When it unfortunately happens to so.many you would think they would have a better system in place to deal with it. If I'm logging a miscarriage it should be my choice whether I want help with the data I'm inputting or whether the 'nourish yourself' message is what I need at that point. I would say if you are inputting it, it should do it. If you aren't in that frame of mind you probably won't be adding opks and bbt anyway. I'm only CD16 counting from the first day of my miscarriage so I'm not at the point it would tell me I'm late. I expect it will by easter though if I've not come on or got a new positive test. Did you log your miscarriage bleeding as well as tell it you have miscarried? Because mine isn't logging CD or giving any predictions at all.

@SnakebitesandSambucas uft well since writing that message I spoke to the fertility doc who were about to do our next ivf and he’s concerned it might be an ectopic pregnancy as I got such an early positive. Tbf it makes sense logically. I just feel sick that it’s likely going to happen again.

Esssa · 04/04/2025 19:06

@Nosejug what is the theory in that? Is it that it implants sooner because it doesn't go anywhere? Or does that not make a difference as they have to develop to a certain point to be able to implant? Sorry you are having a shit time of it. Glad you have someone keeping an eye for you. How early was your early test because a lot of us, myself included get early results at 3+ something weeks. I was 11dpo so 3+4 with all my planned pregnancies. More like 4+4 with the suprise one.

curliegirlie · 04/04/2025 19:39

Good luck! I've also jumped back into it. My OPKs haven't been particularly helpful this cycle, although my positives disappeared about a week after the MC. Normally my LH seems to hover around 0.12 when I'm not ovulating, and although they were suspiciously also very negative when I was pregnant, they were a lot darker than usual about a week and a half into this cycle, which almost made me think I may have ovulated early on CD11, as I'd caught a 0.24 the previous day. However, then I got a 0.4 on CD21 and BBT seems to agree that may have been it...

Exactly. Yeah I did both, the other day it said something along the lines of 'keep testing, hgc can take a while to rise, you're doing great' and I wanted to throw my phone in the sea 🤦🏻‍♀️ My Clue app is also having a mad one as I refuse to pay for conception mode or whatever it is. Annoying x

Nosejug · 04/04/2025 20:08

oh @Esssa I hadn't thought of that - surely it does have to develop to a certain point before it can implant...I should know this having waited for blastocysts during ivf. my 'logic' that was backing up the doctor's concern was that it would have implanted further up the tube. but then why would it be more likely to rise early (v v early, like 6dpo). the only stories i can find first hand tend to end with ectopic/incorrect ovulation date. I was using opks to test, and definitely got a surge thursday around 6pm, and had a positive test already by this wednesday evening. I'm glad the doctor was looking out for me but I sort of wish I could have just found out in due course. I so longed for this. Sorry this is probably not the board for me to talk about this, I will move myself over to the pregnancy after MC one.

Esssa · 04/04/2025 21:16

Oh heck @ttcnumerodos, do you live near the sea or are you practicing your throwing arm? It's so insensitive isn't it. I suppose the answer is to step away from the apps but that's like telling me not to pee on the sticks!

Wow that is early @Nosejug fingers crossed for you. That is a heck of a long wait to be able to find out how things are going. I've no objections to your posting here but I am not everyone on the thread.

ttcnumerodos · 04/04/2025 21:22

Ha I'm a wee bit away from the sea @Esssayeah I really should. Trying to just test once a day on OPKs but it's become a habit at this point. Glutton for punishment x

Esssa · 04/04/2025 21:36

Totally get that @ttcnumerodos I think I did 3 yesterday to see if I could find a higher peak. Just got to be patient. But I always say I'm not patient, I'm stubborn so...

curliegirlie · 05/04/2025 10:39

PreMom is weird. It didn't give me that message, but it did mark my first day of bleeding as a MC, then second day of bleeding CD1! It's bizarre. That's why I stick to FF for the actual predictions.

I'm apparently 7DPO but itching to test, which is bonkers as I'm proper disproof of the "you're more fertile straight after a MC" theory. So in the last 3 years, since MC1 in March 2022, I had a CP 20 months afterwards, then there was 16 months between that and last month's brief pregnancy 😔. One the one hand I just want to get back there again, but on the other I know how ridiculously unlikely that is. Life is sodding unfair. Just before the BFP I had just about got round to accepting it wasn't going to happen, and almost looking forward to getting rid of stuff and moving on. But now I feel back to square one and inertia.

Ncl31 · 07/04/2025 08:40

So I’ve had the worst cramps for about 12 hours now with only a little bit of spotting. Hoping AF will arrive today so I can get it done and out of the way.
we’re going camping on Friday so don’t really want to have to deal with that then either! We’ve also decided we’re going to jump straight back in and try this cycle so I’ll be back to doing OPKs very soon.

curliegirlie · 07/04/2025 11:51

AF did arrive for me earlier today, which makes my BBT temps make more sense (and obviously it would have confused FF if it had no sensible baseline), but I'm a bit confused because I had no LP surge around when I'd have likely ovulated. But if it was an anovulatory cycle, the temps certainly did a pretty good impression of post ovulatory temps 🤷‍♀️

But overall, I'm just scared I'm never going to see that double set of lines again - and certainly not ones that will properly stick around 😭🥺. I'm 43 in July. Last month's BFP had taken 3 years/40 cycles. I haven't got another 40 cycles in me. I just feel so broken that briefly March 2025 felt like a miracle, with lines properly darkening for a while and everything. And now it's like it never happened.

@Jemmy94 I don't know, I was lucky enough to conceive on the second month after stopping my contraception the first time around. I had a 27-28 day cycle when TTC my daughter in 2019 and it was the same in-between my miscarriages. I've not had a lot of experience with natural cycles to be honest as I had anorexia and barely any periods in my teens then went on the pill at 19 and was 30-31 when I stopped it to TTC my daughter and then went back on it 8 weeks after she was born. I was on the progesterone only pill and bled every 27-28 days once my hormones settled down after stopping breastfeeding (I had a year of bleeding every 14 days!) but I know that's not a true period

Ah I see what you mean! I'm still testing faint positive at 2 weeks post management but have been cramping a fair bit so I'm hoping my cycle will return promptly back to what it was but time will tell

Jemmy94 · 07/04/2025 12:31

Confusedmermaid1 · 02/04/2025 21:39

@Jemmy94 sorry you’re in this shit club.. I had surgery following MMC at 9/10 weeks in January and my period came back 4 1/2 weeks later. My cycles seem to have returned to normal so far this time🤞🏼

I'm hoping my cycles will return to some normality time will tell! I'm still testing positive at 2 weeks post management so AF might be a while yet.

Jemmy94 · 07/04/2025 12:35

I was wondering, when did everyone start using OPKs again after surgery? Did you class the day after your surgery as a new cycle or did anyone go from when they had their first period?

I'm debating whether it would tell me much as I'm still waiting on AF and a negative test will be 3 weeks post surgery this Friday.

I had a faint positive at two weeks post miscarriage, negative a week later and conceived the week after that.
With my first loss I was having my HCG monitored as my pregnancy was never seen on a scan. I'd already lost the pregnancy when the epu scanned me so they monitored my HCG to be sure it was dropping normally and wasn't a pregnancy of unknown location. I was 10 weeks when I lost the pregnancy so unlikely. If I recall correctly my last HCG test was 2 weeks post loss and my HCG was 30 so would have given a faint positive. A week later I had a negative pregnancy test and a week after that I got my period.

Hopefully you get your period soon and your chance to "reset"

Similar to yourself I've got a faint positive but it's still visible. I'm thinking it's gonna take a while for it to come down. I'm just not good at being patient and I hate not knowing but hoping it comes soon.

Remember your HCG drops by half every 2 days. Say it's 50 today, it will be 25 in two days 12.5 in 4 days 6.25 in 6 days 3.125 in 8 days. That's pretty negligible!
Have hope and sending more of patience your way ... It's one thing you need plenty of patience TTC when you have the least! 😂

I think it’s one of those things that varies massively between people but both times I didn’t get a true negative until 4 weeks post treatment and my period came less than a week after the negative test which I guess suggests I’d ovulated while still testing positive 🤷🏻‍♀️
I didn’t use Opks until after my first period because of still testing positive and because I knew I wanted to wait until after my first period to try again anyway but that was just my preference

Has anyone got experience with retained tissue following a loss? I’ve been diagnosed with 28mm of retained tissue from my TFMR with a blood supply to it.
I had 600mcg misoprostol last night for medical management however nothing is happening. They said call in a week if nothing happens but from what I’ve read something should happen sooner? My hcg was only 14 so coming down but I’ve continuously bled since my TFMR over 3 weeks ago. I wanted to avoid the surgical option due to worry about scarring as I’ve had 3 surgeries for mmc previously.

Oh I’m so sorry that sounds like a traumatic time you’re having with it all.
from my experience if the misoprostol doesn’t work then they’ll offer a surgical management.
i hope it resolves itself quickly

Hi!
I’ve read that you should count the day of loss as CD1 & go from there… however! I did this and it just didn’t work as I was still (and still am 5 weeks later) testing positive. Something about the way HCG & LH work can give false positives on a OPK.

I’ve started testing LH again now as my HCG was 18.5 last Monday so hopefully it’s nearly gone! 🤞🏻 I found it really hard to find the right information on TTC soon after a miscarriage so sorry I don’t have much advice! xx

I’ve just had surgery today and we plan to use them when I’ve stopped bleeding and get a negative hcg, my hcg was only 14 before surgery so it hopefully comes down quick x

Notsure31 · 11/04/2025 16:48

Has anyone had any experience of having multiple ERPC procedures? I’ve just had my 4th one today because of retained products with my 4th loss. I mentioned about my worry over scar tissue and they said it’s unlikely, it was a camera guided procedure and they think they have gotten everything but have booked me in for a repeat hysteroscopy in 4 weeks to check. I’ve welcomed this for the reassurance before trying again but also worried about why they would have felt this is needed and also worried that they do find something and it causes further delays with ttc. They just said it’s to check everything has healed ok. I’m just wondering if anyone else has ever had this?
