charliesmum, nandos, beakas, sugr, cornflower, poppy, becky and everyone else who miscarried in may/june 2008....

We have all been very brave together and supported eachother. For those of us that are ready, it may be time to support eachother again as we return to TTC. Lets hold hands, remember our loss and give a nod to the future as we endeavour to procreate and............

SHAG!!

As promised, a thread to stay in touch. Will also see you on the MC avengers thread.

What am I saying? Condoms?? Just the one I think! It's been a while since we've done it more than once in one session. DH says it's old age setting in.

monkeybumsmum · 15/06/2008 19:54

lol re old age Becky - same with us! We got a new bed last week and have christened that this arvo!

How's all the packing going?

m2o, lovely re holiday! Is good to have things to look forward to... Where are you thinking of taking dh? Are you going to surprise him? I love surprises

Will have a look at that website. I think you mentioned it before, but I have the memory of a fish, so you'll have to excuse me if I forget things!

Have a lovely Sunday evening all - just cooking sausages and settling down to watch Eastenders. On a sunday night - what's all that about

BlueCornflower · 15/06/2008 20:55

Thank you for including me in your thread! Feel really touched that you included me when I only posted a few times. Haven't had time to log on for a few days but I found you over here!

I miscarried at 12 weeks in Jan and feel really sad that I am still TTC. Never thought it would be this hard. Bought a Persona thingy and used that for one cycle last month. It showed me when I was ovulating so I know I got The Day right, so was really suprised when I came on a few days ago. Stupid, I know, as I know loads of people don't get pregnant even if they do do it on the right day, but I thought I'd be different!

My 4 year old DD keeps me happy but I so long for another little one. Even today she was cycling beside me and suddenly went all sad and said, "Mummy, I really would like another baby".

Oh well, let's try again for another month... I'll keep you posted!

BeckyBendyLegs · 15/06/2008 21:04

Packing? What's that then? Haven't done any.

Well we just did the deed and DH who is usually Mr Sensible, Mr Practical, Mr Common Sense 'forgot' to put on the condom. We were there, violins starting up and I was thinking 'any minute now he's going to stop and fumble about for the protection' and next thing I know wham bam we've done it! So I can legitimately be on this TTC thread now! I asked him about it and he said 'oh well, never mind!' that's so not like him! . I doubt this will be it though. Crumbs what are the chances of that!?!!?

mummy2olivia · 15/06/2008 21:13

Right now I've got 'sex fear'!!! Everytime we play hide the sausage my bleeding gets worse DH is clueless about biology and thinks hes poking bits loose??!!! Anybody would think he was waving a metre stick about!! So yeah, right now I'm bit scared of the shag. Am absolutely gagging, we had a good snog earlier and had to stop!!

Once the bleeding has stopped completely as in not even spotting we will go for it.

Am so sick of the sight of my own blood- its been 6 weeks of bleeding now

Ooohhhh Becky, how exciting! You never know........... I got pg a couple of weeks after my 1st mc, wasn't even thinking about it, and was sure my body wouldn't conceive after what it had just been through. Fingers crossed for you x

Hi BlueCornFlower, lovely that you've joined us. What's a Persona thing? I really hope it happens for you soon x

After having tried to convince myself that I won't become obsessed by this ttc business, since our 'session' this afternoon I am already wondering when I can test, hee hee! I am an awful one for testing, just can't seem to control myself.... (I do normally manage to wait until AF is due though )

Btw, I have to share a piece of info with you about lubricants (tmi?) Obviously I haven't a clue if anyone uses them, but I did read somewhere that lubricants like KY Jelly can kill sperm. We do sometimes use it, so am wondering if it delayed us getting pg before. Apparently Baby Oil is much better! Sorry if you didn't want to know that, but I felt I needed to say it just in case it helps...

monkeybumsmum · 15/06/2008 21:17

x posts - m2o, I sooooooo hope the bleeding stops soon. Do you think you've had AF then? Bless DH, they just don't have a clue do they

BeckyBendyLegs · 15/06/2008 21:18

m2o I heard that too but we use it sometimes too. I don't know if there is any scientific stats about it though. I've so far managed to concieve quite quickly while using it (7 months, 2 months, 1 month, 3 months).

mummy2olivia · 15/06/2008 21:22

Think have had AF. Bleeding from the MC was steady then just stopped. Had 5 days of no bleeding, had sex and it started again but got very heavy, friday was awful- very heavy, now its tailing off again. Had cramps and have had PMT so is very likely AF and the whole sex thing was a coincidence.

We used pre-seed, its sperm friendly and very slippy!

OP posts:
monkeybumsmum · 15/06/2008 21:23

Becky, was that meant for me? V interesting to hear about your times for conceiving. Can't remember if we used it when we got pg this year.

Just had a scan through my bookmarks and realised I'd saved the page for the study into 'oils and swimmers' (how organised am I ) check this out

monkeybumsmum · 15/06/2008 21:25

Does pre-seed come in some kind of pack that you have to insert? Have never seen it, it's just from what I've read on MN. DH not really into the whole ttc concept, would rather it just happened so if you have to insert it before then I think it would freak him out!

mummy2olivia · 15/06/2008 21:29

it is fiddley!! bit of a passion killer!!

OP posts:
monkeybumsmum · 15/06/2008 21:31

Hmmmm that's what I thought. Think will try to find some Baby Oil that isn't lavender scented. Do they sell it any longer?

BlueCornflower · 15/06/2008 22:11

Never heard the one about KY jelly not being sperm friendly. Oh dear.

Persona is a device that is actually a contraceptive but I know lots of people in RL and on MN who use it to get pregnant. Basically you wee on sticks and it tells you what days you are fertile and it should tell you what day you are ovulating on.

It's here 216.35.217.229/uk/index.php if that works properly...

BlueCornflower · 15/06/2008 22:11

Sorry - can never get that link thing to work nicely...

BeckyBendyLegs · 16/06/2008 08:19

Oops yes my reply was for you monkeybumsmum! Durrr.

By the way I am probably being really dim but what is RL? I keep seeing it mentioned here and there.

I've got these sticks which DH bought off the internet and I had to wee on them when I thought I might be about to ovulate.

nandos · 16/06/2008 10:17

Hello everyone.
had a rough day yesterday went out of the house and got locked out so had to call the locksmith to open the door which cost 90 pounds and he opened it within 2 mins!
anywayz monkeybumsmum = charlies..?
m2olivia, how r u feeling today?
i still havent got my AF yet nor have any PMS or anything yet..its been over 5 weeks since my MC..wonder when it will come.
btw today is my mom's birthday... am so happy for her

BeckyBendyLegs · 16/06/2008 14:51

Oh poor you! My brother-in-law is a locksmith and he is much cheaper than that! Reminds me of the two times when I've got a sock stuck in the washing machine and that cost me £90 each time.

I'm feeling bored today. DS2 is having a nap and DS1 is painting the outside of the house...with a bucket of water and paintbrush. He is very busy.

monkeybumsmum · 16/06/2008 16:09

Hello! Just got back from work...

BCF thanks for the link, will have a look. Hope it helps for next month!

Hi Becky, RL = Real Life. I couldn't figure it out for ages either Do you think the sticks that your dh bought helped? He sounds brill! Lol re DS1. Is he still at it? Bless him

Hi Nandos, poor you re stress of being locked out. £90. Ow. How can someone charge that much?!?!? Yes, I namechanged from charliesmum as had told quite a few friends in RL that I'd got loads of support from MN, and am worried that if they came on and recognised it was me that they will find out about us ttc again etc. Really want to keep it quiet!

Happy Birthday to your mum, are you doing anything special? Hope she has a good one!

Have you considered acupuncture for getting AF going? I must sound like a stuck record I've mentioned it that much . AF started for me 3 days after I had it. (Probs coincidence but who knows)

BeckyBendyLegs · 16/06/2008 16:23

We bought the sticks because we wanted to tip the odds in favour of a girl and DH reckoned, or the internet told him, that if you do the deed every day after the end of your period up until 2 days before you ovulate you're more likely to concieve a girl. So we'd have sex every day (yeah right!) until the stick showed that I was ovulating. So the way we were using it was a bit off the wall but I did get pregnant...

RL! Duuurrr! I am so thick sometimes! I thought it was some rival website to MN! I suppose in a metaphoric way it is!

DS2 woke up from his nap and joined DS1 outside with the paintbrushes and water. I have just stripped them off their very wet clothes and plonked them in front of the TV for a quiet half an hour while I clean the house (do normal people have to do this regularly? I am rubbish I only do it when the 'in-laws are due to visit - they are coming on Wednesday).

nandos · 16/06/2008 16:36

Monkeybumsmum,
will call u with MBM if u dont mind
Am still tired from yesterday but feeling better now. Mom is overseas and she celebrated with dad n brother gave her a gift last wk n she received it on saturday n was happy to get it
Re acupuncture, Noo way am gonna get any needles on my body lol. like someone said on MN, unless its really super necessary, then i might consider it, otherwise no
But today i felt like AF is coming cos' had cramps (but no bloating?)
is that normal or weird?
wheres everyone else?

monkeybumsmum · 16/06/2008 18:16

I class myself as normal Becky, and I never clean We luckily have a cleaning lady on Mondays (so house is sparkling today) and I really can't be arsed the rest of the week, unless something is happening. In-laws are coming Thursday this week, so might have a hoover on Wed..... Hee hee! At least your house will be lovely and clean from the outside

Nandos, MBM fine Hope it is AF!

We 'did the deed' yesterday after AF finishing last week. Thought I was no way near ov'ing, but then last night realised I seem to be ov'ing early! Will see what happens - am excited but v v nervous just in case we do get pg. Not sure how I'd feel.

BeckyBendyLegs · 16/06/2008 18:37

Oh you should see them now. I wish I could put a photo up here. DS2 is soaked to the skin (again! second change of clothes) and DS1 is almost as bad. They are now making mud with water and earth and DS2 is stamping about in it. They are having so much fun and it is nearly bathtime so I think I will strip them down in the garden and carry them one by one upstairs and straight into the bath!

My belly feels a bit weird, kind of empty and achy. Is this normal? It is quite tender. It has been like this for a couple of days. Hmmm.

BlueCornflower · 16/06/2008 20:20

I only ever clean the house when someone is coming round. As for the bathroom - well, that is my worst job ever. It usually looks cleanish but I wish I had the inclination to clean it slightly more often!

Becky - you didn't really 'do the deed' every day, did you??? I am really pleased if I get DH to manage it two or three times a month. (Could explain why this TTC lark is so hard...)
