Worried I’m going nuts. I’m having all the same early pregnancy symptoms I have had before. Granted, haven’t been really keeping track of my cycle since my last miscarriage. Any recommendations for early sensitive tests?

BGxxx · 25/04/2025 21:50

@Matthew54 I like easy@home, never had an indent or evap on those but I have heard other people not like them

curliegirlie · 26/04/2025 11:33

My standard go tos are One Step strips, but they are slower to show anything than Boots Early pregnancy tests, despite being the same miu. A Boots test gave me my BFP in Feb, I think the One Steps followed a couple of days later.

Mummysparrow · 26/04/2025 12:33

I am on my first cycle TTC after my endometriosis removal and isthmocele repair surgery in January and I already feel so over it. It's approaching a year since the loss and I want a baby so badly but at the same time not sure how much longer I can continue going 😵‍💫 how is everyone?

Esssa · 26/04/2025 12:35

I'm using easy at home tests but I'm very aware of how a negative test looks. The first time I used them I wasn't sure if I saw a line or just where a line would be if it was positive. They are definitely one that could drive you mad. So maybe not great for super early as you still would be waiting to compare to the next days test.

Matthew54 · 27/04/2025 09:12

Thanks @Esssa . We’ve decided not to test for another week and I’ve made an appointment with a fertility clinic my friends used and recommended. My husband strongly believes there is nothing wrong, we’ve just been unlucky. But I want an MOT to get assurance and assessed. I’ve just been torturing myself and I think this will help.

BGxxx · 27/04/2025 18:20

@Matthew54 I feel the same. I booked tests when I had my first mc but fell pregnant with my little girl before I had them. After the ectopic I feel like I just need some reassurance that everything is okay and I don’t want to waste months and months ttc if there is something going on!

I just think if it is something stupid and simple (like low vitamin d), I’d rather know and fix it.

SnakebitesandSambucas · 27/04/2025 19:31

Hi I'm not sure if this helped make this baby stick around. But I did have low vit c, d and low iron and ferritan levels. Lots of spotting before an actual period. So I took some myoinsotol. Also got their dad to take Wellman supplements as his sperm quality was low 2%. Weight loss and cut out upf. Not saying it was a magic bullet. But let's face it this after 4 losses in under 2yrs desperation takes hold! I'm 35 weeks and still scared. It's a lonely horrible journey and I wish you all well xx

Notsure31 · 28/04/2025 07:21

Was anyone’s bbt all over the place following a loss before a first period? Mine keeps fluctuating up and down. I had my hcg blood tested on Friday and it came back negative at 3.8, although I’m having a very weird situation where I’m still getting faint positives (following instructions so not evaps) on easy at home tests and frer, the hospital are perplexed by it as they shouldn’t pick up levels of 3.8. I also had a mixture of dry and egg white cm yesterday and not as much as I’d normally get before ovulation so not sure what’s going on there.

Ncl31 · 28/04/2025 17:21

@Notsure31 my BBT has been haywire since my
loss.
despite having a full cycle it’s still a little all over the place.
@Figtree11 just got our results. Some comfort and relief mixed with great sadness.
but our little one had triploidy, a full extra set of chromosomes. So even if by miracle I carried to full term they wouldn’t have survived more than a few days.

they taken lots of bloods from me today to rule out thyroid issues and diabetes etc… so I finally feel like I can try again.

Figtree11 · 28/04/2025 17:44

@Ncl31 sending you a big hug ❤️ It must have been difficult to hear, but I am glad you now know. And that you’ve not had to wait any longer to find out. Have they said it’s just one of those unfortunate things & to TTC again?

They’ve said it’s very rare but not something either of us have passed on.
they’ve taken a load of bloods just to double check everything.
she essentially said “the only way you’ll get a baby is to keep trying so as soon as you’re ready to, go for it”

Figtree11 · 28/04/2025 18:07

@Ncl31 that’s good, hopefully it will just be a matter of time now. I’m glad you didn’t have to wait until July to be told!
It’s been 4 weeks for me, so still a wait to go. Feel like I’m automatically thinking the worst which I guess is normal in these situations

@Ncl31 sounds like the appointment was difficult but gave you what you needed, I'm so glad! 💙 Fingers crossed for good news for you soon.

Ncl31 · 28/04/2025 20:08

@Melusina123 very difficult and at the time I felt great relief. Since then I feel confused again between relief, sadness and anger all mixed together.
hopefully that will pass soon

Mummysparrow · 29/04/2025 21:46

@Figtree11 sad to hear you have had another loss. I was hoping that there would be no recognisable names when I rejoined after my medically forced break 💔

SnakebitesandSambucas · 30/04/2025 07:57

Hugs too all xx

Ncl31 · 30/04/2025 09:27

We have our fertility centre follow up this afternoon.
looking forward to hearing what plan they may have for us.
at least then we can look forwards and not dwell entirely on the past.
id just like to know which direction we’re going in

Figtree11 · 30/04/2025 10:58

Thank you @Mummysparrow It took 9 months to conceive this time to just end in loss again, can’t believe this is what my life is. How are you doing?

@Ncl31 i hope it’s a good appointment and that you feel well supported

Hi everyone, sorry to hear so much sad news lately on the thread. I'm hoping you all get some answers soon.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience of retained tissue after an MVA? I had a scan done 3 weeks ago that confirmed I had 1.7mm of retained tissue. The plan so far was to wait until my period and scan again (appointment this Friday for the scan) to see if it would come away naturally. I'm currently day 4 of AF, failing it coming away I will have to have surgery again, just wondering if anyone had success with their retained tissue coming away with their period?

Fullofconfusion · 01/05/2025 11:14

@Jemmy94 I have no experience of this being confirmed although my first period after my termination (medical management) was incredibly heavy and I did pass some tissue so suspect that I maybe did have some retained tissue and this helped to shed anything left there. Hope you have some hopeful news at the scan.

@Ncl31I hope the appointment went well.

I am now 13dpo and I’ve had several positive tests. This also happened back in February and it was a chemical so I’m still very very cautious about feeling happy.

My back story also includes a TFMR last June at 22 weeks so I definitely find the whole TTC journey a worry but hopefully this one sticks

@Fullofconfusion Thank you for sharing your experience, I think I may have passed some but AF started off heavy on day 1 but by day 2 it was quite light and has been since. I'll find out tomorrow I guess. Thank you I'm hoping best case scenario is my bodies sorted itself out.

BGxxx · 01/05/2025 12:36

@Fullofconfusion I had similar. My tests didn’t fully go negative until my period and it was so much heavier than I was used too. So not sure if something was left behind or it was just coincidence

Melusina123 · 01/05/2025 13:44

@Jemmy94 with both my MVAs there was a random bleed a few weeks later that was probably some retained something coming away, so it definitely can happen. In neither case was it big (but in the second case it was seen on a scan before it came away) so it’s very possible that it’s come with your period and it wouldn’t have been obviously much heavier. Fingers crossed for you.
