Hi All,

This is a difficult time for most women (and men) I think.

Certainly for me, I've waited a long time to get to this stage , having not met Mr Right until the age of 31. Now 34 and got married 2 months ago and now want to complete the family!

So, just started "trying" for a baby and due to my impatient nature, have already started using Ovulation Kits. (Probably not a good idea). I also did the Female Fertility Test and that seemed to have a good result aswell.

I was on Dianette for 8 years and came off of it 3 years ago. My cycles became regular again but every 5 weeks instead of 4. I had previously come off of the pill for 6 months and my cycles were regular, so I guess all this is a good sign.

Anyone else had similar experiences and fallen pregnant quickly? I know everyone's different but any good news stories help move us all along!! .

xx

DawnAS · 02/08/2008 15:03

Hi Guys,

Well, I went to the hospital for more blood tests this morning and the result from Thursday's showed that the HCG hormone was extremely low, so it seems that the PG has been in trouble for a while.

I starting having very bad cramps and bleeding last night which are still bad today so the doc at the hospital believes that I'm having an MC now . I'm just waiting for him to call and confirm that the HCG levels have dropped more, then I definitely know that's what's happening. The only good news is that it doesn't look like it's an EP so it shouldn't cause any future problems.

He asked if he would be able to leave a message on my phone, I said yes and I've now had two missed calls, both from the hospital but no message left, so a bit worried now about what they've found... Oh well, I guess I'll wait for him to call again....

dawn I'm really sorry-I am glad that you are staying strong. Hopefully you will know soon either way but I am still praying for good news for you xx

DawnAS · 02/08/2008 16:00

Hi Crunchy,

Well the Dr called back and I don't know why he didn't leave a message as it was as expected. My hormone levels dropped from 249 to 97 since Thursday so the baby is pretty much gone. At least I can safely take whatever pain relief I need now. Paracetomol isn't touching it so I'm going to try Ibuprofen instead...

Hope your weekend is going Ok.

dawn I hope you are ok-I know how hard it must be for you. Make sure your husband is looking after you and let us know if there is anything we can do to help you through this x x

DawnAS · 02/08/2008 16:54

Thanks Crunchy, maybe you could send a stork and we'll go back to the old-fashioned way of the stork leaving a little bundle at the front door!! And I don't mean a poo....

See, I'm already getting my sense of humour back. All this talk of trying again is making me feel more positive by the minute. I'm sure it wouldn't be quite the case if this had been sudden, but after this week, I really do think I was expecting it...

crunchynutter · 02/08/2008 17:02

that's really good to hear! It was a very quick conception and at least you have been told you will be safe In the future I'm hoping the stork comes my way too. I'm glad you are feeling more positive-it's hard to see in these circumstances but things often happen for a reason- you know it's not the end xx

summerbird · 02/08/2008 17:20

Dawn i was thinking of you all morning. I am really sorry, but am also relieved to see that you are keeping a positive front. I imagine that you are feeling like this as you have had a week to get used to it, but it must still be heartbreaking.

You take care of yourself and have plenty of Dawn time.

This little star wasnt quite ready to shine but the next one will be blinding!

Hugs from the summerbirds x

DawnAS · 02/08/2008 18:09

Thank you so much Summerbird. The last week has been so traumatic that in a way (awful as it may sound), today is actually a bit of a relief. I was dreading that my PG might be really unsteady all the way through, but now I know that there's been something wrong for a while (my hormone levels were already really low when they tested on Thursday), it makes me optimistic that the next one may not be like that.

So I've taken some more painkillers and I'm going to have a nice hot bath now (couldn't have hot baths before the MC 'cos apparently it's not good for the baby). I'll take my Danielle Steel book in aswell...

Ah Danielle always does the trick! I completely understand why you are relieved. Have a relaxing evening and do stay with us for chat. x

Bonifacio · 03/08/2008 05:23

Hi everyone!

Dawn so sorry about your MC, I had my fingers crossed for you. I can imagine it might be a relief now that you know whats ahppening and your not in uncertain limbo all the time.

Crunchy Sorry you and your DH were fighting. I hope that it is all sorted now.

Me and DP have talked a lot this weekend but don't seem to be getting to a conclusion. I know now that he thought I was putting too much pressure on and is pretty much terrified about having a child (wants to have children but is scared at the same time) he is a bit of a control freak so I can understand that. He says he does want to try but wants it to happen naturally and not plan BD'ing which I think is ridiculous because its just not that simple and I don't see how planning to ahve sex is a bad thing, so long as you still have fun while your doing it? But hopefully we'll arrive at some conclusion soon as he is still avoiding sex with me, which I have to say is the most bizarre thing, never been refused sex before its making me feel quite unnatractive and i've never felt like that before We have, other than this tthough had a good weekend, tried to relax but its not that easy. Anywho, enough of my rambling!!

Hope somebody's getting some this weekend

crunchynutter · 03/08/2008 10:28

aww b my husband is the same. Exactly to be honest! He hates planning sex or discussing cycles he wants it to be natural- which isn't causing any trouble yet AF still isn't here!I have to stop myself from being obsessive but that's why it's good here! He would die if I said. Ooh I have EWCM let's have sex!

I think it scares men but it doesn't take away from the fact that they want babies xx

summerbird · 03/08/2008 11:42

Well bonifacio at least you and DH are talking - that is a good start - good luck and try to relax a bit about it.

i got up this mornng on CD28 an felt good that there was no AF. Then i just go to the loo again and have some spotting - AF has arrived

My DH gave me a hug and said that in that case he is going to have to give me a good seeing to all month!!!!! He does make me giggle! Still it means that we can properly celebrate our wedding anniversary in two weeks time and drink that vintage bottle of moet we have

and in the grand scheme of things it isnt the end of the world. when i was upset this morning i thought of Dawn and how positive you are and it put things into perspective.

heres to a month of non stop BDing

DawnAS · 03/08/2008 18:37

Ahhhh Summerbird, sorry that AF got you - the old witch!! You'll have to move house before your next one so she parks her broom at the wrong address and leaves you alone!!

I've decided that I'm not going to work out OVing this month. DH and I have decided that we're just going to BD about 3 times a week (he's mighty pleased) no matter what time of the cycle it is and then we're bound to hit the spot!! Obviously we'll avoid AF time - well I do need a rest!!

I bought loads of nice negligees and stuff for our honeymoon which I never wore (and I was thinking when I got PG that I might never wear!!) so I'm looking forward to trying those out - then there's the Policewoman's outfit I wore to my sister's hen-night last year.... hmmm....

This may sound really weird, that I'm almost looking forward more to the build-up of TTC than actually getting a +ive PG test. After an MC, I think most people would just imagine that it's going to happen again. I'm certainly thinking that... So I've also decided that I'm not going to test until I'm at least 2 weeks or so past AF, because I know then that I will already be past the stage that I lost Pip...

B I hope you don't mind but I did discuss your scenario with my DH, to see if I get could get a man's view. He just said that your DP sounds a bit scared about having a baby. My DH said that he felt the same, until I was PG and then he was excited. I'm sure your DP will be the same.... If you can get him there!! Maybe start getting him drunk...

ok girls I need your advice!

BSL I think you have got me thinking about people being pg and not knowing and I realized my friend didn't find out she was pg with her third till she was 7months and that was cos of DP. I am now thinking of testing in the morning- my DH thinks I can't be until I have have AF but I have read about loads who have had a BFP without Af returning

I wouldn't think anything of it but last night DH commented on how big my (.)(.) looked especially around
Y nipples sorry if TMI! And they are still sore. I was watching a band last night too and was really off alcohol which isn't like me! My belly has been aching too and I feel bloated. Thing is I tested for similar reasons 3 weeks ago so have discussed with DH that it could just be surges of hormones after coming off DP- or it could just have been too early last time

So ladies-honestly what do u think I should do? I have mentally prepared for a no incase and have said I will not buy any tests again for a few Months if that is the case but. My hormones are all over the place! I've even got spots!(I never get spots!) sorry for long message hope somebody can advise! Xx

DawnAS · 03/08/2008 19:14

Hey Crunchy,

I did read that if you're not prone to acne, spots can be an early symptom of PG because of the surge in hormones. Unfortunately I suffer with spots anyway, although they were worse through the PG.

I say, you've got nothing to lose. If you don't do it, you'll worry. So do it! I've heard of people that get a +ive result before getting their AF back. At least once you know one way or the other, you can carry on trying?!

OP posts:
crunchynutter · 03/08/2008 19:28

thanks dawn part of me thinks it is just surging hormones from coming off the injection but like you said I am trying to prepare for a yes or a no--and they were only cheap boots own tests so I suppose it's worth a try. I'm going to test in the morning! Xx hope you enjoy dressing up

Heebychick · 03/08/2008 19:33

Hi crunchy, i agree with Dawn, maybe it will put your mind at rest if you do a test? something must be a bit awry for you to be feeling so yuk (bloated and spots etc)

What did your Dr say about what to expect?

Let us know what happens x

heverhoney1 · 03/08/2008 19:43

will have my fingers crossed for you crunchy xxxx
