TTC 4th baby at 38years old

Im trying to conceive at this ripe old age. Been 3 months so far. Period is due in 13days, praying it doesn't come🙏🏼🙈

Im not great with charts but mine did that last month, I had a dip then it raised for a few days then AF came.

Im 6dpo and my temp has sku rocketed. Its usually 36.7 ish in my luteal phase but its been over 37 the last few days and FF doesn't believe them 😂

Awh man… I was hoping it was a sign haha but my cm seems to have dried up a bit today so defo think af is on her way!

Been totally absent from this thread as life has been life-ing but I'm 12dpo today and just had a feeling to take a test!

Very early days but so happy to see a BFP this is the quickest I've conceived! At this ripe old age 🤣

Thank you @Kittybway! I hope so 🤞🏻 just got sore boobs and a bit emotional at the moment but not actually missed my period til Monday so still early days.

my af came yesterday. I’m not mad about it either because it was exactly 15 days from the day I thought I’d ovulated so I feel like that’s a good sign that im ovulating and that I’m getting my dates right. Gives me hope for next month. We only dtd twice last month so I can’t really be that mad.

the only thing I’m worried about at the minute is that I have a highly stressful job which is affecting me and affecting my sleep at the minute. I’m really hoping that doesn’t affect my chances!

Had some light brown spotting on and off today - these first weeks are so nerve wracking. Just hoping it doesn't turn into anything more than spotting 🤞🏼

That's good news @Wingingitlife that your cycle is nice and regular. I'm sorry your job is causing stress though, is it always stressful or just a stressful period?

I know what you mean @Wingingitlife once i started bbt charting I feel more confident and relaxed that im ovulating regularly. We dtd 2-O so don't think I'll concieve and feeling chilled about it. Im 8dpo

@Wishingforfourim sure the spotting will be nothing to worry about. I bled really quite heavily during my last pregnancy at about 6 weeks. There were clots and I was convinced I was miscarrying. I went to the early pregnancy unit for a scan and was told there was nothing to worry about and that I was having twins! 😂

I don’t know about you but I feel like I’m stressing soooo much more this time around than I did before. I feel like it’s maybe an age thing?

@Kittybwayyou never know! I didn’t think for one second that I’d conceive on my first cycle. I know it turned out to be a chemical but I conceived non the less. I guess it only takes the once 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m on CD3 now and feeling so impatient 🙈

Thanks @Wingingitlife the spotting has stopped and I got this sort of "dye stealer" this morning on a FRER so going to stop testing for a few days now and wait to book an early scan at 6-7 weeks.

I also had a set of twins my last pregnancy! Are yours ID or fraternal? Mine are ID so very unlikely to have a second set but there's a part of me that wants to double check as soon as possible 🤣

@Kittybway I think 2 days and 1 day before O are the most likely days to conceive I'm sure I read. Even more so than O day so you are definitely still in with a good chance.

My twins are fraternal so for me it’s likely it could happen again! 😂

I’m on CD10 currently, today I got my darkest opk I’ve ever managed to catch! It’s looking likely I could ovulate tomorrow or very soon. It seems really early? It’s still only month 3 for me but the last 2 months I’ve ovulated CD 16-17 🤔

How is everyone getting on? I’m 12dpo today… I have been absolutely convinced that I was pregnant, 7dpo had some brown spotting and then for the last couple of days I’ve been extremely nauseous and fatigued. Did a FRER this morning and stark white BFN 😢 absolutely gutted! AF is due on the 1st October so I guess it’s back to the drawing board. Hope everyone is ok! 🤎

Hey @Wingingitlifeugh I'm so sorry to hear AF arrived...especially after convincing yourself you may be pregnant! Are you usually quite regular? Wonder why it has arrived early.
The last couple of months my cycle has been wonky and I've experienced spotting quite a few days before AF! Last month I was spotting at 6dpo 😕 I had a HyCoSy a week and half ago. They said my tubes were clear which is good. Currently 3dpo on cycle 11 xx

@ChaE05to be honest I’m not really sure if I’m regular or not. This is only my 3rd cycle. 1st I had the chemical so I was late but I think I ovulated on cd18, 2nd I ovulated on cd16 and got my period exactly 15 days after on the day I expected it, then this month I ovulated on cd11 which I thought was early, and have got my period 12 days later so it’s been a 22 day cycle! Have you been seeing a dr in relation to your cycle? I don’t know whether I should book an appointment or if they’ll say it’s too soon as we’ve only been ttc since June xx

@Wingingitlifei don't think there is any harm in speaking to a doc regarding your cycle? As I think 22 days is considered short. When you say your 3rd cycle? Do you mean as in tracking etc?
Well I will now have a follow up appointment with the fertility consultant now I've had my HyCoSy so I will mention my spotting then. It makes me feel something is up xx

@ChaE05so it’s my 3rd cycle since I had my iud removed on the 23rd June. I haven’t really had a period since 2016 as I’ve had an iud since then! So I don’t really know what’s normal for me 🤷🏼‍♀️

did you ask for the HyCoSy? I might just make an appointment and see what they suggest xx

Hey I'm 38 ttc no. 3
I have a 12 and 5 Yr old.
Only have one fallopian tube due to an ectopic years ago when I wasnt trying.
It was first month without even a period with my eldest 🫠
9 months trying with my youngest.
And this is my 2nd cycle.
Luckily my cycles have kicked right back in and I got my +ovulation test on thurs.
(Going to try not test I only did the ovulation to check I was getting a peak as a bit wary being a bit older again!)
So expecting a very long 2ww!
Is it just me who feels more anxious about catching, keeping and general health of my egg/baby being older??? I'm not that old surely 🤣😬😳 but I can't shake the feeling.

Sorry af arrived winginglife! It does sound like things are a bit unsettled.
I had a chemical when trying with my youngest and it def messed the next couple of cycles.

@truecrimejunkiewelcome 😊 no definitely not just you!! I feel I’m completely obsessing this time around being 40, with my previous pregnancies when I was in my 20s I didn’t give it a second thought. Good luck with the ttc!

makes sense with the chemical messing around with the cycles. I’m hoping it’s just that and not me going into perimenopause 🙈🙈 xx

I think it’s possible that I’m a teeny tiny bit pregnant,10DPO.

Can’t quite believe the timing, I’d just thought maybe we should pause for a bit because life is so relentless at the moment and we are getting no time as a couple. I start a new venture tomorrow which I cannot take any time out from and I get hyperemesis.

Fingers crossed this tiny shadow becomes something and this little one is sticky so I have to change all my plans 🥰

@Mismatcamazing 🥰😍 so happy for you! How many DPO are you? Remind me how long you have been trying again...and did you wean in the end? Did you have any signs you might be pregnant?? Have you felt any different xx

@ChaE05 I’m 10dpo, I’ve never used contraception since my last baby hoping for a pregnancy (she’s 19 months) but my periods didn’t return until January. I never weaned but I did try everything you can imagine to bring cycles back and regulate them - spacing feeds, supplements, night weaning attempts, all sorts.

I feel no different. I was so ill last month that my ovulation was delayed and my LH was sky high when I finally peaked. My DH was away for the weekend so we only got one shot on the day before ovulation. I’ve been quite ready to accept it didn’t happen this month so barely symptom spotting. I did have some cramps over the last few days and wondered whether af as about to arrive

Hello, congratulations to the newly pregnant!

Hope you don’t mind me joining. I’ve got 2 DC, 7 and almost 5, and I’m 38 (39 in feb). I had a very traumatic miscarriage at 13 weeks last December (baby had stopped growing at 10 weeks) which ended up with blood transfusions/emergency surgery, and it’s taken me until now to feel ready again physically and mentally.

I’m still slightly on the fence about it as now worried the age gap with my DC is too big - can anyone reassure me on that? Kids would be 8 and 5 if I conceived quickly.

DH and I are both away with work (separately) during fw this cycle, so looking to start next cycle if we bite the bullet.
