TWW at 40 yrs old

A few days into my two week wait now, period due around 2nd of March.

Trying not to get too excited as I'll soon be 40 and I know my chances are lower - nevertheless, I found myself downloading a pregnancy tracking app this morning and looking at all the visuals of what the baby would look like at various stages 🙃

Anyone else out there want to wait with me? Crossing fingers and toes for my November baby!!

Hey jumping on to try and stop myself going crazy! 🤪 potentially in my tww but this is my first proper cycle since getting the coil removed.

not even sure if I’ve ovulated or not. Tracking with Flo and premom but both say completely different things so I guess it’s just time to keep tracking until my cycle (hopefully) gets into a pattern.

I’ve had pretty much close to 0 on all of my lh tests, however, while still low I did get a rise around the day premom estimated I’d ovulate, ewcm and then a temperature rise the next day… so maybe my body is trying!

We’ll see trying so hard not to overthink 🙈

Had my first faint line on Wednesday and this is 36 hour progression. Think I’m going to do a digital later today. AF is due tomorrow.

I’m grateful, because hopefully it means good news, but my symptoms are really intense. The tiredness, sickness combined with hunger, boobs are agony, heartburn, breathlessness and a bit of chest pain even. And so much tugging, pulling and pinching in my tummy. I feel proper rotten. I bet it’s my fault for being unfit as well as old lol.

How is everyone else getting on?

@EmPeEf tentative congratulations. There’s definitely a line there. How many days post ovulation do you think you are?

12-14 dpo. Peak was early Friday the 11th but I’m pretty sure I felt OV happen Sunday. I’ve had a clean line on a regular clear blue so just hoping this one sticks 🤞🏻

I’m now 8w4d. Had an early scan on Wednesday and all was good which is a relief.

That’s awesome. I want to eventually try and wait out for past 8 weeks as well, as the odds go up so much more past that developmental point. So that’s brilliant news for you.

How is everyone doing?

I’m in my first TWW post miscarriage. I usually have longer (31-33 day cycles) and ovulate at day 21-23 but this time I’ve ovulated on day 19. Perfect for me as I thought it would happen whilst my OH is away for the week but he doesn’t leave until Sunday so hopefully we are in with a chance this month.

@EmPeEfdid you test further?

My AF arrived - 2 days before my 41st bday so a lot of tears this morning.

@Fullofconfusion @lemonandsugarpancakes four days after the BFP I had another chemical pregnancy. Now on CD6 of the next cycle and OV testing in case it happens early. Had a record low LH test today so won’t be happening yet.

Three cycles, two pregnancies and two chemicals. I’ve recently read age doesn’t increase the likelihood of chemical pregnancies though, just other types of miscarriage. So I think our days of being excited at a BFP are over. It’ll just be anxiety.

@lemonandsugarpancakesI’m sorry, I know that horrible feeling when you realise your period is here again and it’s another month missed. I took a break from the thread so not sure of your pregnancy journey. I hope it happens for you soon.

@EmPeEfI’m so sorry. I had a chemical earlier this year too. Miscarriage last month plus a TFMR last year. Honestly I feel like I’m trying to complete the worst bingo card ever! I’m not 2DPO so the long 2 week wait is ahead. Hopefully it’ll fly by and there’ll be a positive result at the end of it. Although as you say they are tainted with anxiety! Be kind to yourself

I’ve made it to 7DPO. Luckily with it being half term I’ve been too busy to obsessively symptom spot. I’d love to say I won’t test and will just wait to see what happens but I doubt I’ll actually stick to that!

Well I’m feeling a bit pre-periody so my hopes aren’t high this month, BUT both the cycle tracking apps which I use regularly are saying I’m just the teeniest tiniest bit late. Stardust says 2 days, Clue says 1 day.

Then again, last month my period came 2 days early, so I’m obviously not perfectly regular…

The question is, how many days do I wait before spending money on a test? Wednesday? Friday? I feel like I’m tempting fate just by posting this which is very very silly!

…I’ve just this moment realised that I didn’t get sore boobs or my “sad day” in the lead up to this period. I’m desperately trying not to read too much into that because I’ve been disappointed so many times before.

I got really good at being super chill and not thinking about it at all during the TWW but now that I’m at the point where I may be a bit late, I’m back to anxiety central 😂

@poppymangoyouve done so well to stick it out! I’ve been serial testing this month 😩 started at 7dpo and now I’m 10dpo and still negative. It’s only my second month trying and I don’t ever remember being this obsessed with my last pregnancy! Let us know how you get on if you do test! X

So this happened today. My period is 2 days late but I thought just another weird cycle as I don’t feel anything…

Now I feel a bit numb/confused/excited/scared!

It’s my birthday today and sadly I’m having a chemical and bleeding 1 week, 3 days after getting my BFP. Had a positive digital too. I’m 42 today.

Oh that’s tough @Iris2024, I’m so sorry. It’s always harder somehow when it falls near a birthday.

My body has been trolling me for the past few days. There’s absolutely no doubt in my mind that I’m not pregnant now - I’ve been getting steadily worse period pains for the past 12 hours or so, but technically I’m three days late and technically haven’t bled yet. I just want it out of the way now so I can focus on next month.

What I wouldn’t give to stay home and have a duvet day today.
