Im trying to conceive at this ripe old age. Been 3 months so far. Period is due in 13days, praying it doesn't come🙏🏼🙈

@rolo3000 I have heard of people getting BFN's all the way up to being late and then it changed to positive so as they say you're not out til AF shows but I always call it at around 12dpo as I've never had a positive any later than that.

Hi girls, hope everyone is ok. Got from my holidays last night and done another test this morning expecting to see a blazing positive result. The line is just as light as it was on Sunday so now I’m really worried in case it’s a chemical. I’ve never had one before so don’t know what to expect but I’ve seen other posts where people’s lines haven’t got darker and it’s been a chemical. Anyone have experience of this? I know a few of you have said you’ve had chemicals before? 😢 I’m so worried 😞

Was it fmu ? could be that you were too hydrated?

Thank you, I’ve been to the docs today to book in to see the midwife so hopefully won’t be waiting to long. I’ve not bled and no cramps so hopefully worrying about nothing 🤞🏼

@Wingingitlifei hope you had a lovely holiday. I'm sorry to see you've come back to worry. I had a chemical in March and I wish I could give you a better news but I knew i was having a chemical as my lines didn't get darker over the week at all and I bleed a week afte my positive. I REALLY hope this isn't the case for you and I'm pleased you're able to see a doctor.
Bur what I will say is...I personally think your line is darker xx

Thank you, I do feel like it is ever so slightly darker but not as much as I was expecting. Fingers crossed I’m worrying for nothing 😞

Ah I'm sorry @Wingingitlife it's like the stress doesn't end even when you get that BFP! How many days late is your period now? Lots of things can affect how much of the hormone is in your wee and I've heard loads of people say their tests are only dark later in the day?

I know it’s so stressful! Don’t remember stressing or overthinking at all the last time I was pregnant. I think I tested once then just took it as that. But being older now is definitely making me think about it more. So according to my Premom app my period was due on the 1st so like 6 days late but I don’t think I was actually due until the 4th which would make me 3 days late!

Aawww @Wingingitlife i would be inclined to think that perhaps it is a chemical you are having. 😢 this is how mine started last year. I was 3 days late and I was getting faint lines. Then after about a week I started to spot and bleed. So frustrating. Hopefully it isn’t that, stranger things have happened. 🤗 xx

Just looked back to when I had my chemical last year and I was spotting for two days and the third day I was bleeding lightly and the cramps started. It was quite heavy bleeding on the 4th day it got heavier for 3 more days. You don’t have any shoulder tip pains or any pains at all do you? X

That encouraging then. Can you ask your GP to do some HCG testing over the course of next week for you then? They may agree to doing it x

I’m not sure how it works up here, it’s all changed since I was last pregnant! I rang to make an appointment but they told me to go in and fill in a form for the midwife. So I guess the midwife will send me out an appointment. Whereas you used to have to go to your gp first do a test and then be referred to the midwife. I’m not sure if I can just request a hcg test?

It can take a while to be seen by a midwife. They usually try to time your appointment so you are around 8 weeks pregnant. So could be another 3-4 weeks? You may have to wait it out if your GP isn’t very helpful. Our practice have been so good but this is my 3rd loss in 13 months so may be why?!

I’ve had a little bit of nausea on a morning after breakfast and an increase in creamy discharge, plus I’ve been super tired today (but that could have been due to being away for 4 days). I’m probably just going to have to wait (and hope) 🙏🏼

its hard to judge though, with my first pregnancy I had no symptoms at all until probably around 10 weeks. With my second I was absolutely ill from the day after my bfp, exhausted, morning sickness and heightened sense of smell, however that was twins! Xx

It is very hard to judge isn’t it. I was still having slight symptoms just over 2 weeks ago with my last miscarriage 😩 As soon as I started spotting I knew that was it as it’s not normal for me at all. Had a scan the following day and sure enough the pregnancy hadn’t developed upto 6 weeks. Although it’s upsetting and frustrating there is obviously good reason for it and most commonly that the chromosomes usually aren’t quite right.
Let’s hope for some positive news. My 3 year old got me through all the anxiety and worry and has been a real crutch for me the past 13 months. Hope you’ve got lots of distracting things that will get you through xx

Hopefully it will just be something that can explain it! Or you naturally have lower HCG levels. Have you tested again this morning? I understand about just wanting to move on. I’m just getting positive ovulation tests two weeks after my miscarriage. The last two weeks have flown though I’ve got to say. x

Sorry for all the worry @Wingingitlife I know what you mean about wanting to move forward, my period was 10 days late last month and I kept resting negative, just wanted to move to the next cycle already!

Unfortunately I’ve just started bleeding so I think that’s it for me this month I definitely think it’s been a chemical. I thought it was too good to be true to get pregnant first cycle. I’m absolutely devistated, it’s so cruel isn’t it thinking you’re pregnant then having it taken away so quickly! 😞 back to day 1 for me then. Thinking positive thoughts for us all this month 🙏🏼 ❤️

for those of you that have experienced a chemical did you try again as normal the next month or wait a month? Xx

I'm so sorry @Wingingitlife you're right it is so cruel. Hope you can do something nice for yourself tonight and rest. I don't think there's any physical reason why you can't try again this next cycle as long as you feel like it xx
