charliesmum, nandos, beakas, sugr, cornflower, poppy, becky and everyone else who miscarried in may/june 2008....

We have all been very brave together and supported eachother. For those of us that are ready, it may be time to support eachother again as we return to TTC. Lets hold hands, remember our loss and give a nod to the future as we endeavour to procreate and............

SHAG!!

As promised, a thread to stay in touch. Will also see you on the MC avengers thread.

Well we set out to do the deed every day but by day 3 on the first month we were both exhausted and gave up and had a 'day off' but tried to resume the next day. We then 'only' managed to every other day but I got the flu at the crucial time so that stopped that. I didn't get pregnant that month. The next month DH got a bad cold at the crucial time and then went on a course for a week away from home so still no luck. The third month we managed every other day and bingo! After that I think DH was glad to have a rest - only the rest lasted 3 months. Poor thing.

nandos · 17/06/2008 15:41

hello everybody..
how is everyone doing today?
am still waiting for AF to come as had lower cramps and TMI,please dont read if it gross you out lots of CM some r light brownish/pinkish and texture like EW-CM . had cramps for a few days now.
just a qn for all of you?
when do we count the number of weeks to the 1st period after miscarriage? is it since 1st day of MC bleeding or after?
If i count from 1st day of bleeding, it would be 5 1/2 wks now without AF. if i count from 1st day bleeding stops, it would be 4wks.
Had ovulated 2wks back but its really weird if i am ovulating again today?

FYI, i dont think am pregnant cos' hardly do the deed
Sorry if i have too many qns...

sugr · 17/06/2008 16:22

Hello, thought it was time to join in again.

Had our meeting with the consultant today and the results of the post mortem was that it was just one of those things...no chromosomal problems or anything wrong with the baby just that at 15 weeks she died for some unknown reason.

This is good news as we can now go back to the IVF clinic and start again (though am hoping for the promised fertility boost this month to save me 7 grand )

AF arrived on the dot of six weeks so I feel that it is all sorted physically now and can move on.

Looking forward to this thread being a lucky one!

sugr · 17/06/2008 16:25

mummy2olivia, just read the whole thread and had to comment on "hiding the sausage". I had always wondered where this phrase came from as DH uses it and then saw an episode of blackadder!

Blimey, reading some of your posts about every day tires me out, glad I'm not the only one who only manages 2 or 3 times a month. All this TTC business did put the dampners a bit on my sex life.

nandos · 17/06/2008 18:52

hey sugr,
happy to see u here at last
and hurray for the AF cos' now you can start the TTC thing again..good luck on your IVF

BeckyBendyLegs · 17/06/2008 19:29

Can I just say that every day is by no means the norm for DH and I! Normally we manage about once a week, perhaps twice or three times if we are really in the mood when on holiday!

monkeybumsmum · 17/06/2008 20:28

Hello! Lovely to see you Sugr That must've been difficult getting the results, but at least you can start trying again. at £7000! My god. Never realised it was that expensive.

Becky, even once a week is pretty impressive!

Feeling rather amorous myself tonight, so am about to attempt to drag DH away from the bloody football. Wish me luck!

BeckyBendyLegs · 17/06/2008 20:59

That's like my DH having to drag me away from Big Brother (yep, I succumbed again - I can't resist it for some reason even though I know it is awful really). DH always jokes that he hardly gets any when Big Brother is on. Get the violins out!

nandos · 18/06/2008 16:32

Yippiee
I got my first AF today
so i can start my TTC and bding after AF finish lol
come n join me have chocolates hmmmm

mummy2olivia · 18/06/2008 20:12

You have all been very chatty!!
glad to see our new 'home' is busy!!

nandos and sugr can I be nosey?? remember you saying you had probs TTC- it took us 15 months too. Have you had any tests or investigations? what did they show? We have had SA done which was a bit low on morphology but high on count so apparently not a problem. Just wondered what stage you are at with TTC? Sugr, is it possible for you to get pregnant without IVF? Sorry to be blunt and nosey but after so long TTC I am fascinated by other peoples stories. Our story is- had not much sex for lots of months, then had lots of pokey for 1 month and got up the pole not very exciting or inspiring!!

becky and bum hope you are ok chicks??

I am still spotting a bit so daren't have too much pokey.

love to all xxxxx

hey m2olivia
am going to the supermarket soon so am writing quickly ..will be back soon.
the last time i was pregnant was 2 1/2 yrs ago but mc at 6wks(not mmc) and as you guys knew i got pregnant again in feb n mc in may.
so thats a total of 2 1/2 to 3 yrs of ttc.
had done my test at private hosp overseas and they found nothing wrong with me and dh was tested here and they found low motility but good count.same problem as you guys i think(dont know meaning of morphology)
so had clomid prescribed overseas and got pregnant 1st cycle...then mc.
so am now ttc without clomid (maybe for a couple of months) if not pregnant by then, im going to use it again.
fingers crossed
got to go ..will chat further later if u dont mind

monkeybumsmum · 18/06/2008 22:30

Hi nandos! Excellent news, here's to shagging lots (or should I say pokey? Love it!) Hhhmmm yum yum save some choc for me! Btw a friend of mine uses Clomid, but the month she fell pg she was inseminated (??). Am a bit confused by the whole thing, but it worked!

Hi m2o, just said hello on Avengers thread - was lovely to see your name there! Am doing okay thanks - confused though as thought I was ov'g at weekend, but now not sure I did. PIL arrived this evening for ten days (no pokey for us), so unless we are very lucky and swimmers can live for a while I don't think this month will be a goer. Hey ho.

Night all, am off to bed!

nandos · 19/06/2008 01:12

hello ..
can't believe im typing so late
just got home from dinner at NANDOS! (with unexpected friends) since supermarket is closed by the time we got there ..
MBM, the clomid thing is taken during AF itself and during ovulation, your friend might have gotten pregnant..that might be the case
re your PIL, why no pokey pokey? lol they r staying in a separate room aren't they lol..
oh maybe its the sound
well..stop here for today..

gd nite

monkeybumsmum · 19/06/2008 16:56

Hello dirty stop out - aka nandos Ooh did you have a lovely meal? Was it mexican? Yu-um!!!

Okay, thanks re clomid.

lol re pil's in our room they go to bed after us, so would be worried that they'd hear us or inadvertantly interrupt

How is everyone today? I can't stop thinking about ttc, so much for the not getting obsessed. Any tips on how to think about anything else?

nandos · 19/06/2008 17:31

lol MBM,
the dinner was nice
re PIL, tips for you:
1.switch on music/radio if you have in your room when u ahemm

  1. when they interrupt, ignoreee cos' they know when u dont open, its either of two things- asleep OR soomething else lol..
BeckyBendyLegs · 19/06/2008 19:04

I'm totally shagged out zzzz. No, not from lots of rumpy pumpy with DH (sadly) but from driving for five hours today. Good job we're not TTC officially and today is a key day as there is no way I can do anything right now except eat a big bowl of pasta and drink a huge glass of red wine .

I hope everyone is ok today. I've had a relatively good day, haven't thought too much about sad things.

nandos · 19/06/2008 19:20

thats good becky ..always think positive from now onwards
i am soo tired today from doing nothing maybe cos' my period is full blown today and i thought i just lost pints of blood for the 1st time in my life ..
hope everyone else is doing well ..

monkeybumsmum · 19/06/2008 19:52

nandos, you sound like you're talking from experience Will see if I can persuade dh to be a bit daring...

Becky, the wine sounds like a great idea, might see if there's some here. Cheers Bet you'll sleep well tonight!

I had quite a tiring day, lots of 4/5 year olds nearing the end of term and very over excited. Where do they get their energy from

Hope everyone else is doing okay?

nandos · 19/06/2008 21:00

rather quiet here apart from few of us ... wonder where they are ..hope they r ok
MBM, i do have quite a few experiences... kids,(not mine of course), parents, friends staying over.. its just too much lol and its not for a night or two that they are staying for..usually weeks, so had to find some other ways

HtheH · 20/06/2008 15:52

I am back! HAd the in laws staying for a few days. Thank god that is over. They left yesterday and now officially TTC again in celebration!! It is 3 weeks now since D&C, don't know if I have ovulated, no obvious signs. It took us 6 months to get pregnant the first time and then had miscarriage no.1 at 7 weeks, it then took a whole year after that miscarriage to get pregnant again and had missed miscarriage, D&C at 12 weeks, and that was 3 weeks ago. I am totally recovered physically, but just nervous of it taking another 12 months to conceive again and then it all happening all over again. I am feeling so much more positive though now, and it seems that all of you guys are as well. It is great being able to post on here and read all your stories. So busy at work at the moment that it is hard to find the time though. Have been drowning my sorries in the last couple of weeks with a bit too much wine every evening. Are you all avoiding alcohol as you try to conceive, or do we think a couple of glasses is ok? I didn't drink for nearly a whole year last year when we were trying it didn't seem to make any difference. What are people's thoughts? Happy babymaking everyone x

HtheH · 20/06/2008 15:54

I meant 'sorrows' not 'sorries'!

BeckyBendyLegs · 20/06/2008 16:07

Hi HtheH I try to avoid alcohol but had some wine last night and am going on a hen do tomorrow so avoidance just isn't going to be possible there. I try to drink decaf coffee as well but seem to have got back into the Pepsi Max / Coke Zero habit which I need to get out of again as that stuff can't be good for me. My AF is due sometime soon I guess so long as the deed wasn't done last weekend, which I doubt, but feel no signs of impending AF yet. Feel no signs of anything really.

monkeybumsmum · 20/06/2008 21:07

Hee hee nandos you naughty thing

Hi HtheH, lovely to see you back! It's so strange not knowing what's going on with your body isn't it. I so hope for you that it doesn't take long to become pregnant again, and that the third time for you is lucky. Can't believe you've been though all that, how awful for you. Re wine, I reckon a little bit is fine every now and then - for me I feel more comfortable with a glass in the first couple of weeks in my cycle, then I start to watch what I'm having.

Hi Becky, am with you on the caffeine thing - am trying to reduce cups of tea to one in the morning, but I am crap for drinking, and if I don't drink tea then I don't really drink anything, which is also not good. Funny re no signs of AF. Mind you I suppose anything goes at the mo with what our bodies have been through.

I've had a good day - went to see a homeopath this arvo. I thought she might be able to help me feel a bit more energised (am a lazy cow me ) and also am trying to think positive - wanted to ask about remedies for morning sickness in preparation for next pregnancy (touchwood). She was v good, but was more like counselling - I ended up sobbing! Feel much better for it now though, and even if the remedies don't work it was worth the money just to get stuff off my chest!

Hope everyone else is okay...

nandos · 20/06/2008 21:16

Am a good girl MBM! I don't drink and don't smoke ..maybe just a coke or two.
Am praying you will be pregnant if you dont have AF and also everyone else .. btw when r u supposed to have AF?

HTHEH , welcome
you remind me of myself ..our similar past of 2 MC and trouble ttc..
hopefully we get to see our little angels soon..
positive thinking everyone..i wish all the best..
lots of love to everyone

monkeybumsmum · 20/06/2008 21:41

Haven't got a clue re AF. Thought I ov'd last Sunday(ish) which would have been early for me, but now am doubting if I even have yet. Normally I have ov'ing 'signs' for about a week in total, and it was only two days this time. Am swinging from hoping I am pg, to wondering when I'll ov! Going slowly crazy

I am praying you will be pg soon too nandos it would be just wonderful. After all the heartache us girls have gone through we deserve a bit of luck. Hope yours is third time lucky too
