welcome back MJIM - thanks so much for your kind words and prayers. I knew you would come back and say nice things . This has been the worst week, but all the ladies on here have been fantastic (and I have thanked them).Glad you had a lovely holiday, hope you have got some more photos for us, and made some more family memories. We have missed you you know! Pleased you and bump are well ...exciting countdown has now started!

HC - you know when I got my BFP? The reason I tested was cos my temp dropped a lot on the day AF was due, so I thought it was def going to be BFN! Wanted to know for sure as was going to a party with lots of wine! You never know!

ceebee - very exciting! Did you find out if ds was going to be a G/B? Will you tell us when you find out???? Hope you got your car sorted out as well.

soosy - yes I agree, my hormones don't know what they are doing at the mo! Did a pg test this morning and it has now gone quite feint, so I am praying this is good news as far as Monday is concerned. Let us know when you get your appointment, ok?

DP is at work til 12 so I'm going to have a hair cut and colour then off to York later.

Have a nice day everyone xx

ChocEclair-keep up the temping as that does help to keep you on track. Hope the bleeding has eased and that you have a relaxed weekend. My AF isn't due until next Weds.

Countdown to scans them:

ceebee, majormoo and juanitad. So who is going to find out the sex?

Waves to everyone else.

I was hoping to TTC right after smear test scheduled for 9 July, but AF came in early today so will have missed ovulation by then

AIBU to want to TTC anyway and assume smear results will be fine?

Report
HumphreysCorner · 21/06/2008 09:21

Oh, I don't know Cote but hopefully someone who can help will be along soon. Would have thought you would have to wait until after the smear test before TTC as they do prod around a tad.

Must get my brain in gear and read messages properly-you are waiting until after the test. If it was me I think I would start TTC.

It's not the prodding that concerns me but:

  • the possibility that result may be skewed by pregnancy hormones (would they affect anything days after conception?)

and
  • if smear result is bad, how do I have the necessary operation when pregnant? will a 'coned' cervix carry a baby to term so soon after operation? what will they use for anesthesia? can operation wait until baby is born? will pregnancy hormones accelerate growth of precancerous cells?

(I've had this done before, you see...)

I could of course postpone TTC'ing for another month

Cote-sounds quite complicated. Have you asked in the health section? 'Tis always quiet on this thread over the weekend but more lovely ladies will be along shortly.

Hi Everyone
CoteD'Azur I would defintely wait until after the results of a smear, especially if you have had problems before. Pregnancy hormones can not only affect the result, but if there was a problem (which of course there most likely isn't) you would have to wait until after your baby was born for treatment. I have had treatment for abnormal cells in the past. After a pregnancy went horribly wrong a few years ago, I had to wait for results of a smear before we could TTC again. It was horrible having to wait, but once I had a clear result it was definitely a weight off my mind with TTC. When you have the smear if you mention the previous treatment they can fast track your smear. Or pay £50 to go private and you can get your result in 2 weeks

Soosy hope you manage to sort out the Lister next week

HC well, you never know

MJIM glad the holiday was good.

For those who asked, we are planning on a surprise this time, unless we cannot resist at the scan.

Hello all
Resisted the temptation on Friday, HC! I think it is better if I don't have any tests in the house until after AF due date. DH will be away on that day until Friday so we've made a pact that I won't test until he gets back, which is lovely and sensible but will be ever so tough!!
Symptom seeking like mad. And this is only my first month TTC. It will only get worse with time. Sigh.
Hope you're all having nice weekends.

Well done there Wellies with not testing. I feel so grumpy and AF feels like she is imminent. Boobs still hurt like mad but like you am sympton spotting. Perhaps by month 3 it might sink in that the symptoms are normal premenstrual ones. On the other hand.........

Good look to you for the end of the week. Depending on what my temp is in the morning will make the decision whether I test or not. I really need to cut the grass but daren't incase I do some damage trying to pull start the mower. Any excuse eh?

Have been to a 3 year old's party this afternoon because he is a tad obsessed with DD1 (nearly 5). Going to marry her apparently. Ate far to much so not only am I grumpy I am fat too!!!!!

Better go before I drown in my own sorrow.

That really is a good terrible excuse for not mowing the grass, HC!! (Love it and will use it myself!)

If it is any consolation, I am also feeling grumpy and it feels like the volume of the world has been turned to max (classic AF stuff for me). But, like you said "on the other hand"

Anyway, you have a wedding to plan, so that'll distract you!

I too am drowning my sorrows in cabernet sauvingnon. It's going to end in tears I think......

Well done on NOT testing, and not mowing

Quite liking the idea of a wedding - are we invited? Does dd1 like him back?

Wish I could fast forward a few days so that if AF is arriving I can get on with being on CD1. Pressure will be off for a couple of weeks.

ChocEclair-here is me mithering on about AF which is nothing. Don't drink too much or you may have a thick head. Having said that, the day I had the fateful scan I went to the pub with DH at lunchtime then hit the Blossom Hill every night and that is where a lot of my extra weight came from. Never lost it before I fell PG with DD2. Can't mow as it is raining. DD1 does like the little boy. He is the youngest of the mum who is 12 weeks PG so they were all cooing over her bump. I just managed to .

Ah, you mither all you like! I'm on a bet with DP as he reckons I won't manage the whole bottle

Don't worry though, I am OK, just need to get inebriated tonight for some reason, felt it coming on all day

Go for it-I could easily finish the whole bottle. You will be proud of me though-not a drop has passed my lips today and won't. DH bought me a bottle earlier and I will be hitting it tomorrow when a) my temp hasn't increased and b) I get yet another BFN.

We are watching the Holland v Russia game....yawn! What you up to?

Evening ladies

I am too watching the football although we are going to watch Doctor Who as soon as tea is ready.

CE - am sure MJIM will not kill you about the vino - if anyone deserves a drink it is you!! A bottle of cabernet sauvignon sounds just the ticket to me

HC - wedding plans already eh? At least it is DD1 as DS has his eye on your DD2

Wellies - your testing plan sounds like a good idea - I am like you that if I have tests in the house, I will use them!

DS not so good today - has had a temperature and ben quite lethargic all day. No idea why. Went to a 3rd birthday party this afternoon where they had hired a bouncy castle for the garden - and it rained and rained all afternoon The mum ended up hiring a party entertainer at the very last minute and DS was scared of him so we ended up in the garden in the rain anyway - great for DS's temperature I am sure

Am also partaking in a teeny teeny bit of alcohol tonight - have completely gone off white wine but have cravings for lager for some reason so having my weekly treat of a small glass of lager in a mo.....mmmmm!

Took 3 months both with the MC and DD2 so have another month to go! Have just read something really interesting on FF about temping. Over the last week I have not slept well especially with DH and his hayfever. Anyway, I have woken and laid there for sometimes up to an hour waiting for nearly temp taking time. This is very wrong and your temp should be taken the minute you wake as lying there awake makes it fluctuate. You then alter the time for that day. This has given me a glimmer (well, slight) of hope.

I have just put DD1 to bed and am wondering what else I can stuff down me. Was nibbling at the party so haven't had any tea. Peanut butter sandwiches might be calling.

Waiting for BB to be on.

ceebee-we had a bouncy castle in the rain at the 3rd B'Day party today. Got my nephew's 14th B'Day barbeque tomorrow. Rain forecast again. Enjoy your lager. I seem to think that was all I could manage when PG as my Blossom Hill was yuk!

Hi
oh chocolateeclair....ive only just popped on...sorry not much conversation from me at mo....i just wanted to say darling im so very very sorry to hear what has happened to you , darling you seem to be coping so well...its such an awful sad time for you....I know when we lost our little darling, without goin into too much detail one of the things my work did was got us a beautiful miniture rose bush...its in a pot in the garden, dh and i brought a small fairy figurine for the garden and they stand side by side, my 'thing' which also upset me that i had nothing to 'show' the little one had been there iykwim, now every yr we put little t.lites (one for each yr) on the date which was birthday and just have a little cuddle....our little one this yr sort of understood so we told her what we were doing...now she calls the rose bush and fairy .....the babies r.bush etc...very sweet and moving.....
another thing which we wasnt told at the time (prob cause i had complications and so much trauma.) but found out we should have ttc after next period again...as preg hormones still wizzing around....
darling i wish you all the luck in the world...take care my darling and give yourself time to grieve....
to everyone else...good luck darlings!
il try and be around but my healths a bit crap at the mo!
all my love and hugs

Urgh, my head hurts

Hi to babydrip, and thankyou. What a lovely story, thanks for sharing )obviously wasn't easy).

Sorry if I depressed you all last night. (Blame it on the wine). I only managed 1/2 bottle then it all came flooding out so to speak. DP again was an absolute gem, although I think he thinks I'm cracking up now! Actually, I feel a lot better today - so you will hear only positive things from me as of now!!! Have a great sunday everyone xxxxxxxxxxxxx
