As the title suggests, if you’re over 35 and TTC your first, I’d love to hear from you! Would be nice to hear from a few of us in the same boat 🙂

Welcome @Screenburn! Don't worry, we'll climb the walls together.

@Sleepypixxie congratulations! I really hope it sticks for you 🙏🏻 how much B6 did you take? I’m taking Proceive Max it has 10mg of B6 in it which is 714%NRV. I’m also taking 200mg CoQ10(ubiquinol) and Omegas.

Thank you. I took 100mg capsules. I think you can also get them in 50mg capsules, too. I also took CoQ10 for the first time this month, as well as Vitamin C, ultra folic acid & calcium (that includes magnesium, vitamin D & Zinc). I take the calcium because it was flagged in a blood test years ago (for a separate issue) that I had a deficit. I’m now trying to figure out what to take now I have the tentative bfp but think I’m going to get pregnacare max & maybe take 50mg of vitamin b6 on top (at least until 12weeks) as that’s still below the recommended amount🤞x

Just wanted to reply to let you all know that it can and does happen -

I fell pregnant with DD1 just before my 37th birthday. Conceived naturally and no concerns. I joked with the midwife about being a 'geriatric mother' and she just laughed saying they don't even bat an eyelid these days until over 40 as it's so common now.
DD1 is now a healthy 4.5 year old.

I've just turned 42 and currently 28 weeks pregnant with DD2. Again conceived naturally although it took a lot longer, low risk NIPT, no issues found on scans etc....all going well.

Good luck to you all, sending baby dust your way for great news in 2025

Clara202 · 02/01/2025 10:44

@BabyS2025 im actually not sure why they say to stop coQ10 once you conceive but they do say it.
@sel2223 wow congratulations! I hope it all progresses well for you. I listened to the fertility episode of DOAC recently and it basically made me think it was impossible but I also did learn a lot from the episode.
@Screenburn welcome! We’re all in it together, we’ll pass the time here!

AF arrived as expected yesterday after a 30 day cycle. I had been at 24 day cycles since coming off the pill a few months ago.

Hugs @Clara202. It can always feel very glum when your period arrives!

BabyS2025 · 02/01/2025 11:49

Congrats @sel2223 and sorry to hear that @Clara202 - thanks for the info about coQ10 - google tells me it's just because they haven't studied it's impact on pregnant women rather than it being actually dangerous!

Screenburn · 02/01/2025 11:51

Thanks for the welcome @Clara202 and sorry your AF arrived, hope you are able to rest up and gear up for later on this month.

I’ve managed to totally confuse myself - thought I was in day 2 of TWW but have suddenly had another surge of EWCM? Coupled with what feels like period pain even though I’m not due AF for another 14 days. So I’ve no idea what’s going on. Trying not to think about any of it as it’s all too confusing but easier said than done 😫

KittyFantastica · 02/01/2025 17:26

5DPO, so did a PgD test today, and it was positive, so progesterone detected and ovulation confirmed. Still another week to go before my period is due. My temps are looking okay, but my heart rate seems to be getting lower and lower. Hopefully that just means I'm relaxed 😆

I never knew these tests existed

Me neither! Where is best to buy them?

Me neither! Where is best to buy them?

Me three! Ditto where to buy and do you use them to basically check you've ovulated?

KittyFantastica · 02/01/2025 19:42

@BabyS2025 @HollyGolightly4 @Clara202 I bought these ones from Amazon back in May. You get five in a pack. I'd had a D&C after my missed miscarriage and my cycle was all over the place. I got them to try and confirm I was actually ovulating as my BBT was all over the place too. I did ovulate at the end of May, confirmed by these, and I got a positive pregnancy test early June.

You take one five days after suspected ovulation, I believe this is to allow enough of it to build up to be detectable in the test. Unlike other strip tests, two lines of any strength means totally negative and only one line visible (the control line) means positive. Proov do them too, but they're more expensive and they tell you to test three or our times, but I only use one of the Wondfos to confirm.

Thank you @KittyFantastica that is very helpful 💐

KittyFantastica · 03/01/2025 13:30

Does anyone else do BBT? I had a huge dip today and am feeling very disheartened. I didn't have a dip like this when we conceived our little boy, so it's making me think it won't happen this month. Still angers until AF shows up, and I know I shouldn't compare, but it's hard not to.

Screenburn · 03/01/2025 16:59

I have not started tracking BBT yet @KittyFantastica but I’m thinking about doing it from next month as so many seem to find it helpful.

Sorry you are feeling so disheartened - it must be hard not to compare to what you experienced before. It seems like there is a lot of variation between conceptions though, so not necessarily a sign you’re out for this month - will keep fingers crossed for you. Where are you in your cycle, have you much longer to wait?

Clara202 · 03/01/2025 18:43

I have a thermometer but I often forget to do it first thing. Apparently it has to be done as quickly as you open your eyes, before sitting up or going to the bathroom etc. So I haven’t been using it.

thejadestoneandthedragon · 03/01/2025 20:49

I don't track temps because I find it too confusing all these graphs etc😅 plus I just know it's another thing I'd obsess over and I just cant do it..
I've not tested since 9/10 dpo and that was my last test, I've not bought any more. Today I'm 13/14dpo and had a bit of brown CM and headache so I've no doubt my AF is on the way! 😮‍💨

Yes, it can be a bit of a ball ache with a digital thermometer. I have a smart watch that takes my temp automatically every morning. I set it for 5am and it buzzed gently, I hit stop and go back to sleep, and it takes my skin temp immediately. I also have a digital thermometer and I've used both simultaneously with very little variation, so I trust my watch. I do have to wear it with the sensor against the inside of my wrist rather than on the outside though as it's more accurate that way for some reason!

Sleepypixxie · 04/01/2025 10:13

Hello everyone, just thought I’d give you a bit of an update from me.

I got my first bfp a week ago on Friday at 11dpo, period was due last Monday. Since 14dpo, my tests have gotten lighter. This morning’s is now very faint & the cb digi said ‘not pregnant’ so I think I’m in the midst of a chemical pregnancy, sadly. I’ve had no cramps or bleeding & still have sore boobs, but apart from that I no longer feel pregnant & all other symptoms have vanished (nausea, extreme thirst, tiredness, hunger etc). I have a doc appointment on Monday as I’ve asked them to check my bloods.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar? I just want to bleed now but I’ve read it can mess your cycles up. Really hoping not as I already feel like time is slipping away, just one of those things I guess.

hope you’re all doing good ❤️

Screenburn · 04/01/2025 10:20

Oh @Sleepypixxie I’m so sorry, that’s awful. I’ve no direct experience but from everything I’ve read a chemical doesn’t affect your ability to conceive next cycle. Hope you are being well looked after and have lots of love around you.

HollyGolightly4 · 04/01/2025 10:55

I'm sorry @Sleepypixxie 💐

BabyS2025 · 04/01/2025 11:05

Sorry @Sleepypixxie xxx

KittyFantastica · 04/01/2025 12:48

So sorry to see this @Sleepypixxie My loss at 6 weeks was similar to a chemical. My tests got lighter and I woke up at 01:30am to mild contractions. The next morning, light bleeding started. It never got particularly heavy, in fact it was mostly clear fluid with slightly larger clots than usual and a bit of red blood, which is apparently usual. For some, I believe chemicals can be just like a regular period.

I conceived 14 days after my 6 week loss, so it doesn't always affect things at all. Sadly, that pregnancy turned into a MMC at 9 weeks, but ovulation and fertilisation happened as normal. Sorry you're going through it.
