charliesmum, nandos, beakas, sugr, cornflower, poppy, becky and everyone else who miscarried in may/june 2008....

We have all been very brave together and supported eachother. For those of us that are ready, it may be time to support eachother again as we return to TTC. Lets hold hands, remember our loss and give a nod to the future as we endeavour to procreate and............

SHAG!!

As promised, a thread to stay in touch. Will also see you on the MC avengers thread.

We're moving to Shropshire to be nearer my family and DH's parents are also moving up to Shropshire as well. That was the prime motivation. My mum and sister both live in Shropshire and my dad and brother live in Staffordshire (I grew up in Stafford). We can also get more house for our money there...living here in Oxfordshire is sooooo expensive.

I think m2o will be the first to go too! I have no gut feelings about my chances. I 'tend' to get pregnant very easily but it might not follow this time.

mummy2olivia · 29/06/2008 16:58

I cant go 1st you loons- DHs n*b end is about to drop off!! He wont let me near it.

And besides my track record is shite. 3 months to get up the duff with DD but her dad is one of these scumbags that drinks, smokes fags and weed and can still get a woman pregnant just by looking at her. DH is the sweetest man ever but his sperm need armbands and it took us 15 months to get up the pole with this one. Not fair is it? He so deserves one of his own- he treats DD like a princess. He is on loads of vits though and has cut drinking down to 3 units a week.

I was thinking though- he had the sperm analysis done a month after our wedding. Now, we did loads of drinking leading up to the wedding with having stag/hen do's (had 2 each) and tasting sessions at the hotel and meals out PLUS he spent our wedding night passed out on the bathroom floor from so much booze- my point is I wonder if that all affected his results? After the results came back in late jan, he went on a really health binge- good food, no drink, vits and gentle excercise and loads of water. I was pregnant by march. Reckon theres a link? I dont want to have another SA done cos I ended up getting worked up about it and sometimes ignorance is bliss I hope the healthy living did the trick and it works again. I really really hope so, for his sake.

If this is the case then yeah, put your money on me. In fact, f*ck it, I've convinced myself now- I'm off to order a pram!

Personally, my money is on becky- I saw your time to conceive stats and I'm tres impressed!

Not likely to be me at the moment. DH is in a strop with me. Just one of those stupid misunderstandings that escalate. He'll cool down later I'm sure but no sex for me tonight I think . The problem is that when something like this happens I want to sort it out straight away whereas he'd rather sulk for a while and then get over it by himself. I'm letting him stew but it is killing me. I just want to say 'come on, stop being silly!' but I know that'll make it worse.

I wonder if there is a link between lifestyle and sperm, I just don't know but they say so, those people who study these things. I'm sure it helps. I try to be good when I am TTCing and DH does as well but then things like Christmas, holidays and weddings do seem to get in the way.

I laughed at the image of your DH's sperm wearing armbands, m2o! Fingers crossed for you both.

Hello, i am a newbe but i have been reading your posts and feeling lots of support and excitment for all of you, i MC 3 weeks ago and although i could of sworn i OV about a week ago (and of course was in bed for most of that time!) i have in fact just started AF yesterday. Any chance i can join in on this thread please!??!

mummy2olivia · 29/06/2008 19:49

Of course you can!!!!

How many weeks were you heebychick? Do you have children already?

OP posts:
Heebychick · 29/06/2008 19:56

Fab!! thank you. So here's my story. We have a beautiful baby girl (16 months) and we decided a few months back to try for number 2, as we fell pg the first time so easily (1st try!) we (wrongly) assumed it would be easy the second time around. Well the pg was, we found out on day 32 after AF (although you know you just KNOW before that) then a week later it happened. So i was only 5 weeks but it was the most upsetting thing and totally unexpected. We'd started telling people - cos you think it'll all be fine seeing as the first one was but how wrong i was. So then i had to tell everyone the news - awful. Then about 15 days after the bleeding started (it had lasted around 5 days like a normal Af almost) i then thought i'd OV, i felt the pain etc so we 'jumped to it' but yesterday i started the dreaded bleeding. So being positive i'm hoping that this is just a 'normal' period and we can start properly this month... Sorry long story!!!

mummy2olivia · 29/06/2008 20:04

It is an awful, awful thing to go through. And I have found that the only people who understand are those that have gone through it.

Right now, we have all MC'd fairly recently so are trying to figure out where we are and whats going on so bear with us- sounds like you are the same. Apparently it can take a while for things to settle anyway.

I can honestly say that my body is all over the show right now- but apparently its totally normal. Perhaps you didnt ovulate and thats why you have AF now- I've heard you can even get to the stage of the egg is gonna be released and is all ripe and mature and your body will just say STOP.

Good luck anyway.....

OP posts:
Heebychick · 29/06/2008 20:10

Thank you xxx

Yes it's strange isn't it, the Dr told me to wait a month but we just thought 'let see what happens'and then at the 'normal' OV time i felt the normal pains etc but i guess it probably wasn't.

Also i started to feel nausea again this week (but would of only been a week since OV) so all the same feelings started flooding back - am i? could it happen so quickly? but then yesterday happened and like you i'm all over the show now, i have had pg symptoms for sure but now i have af a week earlier than normal! weird.

Do you think i should get an ov kit?

How many weeks were you? do you have other children? sorry i read lots of the previous posts but there were lots so i didn't get through them all!!

Good luck to everyone - i'm sending a big hug xx

BeckyBendyLegs · 29/06/2008 20:10

Hi Heebychick welcome to the thread!

mummy2olivia · 29/06/2008 20:18

I was between 8 and 9 weeks. I've got a 5 year old daughter from a previous partner.

Me and DH got married in Dec but had my coil out the previous december (2006) so its taken us a while and as I said earlier, only really got there after major lifestyle tidy up. When I think of the boozing, binge drinking and social smoking I did last year its hardly surprising I couldnt get pregnant. My eggs were probably pissed!! I think I had about 5 drink related erm...'fainting episodes' last year. What a piss artist!!!

"what did you do in 2007?"

"erm.....got shit faced?"

Ovulation kits are fine- BUT- and its a big but....they can make life very stressful and make you quite reliant on sex around ovulation. We found it handy to use them for 1 month to give us an idea of when I ovulate. But the best thing you can do is just have lots of sex and do it when and how you like. Timed sex is proven to reduce your chances.

Ask away- I am Zita Wests right hand woman

Heebychick · 29/06/2008 20:28

Tee hee! sounds like an ideal way to spend a year tho!

what did i do in 2007? nursed sore boobs and flabby post pregnancy tummy!

Nice.

Sorry about you bad year though - mind you sounds like you came out of it much better!

Good thinking about OV kits - best to just jump to it lots and not think about the timing eh!

I'm still confused about why i might of been getting symptoms after they went once i'd mc? weird.

Heebychick · 29/06/2008 20:29

Thanks Becky, have you sorted out your dh stropy-ness yet?

mummy2olivia · 29/06/2008 20:35

Oh yeah, becky, meant to say in my last post about your DH- my advice is get all dolled up, pair of granny knickers and a boulder holder bra, pair of tights, put 'careless whisper' on and offer him a lapdance. It will make him laugh and break the ice- bingo!! Dont worry, I'm not gonna go and work for relate just yet!

You can get pregnancy symptoms for a while after a MC. I was still testing positive til 2 weeks ago and my MC was back in early may

mummy2olivia · 29/06/2008 20:37

Can I make a request to everyone?

Will everyone make a profile and put some pics on? I'm getting obsessed with what everyone looks like! I'm guessing and am prob miles out!

OP posts:
BeckyBendyLegs · 29/06/2008 21:10

I'll have a go at the profile thing. Bit of a techno-phobe me but DH is an IT geek so he'll help me if I get stuck.

If I took your advice m2o DH would just die laughing!!! So funny. I'm sure it would work though

DH is happy now. He sorted himself out in the end (he went for a walk and came back happier). That's how he copes with disagreements. I just have to bite my tongue! Men eh?

monkeybumsmum · 29/06/2008 21:54

Oooh gosh, lots has gone on this thread this arvo - you have been busy!

Hi Heeby and welcome to our thread . So sorry to hear about your mc... It's just so sad isn't it. I did the same as you, and went round telling people v early - never seriously thought it would all go wrong
Very excitingly though my DS is the same age as your DD! Hooray! He was born on the 22nd Feb, when was your LO born? Would be funny if it was the same day!

m2o - you should so get a job counselling couples in trouble I love your advice!

Becky, that's lovely that you're all moving to be closer to each other. Do you get on well with the rest of your family? Hope it's not too stressful packing stuff up. It's so time consuming isn't it!

I already have some pics on my profile! Only a few coz the computer was being v crap that day and taking ages, but they are there...

Nandos - how are you doing?

BeckyBendyLegs · 29/06/2008 22:02

I think I am too many megabites. I've managed to get DS2 up there but it keeps rejecting my cat and DS1. I haven't even got to me and DH yet!

monkeybumsmum · 29/06/2008 22:05

Think you have to shrink them first - when I first tried they went on sideways coz they were too big, but if you shrink them it's okay. What computer do you have? Is it a Mac?

BeckyBendyLegs · 29/06/2008 22:07

It's a PC. I have no idea how to shrink them!

BeckyBendyLegs · 29/06/2008 22:10

Ooooh I've worked out how to do it. Hang on. Don't look yet I'm uploading!

monkeybumsmum · 29/06/2008 22:12

Oooh I'm v looking forward to seeing them!

Have just put another one on mine - took it yesterday.

monkeybumsmum · 29/06/2008 22:14

Ooooohhh I sneaked a peek! Your boys are gorgeous . Especially love the bottom photo - is stunning.

Couldn't see you properly as is on sideways, but you look lovely!!!!! It's so nice to see what you and m2o look like!

monkeybumsmum · 29/06/2008 22:27

Just seen the rest of them, they are brill! Your cat is beautiful!

Is that your house? Looks v nice...

Ooohhh lovely!

Am off to bed now, have a good Monday everyone! I am v happy coz I only have 5 days left of term then I get 8 weeks holiday Hooray!!!!!

BeckyBendyLegs · 29/06/2008 22:27

Right, done for tonight. I haven't worked out how to set the pictures straightwards yet but its a start! Night night all zzzz.

BeckyBendyLegs · 29/06/2008 22:31

She does take good pictures does our cat! I'm not happy with her at the moment though as I found a dead mouse under our bed last night. Grrrrr.

I've just looked at your pics too mbm - the first one is really cute and I love the laundry one!

I'm really going to bed now.
