Hi all.

As per the title, TTC first baby, I've never had a confirmed pregnancy before. I'm 31, bf is 27.

Been trying to conceive 9 months, but due to PCOS only 6 cycles.

This year I've lost weight, and my cycles since January have varied from 28 days to 38 days. Had PCOS confirmed, and currently waiting for an appointment with gynaecologist to see if I need further assistance. Appointment is taking its sweet time so for now doing it the old fashioned way still with plenty of hope (at least some days, not so much others!!!).

I'm currently on cycle day number 28, negative tests, no signs of a period in sight, CM up to my eyeballs and a whole heap of doubt over when ovulation occured!!

If you are :

TTC #1
A woman who has never been pregnant
Pissing on sticks at an ALARMING rate
Potentially with PCOS but healthy ovaries welcome 😁

Then PLEASE join my thread, so in need of buddies in a similar boat! ⛵

No offence to those TTC #2 or more, genuinley ❤️ just hoping to speak to people who also have no idea what pregnancy would feel like, and who also maybe have the fear they CANNOT ever get pregnant ❤️

Your progesterone is looking really good!! Fingers crossed @CharLdn that this is your month! Have you been taking metformin for a month now?

mummm2 · 26/04/2025 11:28

@CharLdn hey! I’m in TWW 2DPO now. I’ve never tracked PDG but I would say your chart looks like it’s heading in the right direction!? I did look at home PDG strips but there so expensive!
I am tracking BBT for first time this cycle so interested to see how it goes.

Tater05 · 26/04/2025 15:24

@CharLdn That's a nice big progesterone spike! My fingers are crossed for you that the metformin is just what you needed.
I'd be interested to know how you're getting on with it as I have a Drs appointment in a couple of weeks to hopefully test for insulin resistance (as well as bug them for my day 3 and 21 bloods as nothing has been done about that yet since January!).

Last week I had a couple of days where I was flat out exhausted, brain fog and all of it, and I realised I'd been eating more sugar and carbs than usual so I am wondering about insulin resistance. My cycle is quite regular so I'm hoping they don't try to fob me off getting meds because I don't tick a certain box, but I'm going to talk to them about inositol too and see if that could help. Just spending so much money on all of these supplements!

CharLdn · 26/04/2025 15:47

@lavafield yes 1 month now - started at 250 mg now up to 500 mg twice a day.

@Tater05 my cycles are now regular 26-28 days (they used to be 23-33) days and I have no cysts. My testosterone and amh levels are high so I think I have well managed pcos.

I went to the docs and asked for insulin resistance tests and thyroid - they both came back as normal but I asked to be put on metformin to give it a go - I’ve also been taking 4000mg inositol for 3 months - and upping protein and strength training.

On metformin I think I feel like I have more energy in general and my hormone levels this month have been really good - higher LH and FSH, more cervical mucus and really good progesterone levels so I think it’s been making a difference.

It feels like things are moving in the right direction after trying for 16 months… And then next cycle I’ve got a hycosy so hopefully if I’m not preggo things are moving in the right direction.

I’m in a hopeful phase at the moment - 🤞

You can see below a comparison of a previous cycle on Mira vs this cycle - everything’s about 25% higher

Good luck @mummm2 - in my mind all knowledge is interesting 🤞

KT199 · 27/04/2025 12:39

Thank you @MocktailMe it’s hard for people to understand my anxiety but I know you will get it. Alongside anyone else who’s suffered loss. I’m just trying to get through the days now without getting too negative. Only 6 days until scan day now so I’m glad it’s getting closer.

I’m glad you’re taking care of yourself. How is your mental health doing now?

@CharLdn keep us updated, your charts are looking really good!!

I think we are almost coming to the end of this thread now ☹️

KT199 · 28/04/2025 14:07

I had an early scan today as my anxiety was ragggginggg and knew I was pretty much 7 weeks.. am not out of the woods just yet, but at 6+5 we’re measuring a day ahead with a healthy heartbeat. I felt so relieved as we was never in this position before, always measured way behind. Truly hoping this is the start of a normal healthy pregnancy!

Tater05 · 28/04/2025 20:26

@KT199 that's so promising! Hopefully that's put your mind at ease a bit.

@CharLdn sounds like we're in a very similar position except I've just got the polycystic ovaries and hormones are reasonably balanced (I think). I've been upping protein but still need to get on the strength training haha. It definitely sounds like you're on the right track!

CharLdn · 28/04/2025 20:39

@KT199 amaxing glad it’s so far so good ❤️

MocktailMe · 29/04/2025 17:51

@KT199 that is amazing news. I can't even imagine leaving a scan with happy news 🥹 no matter what comes you enjoy this moment and your pictures of your tiny tiny baby!!! I'm so so pleased for you.

@KT199 Very happy your first scan went well! Wishing you the smoothest and healthiest weeks ahead! I can imagine how anxious you were!

OneKindBear · 30/04/2025 00:51

@kt199 That is such amazing news! So glad the scan went well! Hopefully, now you feel more relaxed.

CharLdn · 30/04/2025 21:08

Just got my period :( big sad today. But still we trudge on.

Now onto my hycosy on the 20th so at least a week off trying. I’m just a bit over it…

Tater05 · 01/05/2025 09:43

Sorry AF arrived @CharLdn. I always feel so over it for the first couple of days, especially on the months where I've been more hopeful. It's good that you have the hycosy next month though!

MocktailMe · 02/05/2025 16:01

Ahhh I am so so sorry @CharLdn it is so demoralising when you know you did everything absolutely right. I'm really hopeful your hycosy might help. I don't blame you for feeling totally over it. Every time I get a period I think oh I really CANT do another month but I do find that fatigue fades after a couple of weeks usually for another round. But after so bloody long it really is disheartening.

CharLdn · 03/05/2025 17:26

Thank you @MocktailMe 18 months of negatives is such a slog but even a few days later I’m feeling better.

Its just absolutely farcical how many people around me are getting pregnant I had 4 friends tell me - this week!

I’m chugging on to the hycosy and focussing on getting fit and tanned… like if I can’t be preggo I’m going to look hot 😂 very vain I know!

Thankfully I do have some good child free friends which helps.

MocktailMe · 04/05/2025 07:44

I'm actually doing much the same 😆 I think from the sounds of it you're much more fit than I am - I'm more of a hiker than anything - but I'm making the most of the hiking and getting a good tan from out walking in shorts so much! If I can't be pregnant then I'm going to at least enjoy my health now I've got it back!!! Feeling fit and well has never been so precious to me!!!

I've got a follow up appointment with my fertility doctor following the op booked for later this month. Given that I'm ovulating around now I expect that appointment to be around the same time as the hysterisalpingogram that I am FINALLY hoping to have done.

It feels a really long time since I went to the first one and couldn't have it done because I was pregnant. And everything since that day has been absolutely shit!

CharLdn · 04/05/2025 19:51

@MocktailMe look if leaning into a bit of vanity and getting a tan helps us stay sane then good for us ☀️

I really believe that the physical resilience will also help us mentally too ❤️

Glad things are moving forward for you again hopefully upward from here.

I just can’t wait to actually speak to a fertility doctor after the hycosy as it’s been almost 6 months since I was referred. Hopefully someone can give me some answers outside of chat gpt.

KT199 · 20/05/2025 18:16

Hey ladies,

Just checking in, how are you all doing?!

CharLdn · 20/05/2025 19:03

@KT199 I’m good! Had my hycosy today which showed my womb and tubes are all good which was reassuring.

The doctor also said I don’t have PCOS but just high androgens and that PCOS diagnosis isn’t always helpful.

The doctor was really nice and very reassuring and I found the whole thing very cool!

I’ve also had my fertility appointment confirmed for the 2nd June which I’m excited about - day before my birthday!

I think actually seeing a real doctor will help and I’ve been up and down mentally but am overall feeling much more positive. How are you getting on @KT199

Oh that’s really positive!! Fingers crossed the Hycosy as worked some magic for you in the coming months. I think having appointments scheduled does help, as you feel more in control and like you are being proactive.

Have they discussed whether anything may help with the high androgens?

All good over here, I’m almost 10w now and had a scan at the weekend where everything looked exactly as it should. My 12w scan is in 2 weeks so holding out now for that and praying this baby is meant to be. It’s very nerve wracking and the journey isn’t easy as the anxiety is crippling but I am thankful to be on this journey and keep reminding myself of that.. without this I would have no chance of finally having my baby so hopefully the emotional turmoil will be for a good cause.

CharLdn · 20/05/2025 20:07

@KT199 hang in there and remember anxiety is because you care ❤️ Glad all OK so far 🤞

It was just a passing comment about the androgens but we’re going to have an appointment with the fertility doc so hopefully we’ll get a plan of action from there.

Waitingformiracle · 21/05/2025 07:16

@KT199 Hi! Nice to hear from you. How are you doing? I’m doing fine, actually in the middle of my IVF medication right now, just started this week. So far so good and I feel fine. Excited for what hopefully lies ahead. Hope all is going well with your pregnancy?

lavafield · 21/05/2025 07:59

Hi @KT199, so pleased to hear you are now 10 weeks and so far all is going well! Just two weeks left to your 12 weeks, and hope the anxiety will subside a bit!
@Waitingformiracle Amazing, fingers crossed all works out in the IVF process! Hope you are feeling ok with the injections etc?
@CharLdn also great to hear your hycosy has now been done and you have a proper fertility doctor consultation booked for next steps! Not long to wait! Looks like you are getting some more answers now!

I am fine here, 17 weeks pregnant now and am is already getting bigger. There is a big gap between scans at 12 weeks and 20 weeks and we are reluctant to add more in between, so have to believe all is going well if the bump is growing!

Waitingformiracle · 21/05/2025 09:56

@lavafield thank you! So far so good with the injections, my husband is doing them for me because I would not be able haha. I am feeling fine so far but it’s early days. Glad to hear your pregnancy is going well, it is pure torture waiting between scans but soon you’ll start to feel some movement which will be very comforting!
