TTC 4th baby at 38years old

Im trying to conceive at this ripe old age. Been 3 months so far. Period is due in 13days, praying it doesn't come🙏🏼🙈

My bbt is rising now so think iv ovulated a couple of days ago. Im not going to test this month (she says 🫠🫠) we've definitely not been hitting the right days the last few months, I think iv been getting a lh surge then not O then a second surge but we missed it.

@BabyBorntrying not to get too excited 🫣 I go on holiday tomorrow so I’m going to take the frer tomorrow. I’m 2 days late so I’m giliessing if I am pregnant it will be positive as they’re more sensitive aren’t they? If it’s negative then I’m just going to try and switch off while I’m away then test again when I come back if still no sign of af 😬

That sounds like a plan @Wingingitlife huw long are you away for? A week? I took tests with me when I went away in March 🥴 they were negative though! What branded did you use this morning?

I know I really don’t want it to take over my holiday 🫣 we are only away for 4 days so not too long!

i used a cheap clear & simple early response from home bargains!

Don’t take any tests then. Just enjoy the 4 days and deal with it when you get back. 😀

I had #1 when I was 20 and #2 & #3 are twins I had when I was 29.

I’m praying it all goes to plan! I got my iud out on 23/6 so this has happened really quickly so fingers crossed 🤞🏼

@Wingingitlifeoh wow! This is amazing and gives me so much hope. I'm feeling so down and deflated at the moment 9 months ttc with 2 mc. My son was concieved first try. I'm 38 so this gives me lots of hope. I just need to keep going. I pray for a sticky baby for you! Hope you have a lovely few days away and can relax x

the wierd thing is that I didn’t feel pregnant at all but from about 6do my dog started obsessing over my belly, sniffing it and licking it! My partners first and I joked that he had sensed I was pregnant! 🙊

That’s strange! My dog did similar too! Started barking at neighbours when he’s not a barking dog! Growled at a plumber that came too. They definitely can smell the hormones. Let’s hoping there’s more of us that have the same luck in the next few months!!

I am 42 and ttc number 3. Had number 2 at 39 and took 7 months to conceive. Have been ttc for about 10 months and have had 2 conceptions in that time, but one was a chemical and one was a mmc. Hoping for a late rainbow baby to complete the family. Currently 11dpo and bfn.

Hi @rolo3000 and welcome. Fingers crossed we all have some luck over the next few months. I’ve also had one chemical and 2 MMC in 22 months. Just got the find that 1 good egg!!

@ChaE05 my last 2 pregnancies were conceived cycle 2 (aged 36) and cycle 3 (aged 38) so there's definitely hope!

AF has arrived 2 days early! This happened to anyone else before? Hope its just a one off. In to cycle 10 I go 🥲

Oh sorry it got you @ChaE05! What dpo did it arrive on? Could you have ovulated a little earlier than you thought?

I'm 10dpo today but tested yesterday and was a BFN. I know 9dpo is early to test but I just have a feeling I'm out I'm starting to feel the usual pre period dull ache in my lower stomach.

@Wishingforfour11 dpo so makes it only a 9 day luteal phase...not great. Just hope it's down to something like stress?

When is your period due? Still keeping everything crossed for you! But I'm the same as you..I always seem to know I'm about before x

Sorry to hear that @ChaE05 but going into a new cycle can be exciting too! Here’s hoping this next one will be the one for you! 🤞 have you tried vitamin B6? I’m sure that’s the one that helps lengthen the Luteal phase?!

@BabyBornso yes apparently vitamin c alongside b6 and b complex lengthens it. And I have been taking that for I'd say 6 months maybe more and it has lengthened it from 8/9 to 11!
Now you have said that, this month I kind of took them every other day as I was worried incase I was taking too much! Maybe this is why it's turned up early x

@ChaE05oh could be that then! Have you always had a short LP? I find it fascinating how some of us have little things to correct in order for a better chance of conceiving. Glad the B6 seems to have lengthened your LP for you. Here’s to your next cycle! 🍀

@ChaE05 sometimes our bodies do weird things! Hopefully a one off.

I've tested again today and BFN on a FRER I think I'm 11dpo but not due til Sunday/Monday but pretty sure I had a positive 3/4 days before my period with my other pregnancies so I know I'm out. I promised myself I would be less intense about it this time but it's so hard to relax isn't it 🤣

Will test again tomorrow just in case and then have a big glass of wine tomorrow night and on to the next cycle.
