Hi guys
Here is the lovely new thread. Maybe we might get some newbies as well?!?!?

Oh ChocEclair-it was something you had to do so don't feel bad/daft.

Crap night last night-woke up wide awake as usual at 3-30am so took my temp which was the lowest ever. DH got up with hayfever at 4-30am then DD2 started shouting mama. Ended up getting up and bathing them at 7-30am. Went downstairs and found DH asleep. Did a test and BFN so just waiting for the evil one.

Going to have a cuppa.

Hi - can I join you ladies? Am having my coil removed next week and dh and I are going to start ttc for no.2

I have pcos, so it took a while with dd, so am a bit nervous but excited.

ChocolateEclair · 22/06/2008 09:52

cheers HC

Sorry you had a c**p night, not sure how temp taking works in the middle of the night though? Don't give up yet!

Welcome welcome to detoxdiva - don't be nervous! We are lovely, but a little crazy on here. You are right to be excited about ttc! And this thread has been really lucky - lots of preggers ladies sprinkling baby dust! - so fingers crossed for you! How old is your dd? Tell us a little about yourself???

Hi there detoxdiva-you have picked the right thread to join. The ladies are brill on here. Lots of luck to you and let us share your ups and downs.

ChocEclair-the temp thing is what I was reading about on FF last night. As long as you have had 3 hours sleep when you wake you can use that temp and alter the time on FF. You are not supposed to lay there 2 hours waiting for temp taking time like I have been doing. 36.38 is very low though.

Off to iron.

Aww hello HC & CE - it's nice to know it's a lucky thread - I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

A little bit about me - 33yo with 1 dd aged 2.5. Married to dh for 3.5 yrs but together for 8. No luck ttc for 2 years after stopping the pill, no periods and diagnosed with pcos. Discovered pg 2 months after wedding (dd clearly wanted to wait until dh had made an honest woman of me )

Looking forward to sharing all our ups and downs...

Our leader MJIM will be along later to meet and greet. Will be much busier on here during the week. Isn't it strange how our bodies change so drastically over the years? One minute getting PG is easy then the next time it is so much more of a challenge. Hope there are more ups than downs.

Waves to everyone else. Off to my nephew's B'Day party this afternoon with this tucked safely under my arm.

Hi to all the newbies - please stick around! We seem to have quite a few people join the thread and then disappear straight away!

Detox - good luck in starting to TTC - it is quite a big moment making that decision isn't it? And who knows, you might get lucky quickly this time round

HC - hope the bbq goes well - tis not raining here but very very windy!

CE - I am sure last night is just what you needed to get all your emotions out. So glad you are feeling positive and maybe there is something in what Babydrip said about TTC again straight away?

Am off to Boots in a minute to try and find a nail varnish - have got it in my mind that I would like a 'heather' colour iyswim - no idea why! Am trying to make the most of my super strong and long nails

Been to aerobics this morning then took DS swimming so am going to have a nap when I get back from Boots - DS gone to MIL's for the afternoon with DH so got the house to myself - lovely!!

Hope you are all having a good weekend.

Wow girls you have been busy!

CE, so glad to hear you?re doing OK.

Welcome Detoxdiva! You?ve come to the right place, this is a really supportive & honest bunch with lots of different experiences, good sense of humour & great taste in telly.

HC, I?m jealous of the BBQ, hope it?s great.

Ceebee, hope you found just the right varnish colour & enjoyed having house to yourself ? you?re worth it!

MJIM (Oh Great Leader), if anyone could cope with madness it would be you.

Just had our 1st house guests; the Loveliest Couple in the World. Brought cakes and bubbly! She is 8 months PG and I was dreading it a tiny bit but of course in the end it was just lovely. Now: Back to DIY.

Waving to everybody, not least newbies ? lovely with some "fresh faces" - let?s aim for a great new week, yes? x

hi everyone
welcome land of love and Detoxia.

CE we all need nights like that sometimes.

We have had a weekend of parties for DD. Yesterday in a boiling soft play place. Much calmer today-a camp building party in some woods which was lovely and a chance to catch up with some of my friends I do not see so often these days.
DDs party is in a few weeks. I have a minor twin problem. The party is in our house so numbers are limited. DD has a (strikingly beautiful) girl in her class who she wants to ask, but her twin sister is in the other class (incidentally she is also stunning). I cannot have both of them as not enough space. So do I invite one twin and leave the other out, or not invite either of them? Oh the dilemmas of motherhood.

Speaking of twins, not sure if any of you remember my dilemma with the neighbours when we were not sure if she had lost her babies. Well as someone said, it has all become apparent now. There was a funeral last week and a couple of days later a teddy bear made of flowers in the garden. I put a card through the door just to say we were thinking of them. It transpires she went into labour at 28 weeks and one twin died, but the other survived and has been in hospital since birth six weeks ago. No wonder we did not see them and the garden has gone wild-they have been at the hospital constantly. The baby should be home over the next couple of weeks. So what a sad and happy story. What a thing to go through.

Majormoo, party on! As for the minor twin problem I would probably leave out the twin that's not in your DD's class but perhaps check with parents first to gage if the 'left out' twin would be OK with it - surely one of the reasons the girls are in different classes is so they can form independent friendships?

Oh your poor neighbours. And as you say, it's also a happy story. Sweet of you to give a card.

Girls, I've just realized: If we do eventually manage to conceive & things go well I'd be a 1st time Mum over 35. Anyone know if that entails anything different in terms of the antenatal care? (More/different testing, stuff like that?)
Thanks. x

Evening ladies

Well, am stuffed but DH has just got a big bowl of cereal which he is stuffing.

My AF has been very considerate by visiting me 3 days early so can now count CD1 today instead of waiting until next Wednesday. Whoopee Do!

majormoo-how sad about the lady with the lost twin. The girlfriend of DH's work colleague was having twins and they had that twin to twin transfusion thing so she knew one would not survive. Very sad.

As for the other twin dilemma, I think I would invite both as they don't like being apart.

Love to all. Might be able to sleep tonight as the pressure is off for a couple of weeks. DH booked for a week on Thursday.

Majormoo I would invite both too...

Sorry to hear about af, LOL about booking the DH in!

Mandy your maternal age is taken from the conception date. I was 34, when I conceived and 35 when I had DS, I had a nuchal scan at 12 weeks, (which is standard at C&W) otherwise all antenatal care was exactly the same as any other first timer. So don't worry

Hello and good night everyone, v busy weekend and still no where to live (rental), am now getting officially worried, as I want to be out of here by mid August.

CE - thinking of you today (((hugs))). Hope you manage to get through ok. DH is going to be with you isn't he?

HC - sorry to hear about af coming early - but think of all the tests that you have saved . Sounds like you had a good weekend with the BH at the parties!

Soosy - hope you find somewhere to live soon, it is such a worrying time and you really don't need any further stress in your life!

Majormoo - what a sad story about the lady with twins. she must be so torn at the moment.
Not sure about your other twin dilema - my twin cousins loved being invited to things separately as it gave them their own identity, but when the mood took them they would be stroppy if on their own as they didn't have their twin with them!!

detox - welcome to the thread - good to have more people on board!

Mandy - I have been told that you are not 'old' now unitl over 40 as so many women are over 35 when they conceive for the first time these days. Nuchal scans are becoming much more common now so you will probably get one as standard.

ceebee - hope you got your nail varnish - can't wait for my nails to get longer so I can do the same!!

Feeling fat rather than pregnant at the moment and none of my clothes fit me but no way am I wearing mat clothes at 8 weeks ! Not sure what to do and I am sure that everyone is thinking - she lost all that weight about a month ago and now look at her.....!

Hello everyone

HC - sorry to hear about AF.

Majormoo - such a sad story about your neighbours' twins.

No news from me. Just trying not to think too much about symptoms and just see what comes this week.

DH has just left for the week and DS is in nursery... so in theory I should be making the most of it and getting stuff done... but a coffee and 10 mins on MN is calling out to me...

Just having a 10 min break myself inbetween grass cutting (yes, back to that again as no excuses now )

Anway, ChocEclair-that is really good news as I had to have a further 2 scans as bits were retained each time. There was talk of antibiotics which I didn't want as we wanted to TTC immediately. The worst bit of it all was sat waiting for the scans next to newly/heavily PG ladies cooing over scan pics. Then when one of the ladies that take you into the scan room asked me why I was crying I think I lost all faith in something (not sure what at the time). A mahoosive hug for you. {{{{{{{{{{xxxxxxxxxx}}}}}}}}}}

soosy-crikey, hope something turns up soon.

Wellies-it could be you Good luck!!!

Must get on as it looks like rain-gggrrrhhh!!!

HC - sorry the witch came to visit [grr]. 3 days early as well, how very dare she!?!? . 3rd month's a charm and all that? Cheers so much for all the kind things you have said, and sharing your own experiences, it can't have been easy. Have you got the grass mowed yet??? I am so lazy, i would get DP to do it!!!

How did your bbq go? The weather here is very changeable so was hoping it stayed dry for you.

wellies - still symptom spotting??? When is AF due? Am excited for you - deffo blame it on the heat! Keep us updated, and good luck!!!

bellie -are you 8 weeks now then? wow! It must be exciting to be even thinking about maternity clothes! I wouldn't go thinking you are fat and I'm sure noone else will be!

ceebee - hope you got the right nail varnish!! When is your ds and HC's dd2 going to meet then??? LOL!

MJIM - hope you are going to tell us all about your holiday soon! You sound very busy, hope you are putting your feet up a bit as well!

majormoo - hmm dilemma. I don't know much about young kids and their parents so not sure about inviting twins, how about discussing it with their mother? She might be keen for them to develop individual friendships?

And how truly awful for your neighbours. Glad you have sent a card. Maybe you could pop round once all the other inevitable visitors have died down? It must be a very happysad time for them.

mandy - how are you? What CD are you on? Feeling positive? . And no, I don't think they will think you are old!!!

soosy - hope you get a house soon! As if you need more stress right now! Any news on the appointment?

welcome again to all the newbies - I promise to be back to my usual chirpy self now! back on the old ttc bandwagon! Wey-hey!!! Good Luck to us all!!!

Hi all! I am still lurking but have completely lost touch with the thread!

Have had the weekend from hell. It started on Thursday when DS2 squirted Antibacterial Surface Cleaner in his eye which resulted in a four and a half hour trip to A&E a very sad and miserable child and then two further trips to the local Eye Infirmary. To top it off DH forgot to shut the babygate at the bottom of the stairs yesterday and the inevitable happended poor bugger has really been through the mill

Hi to all the newbies

I have just had a phone call from OFSTED saying that they are going to inspect me on Wednesday!!! A day and a half's notice ffs when you have had the weekend from hell.

Perhaps I wont mention the antibacterial incident or lack of shutting of stairgate ..........................

Much much laters!!!
