TTC #4 at 39!

Morning everybody, looking for support/company in my TTC journey!
Bit of back ground info I'm 39 on Saturday so well aware time isn't on my side. I have 3 Children (19,12 and 6) and have had multiple miscarriages between those 3, last year I had 2 mc and a mmc at 12 weeks which resulted in a major hemorrhage and emergency surgery! We have been TTC actively since but feel very lonely in this journey 😢 Hubby is fantastic and very supportive but I feel speaking with people going through the same will help to feel less alone and less guilty that my body is failing me xx

Hi @Fluffy38very similar to me really. I’m 40 on Monday and have 3 children already. 20,12 and 2.5! We hadn’t planned to have a 3rd but it happened and we were made up. Since having her we decided to try for a 4th. Had two miscarriages since, last one was end of November and had to have a D & C. I feel that my body is failing me too. Going to give it to around May and give up. Xx

I'm sorry you have experienced this too! Iv just spent a small fortune on supplements and ovulation kits for last month and a fresh batch for this month (just had a neg test 2 days before AF due) after my MMC the senior midwife at epu sent a referral for me to see a gynecologist which isn't until May! We will keep trying until then and see what happens from that point. It just feels that the more you want it to happen the less of a chance you have xx

Same! I’m taking Vitamin C, D, E , Methylfolate, Ubiquniland Omega 3 supplements.
That’s good that you are seeing a gyne in May. I’ve had some basic hormone testing last March and they said everything is normal. Definitely feels like the more you try the more it doesn’t
happen!

@Fluffy38 thank you! You too! Honestly this last week has been an eternity and th thought of another week waiting for AF to come or not come is not the one..!
I’ve just ordered some frer and clear blue for a few days time 😊 but currently pointlessly testing on cheapies lol xx

I brought the vitabiotics max conception ones today as it is suppose to be good for women over 35 so we shall see! Hubby is on the well man conception too and to be fair it's given him alot more pep in his step so it's paying off for him! Its so refreshing to have other women going through the same and to know your not alone. All my friends are done having kids and can't get fathom why I want to do it again all I get is why would you want to sacrifice the freedom you have blah blah blah. Shame slapping people is frowned upon as that's how I feel sometimes lol xx

It becomes an addiction!! I get through the amazon wondfo cheapies like water through your fingers lol iv brought a clear blue early detection to confirm what I already know (I'm out this month) so I can safely have a few drinks for my birthday on Saturday although I'd happily sacrifice a drink for a BFP! But roll on next cycle and more baby dancing and keeping my fingers and toes crossed defo not my legs haha 😅 xx

@Fluffy38 definitely not the legs!! 🤣 honestly I’m the same, good job they’re cheap is all I can say! Trying to save the spenny ones for when I actually have a chance at a result 🫣 xx

Snap! I do the squinting, different lighting, standing on one leg trying to get a slight glimpse of a second line, honestly the things ttc does to us! Glad to have ladies I can share the insanity with lol 😆 xx

Sorry for your losses ladies. I really hope you get your bfp soon.. I am also currently trying for just one more baby before my age makes me give up. Il be 40 in July. About to start ivf . We are already blessed with a large family though it wasnt easy and it wasnt without the heartbreak, its been a long road but I'm not ready to give it up just yet. Il follow this group to show my support and I hope to see some great news over the coming months

Good luck on your IVF journey we will all support you through it and fingers crossed this year we will all get our much wanted BFPs. I'm defo out this month AF showed her face this morning not the greatest of birthday presents but I shall have a few drinks this evening and enjoy a very rare evening out with the hubby and then we can get back to business when the time comes 😊 xx

Happy belated birthday @Fluffy38hope you enjoyed letting your hair down a little! It’s my birthday tomorrow and we traveled to the canaries for it with two of the kids! I’m only 9 DPO today and did a sneaky cheapo test in the dark using the fridge light to see the outcome. It looks like a negative but I’ve kept the wee and will do another later when it becomes light! 😆 We are the same time as the Uk here so not too bad. Sorry your AF showed too @Fluffy38 i don’t think I will be too far behind you 🥴

@Fluffy38thanks! It’s been so brilliant! I’m testing negative and feel quite crampy so should come on in the next few days 🙄🥴 I’m glad though as I’ve drank my body weight in champagne this week 😆😆

AF has packed her bags and left so we can try our luck again, just had another batch of opks delivered my fertile window starts on Sunday according to my app but I'll start testing from tomorrow as AF showed a day early and only lasted 3 days instead of 5! I did pee on a stick again but defo BFN so let the baby dancing commence lol 😆, your braver then I am one glass of champagne and I'd go blind and start walking into things the bubbles go straight to my head haha. I did drink a fair amount of ameretto on Saturday tho I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed it! Xx

you’ve reminded me I need to order a load of pregnancy tests and ov tests but to be honest, I might try this month without them as I feel when I ovulate anyway so can start BD on day 8 and take it from there! Need to try and put it to the back on my mind this cycle! I’m sure it’s a big reason it’s not happening! 🥴 Hope you get a positive OPKT in the next few days!

I think that's gonna be our approach this month, I feel quite chilled the weather hasn't been to bad, works been less stressful and iv found the time to start reading again so I'm gonna stick with these vibes and hopefully it works I'm not going to OPK everyday as I have a rough idea when I ovulate so will do it over the couple of days I'm most fertile. I'm sure hubby sees the stick and goes into panic mode that he's gotta get his game face on lol! Having said that as we have both been alot more relaxed the last week iv noticed he's been alot more flirty and 'handy' then normal, he's always been very tactile and affectionate but I'm talking another level!! Maybe it's the spicy stuff iv been reading he's had a cheeky look haha either way I'm defo not complaining and it makes it alot more fun!! Xx

@Fluffy38i wish i had the same enthusiasm as you with sex! 😂😂 I used to but as I’m getting older and still co sleeping with my little one I don’t have very much energy or enthusiasm these days 🥴🥴 The only time I’m well up for it is around ovulation and just after 😂😂😂

I’m going to really try and focus on something else this week and even start reading a book like you’ve suggested! 👍

I highly recommend the filthy rich vampire series by Geneva Lee, its got fantasy, romance and a little spice thrown in or if your into real life stories then the call the midwife books are amazing. It really does focus your thoughts on something other then ttc xx

I don’t think I could read about vampires 😂😂 not my thing. Nor could I read call the midwives! It’s bad enough to watch on the TV!! 🤭🤭 Might have a google and see what else I could try! Xx

Martina Cole books are pretty good if you like crime stories, I didn't think I'd get into the fantasy romance stuff but iv read a few now and they are quite good, fb reels keep encouraging me to buy more lol xx

Hey @Fluffy38Thanks! I’ve not had chance to look yet 🤭 might go into town and look shortly. In the hairdressers at the moment! 😆 I do love a good book. Do t get much chance to read these days but I need to make more time for it! Xx
