being too superstitious?

Hmm i'm going out tomorrow for a friends birthday and 2 of the women that are going are pregnant

Enjoy your Saturday everyone!! xx

crunchynutter · 12/07/2008 11:28

haha i'm sorry Bonifacio I am not pregnant yet but really want twins so i have been trying the postitive thinking lol hopefully if i say it enough it will come true! My nan has twins so there is a chance i suppose, keeping my fingers crossed! I was very miserable last night, got to play with a little baby though at my nephews school bbq and there was a little one there with the name ive ALWAYS loved for a little girl. I didnt ask my hubby about it before cos i love it that much i didnt want to hear anything bad about it but you'll never guess.... he actually likes it!!! He couldnt say it at first and would have to learn the spelling but he said it was nice- i am shocked

then again he could just be being nice as i was near tears about being fat (i think the stress is making me sensitive too- iv been very emotional this week!)

I amk now much happier though that we may have a little girls name just need to agree on our boy...

B i alos am quite sc4eptcal about palm readers and psychics- one day i believe and the next i dont see how it could be true! i like to believe the things i like to hear if i'm honest though... try my positive thinking method and you might be able to add another line... or baby... hehe

crunchynutter · 12/07/2008 11:40

Sorry- i may as well share!! the name is Saoirse- (Sear+Sha) Irish word saoirse means "freedom, liberty"

I think it's beautiful- he's not keen on it being Irish- but then he houldn't have an irish wife lol i just need a middle name that would link it to our surname better- (Im not too fond of our marital name bless!)

Bonifacio · 12/07/2008 17:43

Ahh thats such a nice name, although having to spell it out for people all the time and mis pronunciations could be a pain in the arse!! (forever practical me!!)

I think poitive thinking is a good thing definately better than palm readers etc!!

I have spent the night talking the ears off my poor DP about when we have children what does he think about abc etc! And have discovered that we disagree on quite a few of the parenting methods (he actually had the nerve to say he doesn't think women should breastfeed in public places as it makes people feel uncomfortable! and should do it in the toilet!! I asked him if he would eat his dinner in the toilet and he said that was totally different!! but all in all I think its about 3 things we disagree on and the rest we agree (he also thinks you shouldn't respond to babies when they cry straight away as they become too dependant on you!!) I should just put him in front of the MN firing squad!! Sure he would change his mind pretty quickly!!

Crunchy you should go and have a massage or a day at a spa or something and treat yourself you sound very stressed out!! It can't be good for you especially when ttc!

Off to bed now, very tired and am going to get my 50,000 names book in the moring!!

crunchynutter · 12/07/2008 19:07

thanks B i think its very pretty- i am hoping difficult spelling and pronounciation will make my lil girl a strong confident young lady who says it like it is- like her mom of course she may hate me forever but thats what middle name are useful for haha

My darling husband is going to take me out for a date tonight and i have finally ordered all the necessities for my sister in laws baby shower so I am feeling a little less stressed- I like Saturdays when there's not as much work to do! now we just have to decide on a boys name...

I'm glad you like it though, i was expecting a few funny faces but i like people to be individul so want that for my children too- and i'm very resilient to diapproval anyway lol it is nice to know somebody else likes it too though. Hope you are all having a lovely night xx

crunchynutter · 13/07/2008 12:25

Have i killed this thread??

right girls- its been over four weeks now, thats a month! there is still no sign of AF - is it at all possible i could be expecting? how would i know???? am i just being paranoid? Oh and does anybody know... is increased, erm, toilet activity a sign at all?

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend! xx

Linwin · 13/07/2008 13:18

Oh my crunchy thats quite an exciting thought! When was AF due? wondering how soon you can test?

Its only been 2 weeks for me TTC and we've managed to BD about 3 times so for me think its very very unlikely.

Do you have any of the other classic symptoms?

crunchynutter · 13/07/2008 13:39

I don't know!! i have been on Dp for 6 years so was expecting AF by now- it could just be my body waiting for AF but other ppl i have spoken to have said they returned quiet quickly (if not always regularly!) I am quite confused!

Her goes: I have had very sore boobs for about a week now, belly has been quite tender and have had lower back ache, sorry if this is TMI but i had really bad diarohea yesterday which never happens- feel ok so it can't be a bug, im very tired and irritable but had put that down to stress. often feel quesy but have not been sick.

Do you think im going mad? Could these just be PMT symptoms? i just figured (from previous experience) when PMT symptoms started AF is normally there within a day or two but there is still no sign and iv been like this over a week now. ppl don't usually know they're pregnant that quickly though do they? i could be four weeks gone AT THE MOST- and i thought it would be unlikely to conceive that quickly after stopping DP- what would you do? do you think i should hold on a few weeks or would you test? (sorry for the long ranting post!) xx

Linwin · 13/07/2008 15:30

I definitely don't think you're going mad!

Are these the symptoms you would usually have had from PMT? I don't get PMT apart from massive swollen stomach (in fact even this is probably an excuse for days of excessive chocolate intake!)

My friend had pregnancy symptoms within a couple of weeks and my sister had none at all so i think everyone's experiences are different.

The only thing is they tell you not to test until after your Af is due, but you don't know when that is, very confusing. Maybe its worth putting a quick call into your doctor tomorrow morning?

Depends how patient you are as well. I wouldn't be able to wait personally!

crunchynutter · 13/07/2008 15:48

thats the thing! I feel odd- but would normally advise people myself to wait for AF date lol ironic really! I used to get slightly tender breats just before Af but that was it- i seem to have alsorts going on at the mo! My husband thinks it's the drug working it's way out of my body so he thinks its wishful thinking! His sister found out she was expecting at 4wks then with second she was only 5weeks though so who knows!

First response are on buy one get one free at boots- i may get some and put them up for another week to see if theres any more signs! My husband thinks you should wait til its obvious but im scared if i am pregnant (and don't know) that my eating and drinking habits could cause damage- men don't think about these things! He thinks you have 9months so it doesnt really matter how far gone you are when you find out! if only it were that simple!

I am worried ill be tempted to test early though if i have them waiting! i have never been a patient person!

Linwin · 13/07/2008 16:12

Ah bless, men don't really get it do they. Why would you want to know as soon as possible what's going on inside your own body?!

I'm keeping everything crossed for you

p.s. let me know how it goes with having the kits in the house and not doing a sneaky test! LOL

bluestarlavender · 13/07/2008 16:41

Afternoon everyone!

Crunchy - when is AF due?? I think I'd be tempted to test with all those symptoms.

BSL x

DawnAS · 13/07/2008 16:43

Hey ladies,

Hope you've all had a good weekend!!

Crunchy, I think you should definitely do a test, you seem to be having a lot of the right kind of PG symptoms, it wouldn't hurt to test and since you weren't expecting it this month, it will just be a lovely surprise if you are, but not too disappointing if you're not - YET!!! Bear in mind what your DH said, but do one anyway!!

I have to admit that I've come on line because I have something a little odd going on too so wanted to get some advice.

Normally I have CM all through the month anyway, but I did notice it being different (like they say it should be) during OV time. However, I've just gone to the loo and sorry if TMI, but there was some brown/blood stained CM. It's what I normally get 2 or 3 days before my AF arrives, but this is a week and 4 days before AF!! Also had very low abdominal pain on the left side.

As I've mentioned before, my boobs aren't real and don't have much feeling so I wouldn't necessarily notice a change in them, although I have noticed that when I bend forward and my boobs fall forwards, I get a pain that almost feels like it's coming from under the arm... But of course because when you have a boob-job everything is moved upwards that could be something to do with it.

Any suggestions guys? The only other thing that I can think (other than it being implantation bleeding and me being PG), is that maybe my body hadn't settled into a routine as quickly as I thought and I've gone back to a 28 day cycle instead of 35!!

Confused from Devon.....

Oh and Crunchy...on one of the other threads I'm on 'Bonkers...' Mandy 73 found out she was expecting on Friday and she's posted all her symptoms with DPO...might be worth a look...

crunchynutter · 13/07/2008 21:38

Hi all- ok, i just met a friend but missed boots (id just decided to try a test as you have all suggested!) I think i shall try to pick some up from work tomorrow! I don't want to be disappointed tho- and my sensible part of the brain is telling me it is too early and they are probably just PMT/Body returning to normal symptoms but then the other side is arguing that i have never felt like this before!

I have told you all before how much i like my food too and cooking smells are making me quesy- i can eat ok its just the smell... thats usually my favourite part too!

bluestar thanks- i will check out that thread but without sounding too dumb what is DPO? i couldn't find it on the acronym list!

Fingers crossed for me tomorrow ! I dont want to be sad!!

xxxx

crunchynutter · 13/07/2008 21:40

i meant after work by the way lol not literally FROM work!!

bluestarlavender · 13/07/2008 22:52

Crunchy - DPO is days past ovulation

bluestarlavender · 13/07/2008 22:53

Oh and good luck for tomorrow!!

FlirtyThirty · 14/07/2008 10:54
