Sharing this here because my husband has had to go to work and I’m driving myself slightly insane…

Woke up in the night to some fairly heavy bright red bleeding. Instinctively feel like it’s too much blood to have a happy ending, but weirdly have no pain or cramps and it now seems to have stopped or at least tailed off significantly.

I have a scan at 11 anyway so not too long to find out what’s going on, but currently just feeling quite pessimistic and frustrated that these things can never be straightforward… Gah!

HopefulH · 05/07/2024 09:50

@elarcoiris I'm so sorry to hear this. Terrifying. I have everything crossed for you that the bleed doesn't mean bad news. I know lots of ladies who have had scary bleeds and all has been fine. Are you on Fragmin and aspirin? Sending love. Let us know how you get on. Is your scan with Ms Edge?

lozzmax · 05/07/2024 09:54

@elarcoiris I'm so sorry you're going through this. I actually had the exact same thing happen with my daughter - I had a bright red clotty bleed the night before my 7.5 week scan - they couldn't find the cause of it but it was all fine. I hope it's the same news for you ❤️❤️❤️

Gizmo1983 · 05/07/2024 10:22

@elarcoiris got everything crossed everything thing is ok at your scan so many ladies have bleeding g and all is ok but I know how terrifying it is xxx

VenusStarr · 05/07/2024 11:55

@elarcoiris sending you so much love ❤️ I hope you are ok. That sounds really scary xxxx

Oh @elarcoiris thinking of you and hope all is ok in the scan today. Super scary and why is the body doing this the night before!

VenusStarr · 05/07/2024 12:01

My GP surgery are on it, I've had a flurry of messages about the referral. I should be contacted by Tuesday to arrange the appt.

I'm disconcerted as my GP has put the lump is the size of a lemon. It is big but I didn't think that big and I feel stupid for not feeling it before. I couldnt sleep so got up early and watched the election and noticed that my skin puckers and you can see the lump and it's not smooth 😢 finding it hard to be present and feeling very emotional.

Love to all xx

Sadly no heartbeat so looks like another miscarriage. Measuring 6+5 so only a couple of days behind, which means it must have happened pretty recently. CRP are going to do genetic testing so at least means we will know whether it’s some kind of chromosomal abnormality.

Was pretty much expecting it after the amount of bleeding, so just feel a bit numb about it all. Might check out of this group for a little bit while I process what’s happened but sure I’ll be back in due course. Wishing those of you that have tested positive recently (and everyone else) all the luck while I’m gone!

lozzmax · 05/07/2024 12:06

@elarcoiris I'm so sorry for your loss. Sending love ❤️

Oh @elarcoiris im so so sorry 💔its just not fair. Take all the time you need.

@VenusStarr bless you - i can imagine its hard not to worry or get any sleep, just know you are in the system and are doing all the right things to get seen as soon as possible. Try and be kind to yourself and organise some nice relaxing things to do whilst you wait.

lozzmax · 05/07/2024 15:30

@VenusStarr that does sound really large, but these things can happen so quickly so don't beat yourself up. You've had a lot going on with other aspects of your health and mental health, it's impossible to keep on top of everything. Hoping you get some answers soon ❤️

Rainbowsunshine81 · 05/07/2024 19:57

@elarcoiris I'm so very sorry. Sending you lots of love ❤️

Rainbowsunshine81 · 05/07/2024 19:58

@VenusStarr Sending lots of love to you and a big hug ❤️

lozzmax · 05/07/2024 20:00

@HopefulH how is the testing problem today? Mine is def darker so I think I might stop now for a bit as the morning stress is too much for me. I wake up with my heart racing from like 5.30 and then can't get back to sleep again until I've done it but also am trying to stop myself doing it to put off the bad news!

HopefulH · 05/07/2024 20:36

@lozzmax you have described to a tee exactly what happens to me in the morning too! The prednisolone is not helping with waking up so early either. Lines seems to be progressing. No cramping today so not feeling like my period is about to arrive at any moment and I've also needed to wee a lot. Boobs not hurting at all anymore though. Who knows. Technically I'm 4+3 based on ovulation so I'm not sure if my tests look in line with that or a bit light still?!

Sorry everyone, me again. Just wondering if you are all having private treatment, if you dont mind me asking. I have been looking at tge possibility of a test for high NK cells but it looks really expensive, as do any potential treatments that could potentially be required.

lozzmax · 06/07/2024 09:20

@HopefulH looking good on the progression 🤞🏼 I haven't tested today, feel bloody awful though so I'm taking that as a good sign things are ok. WHO KNOWS THOUGH?!

@Carportforme yes I am seeing Dr. Shehata privately. He does have NHS patients but not sure how long you have to wait for a referral x

HopefulH · 06/07/2024 10:07

I really don't know 😔 freaking out today. With my successful first pregnancy my tests progressed so much quicker than this... I don't know if I should start preparing myself for another loss. It feels crazy to hope when the line progression is so slow!

@Carportforme I'm also private under Prof Shehata but I am currently also under Prof Haezell for CHI on NHS so I'm getting a lot of the immune meds on the NHS now - but I did pay for all the nk cell tests privately before. I believe the wait on the NHS to see Shehata is quite long but you could ask to be referred and put on the waiting list x

@HopefulH sorry for not responding, I typed out a message but no signal where I was all day. I was going to suggest you do a blood test to see whether the HCG is rising enough. Also don't forget it's supposed to double every 36-48 hours not every day. Hoping you get a nice dark line today 🤞🏼❤️

Carportforme · 07/07/2024 09:31

Thank you for the information regarding private versus NHS waiting lists. I might speak to my doctor about this.

HopefulH · 07/07/2024 09:34

@lozzmax thank you - yesterday was a difficult day. The lines are still slowly getting darker. I posted on a Facebook group and one of the ladies was really quite harsh about it not meaning anything besides you are or are not pregnant - but if there is a clear progression that surely shows hcg rising? I know it doesn't mean it's viable or not viable but it means it's not a chemical?

Are you getting your hcg bloods done? I'm so scared of doing this as worried if the numbers are low I'm really not sure what I'll do with myself. I think I'd rather be hopeful until finding out the inevitable.

I'm also wondering when I should do an early scan. I don't really want to do one before 7 weeks this time as I know if there's no heartbeat then it's definitely over, where as last time I was in limbo for a while waiting for the heart beat to stop... but I'm supposed to be going on holiday for two weeks when I'll be just over 7 weeks so it would mean having a scan right before we go.

Or I could just wait it out (if I get that far) and schedule one for when we get back from holiday when I'll be 9 weeks - but at least we get to go on our holiday. I'm not sure if you can go on holiday if you know you've had a missed miscarriage? Would it be better to just not know? All my losses have been missed miscarriages so I've never spontaneously bled. And my little boy is so looking forward to our holiday - and we bust a gut to pay for it to take him abroad this year. I really wanted something good in the year we could look back and remember...
