Urgh my period still isn’t here!! Apps said Friday and still no sign - gah!!! Wish it would just come now as want to start the next cycle and apparently I’m due a smear - any advice about when ideally to have a smear when ttc??

@bigbird1234 when she told us I still hadn't gotten af and was very confused why my cycle was soo long...then just started crying when she told us..felt soo bad after sent her a message because I didn't want to upset her...just the emotions got the best of me 😔
oh that's a great idea I love DIY ! sadly I don't have much free time on my hands which is another reason why I think we are not conceiving as quick as I thought...I'm under way to much stress soo told hubby was going to take care of myself this month and not be running around as much to keep others happy but concentrate on my own wellbeing first

Are you sure you’re not pregnant??

That is so hard, but she will have understood.

your de-stress plan sounds good. I also recommend reading a super trashy book.

@bigbird1234well I tested negative on a clear blue and a cheapy yesterday 13dpo - like stark white no hint of a line so I really don’t think so!!

@Ec2808that is so rough. Watching people get their milestones before you and having to be excited is crushing.

It’s the hope that kills you. I’m an eternal optimist and I think in a way that makes it harder as I keep convincing myself even when there is plenty of evidence to the contrary!

My plans for when AF is due next month are big shop at Ikea/John Lewis, followed by difficult DIY/ furniture assembly. I will buy myself something nice if things don’t go to plan. Distracting but no need to put a brave face on for other people

Love this @bigbird1234! I did a similar thing this month - I mentioned to DP a few days ago that I want to try and think of something 'nice' to do if AF turned up so I had a positive thing to focus on. When it turned up early yesterday and I was feeling upset, first thing he did was make me decide what nice thing I wanted to do! And he'd make it happen.

So tomorrow is our anniversary, and I'm hoping I can clock off work a bit early, and we're planning a nice walk up some local hills, taking a picnic and going to make the most of the sunshine. And I can't wait.

Ec2808 · 19/05/2025 10:21

@peanutForever thank you soo much putting that as priority #1 this month ❤
Could be ovulation then saying as you had your peak yesterday ❤

Ec2808 · 19/05/2025 10:23

@bigbird1234 I told hubby i would be having loads of baths with glasses of wine this month bit of mom spa time 😂

sorry to hear that :(

WHY does this process send mixed signals that are designed to make us go crazy ?!!

He sounds lovely 🥰

I am going to add picnics and @Ec2808’s wine baths to my bucket list this month.

and blue cheese and rare steak, might as well enjoy them while I can!

FlyHighSky72 · 19/05/2025 10:33

Hi old friends and new, I've come from the May thread as CD1 today 🩸
This will be cycle 3 TTC baby #2 after two early mc late last year. First started TTC about a year ago. Was lovely to see some BFPs on the previous thread and no doubt there will be some this month too ❤️

ForGiddyDreamer · 19/05/2025 11:38

Hi All, I'm also on cd 1 today. I had a mc at 7 wks in Feb, followed by a chemical in March. We took April off so this is now cycle 2 TTC.

Has anyone who went through similar noticed their periods are very painful now? When I was a teenager I had such painful periods that I'd be off school. They evened out as I got older but last month & right now is so sore. Groin pain back pain and hip pain. Currently in bed with a hot water bottle. Glad I can wfh this week!

sounds like you’ve had a really rough time

On period pain, some months are worse than others - I get a wave of nausea which is horrible.

If yours is really bad and getting worse, have you been to the doctor to see if it’s endometriosis-related?

Ec2808 · 19/05/2025 12:05

@bigbird1234 good idea!! love me some rare steak 😂will be doing the same ❤

Ec2808 · 19/05/2025 12:07

@ForGiddyDreamer I feel like my cycles are not the same since my chemical in March. The cycle I had the chemical lasted 32days and I bled for 5 very heavily. Cycle after that I had a regular cycle where I ovulated CD 14 but af arrived CD27 this last cycle was again longer 30days...AF arrived yesterday and again very heavy...normally I don't have such heavy periods but since the chemical it has changed...

Ec2808 · 19/05/2025 12:09

@FlyHighSky72 I know how you're feeling I went through the exact same...normally have shorter cycles more 25-27 range this Month was 30days and AF arrived last night..will also be having a nice glass tonight something to look forward too ❤

Ec2808 · 19/05/2025 12:12

@peanutForever also going to get my hair done on the 30th also happens to be my fertile window will help boost my self confidence a bit for some baby dancing 😂

ForGiddyDreamer · 19/05/2025 12:20

@bigbird1234 @Ec2808 thanks for replying. I am sorry to hear about your loss too. I think it's mc related. My periods really settled in my 20s and 30s. Had the coil out last June & when they returned, pain was not bad at all. Like you @Ec2808 cycle length got long (35 days) but previous cycle ended 27 days. So getting back to normalish. I need to register with a doctor here (we moved to Ireland recently). I was seen by EPAU for the mc, not a GP.

My periods have got slightly heavier since I had my chemical in November too, don’t know what that means 🤷‍♀️

Ec2808 · 19/05/2025 12:27

@bigbird1234 @ForGiddyDreamer I know it's soo frustrating starting to feel like it has messed everything up 😔and it's tue that even the cramping is horrible compared to before where I never really had any period related problems...😫

bigbird1234 · 19/05/2025 12:46

I’ve seen a few things saying you’re MORE fertile after a miscarriage/ chemical miscarriage though, if that helps!
